#currently moving to a new place right now #my house is currently occupied by my brothers family #wife and 2 kids #they got evicted recently #and apparently theres some unknown rule that single male (even if hes a faggot) cant live in the same house with someones wife (even though #that someone is my own brother) (and im still a faggot)#so my mom made me move from my own house to a small house provided by my brothers father in law #ok cool at least i got somewhere to live #but i have to move everything #clothes #computer #everything #to here #and i have to pay for everything #not my parents #not my mom #me #and turns out the house is broken as fuck #no furniture #no internet #not even a bed #so they asked me to fill it up #and of course i have to pay for eeeverything #did i mention its not my house #and because i still cant live there while its being fixed up #i have to live with my mom #im so fucking annoyed about this whole thing #its not fair how im being used like some kind of sacrifice for this shit #this whole thing ends up costing almost my 2 months wage worth #and my father

I wasn't gonna make an Indigo Park oc but then I started thinking about the theme park I went to as a kid and I got the idea of a beaver running a ride based on water flumes like Logger's Run or Splash Mountain :3

They're also based on wildlife education characters like Smokey the Bear and Ranger Rick!

Super sexy me is so sexy I accidentally set off the fire alarm while baking pie shells for my pumpkin pie. And now I don't know if I should've even baked them in the first place. But well. Too late now 👍

#speculation nation #i am not a fucking baker so something always goes wrong when i make these pies 😭😭😭#but i am craving my grandma's pumpkin pies... i gotta bake them myself if i want them rn...#see the thing is ive previously bought pre-baked like. graham crusts #but i was like 'that crust sucks lets get a different thing'#so i got tbis dough shit that i put into pans. the box said to bake it. and so i was like ok cool #then as they were in the oven i looked at the pumpkin pie recipe for starting the filling #and then saw that it says 'unbaked shells' and so 😥😥😥😥#but too late now and it worked fine with the graham. and well. the filling is what i care about the most.#the crusts are just an excuse for having pie filling.#anyways i did set off the alarm. i think it's bc the oven was on so hot #the box says 450 which is hotter than i ever usually do. the pies themselves ask for 350 #so well i turned the oven off and i have the microwave fan running #which oh yeah the fucking handle to my microwave fucking broke. it fucking broke.#i think i'll duct tape it or smth lol. microwave itself works fine still. and i dont want people in my apartment.#it's just the bottom part but it sure did just. splinter off. that shit is Broke broke.#and i scared the shit outta my cats And me with that damned alarm. and now i am just waiting.#calming down some. chilling the crusts. soon i will resume making the pie filling.#it's not like it even takes much time i am just. You know, I'm glad that some of us take the step to embrace things that we like even if they're "cringe" or "objectively bad"

But perhaps we could take the next step forward and embrace the idea of reading into books/shows/movies/etc even if they don't seem deep. Perhaps we could understand that the two kinds of media aren't either "shallow and meaningless so you're weird and brainrotted to read into it" or "incredibly and profoundly deep in every way so if you don't analyze every single angle of the thing then you're brainrotted". Some media is deeper than others, but all I propose is that no matter how deep it seems it's acceptable to dig into the thing and take the media seriously instead of just assuming that because of ____ thing (such as target audience or how cringe it is) the media not deep and will never be deep and everything good about it happened on accident.

#I LIKE Dostoyevsky. I like how mysterious and unreadable he is. What is his goal!!!! Why does he do what he does!!!!!!! He's very cool #I think knowing his ability now REALLY adds to his character. Him being so smart so manipulative so disruptive in the way he–#seemingly kills people on touch! Only added to this impression of him being “demon” and “inhuman”#But now that we know his ability you realize... That's all his doing; no ability.#His ability in a way does help humanize him by reaffirming that except for the moment he dies– he's got no superpower at all!!!#It's just him.#And yet at the same time also solves the exact opposite role of dehumanizing him because if it's not his ability that makes him like *that*#then he's even different than other ability users!!! Then‚ if not an ability user‚ if not a non ability user: what is //he//?#It's all SO compelling!!! Also makes for an extremely insightful narrative parallel with Dazai #Not an ability user not a non ability user. Not good not evil. (I feel like Dostoyevsky does exceed the definitions of good and evil as–#much as Dazai does. If he causes evil‚ yet does so with the intention of bringing salvation to humans– is he really *simply* evil?)#Both have these borderline superpowers that make them extraordinary beings (we can call it super intelligence‚ but it goes from controlling #their own heartbit to everything else) but are unrelated to their respective abilities! Once again making them neither this or that #I find Karma's words at the end to be extremely insightful.“Ace was evil for sure‚ but this man isn't even evil.#He's a being from the beyond. A being that exceeds human limits.” Like!!! That's all that there is to it!!!!!!#Back to this chapter / episode. There's some themes / worldvies once again I don't agree with but narrative wise I think it's extraordinary #I feel like after the Guild arc the writing really matured a lot and this is a kind of preview of what the doa arc is going to be like #(aka very very well written especially if compared to the previous arcs)#The plot twists of this episode are all so unpredictable and exciting!!! I think it's remarkably witty how it takes advantages of previous–#clichés - villains always revealing details about their own ability in a way that is quite baffling - to actually surprise the audience.#It's so effective. How skillfully unpredictable Dostoyevsky is to the point you can never guess what he will do next!!!#Him killing Karma is... Idk so so soooooooo interesting. I could talk about this forever but I'm being very dispersive in the rable and–#running out of tags. The whole episode you're sorta rooting for Dostoyevsky. He's very cool and comes out charming in the way he keeps–#surprising the audience. He looks bothered by Ace's disregard of other people's lives and that makes him sympathetic too.#But then he kills Karma out of nowhere and it's an “Ah! You fell for his lies too– remember he's nothing but evil. He cares just as little #about life as Ace does”. And then??? Karma in his last words is himself so generous in his words to Dostoyevsky. It's baffling.#And it almost feels like thenarrative is once again turning around and telling you you should root for Dostoyevsky.#It's endlessly fascinating.#I have more to say about the worldviews I don't share and the art style Dostoyevsky was portrayed with this episode (love it!!)#But alas ran out of tags

#welcome to another Mick Airs Out Their Grievances and by god is it a VERY long one #prob best if u don't expand the tags #am I being maybe a bit meaner about this than I would be for any other movie? maybe but pac rim is one of my favorite movies of all time #so I think I get a pass on this one.#one of the groups on campus is hosting movie nights & I went to this one bc I've only ever watched pac rim on my laptop and wanted to watch #it on a larger screen. yay yippee I love this movie!#there r maybe 10-ish of us in this room and a three person friend group is sitting on the couch one of whom has seen the movie and two who #have not. okay so far so normal.#and then the movie starts and they won't! stop! fucking! commentating! the whole fucking movie!!! I don't have a problem with doing that #when I'm in just my friend group because I know that I can tell my friend to stop talking or pause the movie or whatnot but not when I'm in #a large group w people I'm not good friends with ffs #and the comments aren't even funny or anything they're all oh this is JUST like in iron widow!! oh they're SO gay and autistic!!! and #they're talking so loud about this that it completely drowns out the movie audio which has already been turned up a few times #like. be considerate!! some of us want to yknow actually listen to what's going on and not whatever bullshit you're saying #I nearly walked out three or four times before I actually wound up doing so #I may have been a bit of a bitch at the end but I don't care. I got up to leave because this was not an enjoyable environment and one of #them offered to turn the movie down if it was too loud. this caught me a bit off guard since I expected them to still be so wrapped up in #their convo and. well. I may have said 'it's not the movie that's too loud' before closing the door #this also reminds me a lot about my issues with online shipping culture and it bleeding through into how we interact with media irl #this is probably heavily influenced by my aromanticism but I'm so sick of people constantly reading romantic relationships into everything #AND placing more importance on those relationships than any other form. I don't mind romance in media. I think if done right it has great #emotional impact on a story but when a movie is running and when other people who may not want to hear it are in the room watching it too #is not the time to be loudly saying 'he's autistic!' 'they're in love!' 'she has a crush on him!'#I have my own interpretations of the movie some of which agree with what they said and some of which don't but that's beside the point of #knowing how to coexist politely in public #anyway. I think they were awful and annoying and they ruined my night out.#I think I'm just so incredibly mad about this because I love the movie and I was looking forward to watching it in a group of people who #found it cool as well while still having some modicum of politeness #I almost wish I had been meaner but that's the extreme annoyance talking I think #hater hour over love u guys bye

#i think several other reasons the breaks in between tour dates and albums feel dry include #constant fandom policing to the point where people avoid interesting discussions out of fear their words will be twisted #people ignoring newer content creators' work which discourages them from sharing their creations #nitpicking the content we DO end up receiving and/or begging for the next 17 things instead of appreciating it #people prioritizing stan wars instead of enjoying the music and community #and along the same vein fans acting pretentious as if they're too cool to be here 🍅#and of course people spoiling everything for the others (misbehavior at sessions or people ruining midnights mayhem with me)#fandom is what you put into it i guess so the only way to make these breaks more bearable is to turn things around #btw i don't think there's anything inherently wrong with taylor taking breaks at the end of the day she is a human with her own life #i do expect more promo in april (i actually think there hasn't been much because A) rest and B) let other artists have their moments)#but i also understand people missing her and missing the liveliness this place has when stuff IS happening

torn between going to the team pregame party so i can have a slightly negative but mostly neutral last impression of the night or (not really actually) lying about getting a headache and just going to bed so i dont have to see anyone else tonight

#context im absolutely pissed at everyone :thumbsup:#our game today was GARBAGE. it started off ok but then the second we get scored on everything goes off the rails #i didn't dress today (played yesterday and hadn't been scratch in a while) so i literally could not do a thing to help that #(my game was good i played well and vibes were decent)#vibes were not decent after today #IT WAS SENIOR NIGHT. IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE FUN.#i worked so hard on one of the gifts it was a hand (digitally) painted portrait of each of them!! it took me a month but turned out so cool #it burnt me out though.#and they liked it which is good :)#but this was supposed to be the end of the stress and then we were supposed to have fun !!#but then everyone decided to give up in the third and then everyone hates each other now.#one of the seniors went to the front of the room and basically called everyone out for giving up when she was the one who gave up most #which like fine. whatever. uncalled for but we can move on #but it's also my buddys bday so our class took her to get dinner to celebrate #but then the whole time they trash talked the team and or coach #and didn't include her at all #and im just mad now. im so mad about that #they didn't even notice she hadn't said a word in 20 minutes #we were going for her!!! to celebrate her!! and yall cannot put aside twenty minutes to have a good conversation with her!!!#what the heck!!!!!!!!!!#and then when i brought it up near the end to my old roommate and good friend she just went “oh its fine” NO ITS NOT>??????>?#i dont want to go. but i dont want to end it like this #and everything hurts. my body just hurts.#im tired my head hurts my hips are KILLING me #im so done

made the realization my vampire story would work best as a video game and now i can't stop thinking about it

#personal #like. vtm meets cyberponk. do you understand #it would be very focused on prioritizing... because you do play as a fully established character #but you get a bunch of jobs to take care of and you have to decide what you do first and most importantly how you solve it #you can combine certain jobs to do at once to save yourself time and effort but everything you do comes with consequences #if you ignore a problem for too long or deal with it poorly it will come back to bite you in the ass later. you can lose friends and such #basically you have it all from the start and then gradually like. work your way towards a single ending #locking yourself out of other paths because of the choices that you make etc etc and so on #friendships can help you out but they can also get in the way of other things so you have to think about like #how far you're willing to let yourself get distracted. but also no distractions is also a bad way to go at it because you'll end up alone #it would have a wide variety of endings but i suppose the 'canon' one would be the one where everything works out #because of the whole already established character thing. and also this is not real this is my story so i can do what i want #if it was an actual video game it wouldn't have a canon ending but it's never gonna happen so i can say it has a canon ending #but yeah you can play as heavenly the vampire hunter or as sun the vampire and then you get cool vampire abilities :]#i do like the idea of romance availability but they're different depending on who you play as #valentine can be romanced by both but he's a little brat so idk if you'd want that #isaac can only be romanced by heavenly because isaac is a gay man. valeska can be romanced by sun only because #valeska and heavenly are exes. so you can have a one night stand with her as heavenly and then she ghosts you LMAO #you can go into clubs... you can play carousel with npcs. it would be a very immersive experience #if you hang out at certain clubs too much then other vampire factions will be warier of you when you visit their club instead #you can forge alliances to be allowed into certain areas in town. you can disguise yourself. you have to hide your weapons #there's actual ways you can research locations or people involved in gigs so you can prepare yourself properly and potentially like #learn new things that open up a new way to deal with a situation #sometimes you have to wait until nighttime to be able to go somewhere because it's quieter around those hours. or vice versa #sometimes you have to wait a few days before someone can meet with you but if you miss the meeting you have to reschedule #and then you have to wait even longer. and some quests don't give you that much time so then you'd have to improvise #being spotted in a location can be dealt with by wiping security footage / killing the person who saw you. or just reloading your save #but if you've been spotted and you don't take care of it then that will ALSO have consequences. etc etc and so on #difficulty level in the game would determine how generous the game is surrounding stealth / time for quests / resilience of the guy you pla #and it wouldn't like. necessarily turn enemies into bullet sponges because that's lazy. it's much more fun to change other things

What gets me about certain people being so fucking pissy about Bob not writing much about Eilistraee (until the last fucking trilogy where EIlistraeans featured heavily) is that

a) Bob basically built drow culture up from almost nothing, and Eilistraee came after he started writing Drizzt

b) no you guys really don't understand. I own the first 4 modules drow appeared in. There's... not much there. And it hasn't aged well.

c) and the Big One: he has a specific vision for his specific characters when it comes to the narrative he wants to explore, from sexual abuse to religious trauma, both of which are fucking complicated and for most people just switching deities isn't enough to fix that.

I have religious trauma that I still struggle with to this day and probably will for the rest of my life to some extent, and it's fundamentally different in nature from what most people would probably expect, and the thing is even though I am happily polytheistic and very enthusiastically into it, I still struggle a lot with certain things because every time I get into my religious practice I have to actively force myself into (or out of) certain things because my whole relationship to religion and spirituality is complicated and messy.

It would be easy and frankly incredibly superficial for Bob to decide to just have them all convert to half-assed Neowiccan ~woo~ drow Jesus Eilistraee to *~*save their souls*~* and call it a day

BUT HE DIDN'T DO THAT

Partly because she wasn't his creation and other authors were writing her at the time so he really couldn't, and partly because it's a shitty message to send.

Sometimes people benefit from converting to a new religion or following a new deity. Sometimes people don't.

I benefited from gradually converting to my religion, but it's come with a whole different set of complications and hasn't been a smooth journey for me.

Just going from extensive religious trauma to switching deities does not fix your problems, and for a lot of people it realistically can make them much worse.

you don't have to be saved by a deity in order to have value as a person

#I fucking WAS saved by a deity and while I'm grateful it wasn't an easy ride #and in fact the way certain people in my family treated me was very emotionally abusive #to this fucking day on a journey that's taken me 19 years I STILL have issues with this whole thing #there are some people I may never speak to again because of how they treated me over this #for a Lolthite drow I could easily see them struggling with switching to a new deity especially one like Eilistraee or Vhaeraun #who are NOT seen very positively at all in the society they were raised in #and for a lot of people the fear of being found out and punished is more than enough to prevent them from seeking out a new deity #to say nothing of the already existing religious trauma that would also just as likely make someone hesitate to embrace a new religion #and speaking AS a religious person I do not at all agree with sending the message that traumatize people need to be saved by a god #or by a religious fanatic #my case is extremely unique and while it more or less worked out in the end it was frankly hellish at its worst points #and it cost me a great deal in terms of my relationships with my family and my ability to trust other people #because the way society frames belief in the Greek gods as some distant thing in time like #'haha these people were so STUPID. they believed in gods that turn into swans and stuff'#has absolutely led to a situation where paganism is only cool and okay if it's the woo crystals and sage Neowiccan aesthetic #but actually being a historically based polytheist is conflated with mental illness #and it's damn near impossible to challenge when most modern people have NO understanding of polytheism and take everything literally #as someone who has had to FIGHT just to continue EXISTING as a polytheist I am still FIRMLY against the idea that people NEED religion #in order to have value as people or to heal #yes for SOME people it works. for others it doesn't. AND THAT'S OKAY

Oh no... When you post a fic and it does well enough that you make it a multichapter but that first part was a fluke ahhhhhhhhhh

#I never get more than two comments or so on my weird-ass fics #So I was SHOCKED to get more #And I have trouble with motivation because by the end of a multi-chapter #No one's reading #BUT I THOUGHT I MIGHT BE GOOD #BUT OH NO IT'S AS BAD AND BORING AS I THOUGHT IT WAS #I see a couple comments in my inbox but I think those are good friends #And I feel bad like they're OBLIGATED to read #I'm afraid to look and read them tbh #And I know you only get less interaction as a fic goes on #Oh no I dared have a bit of confidence in myself and it BACKFIRED #WHY DO I DO THIS TO MYSELF #I have the next chapter already written but... oh boy motivation will be fun #I feel bad I turned it into a bland multichapter instead of leaving it as-is RIP #Well at least it has the most kudos out of everything I've written when it was a one-shot?#That's cool #OKAY I NEEDED TO RAMBLE onto the acceptance stage of grief now ignore me #(I have a lot of bad experience from sharing my work and it's especially hard when I care about it that's all)#Yadda yadda
