here is another silly thing about alphinaud. is that he loves to Get information he’s like a little information magpie but as soon as he gets it he latches onto it for the next several days to weeks. he finds out that spending money is something you need to be careful about he’s going to bring it up and be extra frugal every time he buys something for a week. he learns how to collect firewood he’s going to volunteer for it as if he is already very good at it and knows a lot about it. alphinaud is the kind of person to learn a fun relevant fact about birds and tell you, as soon as it comes up, this fun fact about birds that he’s been dying to tell someone for hours. someone let him infodump about social policy

My favorite old Neopets plots are the ones where it's just staff members dying in horrible ways

the best part is not only were there two separate plots involving TNT getting brutally murdered (the Ski Lodge Murder Mystery, shown above, and Sacrificers), but they remained on the site for so long that you could continue to view the surprisingly gory content year after it became a more family-friendly site

...Um. Super, super late DP Invisobang 2023 art?

The fic by Rockity Sock is still an unpublished WIP so far, but it's really nice and will hopefully be completed and published later.

It begins at the end of the Ultimate Enemy episode, with Dan getting trapped in the thermos. And... I'm not sure how much I can say without spoiling it, but a lot of really cool stuff happens. It's a psychological type of fic, about different types of prisons and punishments, and has time stuff and pocket dimensions, and redemption stuff. (I was only planning on drawing one illustration for IB, but when I saw the WIP, I wanted to see so many things animated. So many awesome visuals. I wish I could've animated them all.)

This is the part I did animate:

He just walked for now, searching for the tiniest crack. The darkness went on for seemingly forever though, and no matter how far he walked it kept on going Dan kept moving He tried his best to break through the walls but every ectoblast he formed fizzled out. Fading into the darkness. Oh, now it makes sense. His powers are being limited, it takes him a few more tries to believe it. The fact that he’s trapped with nothing whatsoever. Endless hours spent, and wasted. Powers he has built up from the ground with no mentor, ones he trained endlessly after a decade. Gone, disappeared, muffled. Limited. Dan let out a laugh, one with no humor. A laugh that turned into a cackle, he couldn’t stop.

#invisobang 2023 #danny phantom #dan phantom #animation #asj art #...this took so much longer than it should've D:#I think it has 232 images of Dan.#I tried a few things for the fog rustle sound effect but I think I went with rubbing my hand back and forth across a soft comforter blanket #(I was originally going to go with swishing my hand back and forth inside a wet bowl but it'd ended up sounding like dry leaves.)#the cape sound effects are from snapping a little throw blanket up and down.#I forget now exactly what I'd used to made the zap sound. It took some time in Cakewalk to figure out and I'd tried looking up tutorials.#The moving background was made by making a 'bg tile' that I could stack horizontally.#And for the fog on the 'floor' there's 8 cycling images at the start of the animation and 9 cycling images for the end of the animation.#For the spin I was going to make 112 frames for the background ...but after working on it for awhile I realized it'd take really long. :/#So I reused the background tile but put it in reverse and overlaid a rotation version at the end. (...though the fog obscures a lot of it)#I'd used the magicposer website mannequin as reference to draw the key frames of Dan's spin.#I drew the images in Photoshop with the animation feature and then saved each one as a png.#Then imported them into Premiere Pro to add a few effects (the zoom for the first shot and the movement of the bg).#Lexx helped me a lot with figuring out music stuff and using Cakewalk for some sound editing.#But I also used Premiere Pro for some sound editing too.#(At one point I'd planned on animating three scenes and having a song in the bg. The growing sound in the first shot is the bass part.#(And things were going to be added onto the song in the other two scenes. ...But then I'd dropped the other two scenes.)#(I was also originally going to have Dan do two more quick ectoblasts after the first one but decided to cut them out for time.)#(also it's not that I can't draw hands. it's just that I knew it would take longer if I did. I'd decided to cut time by not drawing them.)#(...though most of my shortcuts ended up being long-cuts that also hurt the quality. ...Should've done things right.)

Well, I WAS going to post this for Day 12 of Cringetober (because the prompt was 'Niche Interest'), but I somehow forgot, even though I literally drew this back in September. Anyways,

Detentionaire is the show ever. I'm obsessed. Everyone should go watch Detentionaire RIGHT NOW. I drew this back when I hadn't even finished Season 1, so you can tell I saw a bunch of out-of-context spoilers and rolled with them haha. The triangle's because of the pyramid in the basement (which I saw a screenie of and promptly lost my shit over), and the tail is because tatzelwurms are typically reptilians with feline heads. Cartoon win, this character is... a cat-lizard! Wahoo! I don't care that it isn't canon, I'm just happy I got to draw my guy.

#this is such a niche gripe i guess idk its why it's in the tags #but i really get so annoyed by how a lot of this fandom acts like they know everything about her especially like where she goes #and what she does in her free time because they think they KNOW about everything but #all you know is what she chooses to show you like specifically paps like...... she calls them. all celebs do. 99.999999% of the time #these days it's how that industry works which i KNOW for a fact but like don't take my word for it if you don't believe me fine #but it's how it is and i can tell you that from professional experience but also like #the amount of friends and people i know who've seen her places all over the city for YEARS now #and there are no pap photos of her in those places nor did anyone know she went to that building/restaurant/bar/event #there are a feeeeeew places in the city which are celeb hotspots and the paps might skulk around there but that's cuz #they are known spots for that and waiters and staff tip them off for profit shares #like i know someone who saw her literally last night at a restaurant #there are no photos of her there and no paps outside #like if you think she doesn't leave the house or go somewhere without you knowing cuz you think she's papped everywhere...#thats just simply not true lol couldn't be FURTHER from true #she goes so many places and does so many things that you just don't know about. it's VERY easy to live a private life in the city #EVEN THIS WEEK she's gone more places than you've seen her getting papped at cuz i know people who've seen her!#i can't tell you the amount of famous people i've come across in these situations and the press and social media were none the wiser #people i've sat next to at a crowded brunch counter or people walking their dog or taking their kid for a bike ride like.... last week's lab was so incredibly short and simple that i'm, like, staring at my lab notebook notes like, "is this it? is this really it?" because the experimental section of the report is literally 221 words and three paragraphs long.

#we made an ester but my only notes on the scent are 'crude product has rather strong unpleasant smell'#and 'washing glassware with water --> smells like almond jello'#like not even regular almonds it smelled Specifically like the almond jello from the mix you get at the asian grocery store #i'm also sensitive to strong scents so i also was like. deliberately trying not to smell things too closely #it's kind of funny bc i was also like. the first person in the lab to identify the smell they were like 'hey hua smell this'#n i was like 'ohhh that's familiar' n they were like 'i know right??' n we were like. but what could it be.#somehow i unlocked those memories of cooking as a child n i was like 'ohmygod *almond jello*' n they were like 'OMG YOU'RE RIGHT'#花話 #anyway i also found a spectra database that is Not wiley spectrabase #(by which i mean that i went poking around the resources the prof has posted on the canvas n saw he linked to one)#so this means i can finally do those hnmr and cnmr spectra analyses! holy fuck!!#wiley spectrabase is my archest of archenemies because it doesn't!! let me see the spectra!!!!!!!!!!!#n like i Tried to go digging around for others but although i know of Some ways to find obscure but reliable data sites #i just Could Not find any others bc modern search engines are shiet #(but also it's kind of on me for not poking around the canvas a bit more myself lol)
