Do I understand on some level that they are under no requirement to be wildly cheerful, they Are being nice but I have trained my brain to read neutrality as a negative reaction? Yes absolutely.

Does my little monster brain still feel a wash of shame and rejection every time? Oh, of course yeah, there's no other way to feel!

we have a goy at work now, and she is sooo nice but she pronounces the hebrew "ch" as you would in English (she pronounces it like "chair" instead of like "loch") and we have to nicely correct her every time and it simply doesn't sink in ??? i tried to explain the concept and she nodded along and yet ???
