I want to get as many signatures as possible so we can show SM how much demand there is for a world tour! It only takes a minute to sign and share the petition so please continue to spread it. I am so grateful for all the signatures I have already gotten!

taemin leaving sm and doing music shows with kasper bada kany and all those korean AND worldwide known dancers is such a powerful move of his, he's literally not saying a word but still proving it has always been all him and not his company who has made him stand where he is rn. that's what a greatly respected artist is and im sure the entire industry (both in korea and the rest of the world) can agree

✶𓏲ּ𐀔.ᐟ ⠀⠀⠀JULIETTE⠀ ( 🐰 ) relationships ! ───── sm family 𖤛
features : boa, tvxq, super junior, snsd, shinee, exo, red velvet, nct— 127, dream, wayv, wish —, aespa, riize
Tumblr media
▶︎ FAMILIAL FIGURES
⠀⠀ boA ( 보아 ) ⠀⠀ ─── ⠀⠀90%
when boa debuted, juliette was just getting to be born
with the fourteen year age gap, boa essentially took juliette under her wing like everyone else.
told her the hardships and challenges as a soloist but managed to be her first confidant.
fans LOVE their interactions sm like always point out juliet is boa’s baby 😭 😔
mother & daughter type of duo!!
⠀⠀ TVXQ ( 동방신기 ) ⠀⠀ ─── ⠀⠀80%
just like the rest of the 1980 - 1994 artists, juliette has more of a familial relationship with them
changmin & juliet had have collaborated in the past before and he’s always regarded her as a talented artist
just like changmin, u-know respects juliet for her hardwork as an idol and is always open to hearing out her troubles
⠀⠀ SUPER JUNIOR ( 슈퍼주니어 ) ⠀⠀ ─── ⠀⠀75%
to be honest, juliet only fw a few of the suju members. donghae & eunhyuck and probably leeteuk
although she’s more closer to the d&e duo, she puts suju in high regard as her seniors and their level as 2nd gen stars
she does talk to them occasionally tho
⠀⠀ SNSD ( 소녀시대 ) ⠀⠀ ─── ⠀⠀90%
mothers and their daughter i fear
besties w tiffany and their bond is to die for
snsd > 2ne1 srry
juliet FOUGHT on the forums for them
it’s like sisterhood but also motherhood in a way so like… idk they just love juliet and they baby her whenever they get the chance to
⠀⠀ SHINee ( 샤이니 ) ⠀⠀ ─── ⠀⠀90%
shinee took juliet under their wing once they met the 10 year old. when they were introduced to the pre-teen, they were in definite shock and became her older brothers
one of the core memories she has with them are the way the members would help her with her homework. since taemin had debuted awfully young as well, the pair would often be seen helping each other in their respective studies (with jonghyun stressing bc now he had to take care of TWO kids.)
key made it his responsibility to protect juliet throughout his life. of course she wasn’t the youngest person in sm, but at the time, she was just a mere ten-year-old girl who wanted to follow her dreams
⠀⠀ EXO ( 엑소 ) ⠀⠀ ─── ⠀⠀85%
just like shinee, most of exo (especially suho) took juliet as their daughter
often coined as the mini baekhyun w her massive amounts of energy
talking abt baekhyun, the vocal line is the reason why juliet manages to a “voice pocket” in her dimple. they always manage to teach her new ways to either sing or hit a note
but definitely older brother(s) & younger sister energy
⠀⠀ RED VELVET ( 레드벨벳 ) ⠀⠀ ─── ⠀⠀90%
juliet was originally supposed to be in red velvet as she appeared in the ‘happiness’ mv but the idea was later scrapped
she trained with them and formed a sisterhood bond
out of all of the members, she’s super close w yeri and they have their own little girl dates together
irene is just a single mom who works two jobs, who loves her kids (wendy, joy, yeri, & juliet) and never stops
▶︎ FRIENDS
⠀⠀ NCT 127 ( 엔시티 127 ) ⠀⠀ ─── ⠀⠀90%
if u asked juliet about what she thought about 127, she would tell u that they r her fav group
juliet is a SUCKER for noise music and who invented noise in kpop? nct ofc
out of all of the members, she’s super close w taeyong, johnny, jungwoo, mark & haechan
their bond as a whole leans in the middle of siblings & friends. its def more sibling towards the older members tho
big jungwoo fan. like everytime she sees him, a smile on her face 100%
⠀⠀ NCT DREAM ( 엔시티 드림 ) ⠀⠀ ─── ⠀⠀100%
since all of them are more closer in age to juliette, they all feel more connected
oh she loves the dreamies a little too much i fear
juliet always gets caught talking to them on camera or online which leaves fans super supportive of their interactions
she trained with the dreamies and basically grew up together
when asked about her favorite member in the group, she stays quiet and says jisung (to jaemin’s disbelief)
they always hang out together which has led to weird rumors but fans LIVE for their annually karaoke nights
⠀⠀ WAYV ( 웨이V ) ⠀⠀ ─── ⠀⠀90%
just like the rest of nct, she fw them heavy 💚
she only goes to their door for ten’s cats and manages to unsucessfully kidnap his cats
tho she occasionally yaps with yang2, hendery, and xiaojun
at the beginning, she found it hard to communicate with them due to language barriers but after she took it upon herself to learn mandarin, she’s been talking shit w them :p
⠀⠀ AESPA ( 에스파 ) ⠀⠀ ─── ⠀⠀100%
just like dream, she’s more closer in age w aespa
she bonds more with giselle and they have such a tight friendship, u would think she’s dating giselle and not jaem 😒
as aespa goes to more award shows now, she’s seen tagging along with them and often coined as the hidden member.
when juliet found out that aespa was going to debut, she cheered bc she finally had more girls her age in the sm building 🙏
▶︎ GETTING TO KNOW
⠀⠀ RIIZE ( 라이즈 ) ⠀⠀ ─── ⠀⠀89%
when she found out shotaro and sungchan were leaving nct but debuting in riize, she cried…
YET she still truly has to make friends with the rest of the riize members. like yes she will film a challenge w them but afterwards it gets quiet…
bias in riize? probably sohee. she finds him so adorable (another complaint from jaemin)
THO she LOVEEEESSS their music.. like play talk saxy and she will SING.
⠀⠀ NCT WISH ( 엔시티 위시 ) ⠀⠀ ─── ⠀⠀75%
to her disbelief.. she didn’t know they could get younger..
like ur telling me she has to say hello to a CHILD. like she probably felt like everyone when she first debuted.. oh man it’s like deja vu
she’s definitely trying to get to know them but she finds it hard… to do that
but she’s an nctzen before human so ofc yk she’s going to support 🗣️
Tumblr media
as for ex members, taeil & lucas aren’t rlly gonna be mentioned for obvious reasons. as for lucas, idc if the allegations were fake or real, i just dont fw that guy and so he won’t be mentioned at all other than here. ty and have a good day

The line between acknowledging and being vocal about industry issues, idol management, company policies and much more and becoming a manager fan that is convinced their favorite idol is persecuted and disrespected at every step is a really fine line which is getting crossed more and more and I feel that we're losing a grip on reality.
Especially when this is a discourse surrounding rich, influential and respected idols. Not that they would be immune, but I'd say it's a bit different if we're talking about a successful man in his 30s or a young boy in a rookie group that gets ignored. Or women idols for that matter. We shouldn't forget them.
I'm saying this because there's always a slippery slope that I saw with Jimin's case and now with Taemin. As much as there were clear and evident issues with Jimin's solo album release, he's also one of the most important idols out there. His name means something. He's among the top succesful idols which says a lot as we know that a big percentage of idols don't get a high level of success or a really significant income. I was never shy in talking about the things that went wrong with that promotion period, the weird weverse articles and everything else, but Jimin also resigned a contract, he's staying at that company and he's part of that group and so far there hasn't been any other news so let's not turn unsaid, imaginary things or our own wishes into reality.
As to Taemin, he too had a short period of promotional activities which seems to be the standard now. What a shame to go through it at such a fast pace that we're not able to sit with an album, to have performances spread throughout, to immerse ourselves. This is the industry's fault and I hope that at some point, people with decision power will realize and make some changes.
Taemin not performing at an end of the year show is unfortunate. Yes, it is. But why the need to exaggerate? Why? Just a couple of weeks ago he had more than 2h of performances in a show that will be taken to Japan. Taemin promoted the album and the title song and having a 2-day concert is not something insignificant. Why are we forgetting this?
Taemin is not disrespected, he's the idol in SM that has had the most opportunities since early on and we can see that until present day. He's been able to perform how he wants and do the concepts he likes and he's actively creating a legacy. He is K-Pop. A 20 something idol doing a cover of Guilty is the proof of the influence Taemin has. This is not something new and certainly not bad. I'm surprised at how many people can't seem to understand that.
We need to find a balance and stop with the persecution theme that has been spread through fandoms.

Hi BPP
Apologies in advance if this ask is haphazard. I am not as deep in the kpop world as I’d like to be. I think I actually only know about Hybe groups and maybe a few songs from other groups due to Instagram and kdramas.
In the 1.5 years I’ve followed BTS, I’ve been absolutely wowed by them and their performances. I’ve not felt the need to check out other group performances as much.
Being on tumblr, naturally, one comes across discourse or opinions on other groups. And I’ve seen some people comment about BTS fans being entitled or harsh towards other groups. This was most apparent when Taemin came out with Guilty. Now, I’m not going to take away from his artistry but guilty is not my type of music. The only reason why I even know of Taemin is because of the dance challenge he did with Jimin. And to be honest, I find Jimin a better dancer. For all the videos I’ve seen with the two of them dancing togerher, Jimin always comes out top.
I know Jimin has said before that Taemin inspires him a lot. And it probably is very true. From what I’ve read, Taemin debuted at a very young age and was the stand out performer in Shinee. I will give credit where due - the concept for his Guilty music video is very boundary pushing and speaks of an artist who isn’t afraid to experiment his/other darker sides, afraid of pushing the envelope. But that doesn’t make him the most amazing dancer or performer?
But it also doesn’t mean that BTS fans should call him a cheap Jimin copy. Whilst I do think Jimin is a superior artist, I think the fact that he respects Taemin and has been inspired by him should be enough of a reason for his/BTS fans accord the same to Taemin.
In your opinion, BPP, do you think Taemin is a better dancer, performer, artist than Jimin and are his fans right when they scoff at comparisons with Jimin (whom they may or may not love but consider an inferior performer)?
***
Lol fun fact: I’d seen SHINee in concert a couple times before BTS debuted.
Also, I find your ask interesting because reading it, you seem like a fan of Taemin and his music despite you saying “guilty is not my type of music.” Or at least, more accommodating of the ideas you’ve picked up about him.
That said, yeah I agree with you that some ARMYs view BTS (and Jimin) as being the best there is when it comes to performing, and they are critical of other performers in comparison. On one hand, it’s understandable given BTS are the best performers around. That was literally BTS’s claim to fame and they outshot every group while they were active, including SHINee that’s also a very good group when it comes to performing.
A second reason you see this dynamic is because it’s constant across all fandoms in k-pop. Every fandom has a superiority complex on account of their favourite groups/idols. Shawols and SM stans will tell you SHINee/Taemin is better; Stays will tell you Stray Kids is the better group; YG stans will tell you Big Bang/GDragon is the better performer. Most stans have this weird chip on their shoulders on account of the groups they stan. ARMYs just happen to be the fandom that has the results and critical acclaim to actually back it up.
Taemin is a remarkable artist and he’s improved a huge lot since debut, especially in terms of performing. It’s also true that his friendship with Jimin is enduring and they’ve both shared that they inspire each other. In a perfect world, stans would consider these facts when they discuss the idols and hopefully, they’d do so with respect. In reality, people like what they like and hate what they hate regardless of anything else. Why do you expect people who like Jimin to view Taemin positively when those same people don’t even view Namjoon positively, Namjoon who is closer to Jimin, Namjoon who Jimin has repeatedly said has inspired him over the last 10 years, Namjoon who is in the literal same team with Jimin.
Regardless of what Jimin has said about Namjoon’s character, skill and artistry, many of his stans don’t care, so why should Jimin’s connection to Taemin have any bearing on whether they like him if they genuinely think Jimin is better anyway? This whole space would be better if people were marginally respectful when discussing idols they might not like, but that’s not what happens - whether Shawols discussing Jimin or ARMYs discussing Taemin, and so we get the dynamic you’ve observed.
Personally, while I can appreciate Taemin’s dancing skillset, Jimin for me is the more dynamic dancer. I also prefer Jimin’s vocals the best as I’ve said several times before. SHINee’s choreographies in general have limited appeal for my tastes for several reasons, but Taemin’s individual stuff is really good even though over the years I’ve been watching him, I’ve noticed a pattern in the sorts of routines he gravitates towards and as I’ve said before, my tastes for choreo are… less refined. For better or worse. It’s hard to explain but Taemin is viewed as the more explicit performer, often leaning into themes exploring sexuality and sensuality, but it’s actually Jimin whose performances feel more raw, and give me more of an edge, regardless of the theme.
Anyway, I’m team Jimin if that’s what you’re asking. If seeing k-pop stans and/or ARMYs peacocking on account of either Jimin or Taemin bothers you, then I suggest curating your timeline. It’s likely not ever going to change in wider k-pop fandom lol.

I don’t respect SM very often since they’re normally full of so much shit, but I can at least say I’m pleased that they decided not to be capitalistic, money-hungry bastards by forcing SHINee to make a repackage for Hard while Onew is on hiatus. I’d be fine if Hard never got a repackage if it means we won’t have to listen to an album composed of only songs recorded by Key, Minho, and Taemin

Even though i have
THOROUGHLY
enjoyed this whole Hybe vs MHJ drama, thinking about a few things in relation to bts left me feeling less than good..
Firstly!
Let's talk about her direct involvement with bts, which was for Layover. Tae approached her and she talked about it just once and EVEN THEN, she made it seem like she was very busy but still took up the "opportunity".
I can't help but feel bad for Tae, because this woman was literally seeing a shaman🧙 praying for bts to be eliminated from her path to success.
We know MHJ always likes them 'young' and look at how she directed Layover concept shoot-
-androgynous concept which had Tae getting hair extensions
-he lost a ton of weight for the album (entirely unnecessary)
- these particular pics -
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You will understand what i mean when you read about how she did Shinee's concept photos, especially Taemin who was barely 19-20 years old-
Somehow her concepts seem like teenage sexualization. And if you don't get my point-
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also see this detailed twit thread about her pedophilic ideas.
Secondly!
I can't help but imagine since how long she has prayed for bangpd and bts's downfall. For how long has she tried make a group bigger than them? Right from her SM days.
And when bangpd slithered and crawled to her to help create a Girl group, she didn't hesitate at all. She knew no other label would make that big of an investment and it would also be Hybe(BTS label) first girl group, first female juniors to BTS. She had the opportunity handed to her on a golden platter.
Obviously not all defamation and malicious news about bts members were by her, but a lot of them could be??! I mean she clearly doesn't respect BTS's achievements at all??
But what affects me most-
Is how Hybe itself and Bangpd himself are treating BTS since the hiatus. They thought if they bring bts down, downplay their achievements and not post about the hot 100 jm got without his support, they would clear the way for other Hybe groups to rise?? Seventeen, txt, new jeans -
All of these groups have articles written on them in a way that DOWNPLAYS BTS.
It seems very intentional. Which brings me to my next thought-
Why is Hybe trying so hard to make other groups relevant? Trying out all formulas? Paying the media?
Do they already know something about BTS member's possible intentions? What is the new contract that BTS signed? I'm sure that contract is not something that can tie bts to Hybe like a slave. Each bts member is a big enough artist to have their own independence with more than enough money to buy themselves out of the contract.
Thirdly!
What is still baffling to me is while Hybe was giving billboard awards, playlisting, music videos and tiktok push to NewJeans, Jimin got none of that, despite being nominated.
I know it must have rattled bangpd's brain when jimin was able to achieve a full blown success without an ounce of his support. Jimin and his success was fully because of jm, pdogg and his production team. And no one else. Just pure, organic success. I wonder what MHJ thought about it? Did she go running to Bangpd and throw a fit about how BTS isn't supposed to be stealing all the attention? That BTS was still carrying kpop on their back even as soloists? I'm sure it rattled a lot of people in Hybe AS WELL AS Scooter.
No wonder Jimin separated himself from all those snakes in the building while making his album.
I can't wait for the day BTS open their mouths.
*sigh*
Anyway, are you listening to HOTS and Like Crazy Remixes EP?

It was late into the evening as you paced around the apartment. The TV played at a low hum in your ears, hearing the occasional collar bell ring as a small cat zoomed her way around the apartment without a care in the world. Taemin had told you he would be back at around seven o’clock, respecting his wishes not to meet him as he came back into Seoul—there would be an infinite amount of people there just to see him, let alone his actual family and friends. He told you, in his soft voice over the phone, that he would be home straight away and to not worry. All you really could do was trust him and resist the urge every half hour not to call him.
It was also six-thirty, which meant it was food time, the little cat making her way around you in circles, squeaking out little meows now and again for attention. You smiled, making your way to the kitchen to prepare a can of cat food in a bowl. She liked it warmed up, and you often sprinkled a few treats in there when Taemin wouldn’t see, just because she was so damn cute.
“It’ll be done soon,” you told her with a smile as she trotted her way around the kitchen. There were a few picture frames littered throughout the kitchen as well as pictures taped to the refrigerator. Everything from Kkoong herself, his parents, his members, and his friends, as well as pictures of the both of you taken in many different places around the world. You were fortunate enough to be able to travel along with him, being able to sneak your way out of the public eye; as long as you weren’t considered famous, you were basically unstoppable. There was nothing wrong or suspicious in the media about a “male friend of Taemin’s”; it made just enough sense to work, and it did. You crouched down onto your knees, holding out a hand to the small cat who excitedly sniffed your clothes. “Kkoong! Hand? Hand!” You clapped at her obedience, standing back up to approach the microwave that had finished heating up the warm cat food. “Ready? Are you ready, Kkoongie?” You set the bowl down on a dish towel on the floor in the kitchen, carefully sitting down next to her as she intently ate from her bowl. These days, especially without Taemin, it was hard not to be lonely; besides the rest of your friends, Kkoong was the only one you came home to. Sure, getting the occasional call or face chat from him here and there meant the world, but it wasn’t the same as him actually being next to you with his arms around you.
You stood up from the kitchen floor, wiping off the dust now on your pants. You had already changed into your pajamas for the night, waiting no time for Taemin to come home so the two of you could cuddle up and watch TV, like how you used to. Kkoong’s head perked up, but not from the sound of the toys you had been carelessly kicking around; her ears shifted, looking to the back door which, in turn, raised your attention as well. There was now shuffling that had grown louder, and heavy footsteps, ones that would only be because of large boots. You had no time to think as the door creaked open, revealing a mop of dark hair, covering the eyes of Taemin who had come in. In one hand he held his hat, in the other, a very large bag filled with his things. He had dawned the full military apparel set from head to toe, aside from the cap he held in his hand. His hair had grown out quite a bit from when it had been shaved prior; it was dark black, something you hadn’t seen for a while after multiple episodes of dying his hair for different promotions and such. His grown-out bangs were now lazily dangling over his eyes, a small smile creeping up on his face as he opened the door a bit wider upon seeing you.
“Hi,” you said in a small voice, still not expecting to see Taemin despite the fact that you had spent the whole day waiting for him. You saw his smile grow wider, his eyes crinkling up as he set down his bag onto the ground and carelessly threw his hat to the floor as well. Closing the door behind him, he pushed his bangs out of his face.
“Y/N,” was all he said. There was no need to exchange hellos anymore when he was right in front of you, especially after being unable to see him for a few years now. He had never been one to easily be swayed or get emotional by things, even often making fun of you for getting emotional just at small things like an old couple at a restaurant or beautifully grown-out flowers you knew would soon wilt. His cute, crinkled-up eyes fell, not necessarily in a sad way, but he felt himself get emotional. “You’re here.”
“Of course, I’m here,” you said, still not moving from your position in the kitchen. “Where else would I be?” You chuckled to yourself, feeling your throat start to close up as the waterworks began to make their way out.
“I dunno,” he said softly, standing there still as a board. “For some reason, a part of me didn’t think you’d be here waiting for me.” You frowned, your face falling completely at his answer as you made your way over to him.
“Don’t say that,” you told him, throwing your arms around his neck, and pulling him closer in an embrace. You heard him snicker as he wrapped his arms around you, resting his head on your shoulder and breathing in your scent. “Don’t you ever say that again.” He was quiet for a moment, just holding you in his arms, swaying you in his arms as if he’d never let you go.
“Some days,” he started, taking a deep breath and running a hand through your hair, “I didn’t think I’d ever see you again…” You felt your chest tighten at his words, whining and holding him closer which elicited another chuckle from him. “I missed you, Y/N.” He never often vocalized how he felt to you, even to the people closest to him. You knew that he didn’t even need to say it, either; the both of you knew without having to exchange a single word, but hearing it come directly from him in his voice stirred something inside.
“I missed you, too,” you said, enjoying finally feeling his body up against yours again. “Please don’t ever leave again.” He nodded in agreement, keeping his hand up to cup the back of your head.
“I won’t,” he responded, holding you tight. “I’m not going anywhere.” You removed yourself from him, seeing his brows furrow up in confusion for a moment before you cupped his face in your shaky hands, bringing his face closer to yours to kiss him. Sighing against his lips, you could’ve sworn you would’ve gone through Hell and back just to get Taemin back into your life. Each night got harder without seeing him, and now that he was finally here, in front of you, you were not going to let him go. “Mmm… Y/N?”
“Hm?” He removed your lips from his, a small smile creeping up on his lips.
“I want to sit down,” he told you with a laugh, caressing the sides of your face carefully in his hands. “My legs hurt.” He attempted to move forward one step as you continued to cling onto him, arms wrapped adamantly around his torso. “Y/N!”
“Fine,” you muttered, rolling your eyes as you let him go. He laughed, almost like the sound of a sweet bell ringing. He carefully set his things down before leaning down to pick up Kkoong who was still excitedly running around his feet.
“Oh, Kkoongie!” He held the cat in his arms like a baby, swaying her back and forth. “It’s okay—Daddy’s home.”
“I told you not to call yourself Daddy,” you told him snarkily as you helped him move his things. “It’s creepy.”
“I’m her dad!” he exclaimed in response, motioning to the cat. “I gave birth to her!” You snickered, putting her bowl back up on the counter before approaching Taemin again.
“Go get changed,” you said, patting your hand on his chest. “I’ll put on a movie.” You watched him as he retreated back to the bedroom with a low groan of aching pain in his muscles. He almost ripped the uniform off of him, throwing it to the ground before looking at it warily, then kicking it away so he wouldn’t have to see it anymore. He sat down on the edge of the bed with a sigh, putting his head in his hands. He sat on the edge of the bed in a white t-shirt and boxers as well as some black socks. You wanted nothing more than to console him, as you usually did, but something told about his vulnerable position in the room that kept you from bothering him, allowing him to sit alone.
“I’m putting on something random,” you told him offhandedly, not expecting him to respond. You held the remote to the TV monitor that had a list of movies on it, pressing your finger on the arrow and randomly taking it off to see what movie you would watch. Streaming services always did more harm than good, and you never really knew what you wanted to watch; the two of you unanimously decided that a randomly selected movie by a game of chance would work just as well. You lifted your finger off the button: “Spiderman.” You fixed the cushions on the couch, not expecting an answer from him until he slowly walked out, now in a pair of pajama pants.
“Cool,” he murmured, throwing himself down onto the couch with a grunt, opening his arms out. “C’mon…”
You laughed, turning away from the screen to walk away. “I need my glasses,” you told him with a smile, starting to walk away before you felt a hand grab your waist.
“No,” he grumbled, pulling you down onto the couch. “I wanna cuddle.”
“I won’t be able to see the movie,” you said, moving to lean back against him.
“I don’t wanna watch it,” he responded in a low voice, resting his head on your shoulder. He moved his eyes up so that he was looking at you as you turned your head back to look at him. “Wanna kiss you.”
“Okay,” you replied, turning so that you were facing him as he laid you both down on the couch. “I missed you, Taem…” He didn’t respond, instead pulling you in closer by your waist to kiss you. He always liked kissing you, but this one felt needy, almost lonely by the way he held you tight close to him and barely came up for breath. You separated yourself from him for a moment: “Slow down…”
“I hated it,” he mumbled, pressing your foreheads together. “I don’t ever wanna think about it again—I just wanna focus on you, I-I…” He trailed off, running out of breath after talking fast. “I don’t wanna go back.”
“You’re not going back,” you told him, holding his face in your hands. “You’re not. You’re staying here.”
“They kept me there for so long,” he responded in a hushed voice. “It-it’s like I couldn’t escape. I woke up every night, and… I didn’t know where I was. I didn’t get any sleep…”
“I’m sorry.” There wasn’t much you could offer to him other than a pitiful apology and holding him close to you like he was a baby who needed to be swaddled. “I’m sorry, Taem…”
“I just wanna be with you,” he muttered into your chest, taking a hand to run it through his hair which elicited a sigh of relief from him. You already knew that you both would be staying on the couch all night; to be fair, you had no idea what he wanted to do or expect from him. He was a wild card, which wasn’t a bad thing, per se, but you learned to expect the unexpected. He was always in different moods depending on how the day went: He could’ve easily come home overjoyed and giddy or even very horny. You figured today it was a mixture of every feeling that made its way through his brain, simply just holding him close to you to slow down his panicked breathing and to begin to relax.
“I’m glad you’re back,” you told him, holding his head in your hand, caressing his hair softly. “It was so quiet… all the time.”
“It won’t be anymore,” he murmured from your chest, earning a laugh from you. He poked his head up, tilting his face upwards to make eye contact with you. His eyes were sparkly and affectionate, reaching a hand up to touch your face. “Just wanted to feel your touch.”
“We can do anything you want,” you said as he held your face in his hand, feeling his thumb rub up against your jawline.
“I don’t wanna do anything right now.” He blinked slowly, eyes heavy with sleep as he brought your face down to his to kiss you again. You separated yourself from him before he took it any further, sitting up slightly.
“Taemin,” you started, seeing Taemin’s twinkling eyes flash with confusion.
“What’s wrong?” he asked in a hushed voice, still too tired to raise his voice any more.
“I…” You shook your head, feeling your heart pound a million times a minute. “I’m so sorry… I wanted to tell you before you left, but… I got so caught up in other stuff, and…”
“What is it?” he said, interrupting your trailing off thoughts. “Tell me.”
“I-I love you,” you told him, watching his eyes widen as he sat up from laying on your chest. As he sat up, he no longer looked like a small, helpless child. He had a bit more muscle on him compared to before he had left, and he appeared even physically bigger, already being quite tall as well.
“Y/N,” he started, blinking rapidly and cocking his head to the side. “I…”
“You don’t have to say it back,” you said quickly, reaching out a hand to rest on his shoulder. You had meant to tell him so long ago, but you never realized how much you loved him until you couldn’t have him.
“I love you, too,” he responded, his pupils wide. The room was dark, dilating his already large eyes, darkening the irises completely. “I love you.” He said it again, almost as if it didn’t come out right the first time; he watched your reaction closely as you did his.
You chuckled: “I’ll say it a million times if I have to… I love you.” A large grin grew on his face, the sudden confession lifting the mood that he was in as he wrapped his arms around you, pulling you closer to him. You wrapped you arms around him, enjoying being able to hold him and smell his scent against you again.
“I don’t ever wanna move from this spot,” he murmured, holding you tight. “I wanna stay here forever… with you.”
“Now you’re getting too cheesy,” you said, earning a small chuckle from him.
“I am,” he started, taking a shaky breath, “but I mean it. Thank you for being here for me.”
“I’m always going to be here,” you replied. You sounded like a broken record at this point, but there was nothing he needed more right now than the comfort of constant reassurance, and you would readily provide that to him if he so needed it.
“I kinda wanna watch Spiderman now,” he said softly. You removed yourself from him with a chuckle to reach over for the remote.
“I figured you would,” you responded, earning a playful shove from him. “What?”
“No!” he exclaimed with a toothy grin, almost whining like a child.
“You’re very predictable!” He rolled his eyes as he slumped back into the couch, crossing his arms over his chest indignantly, plastering a pout on his face.
“Fine.”
“Oh, quit the pouting,” you told him, giving him a playful nudge in return. “Just accept the fact that I know you well.”
“Is this the Tobey Maguire one?”
“No, it’s Tom Holland.”
“I want Tobey Maguire.”
“That one isn’t on here.”
“I want the Tobey Maguire one. You’re telling me that I come back from the military… the military… and I can’t watch Spiderman with Tobey Maguire.”
“Stop gaslighting me, Taemin.”

Do you have any ultimate biases?
Oh gosh... Where do I even start? Sorry in advance if I forget some groups! (I'm a huge multi-stan)
I have 1 bias for some groups but more than 1 for others.
I'm biased toward the foreign members in several cases.
I'm also biased toward the rap line in many cases.
Whether or not the group leader is among my biases, I wholeheartedly respect them, because being the leader is tough.
Before I get started, please watch this hilarious SEVENTEEN cover of Wonder Girls' "Nobody"! (there are several memes out there because you can green-screen the background into anything you want)

[DIGGING IN] THE ONE AND ONLY SHINee that expanded possibilities in KPOP
SHINee, a five-member group consisting of ONEW, Jonghyun, Key, Minho and Taemin, has been a group that has caught the public's attention since its debut.
As can be seen from the debut song titled 'Replay', they actively took the 'young and cute' image and was praised for their stable skills that supported the team.
Working with fashion designer Ha Sang-baek at the time, they made fresh attempts in visual areas such as fashion, a trend that has become clearer over time.
SHINee is a team that deeply imprinted their identity in the K-pop scene while performing high-quality music regardless of genre.
CBS No Cut News listened to four music critics today (25th) about SHINee's "team" and "music".
TO DESCRIBE SHINee IN ONE WORD
Park Hee-ah, a pop culture journalist, said:
' Contemporary Band' keeps their identity intact. At first, it was a distinct modifier from other teams, but now it has proved what SHINee's contemporary is, and there is no group to replace. There are few groups who are recognized for their vocals, performance in the K-pop scene and are recognized as unique characters for each member, and SHINee is the team that did it."
Jeong Min-jae, a music critic, said:
"SHINee is a One and Only team. Considering that K-pop has been around for about 30 years, starting with Seo Tai-ji, there has never been a group like SHINee before and it is unlikely to be there after that. Since debut until now, they're still unique in terms of music and concept," he said.
Music critic Randy Seo said
"If you describe SHINee in a word, it can be 'quality'.
I think SHINee's presence played a huge role in achieving the current qualitative growth of K-pop. Looking at the completeness pursued and implemented by SHINee, I think other companies or teams may have been stimulated or opened their eyes, saying, "I can do that." I think it has become a starting point for actively attracting various aspects of culture that young people with an eye like, rather than using designer Ha Sang-baek when he debuted or using only the elements that were always distributed in K-pop," he said.
Music critic Cha Woo-jin said
"SHINee is also an important team in Korean music, and I think tgey marked the before and after in their agency, SM Entertainment. Before SHINee, SM's music seemed to have traces of the 90s, such as H.O.T. and Shinhwa.
However, SHINee's base was R&B, and it strongly gave the feeling of 'something has changed' in terms of look and performance, he said.
A GROWING TEAM AND A STILL TEAM AT THE SAME TIME
SHINee was also a team that showed how far K-pop idols can reach musically.
Critic Cha Woo-jin said
"If the role of idols tends to be somewhat undervalued due to the distinction between 'creation' and 'performance', SHINee also showed that performing is very 'creative', persuading them to be 'artists' even if they don't compose."
It is also important to keep the "shinyness." Critic Jung Min-jae said, "This team is doing very well with the 'unique' that has been there since the beginning, and it has maturity and depth, and in some ways, sensuality, but it is still special that this team feels 'boyish'.
In that respect, I think it is important to maintain SHINee's color well," he said. "It seems to be an important point that the team has been sophisticated since it first came out, and has continued to develop its capabilities as a singer without losing a bit of its own territory. Even if there was no dramatic evolution, they became very deep and three-dimensional in their colors"
Journalist Park Hee-ah replied, "What I think SHINee has grown the most is that each person has established their own territory so that certain members are not consumed and wasted."
He also said, "SHINee has shown a break from conventional masculinity, and I think it has a lot of influence on the K-pop scene now.
"The music has always been fresh. At that time, SM was experimenting with electronic music little by little with melodic R&B, and SHINee seems to have played a central role in the transition period.
There were not one or two elements that were out of the framework of K-pop, but we can't leave out the choreos, but SHINee's excellence was that they performed unfamiliar choreographies very well, it felt fresh and fascinating rather than unfamiliar. In particular, I remember being shocked by the youngest Taemin's dance," he looked back.
It seems like a natural flow to give the impression that SHINee members are the leader of "genderless" when they do solo activities, he added.

Hi guys, it’s me again.
I’m the person who made the “if you don’t support this respect Taemin thing you don’t care about Jonghyun” post last week.
I’ve since deleted the post because I thought it was really harsh and unnecessary and I was using words to get people to see my point, but I was angry.
What I wanted people to take away from that post is that Jonghyun would want us to challenge the K-pop industry and not be complacent with it, and saying “Taemin won’t be promoted because that’s just how the industry is” is complacency, and that if Jonghyun was here he would likely vouch for Taemin to get his year end stage, although I don’t know if the outcome would be any different. Guilty may not even exist. Things would be different if he was here but he isn’t.
It’s more about the fact that some non-Shawols took what happened and made it tragedy p0rn which is 100% not ok. However I see a lot of Shawols in defense to this spreading toxic positivity and almost shutting down people when they say they miss him or whatever, and most people only want to focus on cute and funny moments or his talent and not difficult topics.
We KNOW Taemin has struggles with anxiety and depression whether or not he wants to tell us this. The Taemin hashtags came out a day after I saw Holland’s post about wanting to leave the industry and I was just thinking about how closed-minded, homophobic, and static it is. I don’t know whether or not Taemin is queer himself, but he is definitely the target of some anti-queer ideologies because of how he dresses and presents.
I also genuinely believe that SM doesn’t promote his more “challenging” comebacks like “Guilty” because they don’t want to own up to their own mistakes in how they they failed to protect their young idols from harassment. There are many variety show clips of an underage Taemin being jokingly flirted with or hit on by older men and Jonghyun was the only one who seemed to try to do something. I am NOT saying the others didn’t care, I’m sure they were in an awkward position and didn’t know what to say. Key was laughing awkwardly in some of the clips I don’t think he found it funny, he was just trying to ease social tension or it was a nervous laugh. But I guess my point is a lot of people would be afraid to say something to put their careers at risk but Jonghyun gave the guy a warning.
I guess my point was that that we shouldn’t only remember Jonghyun as an amazing singer and artist and a sweet and funny person but also an activist, and one of the only people in the industry at the time to talk about mental health, LGBTQ, and women’s’ issues. But in addition to all that he was also Taemin’s biggest fan and would 100 vouch for him to have better opportunities in a case like this. I felt that saying Taemin won’t get promoted on these shows and we shouldn’t trend hashtags was disrespectful to both Taemin and Jonghyun.
But saying that “you don’t care about Jonghyun” is wrong. Some of you don’t, some of you who aren’t Shawols and don’t get it, and some of you who claim to be Shawols but miss the damn point all the time, or they only care about keeping an image intact. But I can’t say that everyone who disagrees with my way of helping Taemin is unsupportive or doesn’t care. I know hashtags and screaming into the void can come off as pointless or stupid. But I am autistic and have a very strong internal sense of justice, and I got angry and tried to keep spreading the tags to try to help. It didn’t matter because at that point all shows were scheduled. I also feel so helpless in the general state of the world, going on with my life when people are killed in wars and famine and how society feels like it is crumbling. I took hold of something I thought I could have some sway over and did it.
I want to make a formal apology to anyone I hurt with my words. There is no excuse for saying what I said, even if it may apply to some people, it may also reach others who were hurt.
Taemin just posted on Bubble that Yeonjun “relieved him of his sorrow” according to Google Translate, and someone in my group chat translated it to say basically that Yeonjun fulfilled his desire. So I think we can say Taemin is satisfied with Yeonjun’s performance despite him still probably preferring to do it himself. As a Moa, SHINee and TXT have a lot of mutual respect for each other and this is not the first time I’ve seen our fandoms going head to head, like with the light stick thing back in 2020, which was quite frankly stupid. I’m sure Taemin would have preferred to perform himself but he seems satisfied with Yeonjun’s performance and what’s done is done.
I now want to ask you to PLEASE not harass Yeonjun or Kiss of Life for the performance. If you want to get angry at anyone, you can get angry at SM or Golden Disc, but my “conspiracy” about his promotions isn’t even confirmed. It could be a simple business thing where they got fourth gen idols to get more views. The ship on this has sailed, and I’m seeing people still pissed and trying to trend the hashtags.
You should want him to get better promos and you should want the industry to face some of its glaring issues, like debuting such young minors, which Taemin addressed his own experience in Guilty…SM doesn’t want to talk about Taemin or Krystal or Sulli and the fact that Min Hee Jin is still in the industry says a LOT, it’s not only an SM problem but industry-wide.
But this particular issue is over, and we don’t need to discuss it anymore and start fights about it, since Taemin himself said he was satisfied with Yeonjun’s performance.
I want to add one additional note to the people who said that we were infantilize Taemin or treating him as helpless with these hashtags. I respectfully disagree, and believe that Taemin has and will continue to achieve a lot on his own, but having a strong support network is good for adults too, and fans should help artists achieve their goals especially when they are subverting industry norms. Adults also need strong support networks for their mental health, and I’m sure Jonghyun would vouch for that as well, but that doesn’t excuse my wording. All I wanted to do was be a supportive fan but I ended up attacking others. I feel like I need to apologize to Jonghyun too for using him like this.
So my main takeaways are:
1) we should remember ALL aspects of Jonghyun’s life and not ignore his activism or his support of Taemin and we should honor his memory by supporting positive change in the industry and
2) this specific Taemin issue is over, and harassing others over it who disagree with you is not okay, as well as harassing the idols who did the cover.
I just want to say that I will still have the petition for a world tour in my pinned post, and I want to get as many signatures as possible to show Taemin how much support he has and hopefully have it get back to SM as well for them to see the demand. This is one constructive thing we can do for the future. Also I don’t usually say this, but stream stream stream. I don’t support streaming culture on the whole, but Guilty MV really needs it and the song is so good I’m playing it on repeat anyway.
Again, I’m sorry if I hurt anyone, and I thank you for your patience.
-Riah

This TaeKey situation is so messed up. Like, I don't blame people for being upset, or hurt, and wanting to let the guys know that the things they say can affect others negatively...  but at the same time the way this is going down is wild. I never thought I'd see shawols react to them like this.
The number of people(some of them that I've been following for a while, who always seemed mature and level headed) who were positively gleeful talking about Taemin and Key "getting their lashings". Calling them disgusting, saying they deserve what's coming to them, they don't want to see anything from them unless it's an apology "with tears" and all the other generally insulting things that people have been saying about their appearances and them as people.
It's like people were just waiting for their moment to turn. Or they're so desperate to show that they're "good" and they're not one of "those" fans that puts idols on a pedestal that they've gone tol far in the opposite direction and just gotten nasty.
Like, maybe I'm stupid, maybe I am one of those fans that's putting them on a pedestal but I'd like to think that Taekey are generally good kind people who always do their best to be respectful. Of course they're gonna fuck up every so often. There isn't a person alive who doesn't have some kind of internal bias about something, whether they're aware of it or not. But when someone I care about screws up, I would think the best course of action would be to say "hey, I know you probably didn't mean it maliciously, but the connotations of what you said are kind of shitty. Especially to people with darker skin tones and I hope you can consider that going forward" my first thought wouldnt be to call them disgusting and essentially get a megaphone to announce their fuckup all over social media so as many people as possible can see it and join the hate train.
I just hate this so much. And now stupid sm is just editing the video and the members probably have no clue about it and the people who are angry are getting even angrier and even more nasty.
I wish Taekey could address this but unfortunately I really don't see it happening and then it's like, where do we go from here?
Where do we go from here? A good question.
I think that where we don't go, but it's too late because it's already happening, is commenting on Taemin's IG that he should collaborate with Morgan Wallen. How is that helpful? It's disingenuous.
As someone from Canada, TaeKey's words were gross and not cool. But I also understand that they aren't from my culture, and because I watch a lot of Korean content, I know what is seen as acceptable there. That doesn't mean it's acceptable to me personally.
They deserve fans telling them how they feel honestly. And I think in the majority of cases that has happened. But like you say, some people are taking this extremely far and turning it into an excuse to be nasty, when I don't think TaeKey meant anything other than childish/ignorant making fun. That doesn't mean what they said was okay or should be overlooked, but intention and someone's character does count for something, does it not?
People keep leaving all sorts of remarks on IG, WeVerse, Twitter etc so I would say at this point, they should be aware there's a large swathe of the fandom unhappy. I did put my thoughts on WeVerse and Bubble - but I did that once and let it be. I'm not harassing people.
SM editing the video makes it worse because clearly management or at least the YouTube team know about the issue. But from what I heard, they didn't edit it well, and I think that speaks to the lack of knowledge around this issue. The staff members likely don't understand fully what the issue is and how it makes fans from certain areas feel, so they guessed at how to make it better and mostly failed.
Cultural exchange is full of this kind of uncomfortable stuff. It's easier when it's on a personal level, because then we can have a conversation with the person/people directly. We can't exactly do that, but fans have social media to use, which they are.

2019
following eurydice’s departure from produce 48, fans were not given any updates on eurydice. however, eagle-eyed fans could spot her name as a composer on many sm songs released that year. after red velvet’s latest comeback ‘psycho’ went viral, a leak on youtube showed that the demo was sang by eurydice
[C] Baekhyun: City Lights : UN Village
[C] Baekhyun: City Lights : Ice Queen

[C] EXO: OBSESSION : Obsession

after 4 years, eurydice has the opportunity to once again compose a song for nct. eurydice also helped to compose 2 tracks in their second mini album, girls and illusion. eurydice was extremely proud of ‘girls’, especially the bridge that had heavy dubstep influence, however the lack of public affection for the song ‘girls’ disappointed eurydice. instead, they enjoyed the other song she composed and written, ‘illusion’ better.

I'm not a taemin fan but I've learned a lot about him today, and I really appreciate him and his words towards Jimin and there's so much adoration he has on him, like you can see their friendship goes deep despite the lack of presence of camera through the years, and I can also see how Jimin respects and looks up to taemin. They compliment each other so well and they look like brothers lol. And I love how taemin is so sure about his artistry and emphasis on his gender neutral concepts and how he also sees it with Jimin, and yes I think this is like the first time someone properly describe Jimin specifically like that, i never heard bts have that way of words. Anyways, I love your blogs sm 🫶
Thank you, anon 🩷
It's nice to hear your impressions about Taemin, and your thoughts really hit the nail on the head. Those are some of the reasons why I like him as an idol as well. I'm also aware that I've been projecting some of that on Jimin because I wanted him to express himself in a similar way. Taemin often times doesn't just imply what he wants to say, he's using the proper words in the context of his artistry and his projects. You heard him today on Suchwita when he talked about Guilty and what he was trying to achieve. That's why it also stood out to me that perhaps he is the first (outside of scholars and fans on the internet) who actually used the term gender neutral in connection to Jimin. It's no secret or something that shouldn't be talked about, but not even Jimin goes as far as to be explicit when he talks about himself/concepts (think of Filter or his photofolio). It is implied, but without using the appropriate language. Which is interesting to think about at least.

i was just happening to read your ayyo concept analysis and was reminded, did u know snsd tiffanys solo (ijwd <3) was also partially shot at the same pink motel?? i just found it a bit funny that sm returned later for another release
I think the repack was not well planned, but they still made one bcs they could tell ppl wanted it, so it was pushed out half hearted. Lets now set the bar reaaal low they thought. If ppl had given up and we skipped this release, waited until a real new concept (maybe a mini?) i wonder if we might have dodged this mess
idk.. i also think 127 needs another career evolution? like im not sure how or how to put it, but something...preferably outside the nct bubble. socially? with more of the ent industry or? hm i could keep going i just realized haha
i cant believe i didnt recognize the motel but i havent seen that mv in yearsss. ok just went back and watched it and i guess the only part i should have recognized from the ay-yo teasers is the empty pool but otherwise i dont think i would have realized without you telling me bc they mostly used different areas of the motel.
my memory is a bit fuzzy with the details of the repackage timeline but im pretty sure we were told a while ago that there would be a repackage so thats why everyone was expecting one (or maybe not, maybe we just assumed there would be one). i really dont know what kind of strategy they were going for with this awful repackage. but sm are no strangers to delays so i dont get why they couldnt have just delayed it a few more months if they needed more time.
the 127s DO need a career refresh. wayv and especially dream both feel fresh and interesting at the moment even with dream currently promoting a 90s cover song. their concepts feel distinctive and characteristic of their respective subunits and both have progressively evolved over time in a way that makes sense. 127's concept just feels stale :/ i think the 2 baddies concept photos were ALMOST THERE with the jack henry inspired photography especiallyyy his rosalía pics and rob pat pics for gq. i think they could have really pushed the visuals. i would LOVE to see 127 with a bit more edge to them. and instead of worrying about staying as pretty as possible. theyre already pretty they dont need to worry about that. i want to see them be INTERESTING and PUSH THE BOUNDARIES for whats the norm in kpop ok i have a vision. dpr ian is a wonderful example of what im talking about, though i would like to see 127 go with a bit more editorial/futuristic/luxury branding.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
also look at some of the other pics from those shoots im obsessed
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
there are also some really great korean photographers too who have done really interesting work that i think would fit 127 like:
cho gi-seok, an icon. everyone knows cgs! and for a reason! i especially love their matrix inspired series it would be sooo good for 127 but their other futuristic/tech shoots are perfect for 127 too
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pakbae is also great and while they focus more on fashion photography, they do occasionally work with idols for magazines. i love that they always throws a few interesting and unexpected images
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
