In the semifinals we were down to four live-action white dudes which I find kind of sums up what kind of character people on tumblr hate on its own. These were a week long because I was still shadowbanned but I think I got my blog restored partway through this round.

Ross won. It wasn't even that close. So as promised, he was publicly executed. In Skyrim. Because what else would it be.

Personally I never watched Friends so Ross sweeping was not what I expected lol. There were some characters I put on opposite ends of the bracket because I thought the finals would be Vriska vs. Bakugo or Kylo vs. Tony or something like that. But it turns out people really hate annoying sitcom dudes, at least from the sample size that voted in this poll.

i see a lot of people in the tags of one of my most recent gasterposts lamenting the fact that we probably won't be able to rescue him from the void or whatever he's trapped in, and honestly, i know that, but... i don't think that's too terrible of a thing!

i actually do think there's a slim chance he'll appear visually in deltarune (completely baseless, but i live in hope) and thus not be nowhere for at least a short time, but i know that when all is said and done, he'll probably still be stuck in that void of his (or whatever you want to call it; limbo, nonexistence, etc, it's more of a concept). and i don't think that really matters. obviously i can't know anything due to our lack of info, but from what we've seen, he seems... happy in the deltarune announcement tweets. happy to see us, happy that we're playing his game, and excited for us to see more. it's always felt to me like we're making him very happy simply by being here and playing deltarune.

which makes sense. after all, although we don't know his motivations yet, put yourself in his shoes- if you were erased from your universe and forgotten by everyone you ever knew and loved, then the discovery that there was an entire other dimension of beings who know of you and are fascinated by you and love you and feel so sorry for you would probably be awfully comforting- and if you reach out to them hacking a twitter account and asking them to download a shady-looking program from you, an ostensible stranger, and they DO without question, i think that'd make you the happiest you've been in a hundred years.

i know gaster will probably still be in limbo by the end of deltarune, but that's okay. i think this experience is going to make him very happy, and it's going to let him know people do still care about him, and that's really all we can ask for.

And his rival is the son of his dad's rival so its a whole situation lol(though Ace wouldnt be upset if they dated, maybe it'd stop the terf wars between them!), like his dad he's optimistic(though he has a lot more anxiety than his more carefree dad), he loves jazz music and ususally has it playing in his office on a record player, sometimes he and Classical will swap records since their dads do buisness!

10 things I've learned as an artist

Take a step back - I know we all get a lost in the sauce but if you look at the bigger picture, you can pick up on things that look strange or that you don't like.

You can criticize your art but don't hate it - I've said this before but hating your art is hating your progress. The only way to grow is by learning the things you liked/disliked about your older pieces.

Listening to music helps you more than you think - Every art teacher I've ever had always played music in their classroom. Classical, alt, rock, pop, etc. ever since I've noticed my art had more emotion tied to it and (imo) was sharper.

You're only able to draw anime? That's not a bad thing - Drawing anime can be very helpful when it comes to drawing human profiles and it can also help with proportions. No one can tell you how to make art. That's the whole point of it. It's subjective.

You can totally have multiple art styles - Of course you would hear this come from me. Having multiple art styles can help you find the one you like and it's fun to do. I usually take all the sketches I've done and take bits and pieces i like outta them.

Never be afraid to use a reference - Reference models/artist put their pictures on the internet for people like us! The their whole thing is to help young/inexperienced artist to get a grasp of anatomy, creases, and gestures. Never be scared to use one.

If you're working on the computer, give your eyes a break - This doesn't just go for artist, this goes for everyone. I know I'm gonna sound like a parent here but looking at a screen for hours really can make you tired. It can fuck up your melatonin production because of blue light from the screen.

Don't just give your eyes a break, give your hands a break, too. - For the love of fuck please don't spend 4 hours on a huge piece and not give yourself at least one (1) 30 minute break. Carpal tunnel and Arthritis are artist killers. Rest yourself.

Avoid burnout - (This goes for everyone too) Feeling burnt out can take you out for years if you let it get bad enough. I know your art is important to you but remember to keep an eye on your mental/physical health. Being well rested, having good nutrition, and going on a walk every so often can make you feel amazing.

Show your family and friends your art (if you're comfortable with it) - I like to show my mom and siblings my art sometimes. Even though my mom doesn't get it most of the time, she's always happy to give me pointers and compliments. My brother really likes my art and was super excited when I got confident enough to show him. He thinks the way I draw Kris (Deltarune) is incredibly gender and loves it when I send him my pieces.

Here are some apps and websites I use to help with my art:

Pureref - This is an app I use to keep an eye on references while drawing. You can set it to remain open even when in a different software. It's free but they accept donations.

Krita - This is the art program I use. It's reminiscent to Photoshop (something I'm familiar with) but it's completely free and you can get it through their website (Or Steam... if you wanna pay $15 for it).

Krita-Artist.org - Krita has a forum for their users to help other users and give news/updates. There's hundreds of resources, free brush packs, and tutorials on there to help you out.

CapCut - Video editor that's mostly used for Tiktoks but it's easy to use, free, and has it's own copyright detection system. I use this for animatics.

AdorkaStock - Reference photo website that allows you to choose poses from angles, objects, number for models, and positions. All the models are clothed, it won't jumpscare you. They all also have different body shapes so if you're worried about having to draw a chunky character with a slim model, you're all good on that front.

A landmark for mashcore and modern EDM, the second installment of Xavier Maxwell's berdlycore series is even weirder, denser and funnier than its predecessor. With its unorthodox sampling and wide breadth of styles to pick and choose from, berdlycore chapter 2's whirlwind of everything from future bass to electro-house to Jersey club makes for an impossibly fun listen.

An unfathomable amount of ideas are stuffed into berdlycore chapter 2's slim 30 minute runtime, but that overwhelming energy is all part of the fun. A direct descendant of the Dariacore mashup style with its comedic sampling and mishmash of genres, you know exactly what you're in for from the start - blisteringly fast tempos, stabby EDM synths, compressed and overblown drum programming, all the strangely fitting video game and TV show samples - but Maxwell's music is informed more by 2010s complextro and hardcore EDM than the bubblegum future bass and Jersey club Dariacore most often focused on. In turn, the berdlycore series is much harsher on the ears but quadruple the fun of just about any other release in its vein I've heard in the past few years, unafraid to indulge in EDM's bombastic and aggressive sides and delivering an unparalleled listening experience because of it. Not only is berdlycore chapter 2 intricately woven, chock-full of playful and plainly funny samples, and a nonstop train of club chaos, but it's entirely unlike anything else you can find in the digicore/hyperflip space. It's a pipe bomb filled with ecstasy, packaged in the aesthetics of Undertale and Deltarune: there's no doubting berdlycore chapter 2 is one strange beast of an album, but it's a beast nonetheless. With longer track lengths and two more songs compared to its predecessor, chapter 2 develops on the berdlycore format in both overt and subtle ways, just enough to make it stand out as a new entry in the series while keeping Maxwell's signature absurdity and dense production. Right from the start, mashups aren't real... samples the first half of the first verse of Childish Gambino's Bonfire before a rapid shift into clanging dubstep and a Jersey club detour complete with the squeaky bed sample from Trillville's Some Cut, an abrupt cutoff of everything then filled in with IShowSpeed's famous "I like fifteen year old girls!" clip to lead into another instrumental build off of a pitched-up Titanium chorus; the kicker being that everything I just went through happens in the track's first minute. It'd be next to impossible to go through every detail and beat switch Maxwell throws into here, but any Gen-Z'er listening to chapter 2 will pick up on nearly all of them: the chipper "OK!" sound from Wii Play's Find Mii, the item box and race finishing sounds from Mario Kart Wii; The Living Tombstone's Five Nights at Freddy's and PinkPantheress' signature "Hey!". It's a lot to take in at once, but the point of chapter 2 isn't to pore over every sample and production choice for hours on end - it's to have a good time with the music, and there's not a moment when the radiant glow of Maxwell's music dims. The rest of chapter 2 bursts open every dopamine reserve in a different way, always at the will of Maxwell's brickwalled production and unorthodox song structures but never so ear-piercing and intense that the quality of the music begins to dip. As odd as it may seem, there's a genuine magic to how they did surgery on a bird constantly shifts between oil-slicked dubstep and fast-paced Jersey club, or the full embrace of festival-oriented EDM on it's always a good time for complextro that ends up one of the album's best tracks, Maxwell unafraid to indulge in the saccharine side of EDM and bring their own hardcore twist to it, and even when things start to get extra weird with ok google what the bird doin's glitchy breakdowns and virtual riot pizza's trap-oriented intro, it's all in the name of giving chapter 2 more variance and definition than its predecessor. It's the same deliriously kinetic club music Maxwell broke ground with on chapter 2's predecessor, but with an assortment of new ambitions and the extra space to let them roam freely, from leroy snares will soon replace NFTs and its choppy amen breaks to none of it matters if we're all gonna fall's dewy piano sample - whether or not all of chapter 2 at once is a bit too much of a sugar rush for you, there's no denying how impeccably Maxwell executes it all. Even if it may not be built with longevity and subtlety in mind, I can't help but love every moment of chapter 2's hyperflip insanity. As vivacious and knowingly off-the-wall as berdlycore chapter 2 is, there's simply so much to love about it that all the little complaints you could make - it doesn't stray far from Maxwell's signature style, there's not a whole lot of variance in volume and intensity despite the new instrumental additions, the album's jokey bits are so ultra-specific to zoomer humor that it's hard to get in on the joke if you're not as deeply entrenched as I am in goofy internet jokes - don't matter a bit when the music is just this good. Most EDM doesn't come close to being as fun as it's always a good time for complextro, nor is it so elaborately designed and thrilling all the way through. If it feels like chapter 2 could be a final destination of sorts for modern EDM and hyperflip, it's because Maxwell isn't far off from reaching that point: everything from 90s hardcore EDM to bubblegum bass to glittery future bass is here in one way or another, chapter 2 only able to exist with the decades of innovation in electronica over the past few decades and benefiting immensely from all the different options it offers Maxwell. Nothing else, even in the hyperflip scene, even comes close to how bright and exuberant chapter 2 is, and that alone is a massive feat. For all its idiosyncrasies, taking berdlycore chapter 2 as it is and not expecting anything but a giant heap of lively EDM bangers reveals it to be some of the most bewildering fun any album this year offers - what's not to love?
