i am feeling sad and interesting on a bus. i bought a second hand film camera today and now i’m going to buy some film. tomorrow is my loves birthday and I shall treat her very much to whatever she wants. i am tired and snoozy. reading books about converting to judaism and about trauma informed psychotherapy. beep boop. i hope we get the tories out and that trump dies in a hole and that everyone learns to love each other and no one makes war anymore.

I've been searching for a while for a clock that an old guy with fading eyesight can easily use. This is simple clock with an old fashioned wheel on the back that adjusts brightness from very dim to bright enough to see with advancing macular degeneration.

My child inexplicably decided they wanted to lie on the floor at bedtime. Fine, they're happy, we're happy, we'll move them when they're asleep, it's all fine.

I later check the monitor to see that they've climbed back into bed of their own initiative and fallen asleep. Snoozy babby.

Not the most amazing thing, sure, but my heart melts all the same. Five minutes ago they were a loaf! Now they're climbing into their own bed and saying "Beep beep buggy!" and so on!

Kids! Exhausting! But wonderful.

it really is just whatever comes out of my mouth. their nicknames have nicknames.

Day 4 part 2...

After a snoozy day of mostly sleeping, sometime around 6, the boy Activated. I was on the phone when he suddenly pushed his head aggressively into my hand and wouldn’t accept flat-palm pets. It became clear he wanted me to firmly pull my cupped hand over his head and ears. I’d been very gentle petting him before, but tonight I was taught to be less cautious. After a few rounds of this, I decided to make him a paper ring-ball the way I learned with my hamster Beeps. He inspected what I was doing, unimpressed during its construction, but once it showed up with some pellets and a little chunk of apple inside...

In between playing, he displayed the feet-out of Happiness:

He paused for such a long time after finally reaching the celery I got worried, stopped recording and checked in with him. He stayed blanked out a little while longer then munched away and was back to tearing around. Not long after, he suddenly bucked up in the air, kicking up his heels- the first Binky in my home. I didn’t get the second one on film either, but I think if I had a rug for him to get better traction out in the kitchen, this could have been one too.

After almost 3 straight hours of playing I put the toys away and got on my computer as an escape to rest, and hopefully unwind this lively small man before bed. A while later he came to rest at my foot like this:

I’m thinking maybe I’ll call him Sol, because his head looks like a hill, with his hair the rays of sunlight shining out in the morning.

"Thaaaaaanks~." Mic does a wriggle and a soft beep as she is poked, before settling back in. It is snoozy times, after she's sure Monika has gotten out okay. It's bad manners to sleep while guests are around for you!
