William Scrape-speare, Clearopathra, Lord Cold-emort and other hilarious city snow plow names | CNN
I was very disappointed to read this article and find out there was no PLOW TREK: DEEP FREEZE NINE, PLOW TREK: THE NEXT SCRAPE-ERATION, or PLOW TREK: SNOWER DECKS. I feel like we have all failed.
“It’s not a big deal” and “I’m allowed to be disappointed” are not mutually exclusive.
Our long gravel drive way used to be small grey gravel like this.
It snowed about a foot in a day…
Not a problem. To us that usually just means wait 2-3 days for it to melt, but we’re low on chicken feed and we’re going into town for mrs b-day dinner this weekend and the weather isn’t going above 0 all week…
Not a problem. I’ll just hop online and ask around the neighbours for a plow operator. I got a number and gave him a call but he’s not in town today…
Not a problem. He’ll get one of his guys to do it right away. Should be there within the hour. The guy shows up, plows, gets paid, leaves.
When we go out to the feed store two hours later I discovered that he had not only plowed up the snow… He plowed up the gravel!
I texted the first guy to let him know(politely) that his boy did a shit job and now our gravel driveway is a mud driveway. He asked for photos and seems to care… but I feel miserable.
I understand that putting your property in the hands of a contractor has risks.
I understand this isn’t really a big deal and we can fix it later.
I can feel in my bones that my home has been assaulted.
I also know logically that the fact I want to cry about this whole thing is likely an oversized reaction.
Yesterday I came into most of Corinne’s collection and I am loosing my mind. Everything is so cute and convertible!
The fireplace turns into a desk and storage area. The couch turns into a bed.
And my favorite part is the roof comes off to make a ski hill!
However, my 12 year old and I discovered that it takes a graduate degree in dolly stuff to get her dressed to hit the slopes. Also, *whispers* Corinne is not a very good skier. I caught her just before she went careening off the table:
Seems like the pocket dimension has its own climate. Everyone in town got like 2”, and we have over a foot. It’s beautiful, though. And our plow is working so all good.
