it's not even that deep i just think a lot of the characterization is superficial/fandomized and that it's dumb to go so hard on the reincarnation part of the lore without ever exploring any of the other facets of it. like. the reincarnation lore/cycle motif in loz works because it's worked thematically into almost every game that deals extensively with it. li/nked uni/verse just. pulls them all out of the cycle and never does anything to justify it. i know i know let people have fun or whatever but i cant get past that. sorry. i also think that l/u fans are the most annoying people alive LMAO sorry but as someone who makes content involving the reincarnation lore there are only so many "is this l/u??" comments i can get before i want to start fucking biting somebody.

i wish i could get into russian doll season two but i just find it so grating... nadia's cranked up to an eleven that is just obnoxious and it's so clear from the beginning that the message is very simply about not clinging to the past because it prevents you from living in the present and you miss out on life. which is fine it's just... basic. and it really does pull a "somehow, palpatine returned" when nadia just casually offhandedly mentions to maxine that she and alan ended up in the same timeline. like, how? why? it's so clear that this season was never meant to happen and it just makes me so sad bc i looooove love love love LOVE the first season and i was so looking forward to season two but i kinda wish it had never happened.
