Once again GREAT inclusive fashion by designer Kei Hirabayashi.
Those boots were created with wheelchair users in mind, especially people with foot paralysis. Their zippers mean they are easy to slip on/fasten/take off. And they look absolutely amazing, I’d love to own such a pair!

(tw for beauty standards, exclusion, etc.)
I want to talk about the modeling industry and its severe need for diversity.
I'm someone who really enjoys watching runway models on YouTube, I like seeing the different clothes, walks, models, etc. I also really like fashion in general. But, for many reasons, the modeling industry is obviously really really messed up. There is a reason that's a lot worse than this one, but I dont feel comfortable talking about it, and also this fits my blog better.
Representation matters. It's important for everyone to feel seen, valued, and included. When the majority of models we see on the runways are thin, tall, able bodied, and predominantly white, it sends really harmful messages to people who don't fit into these narrow categories. It reinforces unrealistic beauty ideals and erases the beauty of diversity that exists in our world. This lack of diversity not only affects aspiring models who don't fit into the industry's limited mold but also has a significant impact on the self-esteem and body image of people who consume fashion media. It perpetuates the idea that only a certain type of person is worthy of being considered beautiful, which can be incredibly damaging to people who don't fit those standards.
I LOVE seeing disabled models, POC models, fat models, models with scars, etc.
"The industry isn't meant for *insert description here* people. It just doesn't work!" No. That is not true in the slightest! I have seen many fantastic models who are fat, disabled, etc.
We all wear clothes. And those clothes look just as good on minorities as they do on people who fit the beauty standard.
ALSO THE POSSIBILITES?? Models who use mobility aids just have double the opportunity to make a unique look. I want to see a design that incorporates the models mobility aid into it, makes it part of the art. Imagine a fashion show where designers create stunning garments that not only complement the model's mobility aid but also make it an integral part of the overall artistic vision. A beautifully designed dress that flows around a wheelchair, or a pair of stylish crutches that are adorned with intricate patterns and colors. The possibilities are endless, and the results would be truly breathtaking.

just putting this out there… ik i’ve not got a massive following but would anyone be interested if i were to start an etsy or depop to sell my altered/reworked clothes?
my problem is that i looove sewing and embroidery and stuff but i don’t want to have an excess of clothes or to be spending money on clothes that i won’t wear so i’m thinking if i sell them (for a cheap price, like literally just enough to break even) i could fix that problem?
i don’t really have a large social media presence and this account is the one that is focused mainly on my clothes so thought i would put it here.
i don’t really like the idea of running a business per se but it will be more of a hobby!
if ur interested i have posted some of my own crafts on this account in the past and i might post some more later when i get home!!

Inclusive Sizing Tights Rec:
Comfy! Ethical! Inclusive! Durable! Tights!!!!!!
So, I follow @mayakern (lovely shop; 10/10; fantastic designs for skirts, pins, journals; and every interaction with customers I've seen has been honest, down-to-earth, and centered on inclusivity - link to my previous post regarding the skirts here). And I noticed that Maya had recommended a shop a couple of times for tights to go with the skirts. So, I just had to check it out!
The store is Snag Tights. An online store, they have a plethora of tights, chub-rub shorts, swimwear, dresses, robes, towels, etc. And, they have inclusive sizing. I am in love. I ordered three pairs of tights and two pairs of chub rub shorts; this was at the start of May. The clothes arrived within the month and I started wearing them as soon as I could. It's been about a month now, I wear the products almost every day, and I must say: They are comfy, they don't slip down or roll down, they are easy to wash and dry, and there's no apparent wear or tear on them (even the parts that sit between my thighs!!!).
For reference to my size and why this is such a big deal to me: I have to find the biggest pairs of tights at my local Walmart when I go shopping. Even then, those tights are usually uncomfortable though according to the chart on the packaging they should fit me perfectly. They chafe because they don't sit right in the groin/inner thigh, they roll or slide down my legs even while they're too tight around my hips, and they usually have a hole either in the crotch or the thigh within two weeks of wearing them. So, then I tried Pennington's. I love Pennington's, there's a lot of great clothes that fit me there and there's lots of sizes that could accommodate people both larger and smaller than me. But their tights do not fit my body very well. I went for the size that should have fit me, and it had similar problems to the Walmart tights: too tight in the crotch/inner thigh/hip, sliding down, and just not lasting near long enough. I like wearing a lot of skirts and dresses, and the chub rub is Real. It hurts. I need something to be that barrier between my thighs. I've tried using lotions or body butter just to even act as a bit of a lubricant so the thighs don't chafe, but it never really lasts and actual lubricant on my thighs makes me feel gross (it's a texture thing).
So! Snag Tights. I am fully in love with their products so far. There are so many fun colours available and different designs. Here are some links to the ones I purchased so far:
Pride Tights Love is Love
Black Opaque Tights
Raspberry Pie Opaque Tights
Black Stay Cool Chub Rub Shorts
Builder's Tea Stay Cool Chub Rub Shorts
And here's a link to the sizing chart that includes a variety of sizes AND accounts for different body shapes: Sizing Guide. As you can see when you view their products, they have a great range of models who have different shapes, sizes, disabilities, ethnicities, etc. It gives a better idea for me as to what the tights might look like on me before I even buy them.
(Please note: those links are to the Canadian online store, as I am in Canada. The store has different links for different countries, which you can find if you scroll all the way to the bottom)
I really recommend checking them out if you've ever had difficulty finding tights that fit well, whether you're plus-sized or not.
Check out their page on the store's ethics and sustainability; I love hearing that businesses pay their workers a fair and ethical wage, and the environmental conscientiousness is awesome!!!
I hope this post can find someone that needs it, I love spreading the word about good plus-size clothing options!
As always, please don't use this post as grounds to argue about brands/stores/etc. but definitely feel free to like, reblog, and add more suggestions!
And thank you so so much to @mayakern for recommending this store in the asks you've answered! You're the entire reason I found them at all. 💜💜💜

AD ft House Of Flint | Size Inclusive Sustainability.
There have been a lot of conversations around size inclusivity and sustainability recently and the truth is that those conversations come to an end pretty quickly because there aren't enough ethical and sustainable companies willing to make their clothing size inclusive.
And for that reason, when brands like House of Flint, come along, its even more important to celebrate and support them.
House of Flint founder, Jess, started the company, "nearly four years ago whilst living in a caravan at the bottom of a veg plot" which has to be one of the coolest ways to start a business that I've ever heard of.
Tumblr media
Passionate about creating pieces that are not only size inclusive, House of Flint are part of the limited brands offering custom sizing, but committed to pieces that have long lasting use, and can transition with you through the seasons - perfect if you're looking to build a capsule wardrobe.
Primarily handmade by Jess with some freelance assistance, it's such a wonderful knowing that when you buy from House of Flint, so much effort, passion and thought goes into it.
And the passion extends into ensuring that these pieces are adaptive. House of Flint is for all seasons and all bodies, meaning these pieces are designed to consider accessibility needs. So many brands leave this behind in their designs, but House of Flint provide as many details about the garment in advance, so you have all the information you need to make your decision and their always happy to consider how to make a piece more accessible.
Tumblr media
Inspired by Val of @val_and.co I wanted to show the pieces that I'm wearing #styledseated
From detailing the fit, measurements, fabric and colour, to model height, there is so much intentionality that goes into making sure you find what's right for you.
It's also pretty spectacular to see a brand modelling the pieces on a multitude of diverse bodies in order for you to make an more informed decision. In fact on the site, with the ready to buy pieces, you can explore the "fit" section that gives you a clearer idea of how the piece fits on their model and how it might relate to your own body.
For example:
Tumblr media
House of Flint also offers several different options that make investing in their pieces more accessible. One of those options is "Preloved". It takes into account that life and circumstances can change and for whatever reason, if you no longer need that House of Flint piece, you can send the item back and receive store credit towards a new piece.
And what's even more brilliant is that the piece will be mended with love and then still go onto be sold to a new customer, meaning that the lifespan of a House of Flint of piece can truly be timeless.
And that's better for the environment and better for our pockets, too.
I mentioned mending, which also another service offered, you can have pieces repaired, again extending the life of your pieces. Truly meaning that when you invest in a House of Flint item, your investing in something that can be with you for as long as you want it.
There's also a subscription option that allows you to pay towards buying pieces, by investing as little as £10. This is a great way to take away the immediate pressure to spend larger sums in one go.
Tumblr media
There's also currently a sale on, so be sure to check out the website and this summer invest in a House of Flint piece.
