There's been a lot of happy times in my life, and I'm going to explain one of them. It was only 5 days until Christmas 2023, and my family and I went to Mandaluyong (an urban city in Manila). My father had a meeting while my mother, two sisters, and I had Toby's Estate Coffee for lunch. I ate a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato compote and potato chips. It was delicious. After that, we went to The Podium and just looked around but didn't buy anything. So, we headed to SM Megamall, and that's where our Christmas shopping started. First, we went to Mango and Pull & Bear, where we bought clothes.

Then, we were hungry, so we ate at The French Baker. I ordered a chocolate cake, while my family ordered sandwiches. I guess I have a sweet tooth. After that, we decided to keep walking around, and that's when there were security guards blocking one side of the mall leading up to the SM Cinema. That's when I realized there was a red carpet event for an upcoming movie at the MMFF. It was Mallari, starring Piolo Pascual, Janella Salvador, and Elisse Joson! I was surprised because I'm going to see Filipino celebrities. When I got to the front, I found Janella's friends/co-stars from Darna (my favorite Filipino TV show): LA Santos, Kira Balinger, and Mark Manicad.
After 45 minutes, there were lots of security guards coming our way, and they told us to move back, and there were the Mallari stars: Elisse Joson, Janella Salvador, and Piolo Pascual. I was so starstruck by Janella because she's super pretty in real life! After seeing them, we continued to do our Christmas shopping for our relatives. We went home with smiles on our faces, I think, especially myself, because I can't believe I saw the main antagonist of Darna.
(In order of appearance: Elisse Joson, Janella Salvador and Piolo Pascual) P.S. ignore my fangirling screaming in this video.
and it’s not as easy as it looks in movies or cartoons. In fact, it’s extremely hard, especially for someone like me who gravely lacks a sense of coordination or rhythm in the body. I stayed on the side walls for roughly an hour trying to find my balance. I fell off twice when I tried to be a little confident and went for a cute little slide. I landed on my butt but I played it cool and acted like it didn’t hurt because there were people everywhere.
My feet went a wee bit sore, my body hurt, and sweating - it felt like a freaking whole cardio routine.
Some people are not born to be a Yuzuru Hanyu. I’m just happy to try new experiences and to discover other things I’ll probably suck at doing 😅

Weekend lunch at Mexicali SM Megamall: Why this mexican restaurant is a must-try
Mexican cuisine has gained immense popularity in the Philippines. This is hardly surprising, given the many cultural links between Mexico and the Philippines (both being end ports of the Spanish Galleon Trade) and the appeal of the bold and spicy flavors of Mexican food to Pinoy taste buds.
For the past thirty years, Mexicali has been the go-to Mexican food place for Filipinos. I used to enjoy…
