Part Two: Only Angel

Bucky and his Angel’s relationship grow closer.

The cold air of the cargo container was strange, given that they were in a southeast Asian island. It sent a chill down Angel’s spine. Like something would go very wrong. They survey the empty space, searching for Nagel.

Sharon was certain Nagel was here, but there was no sight of him.

But Angel could hear the slight vibrations of music coming from… somewhere.

She approaches the back of the container and feels around the rough metal wall.

“Hey, I think he may be in here.” She beckons them over.

Pressing a gloved hand onto the metal, she pushed, revealing a small laboratory in front of them.

“You three go ahead.” She mutters. “I’ll keep an eye out with Sharon.”

Before they can say anything, she strides out of the container.

“You don’t need to worry about them.” Sharon crosses her arms as the door closes. “I know them well. They can hold their own.”

“Oh, I know.” Angel chuckles.

“Bucky likes to call you Angel, huh. Seems like you two bonded pretty quickly.”

She gives Sharon a humored look as they stroll around the dock.

“I thought psychopaths couldn’t form bonds.”

“You know I didn’t mean it.”

Their eyes dart all over the place, looking for any oncoming bounty hunters.

“How’d you get my photo anyways?”

“Heavy analysis of CCTV footage, a few phone calls, and a lot of digging. The photo was shit quality, but it was enough for me to go off of.”

“Was it enough to catch me?”

“I guess so. Then Zemo blew up the UN so we tabled the case.”

“Interesting. Maybe that UN bombing was a blessing in disguise. Saved me a life sentence in a high-security prison.”

They turned a corner.

“You wouldn’t have gone to jail. MI6 would’ve given you a job instead.”

“Hmph. I’d rather die than be a servant.”

From the corner of her eye, Angel spots a passing black shadow.

“Guys,” she presses a finger onto her earpiece. “Someone’s here.”

A gunshot rings out from the container and the hairs on the back of her neck stand. Sharon gives her a knowing look and they turn the safety off of their guns.

“Here.” Angel whispers, handing Sharon a knife. “It’ll come in handy.”

Three bounty hunters transverse on them and they open fire, taking them down one by one.

“We don’t have much time, hurry up!” Sharon yells into the earpiece.

A bounty hunter wraps their arms around Angel and she grabs a knife, jamming it into their arm.

Adrenaline floods her system, dialing her senses up to ten. A swift roundhouse kick sends another hunter tumbling to the ground.

From behind her, she hears Sam and Bucky yelling and she runs towards them.

“It’s in every action movie!” She hears Sam yell.

If her life wasn’t on the line, she would’ve laughed.

“You okay?” She pants.

“No! We’re not!” Sam yells. “Zemo shot Nagel!”

“What? Where is he?”

Her question was answered when a container set fire and exploded. She spots Zemo standing atop another, donning a purple mask. Before she can point him out, he sprints away.

“Come on, let’s get out of here.”

Gunshots ring from her right and Bucky wraps a protective arm around her. In her peripheral she sees a bounty hunter riding towards her on a motorcycle, guns blazing. She quickly wriggles out of Bucky’s grasp and sends a knife into the tire, throwing the hunter off of the vehicle and into the fire.

“Good aim.” He says, mouth agape in surprise.

“You just threw that dude into a fire!” Sam exclaims.

“Yeah, well, he was going to kill us.”

They continue to run through the maze of crates, turning corner after corner, dodging bullet after bullet.

As much as he hates to admit it, the sight of Angel in action, when her violence wasn’t directed towards him, sends a rush through his system.

Zemo speeds towards them in a convertible, signaling them to get in. Sam jumps in the passenger seat while Bucky and Angel sit in the back.

Her pupils are blown wide and Bucky swears he can feel the electricity radiating off of her. Without stopping to calm down, he grabs her face in his hand and presses a passionate kiss on her lips.

His heart skips a beat when she kisses him back, and in the corner of his eye, he spots Sharon giving either him or Angel, a thumbs up.

Bucky makes it a habit to call her Angel all the time. He likes the way it slips off his tongue. He likes the way her eyes seem to glimmer when he calls her that. It’s as if the more he calls her Angel, she seems to glow more and more.

He calls her Angel when they board the jet on the way to Latvia.

He calls her Angel when she sits down to change the gauze on her thigh.

He calls her Angel when they get to the Riga safe house.

The more time he spends with her, the more he notices the little things about her. He notices how her tongue sticks out a little when she does her eye makeup.

He notices how her head would bop along to music in her earbuds

He notices how she’ll curl up on the couch, tucking her knees close to her body, while she sketches.

He notices how she’ll mutter curses in different languages. Mandarin, French, Russian, Spanish just to name a few.

He notices how she took off her jewelry when she showers with the exception of a gold chain. A gold chain with a dangling pendant. A pendant of a little angel.

He notices how she uses apple cinnamon body wash. It made her smell warm. It made her smell like home.

She gets along with Sam. Even Zemo.

She talks about philosophy with Zemo and when she converses with Sam, they talk about music.

She’s a force to be reckoned with. Fiery. Just like Selby had said. A firebird.

And despite her cool, hardened front, there was a gentleness to her.

The jet had touched down in Latvia late and night and they collectively decided to get a good night’s rest before finding Karli.

He had woken up from a nightmare. Reliving the memory of killing Yori’s son.

He didn’t know what compelled him to do it, but he padded over to Angel, reading Anna Karenina. Glasses perched on her nose, hair loose and resting past her shoulders.

She looks up at him.

“Nightmare?”

Bucky nods, tears pricking are his eyes.

She places the book on the floor and stretches out on the couch.

“Come here.” She whispers arms open wider

She let him lay his head on her chest, nose pressed against her sternum. With gentle hands, she runs her fingers through his hair, slowing his rapid heartbeat.

The serum had made his hearing sharper and from his position between her breasts, he could hear the soft thumping of her heart. It calmed him.

“Can you sing to me?” He mumbles.

The hand playing with his hair stops.

“Sing to you?” She asks.

“Mhm.”

“I-“ she pauses “I don’t really-“

“Please.” He begs.

She’s quiet, just calmly stroking his hair, then she sighs.

“What do you want me to sing?”

“Anything. Just… please, I want you to sing for me.”

She ponders for a moment before she parts her lips, voice shaky and quiet.

When I was a child, I heard voices

Some would sing and some would scream

You soon find you have few choices

I learned the voices died with me

He closes his eyes and noses at her sternum.

When I was a child, I'd sit for hours

Staring into open flame

Something in it had a power

Could barely tear my eyes away

The song is unfamiliar. He didn’t listen to music all that much anymore. And even when he listens to music, it was mostly from the 40s.

Her voice, still soft and quiet, is haunting. The way it wraps around the lyrics, warms his heart. He breathes in the smell of her apple cinnamon body wash.

When I was 16, my senses fooled me

Thought gasoline was on my clothes

I knew that something would always rule me

I knew the scent was mine alone

He loves the way he can feel her chest move up and down. The way her voice sounds so rich with his ear pressed against her chest, the music echoing within her ribs.

He reaches his hand to play with the angel pendant on her necklace. Finger running over the grooves.

When I was a man I thought it ended

When I knew love's perfect ache

But my peace has always depended

On all the ashes in my wake

As he drifts off to sleep, he can hear the last lines of the song lingering on her lips. The images from war. The torture he endured, the people he’s killed, the amends he has yet to make, all temporarily fade from his mind.

And for the first time since Steve left, Bucky was able to sleep without disturbance.

“You have a lovely voice.”

Angel was pulled from her sleep when she hears Zemo’s voice.

She glares at him and places a finger on her lips, shushing him. Bucky was still lying on top of her, still asleep and she didn’t want to wake him.

“My apologies.” He smiles.

“Were you watching us last night?” She interrogates quietly.

“No, but I do have a keen sense of hearing. I heard you singing to James.”

She turns her head to meet his eyes.

“He had a nightmare. It was the least I could do for him.”

“Understandable.” He nods. “My son used to have nightmares and my wife’s voice was the only thing that could put him to sleep.”

“I’m sorry.” She mumbles sympathetically. “About your family, I mean. I know you lost them a while ago.”

Her hand combs through Bucky’s hair.

“I understand how vengeance and anger overtook you. You needed your revenge. But don’t hurt him.”

“Hurt who? James?”

“Yes.” Her voice darkens. “If you lay a finger on him, I won’t hesitate to bury you.”

Zemo sighs.

“I have no intention of harming him. I see the way you look at him. It’s the same look I used to give my wife. You care for him dearly and given your line of work, I know you’d do anything to avenge the people who harm the ones you love.” He walks towards her and offers her a cookie. Angel takes it with a wary hand.

“You’ve got anything else you want to say?”

“I do have a question about that song. I knew that something would always rule me.” He quotes. “Was that about yourself, or James?”

She narrows her eyes.

“It was just a song.”

“Yet it implies that something will always have power, control, over the songwriter.” He tilts his head.

“What are you implying, Baron?”

“It’s not an implication. It’s an observation. You two share a common trait. For James, it’s his past. His time as the Winter Soldier looms over him. As for you, you seem to have this, how do I say it, a compulsion to kill. It will always stick to you.”

“Baron, I suggest you pick your next words very carefully.”

Bucky stirs and she lifts her hand from his head.

“Mmm. Good morning.” He mumbles, voice rough and heavy.

“Good morning to you too sleepyhead.” She coos, rubbing his cheek with her thumb. “Did you sleep well?”

“Mhm.” He hums.

She gives Zemo a look that says ‘get out.’

Zemo gives her a smirk and walks away, leaving the two of them alone.

Bucky opens his eyes and Angel can feel her heart melt. He balances himself on his arm to press a kiss to her nose.

“You look cute with bed head.” He chuckles. “So pretty. I could just eat you up.”

“You look quite pretty when you sleep.” She giggles and rubs her nose against his.

He places his head back on her chest and they lie there for a while, listening to the sounds of the city.

Finally, she sighs.

“Alright, Bucky, I’m gonna go take a shower.”

He whines and wraps his arms around her.

“No, stay.”

“Bucky,” she says sternly, “I have to wash my hair, let go.”

With a huff, he sits up and lets her get off of the couch. As she stands she turns around spotting Bucky, arms crossed and a pout on his face.

“I never said you couldn’t join.”

Bucky jumps up and runs to her. He places his hands on her waist and turns her around, pressing a kiss to her lips. She links her fingers with his and he follows behind her towards the bathroom.

While they wait for the water to heat up, she reaches into her bag to pull out bottles of product.

He spots the shimmering bottle of apple cinnamon body wash and smiles.

“Apple cinnamon body wash.” He notes.

“Mhm. It's inexpensive but it smells nice.”

“It does.”

She places her hand under the stream of water and gets a feel for the temperature. The water is hot, just how she likes it. Her hands pull the t-shirt over her head and then her cotton underwear.

Bucky waits for her to step into the shower before he strips down and joins her.

A content smile crosses her face when the hot water hits her body but her peace is broken when she hears Bucky yelp.

“Why is the water so hot?”

“I like it hot.” She turns to face him and playfully pokes at his navel. “It’s relaxing.”

“You’re going to boil me alive.” He grumbles.

“If you don’t like the hot water,” She bluntly states, “then get out.”

She shampoos her hair, letting the bubbles froth around her fingers, and then she pours a bit into her hand and reaches up to massage it into Bucky’s hair.

He runs a metal finger down her sternum, collecting a bit of the bubbles that run down her body. When his finger reaches her scar, his touch lingers.

Seeing the guilt in his eyes, Angel places a finger underneath his chin and has him look into her eyes instead.

“Don’t.” She murmurs. “You’ll only torture yourself reminiscing on the past.” She pulls him under the stream, letting the water wash away the shampoo in their hair.

She’s got a meticulous shower routine, one that she likes to perform herself, yet she’s okay with Bucky standing next to her. When she combs the conditioner through her hair, she does the same for Bucky, knowing it would soften his hair even more and make it smell like vanilla and pomegranate.

She places a bit of the apple cinnamon body wash in her hands and rubs it onto his body. Her hands pay extra attention to the scar on his shoulder.

“It’s got vitamin E in it. Helps with scars.”

Bucky turns her around, making her face away from him.

She can’t see exactly what he’s doing, but she hums with relaxation when she feels his strong hands rub the body wash into her skin.

“You’ve got some knots in your shoulders.” He notes.

“I’m aware of that.”

“You’re stressed.”

“I am.”

When the water washes away the body wash, the shower is filled with the scent of apple cinnamon.

She’s surprised when she feels a kiss on the back of her shoulder but nevertheless, she enjoys it.

Bucky presses another kiss in the center of her shoulders and kisses her along the line of her back. He sinks to his knees and places a kiss onto the dimples of her back.

“Buck, what are you doing?” She smirks, turning around.

“I just wanna love on you.” He murmurs against her skin. “Can I?”

She blinks owlishly, then slowly nods her head.

“Y-yeah” she breathes.

Bucky places a kiss on her scar and runs his tongue over it, sending a fire through her.

“Open your legs for me, doll.”

She shyly parts her legs and Bucky smiles up at her.

He grabs her waist, hoisting her knees over his shoulders, pressing her back against the wall.

She lets out gaspy whines when he kisses and nips at her thighs, letting his stubble rub against the sensitive skin.

“Bucky,” she whimpers “we- we’re going to waste water.”

“Don’t worry about that, doll.” He murmurs. “Just let me make you feel good.”

He licks a stripe up her folds, causing her to gasp. She grabs onto his hair, pulling him closer.

“So sweet, baby. You taste so sweet.”

She doesn’t reply. She couldn’t. Not when he was making her feel so good.

She slaps her other hand onto the wall, trying to hold herself up. Bucky tightens his grip on her and leans in closer, continuously licking into her, making her head spin.

She tries to say something, tell him she’s close, tell him she’s going to cum quicker than she thought, but the only sounds that leave her mouth are breathy moans.

When he pulls away, she whines. He gives her a cocky grin.

“Wanna cum?”

She vigorously nods her head.

“That’s a shame.” He lets go of her legs, almost dropping her onto the tile, and wraps an arm around her waist to keep her steady. “We’ve got a big day ahead.” His tone is teasing, almost mean. “I’ll let you cum later.”

She’s left on the edge, and she’s angry. No, not angry. Frustrated. Frustrated and desperate.

“You’re mean.” She grumbles, shutting off the water.

“If you give me attitude, I won’t let you cum at all.” He chuckles.

She pushes him away and wraps a towel around her body.

“I don’t need you to cum anyways.” She grumbles under her breath.

As she walks away, he grabs her by the back of her neck and pulls her into his chest.

“If I were you,” He lowers his lips to her ear, “I’d behave. Now,” he releases his grip and gives her ass a smack. “Get dressed, we’ve got a lot to do today.”

She digs through her duffel to find a simple red jumpsuit. The neckline is low enough to be teasing, but it had enough support and pockets to be practical.

“Sounds like someone had a good morning.”

She turns around, a big grin stretching across her face when she sees Sam.

“Sam! Good morning!” She cheers.

“No need to good morning me when I woke up to the sound of fucking.” he grumbles, annoyance in his voice.

She chuckles as she buttons the front of her jumpsuit.

“So, Bucky tells me we have a lot going on today. What’s on the itinerary?”

“Hopefully, we can track down Karli and convince her to stop. At least that’s my plan.”

“Sounds good.”

He grabs his jacket from the chair. “I’m headed out to get something to eat. Do you want anything?”

“I’m okay.” She smiles at him. “Thanks for asking.”

Sam reaches the door and turns around.

“One more thing, you’ve got a great voice.”

“Was I that loud or did no one sleep at all last night?”

Sam chuckles.

“I think after the past few days, it’s hard for anyone to get a good night's sleep.” He looks down, fiddling with his fingers. “What you did… what you did for Bucky in Madripoor, when we were undercover…”

“What did I do?” She asks curiously.

“When Zemo had him go all Winter Soldier, you fought alongside him, you got to that first guy before Bucky did.”

Angel is quiet. She says nothing, looking down at her hands and picking at her cuticles.

“He might not say this to your face, but I’ve been around him long enough to know that he’s thankful. And so am I.”

She doesn’t know what to say. What would she even say?

“I can see now why he likes calling you Angel.”

With that, the door closes.

She walks over to the kitchen, looking through the cabinets. The shelves were fairly empty, mostly just tins of cookies and candy, and a box of cherry blossom tea. She huffs in frustration when her fingers brush over the tin of candy, barely moving it.

“Need some help, doll?”

Bucky grabs the tin and places it on the counter.

Her frustration is reignited at the sight of him in a tight, black t-shirt. She wants him to bend her over, fuck her until she sobs.

But she knows he won’t give her that.

Before she can grab it, Bucky holds it above his head.

“You’re evil.” She mutters. “Come on, give me it.”

“Nope!” He smirks.

“Go fu-“

She yelps when Bucky loops his thumb through the belt loop of her jumpsuit and pulls her close to him.

“Remember what I told you? Watch your language.”

“Give me the candy or you’re not getting head for a week.”

Bucky’s eyes widen and he hands her the box.

“Thank you.”

She presses a kiss to his nose and walks away with the box.

She knows what Bucky’s doing. He’s riling her up, teasing her.

But two can play that game.

She sits up on the counter and opens the tin.

Turkish Delight. Candy she used to eat as a child.

He’s staring at her. She can feel it. Her fingers pluck a candy from the box and hold it up.

“Want one?”

Bucky walks over to her and wedges himself between her thighs.

“Sure.”

She unwraps the candy and places a finger on his chin, beckoning him to open his mouth.

Her fingers place the treat on his tongue.

“Sweet, isn’t it?”

He kisses her and she can taste the sugar on his lips.

“Almost as sweet as you.”

She grabs another and hops off of the counter, humored by Bucky’s frustrated look.

“Sam probably wants everyone ready by the time he gets back. So, I don’t know.” She eyes him up and down, ready to drool at the sight of his arms. “Get dressed.”

“Oh doll, I’m already dressed.” He chuckles.

“Good. Then help me out.” Her fingers deftly unbutton the top of her jumpsuit, exposing her black sports bra. She reaches for her harness and shoves it in Bucky’s hands. “Buckle me in.”

Sex was the last thing on her mind when she’s face to face with the new Captain America.

“Karli Morganthau is too dangerous for you to be pulling this shit.” He yells.

Angel rolls her eyes at the sight of John Walker.

“How’d you find us now?” Bucky replies, voice full of annoyance.

“You think two Avengers can walk around Latvia without drawing attention?”

Angel’s seen his face in the news. Lemar, the better of America’s new dynamic duo.

“No more keeping us in the dark, and you can tell us why you broke him” John points to Zemo “out of prison.”

“He did that himself, technically.” Bucky answers.

“That is an unbelievable explanation! And who the hell are you?” He points to Angel.

“I’m a friend.” She grumbles, eyes narrowed.

“You have no business being here. And whatever you’re wearing, all you’re going to do is draw attention.”

“And your little Mr. America getup isn’t?”

“Why don’t you go back to working in European intelligence or whatever it is you do.”

“You better watch your mouth, Mr. Walker.” She snarls. “Is that really how you speak to a lady?”

“I know where Karli is.” Zemo interrupts their feud.

“Well, where?”

“All we know is,” Sam answers, “It’s a memorial. We’ll intercept her there.”

“That means civilians, high risk of casualties.” Lemar states.

“Alright good.” John schemes. “We’ll move in fast, take her by surprise.”

“Not a good idea, John.” Angel retorts. He halts in his steps and turns to her.

“You have no clue what you’re getting yourself into. This is an American situation.”

She leans in until she’s staring into his eyes. Rage broils inside of her.

“Let me tell you something John, I don’t care about your medals of honor. I don’t care that you’re wearing that red and blue suit. So I’ll tell you this once, and only once. If you dare speak to me like this again, I won’t hesitate to-“

Bucky pulls her back, giving her a stern look.

“Hey,” he rubs her shoulder, trying to settle her anger. “He’s not worth it.”

“Oh, so she’s your little girlfriend huh?”

Angel presses the tip of her knife against his chin and backs him into a wall.

“You stay out of Bucky’s business.” She seethes.

“Hey, hey, hey!”

This time, both Sam and Bucky had to pull her away, but she keeps her murderous glare trained on him.

“Jesus Christ, Barnes. Keep your little psycho under control.” John spits.

“Hey, don’t speak to her like that,” Sam demands. “Just because you don’t know her doesn’t give you an excuse to be rude.”

“Either you show her some respect,” Bucky says “or all of the help we have to offer is off of the table.”

Sam nods in agreement and eventually so does Zemo, who adds a small shrug.

“I wasn't actually going to kill him.” She mutters under her breath.

“We know.” Sam pulls her into a side hug. He directs his words back to John. “I want to talk to her alone.”

“I’m not losing her again.”

“Look, the person closest to her died. She’s vulnerable. If there’s any time to reason with her, it’s now.”

“What?” John halts in his steps. “No, wait stop. We are way past reasoning with her.”

“Sam,” Lemar states. “If you walk in there cold, you could die.”

“But if you walk in guns blazing, you could have the blood of hundreds of civilians on your hands.” Angel folds her arms. “Besides, if things go wrong, I’m trained in mixed martial arts.”

“You think a black belt will save you from a super-soldier?”

Angel snorts.

“It has before.”

Bucky looks down and stifles a laugh.

“I used to counsel soldiers dealing with trauma, okay?” Sam argues with John. “This is in my wheelhouse.”

They’re all silent, staring daggers at each other.

“John,” Lemar breaks the silence “If he can talk her down, it might be worth a try.” He gives Angel a kind smile. “And I think we give this girl a chance to show us what she’s got.”

“Thank you.” She smiles back.

“I’m sure this can all come to an agreeable conclusion.” Zemo points forward. “My associate is just up ahead.”

They watch as Zemo approaches a young girl, handing her some money. She beckons them to follow her down a cobblestone path, into a building, and through the boiler room.

“You’ve got ten minutes,” John states while handcuffing Zemo to a pipe. “Then we’re doing things my way.”

While they wait, Angel spends her time playing with her butterfly knife, spinning the handle around her fingers.

“How do you not cut yourself doing that?” Lemar asks.

She spins the knife closed.

“I have before, it’s just about practice and being careful. Here, I’ll show you.”

Bucky observes Angel showing off her knife tricks to Lemar.

Despite the stressful situation, he still felt a pang of possessiveness. She was his Angel. He gave her that name and when she said she’d accepted it. In a way, she was his and he was hers.

“What’s your name? I don’t think you’ve ever told me.”

He hears Lemar ask.

Angel giggles.

“It’s Artemis. Like the goddess.”

Artemis. It’s fitting, Bucky thinks. The goddess of the hunt.

“That’s really cool. Let me guess, your parents were huge mythology fans?”

“You can say that.” She chuckles.

His eyes narrow when she smiles at Lemar.

Their conversation continues and Bucky’s jealousy burns brighter when she places her fingers on the fabric of Lemar’s suit, giving him a comment on how she’s got an eye for fashion and how nice the fabric was. From his position by the door, he sees her turn to him and give him a wink.

Bucky scowls. That little minx.

John crosses his arms and stares daggers into her.

“What exactly do you do, anyway?” He scoffs. “Are you some kind of spy?”

Angel raises a brow.

“I’m not a spy. I’m just a problem solver.”

“What’s that supposed to mean?” John shakes his head and secures the shield on his arm. “Nevermind. I’m going in.”

“Oh, come on John, it’s only been eight minutes.”

“No. Don’t do that. Don’t patronize me.”

“I’m not-” Angel sighs and turns away, focusing her attention on pulling her hair back.

Bucky stops him before John can get through the doorway.

“It must be so easy for you.” John’s voice is full of malice. “All that serum running through your veins. Barnes, your partner needs backup. Do you really want his blood on your hands?”

Bucky can see Angel slowly shake her head, telling him not to give in to John’s words. But he can’t. He’s already done so much harm. He’s responsible for the deaths of so many people, he can’t let Sam become another.

So, he lets John walk past him, Lemar following along.

Angel runs up to him.

“Bucky, why’d you do that?”

“I can’t… I can’t risk it. I can’t risk losing him.”

She runs through the door closest to her. From behind a table, she spots John staring at a small vial. A small vial of the serum. Before she can say anything, he runs away.

As she quietly walks into the room, she spots Zemo, lying on the ground, unconscious. No one else was here.

She crouches down next to him and gently shakes his shoulder.

“Baron? Zemo? Come on, wake up.”

He doesn’t move.

She picks up his wrist, pressing her pointer and middle fingers on the vein. A sigh of relief passes her lips at the feeling of a pulse.

Her hands shake his shoulder again, this time, with more vigor.

“Zemo!” She shouts.

His eyes snap open and he groans in pain.

“You passed out Baron.”

“I’m aware.” He grumbles. “John Walker threw the shield at me.”

“Of course he did.”

She offers him a hand and helps him stand up.

“Can you walk?” She asks.

“Don’t worry, I’ll be okay.”

The two make their way through the city until they reach Zemo’s apartment. Sam was already there, typing away on his computer.

Angel wets a towel in the kitchen and hands it to Zemo.

“Go, lie down. Put this over your eyes.”

Domo podcast

Alright, I am posting my podcast translations here. Idk how often I’ll be able to post them, but I’ll make sure all 26 of them eventually end up here. So first one had Domagoj Vida and Ndermin Redžaj (who will be refered as Deki through the text) as first guests. Translation below the cut bc this will be long

Tomislav Pacak, one of two hosts, does an introduction of the podcast and says it will feature each day one player and one member of the staff for 26 days.

Host: Or goal here was to introduce or get to know the players and members of the staff who are part of the team better. I see our first episode, with Domagoj with a physiotherapist Ndermin Redžaj will be fun. Although very challenging for me, a host

Domo was asked about the end of his season in Beskitas. His was talking about it and at one point he said "of course, we over complicated things for ourselves, the way croatian nt does usually"

Then, Domo and Deki(who is a Domo's physiotherapist) talk about how they know each other for a very long time.

Domo: Yeah Deki is a very good friend and colleague. Along with massaging me, he also cooks very well

Host: How does your wife handles the fact that you are in mostly men's company?

Domo: oh yeah, I hanged like a ceiling lamp. Suba and coach held me up. But generally, that whole day is one of my most fond memories. Whenever I am at hard point in my life, I turn on doček on youtube and I instantly feel better

Domo: It's weird you know? People still tell me „Thank you" even today as they did on doček

Host: How was it with all the mixed feelings after the final? Were you all proud immediately after or was there some bitterness at first?

Domo: well, it all depends on people individually. For me, it hit ne hard. We were so close to winning and I was crushed. Everyone kept telling me "keep your head high, we should be proud". It was only after we came back to hotel and started celebrating that the good feelings started to come back

(So in the show, there are 4 people who signed up to be there and they form a team. They need to go through three challenges to leave with money, and "the hunter", has to try and catch them by answering more questions than them. It's a bit more complicated than that but that's the gist of it)

Host: one of the players you worked with privately, even outside of national team is Mario Mandzukic. He is very popular but he has this sort of untouchable image. How is he in his private life?

Deki: he is only like that in public. He is like the rest of the team. For me, they are firstly good people, and only then good players

Deki: we all know what Mario is like. He seems like he is no good but he is actually a very good man(direct translation is he is a soul of a man which is a term used in croatian)

Domo, in a bit silly voice: soul

Domo: a good man but...no I am kidding. He is a good man and we miss him here in nt. I think he retired too early but it was his choice and we respect it. The two of us(he and Deki he means) used to spend time with him more than the others and he is truly a great man. And he is always ready to help, not just those he is on good terms with but everyone

Host: you said yourself massage room is very important in national team. Is it the same in your club as well?

Domo: well no, not as far as I noticed. People from foreign countries have different rituals, but I noticed this is very important to people from balkan. It's very important for atmosphere. After training and all the activities for the day are done, 10 or so of us guys will gather there for massage and since you go in one by one as you wait there will be fun and joking around and stuff like that. So that's very important for atmosphere, which we saw in Russia how important that can be

Domo: ufff. So, I like the most when a day before the actual game, older play against younger and it's the very end of the game. With centre shots between two people

Deki: favorite club when you were a child?

Domo: Barcelona

Host: Domo, you are nt's dj from what I heard

Domo: I suppose-

Host: so, what music do you play before and after games and what in the bus?

Domo: well, mostly narodni radio. But I mostly gave up that role to others now. To Šime Vrsaljko, and there was Jedvaj before, too

Domo: and I think during this time we'll get Livaković to do it too. He is young and he will have a long career in nt, so we should teach him how it's done

Host: you already answered this for UEFA, but I was wondering if you could repeat it. Who is the best dancer, singer etc of the team?

Domo: I am not sure I remember what I said

Host: I can remind you. You said Livakovic is the best dancer

Domo: oh, yes, true! He is the best dance he has these moves *moves side to side with hands and body * and does everything with his hips

Host: And the best singer?

Domo: there is no best singer. We sing the best all together

Host: Do you still watches Osijek games? Since it was your first club

Domo: well, it's only the first day so we didn't have much time to talk. It's a bit weird with Carli being a joker and a gentlmen both in one. We are used to joking around but during training now that isn't the case because he is the coach and he should be treated as such. After it though, we can relax a bit more and talk

I filled out some Guardian questions for my boys the other day, and they’re all in character! hopefully this will give you guys a better feel for what each of them act like c:

For Matt:

Where were you rezzed? My Ghost found me in the Cosmodrome, lying amongst a bunch of rusty old cars. I’m still wondering what I was doing there…

How long ago was it? About 5 years ago! A lot has happened since then too.

Did you have anything in your pockets? No, but I found a locket with a picture of a woman in it near where I was rezzed. I only just recently found it too. I don’t even know if it was mine or not. I wish I knew who the woman in the picture was…

What was your first week alive like? Very busy! I was excited to explore new worlds, but my ship lacked a warp drive, so I had to go searching in the Cosmodrome for one. That was… fun. And then once I got it, I ended up spending a little more time in the City to get more acquainted with the place.

How did you react to your new role as a Guardian? I was unsure I could do it at first, but when the Speaker told me about the Darkness, I knew that I had to do something to protect everyone in the City. The Traveler chose me for a reason. I feel like this is what I was always meant to be, you know? Is that weird?

Do you have any regrets? I… wish things didn’t go the way they did when we were going after Oryx. I feel like what happened to Isaac was my fault. Maybe if I had been smarter or stronger or whatever… I don’t know. I just feel responsible for it somehow.

How did you get your name? I don’t like to talk about it… but when I first tried out the Crucible, several of the other Guardians made fun of me after they saw how klutzy I was. They came and bullied me several times after that, calling me all sort of awful names. “Mat” was their favorite because of how often I fall on my face, I guess. Rocky stood up for me, which is how we first became friends, and he would always call me “Mat” too because he thought that’s what my name actually was. He didn’t know it was used to bully me. I finally gave up and just embraced the name because one, Matt is an actual name, and two, because I didn’t want to let those bullies be the ones to define who I was. If Rocky, my first real friend, wanted to know me as Matt, then that’s all that mattered. Also, I really do fall on my face a lot. And get stepped on. It’s fine.

Does your ghost have a name? Yes! His name is Willy. And I’m not going to dare talk about how he got that name; my own story is traumatizing enough.

What is your ghost like? He’s very friendly, very loud, and very charismatic. He reminds me a lot of Rocky, actually.

How do you feel about the last city and the vanguard? I love the City! Ever since I first came to it, it really felt like home. And the Vanguard are like family to me. Cayde welcomed me in like he’d known me his whole life when I first came to the City. Ikora inspires me to learn more about our world every day. And Zavala makes me want to be the best leader for my fireteam that I can be.

What’s your favorite place to go? Wherever my friends are!

Do you participate in strikes or the crucible? Yes, but only with my fireteam. I don’t think Rocky would let me even attempt either of those things without him, honestly.

How do you celebrate the holidays? For Crimson Days, Rocky and I pretty much spend all our time in the Crucible. For Festival of the Lost, I like dressing up and roleplaying as different people and creatures (last year, I was the Fanatic, and everyone said I mimicked his voice perfectly!). My favorite holiday is the Dawning; I love the beautiful snow and just spending time with my friends.

Who is your favorite NPC and who is your least favorite? Well uhh, my favorite is definitely Hawthorne because she… well she’s amazing in every way possible honestly, she’s smart and resilient and funny and dependable and really really pretty and she has a cool bird and oh geez am I rambling? Ehehe… And as for my least favorite, I don’t think I have one? I’m not really sure what to think of the Drifter; he comes across really friendly, but I don’t know how genuine he is. He didn’t seem too pleased when I got the Last Word either. But I’m not gonna worry about it.

Where do you sleep/call home? I stay in one of the rooms near the Hunter quarters. My old room was destroyed in the Red War, but I was able to recover most of my stuff. I like to collect artifacts and weapons from other species, as well as some stuff from the Golden Age. Cayde appreciates my collection, probably due to the fact that he has his own collection, but I organize my stuff waaaaaaaay better than he does.

Do you have any pets or companions? Rocky can behave like a pet sometimes… otherwise it’s just my Ghost. I spend a lot of time with Rocky’s kids, they seem to like me a lot. Especially Poofy. She and I get along the best. She likes it when I style her hair and clean her claws.

Does anyone live with you? Just my Ghost, although Rocky used to spend the night with me sometimes before he met Silfy.

How do you unwind or comfort yourself? I mostly like to spend time with my friends, but if I’m by myself? I’ll usually end up singing to pass the time. I like to dance too. I seem to do better on my feet when I’m dancing than if I’m doing… well anything else really.

What would truly break you? I have nightmares sometimes of my friends turning to the Darkness… I don’t ever want to think about something like that actually happening…

Most embarrassing moment? Probably the first time I met Hawthorne… I was a complete babbling mess and then tripped on a rock and smashed my face to boot. Willy couldn’t even heal me at the time either. I had a black eye for a week. I honestly don’t know why she even bothered talking to me anymore after that. She probably just felt sorry for me…

Any cherished memories? Meeting Rocky for the first time. And Isaac. And Hannah. And all my other friends. I’ve lived a really good life so far.

What was your highest and/or lowest point? My highest point would probably be when Rocky and I defeated Oryx. Which ironically came after my lowest point… when Isaac sacrificed himself for the rest of us. I secluded myself from everyone after that happened, even Rocky. I felt terrible. I told myself I would never do anything like that again, no matter what.

Views on the enemy races? I find them fascinating, but also acknowledge them as enemies. I respect the Fallen the most, and I wish more of them were like Silfy and her kids. I think we could live in peace with them if they wanted.

Which enemy race is your most/least favorite? I guess the Fallen would be my most favorite, and my least favorite is definitely the Taken. The idea that something could become totally consumed by Darkness like that… it’s terrifying.

For Rocky:

Where were you rezzed? uhh I don’t remember, I think it was on some moon? I’ll ask Mo later

How long ago was it? like 6 or 7 years ago

Did you have anything in your pockets? LOL I didn’t even have pockets!

What was your first week alive like? I had no idea what the frick I was doing

How did you react to your new role as a Guardian? I thought it was pretty sweet that I had all these powers and was super strong and stuff like that. not dying anymore was pretty cool too

Do you have any regrets? NO REGRETS MUTHAFRICKER

How did you get your name? people just started calling me Rocky cause it sounds like my real name, Roq, which you say like “rock”, so yeah it was a no brainer

Does your ghost have a name? her name is Mo! I don’t remember why I called her Mo, she just looks like a Mo

What is your ghost like? she’s super spunky and doesn’t take any crap. she likes to tell me what to do all the time. she’s great.

How do you feel about the last city and the vanguard? the city’s pretty cool, I guess. same with the vanguard. some people think I don’t like Ikora cause she’s boring, but dude, she’s still got the highest win streak in the Crucible, so I respect the heck outta her

What’s your favorite place to go? the crucible, duh! don’t care what map, just stick me in there, baby! (hehe)

Do you participate in strikes or the crucible? uhh YEAH!!!! I basically live in the crucible, and I go on strikes with my fireteam all the time. I’m a man of many talents~

How do you celebrate the holidays? crimson days is the best holiday EVER, I get to spend all day in the crucible with my best friend, what’s better than that? festival of the lost and the dawning are pretty cool too. I like putting on creepy masks for festival and throwing snowballs at people during the dawning. oh and eating Eva’s cookies!! oh man, now I’m hungry…

Who is your favorite NPC and who is your least favorite? what’s an NPC? is that a person? cause other than Matt and Silfy, my favorite person is Shaxx, duh. Saladin’s cool too. and my least favorite, uhh… I don’t like the way Asher talks to me, he makes me feel stupid

Where do you sleep/call home? got a nice little place near the Titan quarters. I had to get a new one after the Red War and then another one after Silfy and the kids moved in

Do you have any pets or companions? the kids are more like pets than actual kids right now. probably cause of the claws

Does anyone live with you? Mo, Silfy, and the three kids: Kiki, Kip, and Poofy

How do you unwind or comfort yourself? if I’m not duking it out in the Crucible, I go to the bar and get drinks with Shaxx and Cayde

What would truly break you? nothing can ever break me, wtf?? I got muscles for days, chump! or is this some kinda mental bullcrap, in which case, I still can’t be broken! nope! not even if all my friends were gone and I was the only person left alive! nnnnnope! just don’t… just don’t look at me ok DON’T LOOK AT ME

Most embarrassing moment? pfffft I don’t get embarrassed, I have NO shame, I literally went into the Crucible nude once, my dudes

Any cherished memories? the first time I won a Crucible match… oh man that was so sweet… and, you know, I guess meeting Matt was pretty cool too, since he was my first friend and everything

What was your highest and/or lowest point? highest point was helping Saladin take care of siva and him making me a friggin Iron Lord, baby!! and I don’t get low points ok, I’m always high (hehe). I mean yeah, I was pretty bummed when I found out Saint-14 was dead, just like stupid Isaac when he got himself killed trying to protect me and Matt, like seriously, isn’t the whole point of being a guardian is that you never die?? so why did they die?? it’s just dumb is what it is, it’s just dumb…

Views on the enemy races? I LOVE THE HIVE THEY’RE FRIGGIN SWEET. and of course, the Fallen are really cool, and the Taken are cool, and the Scorn are just AWESOME, man why do the bad guys have to be so cool?? yeah I’m not gonna hesitate to kill em whenever I get the chance but… can’t a guy appreciate a sweet lookin alien without being judged??

Which enemy race is your most/least favorite? I like Hive the best, but I gotta give props to the Fallen too cause you know, the whole I got a family of Fallen now thing. the ones I like the least are the Vex cause they’re just stupid robots, like it’s an insult to the rest of us robots who have brains and stuff. Vex have zappy milk goo in their bellies and think they’re all that cause they can time travel or whatever, well you know what I can do?? benchpress a cabal tank, that’s what I can do!! get on my level, Vex LOSERS!!!

For Isaac:

Where were you rezzed? The Dreaming City, in the former location of my father’s library of Awoken history.

How long ago was it? Over 200 years ago.

Did you have anything in your pockets? No.

What was your first week alive like? Nothing worth repeating.

How did you react to your new role as a Guardian? I thought it was pointless. I didn’t care about “saving the world” or whatever.

Do you have any regrets? No.

How did you get your name? The Speaker thought he was being clever by giving me a name that related to laughter since he had never heard me laugh before. He never actually did hear me laugh before he died.

Does your ghost have a name? His name is GG. Don’t ask what it stands for.

What is your ghost like? He’s very kind and dependable. He does what he’s told. He also can’t speak, all his communications are through beeps and other robotic noises. I don’t know why he has no voice. But I understand him perfectly. And he understands me. That’s all that matters.

How do you feel about the last city and the vanguard? I didn’t think much of the City when I first came to it. I still don’t, but I’m used to it now, and I call it my home, so… As for the Vanguard, Ikora and Zavala are the only ones I respect. Cayde is an idiot. I’m surprised it took him as long as it did to finally get himself killed.

What’s your favorite place to go? My personal secret library that only a few people are allowed into.

Do you participate in strikes or the crucible? I don’t care for the Crucible, nor am I allowed in it normally. Shaxx thinks that my methods are “unfair” to the other participants. I only participate during Crimson Days, and only with a select few. And by select few, I mean only Hannah and Fon. Don’t. Ask.

How do you celebrate the holidays? I don’t. But my friends force me into doing stuff with them anyway.

Who is your favorite NPC and who is your least favorite? Ikora is the one I trust the most. Toland is an absolute fool, and I’m going to physically drag him through the nine different layers of hell until he’s nothing but a bad memory to the rest of humanity.

Where do you sleep/call home? I live in my library.

Do you have any pets or companions? Only my Ghost.

Does anyone live with you? Again, only my Ghost.

How do you unwind or comfort yourself? I stay in my library. Alone. I also like to play the violin. Don’t even think about asking.

What would truly break you? If I had come back to life and found my library in shambles, I would’ve killed myself again.

Most embarrassing moment? Non-existent.

Any cherished memories? I… admit, it was… nice seeing that certain people were happy to see me alive again. And that Ikora hadn’t let anybody into my library after I was gone.

What was your highest and/or lowest point? I don’t like putting labels on things like that. My life has been playing out as intended.

Views on the enemy races? I don’t know why they insist on attacking humanity and the Traveler. It’s proven time and time again that it’s the most powerful force in the universe, so trying to kill or overtake it is a lost cause. Anyone who thinks the Darkness is more powerful than the Light is a fool.

Which enemy race is your most/least favorite? The Vex interest me the most. Osiris and I studied them a lot before he left the City. He’s been filling me in on what he’s learned in the Infinite Forest after I was brought back to this time period. All of the other races are pretty dumb. Especially the Cabal. They’re like an entire race of wrinkly, noseless Titans. It’s ridiculous.

50 Do you get jealous easily?

I mean, I’ve calmed down a little but the answer is still yes.

51 What is your favourite type of food?

I like French food and I will eat almost any type of pizza. I really like Mexican food when I’m high.

52 Do you ever want to get married?

Definitely someday, maybe after I finish university. It would be a dysfunctional marriage, but at least there would be love.

53 Who was your first kiss with?

Overall? I’m really not sure...I think this girl in grade 4 that I had a crush on. My first kiss at Degrassi was Zoë.

Maybe a few times in prep school.

55 What is your idea of the perfect date?

Getting pleasantly high, eating food (preferably at a Mexican place), walking past the shops, and then driving home around midnight with the windows open while you feel the cool breeze and see everything all lit up with lights.

Definitely an extrovert, but I can sometimes act like an introvert.

I think it’s possible. We don’t even know everything about our own planet, so it’s definitely in the realm of possibility.

Perhaps, perhaps not. Perhaps we have multiple soul mates, but they’re different kinds. Maybe my siblings are my soul mates but in a familial way, and Chewy and I are soulmates in a platonic way, and Esme and I are soulmates in a romantic way.

I dyed my hair green once in prep school but it was more of a messy, DIY type thing than a permanent, professionally done thing.

No, I don’t exactly need money. I guess if I was very poor I would.

1. I lived in the United States at one point

3. I have had multiple head injuries. Multiple is an understatement.

Grace Cardinal, people who had good childhoods and people who use healthy coping mechanisms.

No, but I did for a while when I was a kid. I had a stuffed dog named Brownie.

Let’s see...Esme and I first got together in January 2016. There were a few short breakups but we were still a thing until July 2016, when I was “with” someone else (shudder). I got back together with her in January 2017 and we have been together since. So technically we’ve been together a year and 7 months, but we’ve really been together for 2 years and 7 months.

It really depends on my mood. I’d say half full sometimes and half empty other times.

Chewy. Always has been and always will be. And Frankie and Hunter, even though they’re my siblings.

I had breakfast with Esme, listened to music and sang to a bunch of songs with Franks and wrote poetry. It was the best birthday I’ve had.

I wouldn’t come out of my room for months and I would be really depressed.

I would smoke a lot of weed, have a lot of sex, listen to some good music, spend some time around trees relaxing, get my affairs in order, and see everyone that I love and say goodbye.

That there was a giant Winnie the Pooh in the backyard of my childhood home and he stomped on the swing set and slide.

I suppose it depends, but for the most part in a relationship. If it was a boring, loveless, abusive relationship with no passion, single. If not, relationship.

A Beat Generation poet. I say this all the time. I was one of my generation’s best writers and friends with Jack Kerouac and Allen Ginsberg and we traveled the country together and did a lot of drugs.

I have a couple. Watching my favourite shows (The Koala Brothers, Max and Ruby) early in the morning, cheating with my siblings on this competition for catching fireflies, going to Disney with my family, watching all these strange and eclectic movies, and exploring the backyard of our second house.

I’ve experienced unrequited like with this guy a while ago, but not love.

1. These first three all go together. Tell me about the WIP you are currently working on!

Ahaha...well um on here, I talk about Castle of Roses, so I guess that’s the one I should go with?

Castle of Roses is going to be at least a duology—maybe a trilogy, depending? It follows two characters: North and Crispin. Crispin, is the royal healer, which means he spends a lot of time around the frail princess, Faith. Enough time, in fact, that he has fallen in love with her, and has resorted to using magic to keep her alive, despite having watched the use of magic kill his own mother.

North, on the other hand, is a thief who was raised by nymphs in the forest and, after years of stealing, is finally caught and brought before the queen. Her execution is interrupted by the news that the princess was poisoned, and in her desperation to live, North convinces the queen that due to her mother being a nymph, she can easily create a cure for the poison that is killingthe princess. This is, of course, a lie, and now she has to find one before the princess dies.

The second book is a little vague rn because I’m not sure what to do with it yet, but it focuses on finding who poisoned Faith, and a little more on the relationships developing between the characters.

The other story I’m focusing on at the moment I recently started on. It’s a remake of a manga I read and loved a few years ago, Alice in the Country of Hearts. It’s a VERY recent project, so I don’t have much about its plot.

2. What stage of writing are you in on your current WIP(s)?

Uh, well Castle of Roses is in the rough draft phase. The Alice story is still being planned.

3. What makes you most excited about your current WIP(s)?

Castle of Roses is a personal favorite because it’s my most planned story. I love the relationships between the characters and I’m confident in the twists I have planned out. I also really love the relationships between Faith & Crispin and North & Thorne (with a but of a bias for Faith and Crispin. They’re cute).

The Alice story, I’m probably most excited about the worldbuilding. I’m playing with the idea of basing most of the world on chess and cards, and it’ll be fun to implement those rules into the way the Wonderland works.

4. What time of day do you find you are the most productive and why do you think that is so?

Mostly late at night. I think it’s probably because my parents are asleep and the house is quiet, so it just feels more...peaceful? Except the sound of the cats running around the house lmao

5. Do you have a trope you will never get sick of?

Ohhh yeah lol. The biggest one is literally any romance with a royal character and someone of a lower class. Arranged marriages. Forbidden romances. The thing where someone gets hurt but can’t tell the others because they don’t want to worry them. Friends to lovers. Enemies to lovers. Redemption arcs. Just...so many.

6. What authors/books had the greatest impact on your own writing?

There are a few!

The Warriors series by Erin Hunter made me start writing. I started out writing terrible (like, truly terrible) fanfiction for this series. So it just...let me enjoy writing when I was a kid.

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. The series really impacted my view of the world and the themes that unconsciously make their way into my writing.

The Winner’s Curse series by Marie Rutkoski. Or well, I WANT to take notes from this series. The writing style is #goals for me and the use of symbols that come back throughout the books. God I love it. I wanna reread these now

Anything by Marissa Meyer. I love her fairy tale retellings and her characters.

7. What sort of things do you draw inspiration from?

Mostly other stories I like! A lot of things I make start out with me going, “I liked this relationship dynamic and want to make characters with a similar one” or “I like this one trope a lot I should use it” and then I build from there.

8. Why did you start writing?

It’s kind of a weird story? So I hated writing as a kid because I only did it in the context of school writing assignments, which were then hung up, read by parents, and laughed at. I hated it so much that my mom actually has a paper in her office somewhere where I was supposed to write a story, and I hated the assignment so much, I just summarized Barbie: the Island Princess and called it a day. I think in about fifth grade? I made a friend who loved the Warriors series so much at the time that she was writing fanfiction for it, and I started doing the same and found that I loved making characters and building stories around them. She and I and two other friends began writing original stories soon after, and I’ve been writing ever since, even when those friends stopped or I stopped being friends with them.

I would say the main reason my love for writing persisted, though, was because I became depressed about a year after I started writing, and it allowed me to create my own escape from the world at that time.

9. How do you structure your writing time (if there is a structure at all)?

I don’t really! I probably should though lmao

10. Do you have a playlist you like to listen to while writing? If so, what type of music is on it?

Sort of! Castle of Roses has its own playlist, as well as my superhero stories and G Project. None of them have a specific type of music, but the songs on each playlist tends to follow specific themes (eg, the superhero one tends to have songs related to mental health, superheroes, and looking to the future because that’s what the stories are largely about). The exception is Castle of Roses, which is really unorganized and all over the place. But it works lol!

1. what’s your go-to cure for writer’s block?

I don’t really have one. I don’t make myself write like most writers do, because I just end up with results that make me even more frustrated with my writing and make my writer’s block worse. But I do tend to focus more on my art when writer’s block hits, which usually means I’m drawing my characters.

2. what got you into writing?

I answered this above in ‘why did you start writing?’

3. what was the first thing you remember writing?

My first original story that I didn’t collaborate with anyone on was a story mostly ripped off from my then-friends. Basically the story was about several princes and princesses of varying natural elements (for example, fire, earth, lightning, etc) finding a girl outside of their (shared) home. They took her in, and through certain circumstances (what were they? Who knows! Certainly not me, now or then!) decided they had to get her home. The twist? This girl (our main character, by the way) was working for the antagonist, who wanted to drain these royals of their powers (and as a result, their lives) so that he could become the most powerful being in the universe.

4. how did you come up with the title of your wip?

Castle of Roses was actually named by my best friend @sweordoflight! They suggested it because it was so heavily focused on court politics, and the idea was that concept of everything looking pretty on the outside, but in reality being dangerous.

5. how did you come up with the idea for your current wip? what inspired it?

Castle of Roses actually was um. So it started out with the main four characters’ (North, Crispin, Thorne, and Faith) names and an anime faceclaim for each that I based their original personalities on. And then I built an entire story around them. And then I built and entire world around that story.

6. do you listen to music or do anything else to help you write?

I do listen to music sometimes! What kind depends on how in the zone I am, because if the answer is “not very” I can’t have music with lyrics. The other thing I do is usually just keeping a book close by, so I can look at it for a reference for my writing style.

7. how do you come up with character names? do they have special meanings?

I just search until I find The One tm lol. My friends get so frustrated because I ask them, “Hey, help me come up with names for this character” and they list off names and I’m like, “No, that doesn’t feel right.”

What’s hilarious is you’ll find a lot of characters who ended up paired together or very close friends whose names either start with the same letter or are very close to each other (Brooklyn and Brayden, Ellody and Eros, North and Thorne, Senya and Serysia, etc) and this is completely unintentional. It just happens and I don’t know why lmao

8. do you work on multiple wips at the same time or do you prefer to work on them one at a time?

Multiple WIPs, although I wish I could just focus on one at a time.

9. do you have any authors or books you admire or look up to as a role model/inspire you?

The Winner’s Curse series and Marissa Meyer come to mind off the top of my head. I’m way behind on all my books so I can’t think of any others rn.

10. favorite piece of writing advice?

“You don't write about the horrors of war. No. You write about a kid's burnt socks lying in the road.”

008. what are you doing for a living / what are you studying? ha, so, long story short, i’m sick, i’ve not been able to go to school because of it and i basically spend more time at the doctors/in hospitals than i have in school these past few years. i actually had my whole life planned out and worked really hard but i got really sick and so yeah, i do things here and there, projects for my own sake to keep my brain from going CRAZY ( though i’m a lil crazy ), so!! yeah, i guess i’m a professional sick person at this point.

009. what’s your dream occupation? if i wasn’t sick, if my life had gone according to what it should’ve been, i would’ve been a professional soccer/football player and then gone to med school. now, i don’t know if i could ever become a doctor after how they’ve treated me in general. i sort of want to be an author and write my own books, but truth be told, i really don’t have the ability to think about this because i am disabled and unable to work / even go to school. maybe my dream occupation would be anything involving helping people? i don’t know. i just want to be a good, happy, healthy, person.

But on winter I can sleep with two wool blankets or even more... :) Dream Job: Cardiothoracic Surgeon or any kind of doctor in general :)) It’s been my dream since I was two, I just love anatomy...<3 (probably I shouldn’t add my temporary dreams too, like becoming an actress, a Broadway singer, a detective or a novel writer and artist, should I?^^) Dream Trip: aaah hard to say, but I think it would be a road trip in Arizona or any western desert part in general, while driving an old rusty convertible car (preferably an impala, of course), watching the ruby sun going down into the lakes painted on the azure sky and the stars sparkling brightly at night, feeling the freedom air and humming old rock songs (and singing “take it easy” when I get to Winslow, AZ :D)... Also, another dream trip would be in my favorite cities: NYC (to see Tiffany’s and Broadway :)), Paris (mainly the opera house and get to sing “bonjour Paris” like in Funny Face) and Rome (driving a scouter or riding a vintage bike on the old streets, while picking ruby geraniums and singing Dean Martin songs aahh). Also, a trip to provence where I can dance through the lavender fields, the Alpes with warm small cottages or Greece would be wonderful (as long as I can admire the landscapes and the local culture with not so many people around... ^^) Favourite Food: grilled chicken with french fries and any kind of dessert (chocolate especially)<33 Also a bunch of sour soups, pasta, fish, meat, pizza and hamburgers, jam with butter and honey, cereals with milk, bacon and eggs, meatballs, chicken soup with dumplings, boiled potatoes with butter and parsley, pancakes, and this list could go on and on.... (now I got hungry ugh...) What’s something you initially disliked, but ended up liking? Uhhh... I'm drawing a blank right now. If you’re interested in having a long term relationship with someone, do you think that waiting a certain amount of time before you first have sex is a good idea? Or does it not matter? I think it's a smart idea. To me personally, sex should be an intimate experience with someone you love, not with someone you don't know deeply. Have you ever discovered something big by looking through someone’s phone, Facebook, email, etc.? No, never snooped on someone. Do you have any financial regrets? Either way, what’s an example of a GOOD financial decision you’ve made? No, I've never really had to make big money decisions.
