I am not happy

I was playing Pillars of Eternity last night, and the game bugged out when my character hit level 10. I can go into the screen but nothing shows up for me to upgrade or learn, and my character doesn't even show on that screen. I've tried to exit and reload but that didn't work, and I tried to retrain my character but that didn't work either. The only option for me is to start over three weeks of fucking progress because god forbid a game not have game breaking bullshit like this like with Snowrunner.

And what's worse this time around is that it's not so easy getting that progress back, and it's so close to my birthday too which is on the 15th. So yeah, that's nice. I guess it's my fault for trusting a game to not have a bug like this and it's my fault for not saving in multiple slots.

Je ne suis pas un adepte des jeux de simulation et de gestion, bien que certains m’ont agréablement surpris et m’ont vraiment captivés : Farming Simulator 2019, SnowRunner testé sur Xbox One. Aujourd’hui, je m’attaque à un tout nouveau jeu de simulation et de gestion mais cette fois-ci sur la console de Nintendo, la Nintendo Switch ; il s’agit de Farmer’s Dynasty qui est déjà sorti sur PC, PS4 et Xbox One depuis novembre 2019. Le jeu est disponible au prix de 44,99 euros sur la console de Nintendo, édité par NACON. Personnellement, je n’ai pas testé le jeu sur les autres supports, j’attendais avec impatience cette version pour une simple et bonne raison : pouvoir ainsi l’emmener partout avec moi, pouvoir s’occuper de sa ferme partout où l’on va ou bien pour tout simplement faire quelques tâches quotidiennes sans pour autant être obligé d’allumer la TV quel bonheur. Faut-il craquer pour cette version ??? La réponse dans l’article, même si le titre de l’article en dit déjà long sur le sujet !!!

Farmer’s Dynasty c’est QUOI  ???? Et bien nous incarnerons un jeune ingénieur qui aura tout juste hérité d’une FERME, ferme qui appartenait à son oncle. Lors de notre venue, nous somme accueillis par notre “futur” voisin : Olivier, qui s’occupe de la ferme depuis la mort de notre oncle. Notre cher Olivier, nous présentera la ferme en nous expliquant qu’elle tombe en ruine et que tout le matériel agricole (tracteur, remorque, moissonneuse) a été vendu, ce qui se verra tout de suite puisque nous ferons le tour du propriétaire en compagnie de notre voisin et au vu de l’état des bâtiments, il nous explique au passage les différentes fonctions de chacun d’entre eux : le poulailler, le silo, la grange…. Mais avant qu’Olivier parte, nous allons vite le retrouver, car il nous impose une petite épreuve, pas bien compliquée puisqu’il faudra remettre en état la porte de la grange qui ne s’ouvre plus, LA CHANCE d’incarner un ingénieur qui peut TOUT réparer, à noter que notre personnage ressemble plus à BOB le bricoleur, qu’un fermier avec sa chemise à carreaux rouges/jeans et les outils attachés à sa ceinture 🙂

Une chose est sure, il sera très simple de réparer n’importe quoi dans le jeu ; il suffit d’une simple pression sur le bouton (X) pour voir apparaitre une palette où plusieurs actions seront possibles et d’appuyer sur (R) pour les faire défiler, puis de lâcher la gâchette pour sélectionner l’action voulue : Main libre, Réparer, Monter/Désinstaller échafaud, un vrai bricoleur je vous dis. Après 4-5 essais, on s’y fait très vite, une fois équipé de sa perceuse ou ponceuse – tout est à porter de mains – en restant appuyé sur la gâchette R, notre fermier activera son Ultra instinct … heu… sens qui permettra de trouver tout ce qui doit être réparé (affiché en rouge). Il ne restera plus qu’à appuyer sur (Y) pour réparer et hop le tour est joué !!! Une fois cette petite épreuve passée, n’ayant pas de tracteur – ce qui est ballot pour un fermier – mais pas de panique, Olivier notre sauveur est là !!! Voici notre première et véritable mission pour obtenir ce “tracteur”. Olivier nous proposera de réparer un bâtiment sur sa propriété et en contrepartie, nous repartirons avec le précieux : tracteur de marque JACK BEAR, mais ce n’est pas tout car nous gagnerons également des points sociaux (débloquent certains personnages ou missions …).

Pendant plus de 7 heures de jeu, je n’ai fait que réparer, réparer encore et encore pour obtenir différents matériels nécessaires pour cultiver les champs de notre ferme ou pour l’élevage de nos bétails. Ce qui devient vite embêtant sur certaines missions au vu des récompenses, puisque labourer un champ qui demande déjà énormément DE temps, puis ensuite réparer une serre et une seconde, puis pour finir avec la grange, tout ça pour une REMORQUE ????  Les habitants nous prendront vraiment pour un “pigeon” ??? Rajoutez qu’il faudra faire cela pendant plusieurs heures de jeu, la patience est de mise ici, dans de rares moments nous pouvons même gagner quelques euros. Après avoir acquis différents matériels nécessaires pour s’occuper de nos terres, il est temps de se lancer, mais encore faut-il accrocher au jeu ??? Pour ça, il faut du courage !!! Sur le papier, cette version Switch avait tout pour plaire : s’occuper de sa ferme de A à Z, il y avait même un air de “l’amour est dans le pré”, puisque l’on pouvait y fonder une famille, MAIS tout cela tombe à l’eau pour diverses raisons et la PLUS IMPORTANTE est : le jeu est vraiment instable quasi injouable sur quelques actions, rajoutez à cela que le jeu est techniquement à la ramasse c’est moche !!!!

Famer’s Dynasty est quand même proposé à 45 euros sur Nintendo Switch, avoir un jeu à ce prix-là qui rame dans la majeure partie du temps, passez votre chemin clairement !!!! Jouer à 30 FPS puis de passer de 12-15 cela fait très mal, je peux vous le dire, mais le mal ne s’arrête certainement pas là … Techniquement, nous pouvons pas nous attendre de cette version Switch qu’elle soit aussi belle que sur les autres supports, mais là, quand-même, les personnages sont d’un grossier, les véhicules manquent cruellement de détails, je ne parlerais même pas des bâtiments, je conseille vivement de jouer en mode portable qui cache “un peu la misère”, une fois sur son dock AIEE AIEE AIEE, les yeux pleurent. Mais comme je le disais, le mal continue ailleurs car le jeu est rempli de bugs : bâtiments, champs, animaux apparaissent/disparaissent d’un coup, véhicule qui se trouve bloqué par quelque chose d’invisible au sol,… Même la bande-son n’est pas là pour rattraper l’ensemble plus que moyen du titre. Bien que la musique reste assez douce à écouter, même elle et l’ensemble des bruitages se mettent à bugger : son qui disparait pendant plusieurs minutes et revient comme par magie, bruits des différents véhicules qui se ressemblent quasiment tous et qui se payent même le luxe d’avoir aussi des micros coupures, rien ne va, je vous dis !!!

Quel dommage d’avoir foiré un tel portage qui avait tant à apporter sur la console de Nintendo, le fait de pouvoir gérer sa ferme de A à Z, s’occuper de ses différents champs, cultures et différents animaux tous les jours se prêtaient à merveille sur la Switch, tout en se liant d’amitié avec ses voisins et même rencontrer l’amour et y fonder une famille ; le jeu a son côté SIMS, puisqu’il faudra également surveiller que notre personnage mange et dorme correctement, s’il meurt de faim par exemple, il ne pourra pas courir. Il faudra également faire attention à nos différentes récoltes et à la santé de nos animaux. Ce côté simulation est très bien vu et fonctionne très bien !!! Une fois dans un véhicule, on aura également plusieurs points de vue de la caméra, il s’agit de vue plus éloignée, ainsi qu’une vue dite “cockpit” qui reste assez sympa, autre petite surprise le fait d’avoir un régulateur de vitesse activable/désactivable à tout moment, ce qui permettra d’avoir la vitesse maximale d’un véhicule sans pour avoir l’obligation de rester appuyer sur la gâchette pour avancer, idéale lorsque l’on fait un champ ou bien des grandes distances, cela évite d’avoir des crampes aux doigts, sache que l’on fera pas mal d’aller et retour cela aide beaucoup. D’une simple pression sur le bouton, la carte apparaitra, elle nous permettra de voir les différentes missions proposées par les habitants ou bien de voir où nos véhicules, accessoires agricoles sont placés ainsi que les différents bâtiments : garages, magasins… A noter qu’une fois dans un véhicule, nous aurons la possibilité de se téléporter de l’un à l’autre d’une simple pression sur la croix directionnelle gauche.

Concernant la durée de vie du jeu, celle-ci sera illimitée, si toutefois les défauts du jeu ne vous bloquent pas, ce qui fut mon cas au bout de 13 heures de jeu. Pour le moment le jeu n’a profité d’aucune mise à jour pour gommer toute ces imperfections, pas sûr que cela arrive un jour et pourtant je l’espère, ne serait-ce qu’avec un patch de correction pour des FPS stable à 30 FPS qui améliorait grandement la sensation de jeu.

Conclusion 

Bien qu’elle ait tout pour plaire cette version Switch est clairement à oublier !!! Techniquement le jeu est moche, les personnages sont grossiers, idem pour les bâtiments, je ne parle même pas des détails des agricultures et des animaux, les véhicules s’en sortent un poil mieux, Farmer’s Dynasty s’offre également de belles chutes de framerate (FPS) qui passent de 30 à 12 – 20 FPS, rajoutez des bugs à tout va. La bande-son n’est pas là pour relever le niveau qui elle-même a des bugs sérieux !!! Bien que le jeu proposait des choses bien intéressantes : élevages, réparation de bâtiments, avoir des relations avec ses voisins, avoir une famille, mais qui est malheureusement entaché par le côté technique du jeu à la ramasse total !!!

SnowRunner patch fixes some of the biggest issues on PC

SnowRunner is out, and it's terrific - but there have been some technical problems on PC, especially in co-op. A new SnowRunner patch is here to address some very specific issues, and they cover just about every big issue we've had with the game, from trouble getting multiplayer sessions going to vehicles falling through the ground.

The new hotfix ensures that your friends list will properly appear when you launch the game - though you might still have issues if you're coming to the main menu from another session. You'll also be able to properly receive co-op invites when you're in a different multiplayer game, and there are some general connection improvements, too.

It also addresses a collision bug that made trucks fall through the ground, and with that, pretty much every issue we had in our own multiplayer sessions ahead of Ben's SnowRunner review are now fixed. It was a lovely time even with the issues, and will certainly be an even better time without them.
