Apple Bets on AI to Revitalize iPhone 16 Sales Amid Slump
With sales declining, Apple is under pressure to revitalize its iPhone lineup and stimulate a new wave of purchases. On Monday, the tech giant unveiled the iPhone 16, featuring a prominent new addition: an external camera button, which hints at the internal innovations designed to leverage the latest advancements in artificial intelligence (AI).
Apple's CEO, Tim Cook, touted the iPhone 16 as a device that will "push the boundaries of what a smartphone can do." However, Apple faces stiff competition from other brands that have already integrated generative AI features into their devices. The company's share price took a hit during the "Glowtime" event, where the iPhone 16 was introduced alongside other products, ending the day unchanged. As a $3 trillion company, Apple is grappling with concerns about falling behind in the rapidly evolving AI landscape.
Sales of the iPhone—Apple's flagship product, which constitutes about half of its total revenue—have stagnated recently, declining by 1% over the nine months leading up to June 29 compared to the previous year. In response, Apple has designed the iPhone 16 with longer-lasting batteries, more powerful chips, and enhanced privacy features. This new model is the first to be optimized specifically for AI and the company's new "Apple Intelligence" tools, many of which were announced in June. These include advanced writing tools, new emojis, and the integration of OpenAI's ChatGPT into Siri for improved query handling and text generation.
Tumblr media
In addition to the iPhone 16, Apple introduced updates to its Apple Watch and AirPods. The new AirPods will feature automatic volume adjustments during in-person conversations and the ability to decline calls with a head shake. The Pro version will also serve as a "clinical grade" personal hearing aid for individuals with mild to moderate hearing loss, pending regulatory approval. This feature is expected to be available in over 100 countries, including the US, Germany, and Japan, starting this autumn.
The product launch was accompanied by protests from a group advocating for better protection of children from harmful content on Apple's App Store. Demonstrators gathered across the street from the event, where a life-sized inflatable resembling Tim Cook was displayed.
The new iPhone 16 will be available for pre-order in September, starting at $799. However, the Apple Intelligence features will not be fully integrated into the operating system until October, with availability in the UK set for December.
Ben Wood, chief analyst at CCS Insight, acknowledged that the new camera control might be perceived as a "glorified shutter button." Nevertheless, he noted that the iPhone 16 includes significant upgrades, such as AI-powered visual search. Wood believes that the combination of Apple Intelligence and advanced camera features will likely appeal to loyal Apple customers, positioning the device as a future-proof investment as new AI features are rolled out over the coming years.
Despite being slower than rivals like Samsung and Google in integrating generative AI features, Apple aims to catch up. Competitors are already incorporating AI into innovative smartphone designs, such as folding and tri-fold devices. Huawei's new tri-fold phone, the Mate XT, reportedly received over three million pre-orders on its launch day.
Gartner analyst Annette Zimmermann emphasized the importance of Apple delivering on its AI promises, noting that the company’s delay in rolling out AI-ready smartphones could impact its reputation and sales if the features are not up to par.

How to Sell Your Used Motorola Moto G 5G for the Best Price?
Tumblr media
As technology continues to advance at a rapid pace, it's no surprise that many of us frequently upgrade our smartphones to get access to the latest features, improved performance, and better camera capabilities. This trend has led to a growing market for buying and selling used smartphones. If you're ready to part ways with your trusty Motorola Moto G 5G and are looking to sell it for the best possible price, this comprehensive guide will walk you through the steps to maximize your resale value.
Assess the Condition of Your Moto G 5G Before you list your Moto G 5G for sale, it's essential to have a clear understanding of its condition. Buyers are often willing to pay more for devices that are in excellent shape. Here's what to look for:
Cosmetic Condition: Examine the phone's exterior for any scratches, dents, or cracks. A device in mint condition will typically fetch a higher price. If there are minor cosmetic imperfections, consider whether it's worth investing in repairs or accessories to improve its appearance.
Screen: Check the screen for scratches and cracks. Even minor damage to the display can significantly affect the resale value. If the screen is damaged, repair it if possible or be prepared to adjust your asking price accordingly.
Functionality: Ensure that all hardware components, including the camera, buttons, speakers, and charging port, are in working order. Buyers expect a fully functional device.
Battery Health: Assess the battery health. Over time, smartphone batteries degrade, leading to shorter battery life. You can check the battery health in the phone's settings. If it's significantly degraded, consider replacing the battery before selling.
Gather Essential Accessories To increase the perceived value of your Moto G 5G, include essential accessories such as the original charger, charging cable, and, if available, the original box and documentation. Having the complete package can make your listing more attractive to potential buyers.
Additionally, consider providing any extra accessories you may have, such as protective cases, screen protectors, or even headphones. These extras can sweeten the deal for buyers and justify a higher asking price.
Perform a Factory Reset and Backup Before selling your Moto G 5G, it's crucial to wipe all your personal data from the device to protect your privacy. Here's how to perform a factory reset:
Go to Settings. Scroll down and select System. Tap Reset. Choose Factory data reset. Confirm the action and follow the on-screen instructions. Ensure that you've backed up any important data, such as photos, videos, contacts, and documents, to another device or cloud storage service. This way, you can transfer your data to your new device and ensure none of your personal information remains on the Moto G 5G.
Determine the Market Value of Your Moto G 5G To sell your Moto G 5G for the best price, you'll need to research its current market value. Several factors influence a smartphone's resale price, including its age, condition, storage capacity, and the demand for that particular model.
Here are some effective ways to determine the market value of your Moto G 5G:
Online Marketplaces: Visit popular online marketplaces such as eBay, Swappa, and Amazon to see what similar Moto G 5G models are selling for. Pay attention to the condition, storage capacity, and accessories included in listings to get a better idea of pricing.
Check Trade-In Programs: Many major retailers and mobile carriers offer trade-in programs where you can exchange your old phone for credit toward the purchase of a new one. Check with these programs to see how much they are willing to offer for your Moto G 5G. While these programs may not provide the highest resale value, they are convenient options.
Use Smartphone Valuation Tools: Several websites and apps offer smartphone valuation tools that can provide estimated resale values based on your device's condition and specifications. Examples include Gazelle, Decluttr, and BuyBackWorld.
Local Listings: Look at local classified listings on platforms like Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace to gauge the prices of used smartphones in your area. Keep in mind that prices can vary by region.
Consult with Experts: If you're unsure about pricing, consider reaching out to experts in the field, such as mobile phone repair shops or experienced sellers, who may offer insights into the current market value of your Moto G 5G.
Choose Where to Sell Your Moto G 5G Once you have a good understanding of your device's market value, it's time to decide where to sell it. Here are some popular options:
Online Marketplaces: Websites like eBay, Swappa, Amazon, and Craigslist allow you to list your Moto G 5G for sale directly to potential buyers. Online marketplaces offer a broad audience, but keep in mind that you may have to handle shipping and potential fees.
Trade-In Programs: Major retailers, including Apple, Samsung, and Best Buy, offer trade-in programs where you can exchange your old phone for credit toward a new device or store credit. While convenient, these programs may offer slightly lower prices compared to selling directly to consumers.
Local Buy/Sell Apps: Apps like Facebook Marketplace and Letgo cater to local buyers and sellers. Listing your Moto G 5G on these platforms can lead to quicker transactions, as buyers often prefer local deals for convenience.
Specialized Buyback Websites: Websites like Gazelle, Decluttr, and BuyBackWorld specialize in buying used smartphones. They often provide instant quotes and prepaid shipping labels, simplifying the selling process.
Mobile Carrier Stores: Some mobile carriers have trade-in programs where you can exchange your old device for credit toward a new one or receive a gift card. Contact your carrier to inquire about their options.
Online Forums and Groups: Consider posting your Moto G 5G for sale in online forums, Facebook groups, or Reddit communities dedicated to buying and selling electronics. These platforms may attract tech-savvy buyers looking for specific models.
Create a Compelling Listing When you're ready to list your Moto G 5G for sale, creating an appealing and informative listing is crucial. A well-crafted listing can attract potential buyers and justify a higher asking price. Here's what to include:
Clear Photos: Take high-quality photos of your Moto G 5G from various angles to showcase its condition. Highlight any imperfections or wear and tear, as transparency builds trust with buyers.
Detailed Description: Write a detailed and honest description of your Moto G 5G, including its specifications, storage capacity, color, and any included accessories. Mention its condition, such as whether it's in "like new" or "good" condition.
Price: Set a competitive and realistic price based on your research. Consider starting with a slightly higher asking price to leave room for negotiation.
Shipping Options: If you're selling online, clearly outline your shipping options, including whether you offer free shipping, the estimated delivery time, and any tracking information.
Payment Methods: Specify the payment methods you accept, such as PayPal, Venmo, cash, or electronic bank transfers.
Return Policy: State whether you offer a return policy and under what conditions. This can provide peace of mind to buyers.
Contact Information: Include a reliable method of contact, such as an email address or phone number, so potential buyers can reach out with questions or offers.
Promote Your Listing To attract potential buyers and increase the visibility of your Moto G 5G listing, consider these promotional strategies:
Leverage Social Media: Share your listing on your social media platforms, especially if you have a large network of friends and followers who might be interested.
Online Forums and Communities: Post about your listing in relevant online forums, Reddit communities, or Facebook groups dedicated to buying and selling electronics.
Utilize Keywords: In your online listing title and description, use relevant keywords that potential buyers might search for, such as "Moto G 5G," "used smartphone," or "excellent condition."
Paid Advertising: On some online marketplaces, you can pay for featured listings or advertisements to increase visibility.
Respond Promptly: Be responsive to inquiries and messages from potential buyers. A prompt response can lead to a quicker sale.
Negotiate and Finalize the Sale When potential buyers reach out with inquiries or offers, engage in respectful and transparent negotiations. Be prepared to answer questions about the device's condition, specifications, and any accessories included. If a buyer is interested, you can arrange a safe and convenient way to finalize the sale:
In-Person Meetup: If you're selling locally, arrange to meet the buyer in a public, well-lit location, such as a coffee shop or shopping center. Ensure both parties feel comfortable and safe during the transaction.
Shipping: For online sales, if you and the buyer agree on a price, you can ship the Moto G 5G using a trusted shipping service. Be sure to securely package the device and provide tracking information to the buyer.
Payment: Agree on the payment method in advance and ensure it's secure. For online transactions, PayPal and Venmo are commonly used. In-person transactions can involve cash or electronic payment apps.
Transfer of Ownership: If applicable, be prepared to provide the necessary information to transfer ownership of the device, such as removing it from your Google or Apple account.
Protect Your Personal Information Before completing the sale and transferring the device to the buyer, take steps to protect your personal information:
Factory Reset: Perform a factory reset on your Moto G 5G to erase all your data and settings.
Remove Accounts: Log out of all accounts linked to the device, including Google, Apple, and any third-party accounts.
Erase Memory Card: If you have an SD card in the device, remove it and erase its contents separately.
Remove SIM Card: Take out the SIM card if it's still in the phone.
Log Out of Apps: Log out of any apps and services you were using on the device.
Check for Residual Data: Double-check to ensure that no personal data remains on the device.
By taking these precautions, you can ensure that your personal information remains private and secure.
Maintain Transparency and Honesty Throughout the selling process, it's crucial to maintain transparency and honesty with potential buyers. Accurately represent the condition of your Moto G 5G, answer questions truthfully, and disclose any known issues or imperfections. Building trust with buyers can lead to smoother transactions and positive feedback.
Be Patient and Flexible The process of selling a used smartphone can take some time, depending on market demand and your asking price. Be patient and open to negotiations. If your listing doesn't generate immediate interest, consider adjusting the price or exploring different selling platforms.
Stay Safe During Transactions Safety is paramount when selling your Moto G 5G. Whether you're meeting a buyer in person or shipping the device, prioritize your safety:
In-Person Transactions: Choose a public and well-lit location for in-person meetups. If possible, bring a friend along. Handle cash transactions with caution.
Shipping: Use a reputable shipping service that provides tracking information. Be wary of any unusual requests from buyers, and verify their identity and payment before shipping.
Consider Trade-In Programs If you're looking for a hassle-free way to part with your Moto G 5G, consider trade-in programs offered by major retailers and mobile carriers. While trade-in offers may not provide the highest resale value, they offer convenience and simplicity. You can exchange your old device for credit toward the purchase of a new smartphone or receive a gift card to use in-store.
Selling your used Motorola Moto G 5G for the best price requires careful planning, research, and attention to detail. By assessing the device's condition, conducting market research, and creating a compelling listing, you can increase your chances of getting a favorable price for your device. Remember to prioritize safety during transactions, protect your personal information, and maintain transparency with potential buyers. Whether you choose to sell through online marketplaces, trade-in programs, or local listings, following these steps will help you achieve the best possible outcome when selling your Moto G 5G.

Realme 6 Pro Vs POCO X2: Who is the new king of Rs. 20,000 segment?
Tumblr media
The sub 20k segment in smartphones in India is a very sweet spot for companies. There has always been a fight in this segment for who becomes the new king. Recently, Realme launched its Realme 6 Pro in this segment with some impressive features like 90Hz display, new Snapdragon 720G chipset, 64MP quad-camera, dual punch-hole front cameras, and a big battery with fast charging. A few days back, POCO India also made its comeback after a long time with its POCO X2. The phone came with an aggressive pricing and amazing features like 120Hz screen, Snapdragon 730G processor, 64MP Sony sensor, dual punch-hole front cameras, and a 4,500mAh battery with fast charging support. To recall, Realme X2 starts at Rs. 16,999 while POCO X2 comes at a starting price of Rs. 15,999. So, now these two, having some common features and starting at a similar price compete with each other in the sub 20k segment. Let’s find out who can be the new king!
Design & Build Quality: Glass Back, Punch-hole
Both the phones come with glass backs and at the front, they have dual punch-hole screens. However, there are a few differences between them in terms of looks and build quality. The Realme 6 Pro sports a Gorilla Glass 5 protected back, but it comes inside a plastic frame. The back panel has a new lightning type effect and it comes in two colors including blue and orange. The POCO X2 also has Gorilla Glass 5 protected back panel and it is packed inside an aluminum frame, which makes it sturdier. POCO X2’s back doesn’t show any gradient effect and comes in three colors including Atlantis Blue, Matrix Purple, and Phoenix Red. The front panels of these phones have dual punch-holes for the selfie cameras. The Realme has the cutouts on the left side while POCO has it on the right side. The size of the cut-outs is almost the same. In terms of bezels and bottom chin, POCO X2 offers more screen space. The Realme 6 Pro is 8.9 mm thick and its weight is 202 g, while POCO is 8.8 mm thick and has 208 g weight. POCO X2 is taller and slimmer than Realme 6 Pro, so it doesn’t feel heavy and you can easily use it with one hand. Both phones have a splash-resistant body. These also have a side-mounted fingerprint sensor embedded in the power button.
Display: 90Hz Vs 120Hz
The Realme 6 Pro features a 6.6-inch Full HD+(2400 × 1080 pixels) LCD panel with a 90Hz refresh rate and 120Hz touch sampling rate. The screen is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The POCO X2, on the other hand, sports a 6.67-inch FHD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) LCD panel with the 120Hz refresh rate. Interestingly, it is the first phone at this price that comes with a 120Hz screen. It also supports HDR 10 and is protected by Gorilla Glass 5. Read the full article
