there's barely a bllk fandom here but whatever, I want to talk about the evolution of themes in bllk. so I will.
the moral of blue lock isn't really "egoism trumps teamwork" and it isn't "teamwork was the answer all along." the moral of blue lock is that "egoism is not incompatible with teamwork; you need both, but egoism should be the catalyst for teamwork if you want to get the best out of everyone." the theme of blue lock evolves as we go to the newer arcs, but the main point always seems to be that you should expect the best of yourself and your teammates. aim high. don't settle for less than your ambition. demand the best from yourself, but also from everyone else. this is what isagi's playstyle is evolving into, and this is what his brand of egoism is going to be all about.
I was watching the trailers and I saw some people were skeptical of the premise, which, fair! soccer/football is a team sport! but blue lock (for the first ~150 chapters of the manga) is not about creating the best team, it's about creating the best striker. that one individual who will actually push the team to win the game.
the whole premise of why blue lock exists is because the manga asserts that japan's football culture already fosters solid teamwork and defense, but doesn't create strikers who are egoistic enough to make that finisher that wins the team points in the game. teamwork can get the ball close to the goal, but you need a player who won't second-guess himself and actually try to score a goal instead of passing it to another player (hello isagi of chapter one).
I'm wondering about this because idk if the manga was able to illustrate its concept so clearly until the U-20 match and the neo egoist league arc, and both don't happen until 100 chapters in (I guess I'll change my mind on a re-read).
manga spoilers under the cut:
if we look at the struggles of each team in the U-20 match, it's that blue lock eleven (isagi in particular) had a rough time getting goals in because the U-20 team had really good defense. this illustrates the strength of japan's current football culture. on the other hand, well, if we look at the scoreboard, the goals the U-20 team made were all from sae and shidou — the offensive players that are imports and aren't actually part of the japan's U-20 team. this, I think, was most illustrative of what the manga is trying to say about what japan's team is lacking and why blue lock is the answer to that.
we can also see here that "egoism trumps teamwork" was never the goal of the manga. ego himself selected the regulars of blue lock eleven based on who synergizes the best with rin. it's actually interesting to me that sae chooses the soloist striker shidou while ego carefully selects the team who can bring out the best of each other. this decision making is why he subs in barou later on as well. he's a wild card, but a wild card that pushes isagi, and therefore rin, to be better.
the difference between sae and ego is that sae did not have faith in the U-20 team because they cannot play on his level. which, let's be honest, it's gonna be really fucking boring to be the best in the team and not be able to link with anyone because they're mediocre in your eyes. ego doesn't have this problem, because he cultivated a culture where everyone is on the same level and wants to be the best all the time. this is what blue lock's egoism brings to the table. teamwork that is not based on compromise, or on what role/niche you fulfill. it is teamwork based on individual strength coming together through "chemical reactions." a team where everyone isn't boxed in their team role, but focuses on the actual goal of scoring points. this is why if karasu and chigiri are not busy defending, they will play the ball too. isagi might be the perfect midfielder, but if he never had the ego to want to score points himself and to position himself such that luck would rain upon him, if he only stuck to making sure the ball gets passed to rin or nagi, blue lock would not have won that game.
so that is blue lock's egoism in play. now let's talk about the neo egoist league, particularly with isagi trying to incorporate himself with the german team. here, he is confronted with two things: 1) the philosophy of his idol (noel noa) that's all about rational plays; 2) kaiser embodying the ideal efficiency that isagi was trying to achieve for himself. on an individual level, I think this arc is about isagi creating a vision for himself that's beyond that. to be the best in the world, he has to envision a future isagi who is better than his idol (noel noa), and who is better than what he thinks is the best evolution of his current self (kaiser). I have more thoughts on this but this will derail the topic of this post so uh. moving on.
more importantly, I think isagi's struggles in the german team is illustrative of the evolution of themes in blue lock. two things have changed in blue lock in this arc: 1) the goals have changed. whereas before, when blue lock aimed to create that one (1) best striker out of 300 students, now the situation has changed such that ego has enough power to literally be the new coach of the new U-20 team. the goal now is to select the best 23 players who will be part of the new U-20 team. you can even switch roles and not focus on being a striker anymore if that's the path you choose! and if you want to quit, well there's the auction system that guarantees your career, assuming you prove yourself enough to those who want to bid.
(also, side note: I kinda love the new auction system because it touches on the celebrity culture side of sports, and also it's a waaaay better system than the first one where getting eliminated means getting banned from japan's national team. anyway, I digress)
2) the second change in blue lock this arc is that everyone gets to play with other players of other nationalities now. they are confronted with a philosophy that's different from blue lock's egoism. will they incorporate that philosophy to boost their own ego, or will they be devoured by these new ideas?
this is particularly interesting in the german team, whose strategy is basically "be super efficient and pass the ball to the striker so he can score points." formulaic, but very straightforward! it works, so why fix what's not broken, right?
this is where I think blue lock's egoism, specifically isagi's, is truly challenged. as ego said, to join these teams you have to prove yourself that you're worth including, and that's either by replacing a team member, showing that you can mesh well with the existing team philosophy, or: dying the water with your color and devouring them yourself.
the thing is, isagi will never be satisfied with just assisting. his ego will never be happy with him just passing the ball to kaiser. the german team's strategy works but it won't be satisfying to an egoist player. isagi works best when everyone else around him is at their best. but the german team only focuses on kaiser being the star. there is no room for another player to score goals here. there is no room for growth for everyone else, really.
and this is why I think isagi's playstyle and egoism (which, in the end, is going to be blue lock's metaphorical representative style of egoism) is going in the direction of demanding the best of its players, not just himself. his puzzle soccer strategies rely on this. he believes that bachira will be able to dribble the ball past whoever marks him. he believes that rin will surpass sae. he believes in kunigami's super powerful left foot and being a hero. isagi might be a "rational" thinker, but his game sense goes beyond rationality. he incorporates things like "luck" and "trust" (trust that his teammates are evolving and being at their best).
to be an egoist is to demand the best of yourself. isagi's brand of egoism is that he also brings out the best of others, and uses their evolution to challenge himself to be better. he demands the best out of everyone. which circles back to what he said in the tag game where kira got eliminated: isagi's goal is to be the best by challenging the best, not trampling on the weak.
and this contrasts with how kaiser's team works. kaiser is the egoist striker of the german team. and if we follow the original premise of blue lock (create the best striker and put them in the existing national team), you should end up with something like kaiser's team. an egoist striker with a teamwork-based team.
but that is not the egoism nor the kind of team that isagi wants. and this is why I think blue lock (the manga) is evolving its own theme as well.
I've been thinking for a while how isagi will become the best striker in the world. in his current state, he's an excellent offensive midfielder and shadow striker. but he isn't the forward, he isn't the star like nagi or rin. but I think blue lock is changing directions as a manga. blue lock's remaining players are now being tested on how strong the egoism philosophy really is when played in the real world. this is no longer about building a striker's individual ego, but exploring how that striker's ego is going to elevate their team and bring them to victory. this is the striker's ego put into practice.
but also, ego is now creating a U-20 team instead of refining one striker out of 300. the manga wants to change japanese football culture, and what's a more radical change than creating a team completely made of egoists? how does that even work? well, it probably looks like the blue lock eleven team. a team where defenders and midfielders who will try to score goals too. if you ask isagi, that's probably the best kind of team to be in.
all that to say: I'm really looking forward to where the manga is going, and I really hope that people will give the anime a chance. I understand the first 100 chapters is about establishing what egoism is, and they are really entertaining on their own! but to me the real pay off is in when the U-20 match starts. also probably the end of the second selection with bachira's ego development, that was also really good. there's something to be said about bachira and reo playing on the same level as others, and making sure you always catch up and not fall behind. if you want to play with the best, you also have to be one of the best. and that itself also takes ego to acknowledge.
omg I did not expect this to be this long. idk who's reading this but if you made it to the end, hi, ty for going through all that. read blue lock with me yeah??

Industrial Air Hockey Tables
Air hockey is still a fast-paced competitive game, meant to pattern ice hockey, however, which can readily be performed without use of a noodle. Commercial air hockey tables are seen at arcades, restaurants, bar, homes, recreation rooms and college dorms all over the world, plus they're the essential object of devices required to play. In additional to the table, pucks and mallets are also required for perform.
For anybody presently looking to purchase the best air hockey tables to get their own arcade or enterprise, they will want to begin by evaluating some of the top manufacturers. They're produced by a number of organizations, including Valley-Dyamo, Play craft, Sport craft and Carom. Valley-Dyamo-made tables are the only business air hockey tables currently approved for play with the United States Air Hockey Association (USAA), however tables designed and assembled by additional manufacturers undoubtedly are doing compare. Much like absolutely any item, some of these makers provide greater of a luxury item, while others, such as for example for instance Carom, are considered more of the budget product that is suited to players.

Air is pumped throughout the holes creating a pillow of atmosphere which permits the puck to slide just over the top with hardly any without a friction. The consequence with this atmosphere process is quicker play, so which makes this type of notoriously fast game. Industrial dining table makers, this type of Valley-Dynamo and Carom often add additional features with their own tables not only on average found in residential-use tables which make the activity more exciting, for example, an increased efficiency air blower that makes for the cheapest flames and more consistent air flow.

When picking a table for virtually any organization, buyers will require looking at both distance constraints and budget worries. The EℓyXiOn : Chapter 2 : Snow Blaze

Snow brings a special quality with it,the

BERLIN. 05:07
Tumblr media
Fuyumi had a total of 365 days to try to forget the exact shade of red that was Kris’s blood, Tao’s blood, even Althea’s blood when the assassins dug out the Tree’s essence from the slight women’s heart, but when the bartender pours her a complimentary glass of red wine after Fuyumi stumbles through the door with bloodshot eyes, it’s like a day hasn’t passed since she saw three of her closest friends, some of her only friends, die, and she could do nothing to stop it.
“Don’t want it,” she says lowly, pushing the glass back. If this wasn’t her normal bartender, Fuyumi might have thrown the glass to the ground. It’s for the better she doesn’t. Then, it really would look no different from the bloodbath that had occurred a year ago.
“You look rough,” says the bartender, his voice fuzzy with exhaustion. It’s too late—or just too early—for anyone to sensibly be here, but the bar is open twenty-four hours, closed only on Tuesdays, and with the crowd around Berlin, it’s never empty.
Fuyumi makes up only a handful of guests remaining, and she is by far the soberest. “It’s a rough day,” she admits, and before the bartender can start doing that magical thing of his that tempts Fuyumi to spill every single one of her secrets, confess every one of her sins, she gets off the barstool. “I think I’m just going to turn in. Let you have an easy one until dawn.”
“Take a shot for the road! It’s fucking freezing out there.”
“It’s fine, I got this.” Fuyumi pops on a fuzzy hunter’s hat, which protects her head, exposed now more than ever thanks to the short layered haircut she got in order fit in better with the Berliners. “And I have that bottle of whisky you recommended back at my place.”
The bartender grins. “That’s my girl.”
“Gute Nacht,” Fuyumi chimes as she steps out the bar and into the dark.
It’s louder outside than in the bar. Berlin loathes sleep. A light always burns, a building always churns out the thud of music, voices caught in the distance, carrying on a wind. For how sprawled out the city is, a beat carries across its veins, keeping the whole place alive.
Fuyumi has spent nights like these joining the nocturnal crowd. She wanders block by block, walking long distances that could be felt in her joints the next day. Every time she runs into someone on these predawn explorations, she wonders if it’s them.
Almost four million people in one city, and not once has Fuyumi ever seen a glimpse of one of the Guardians. She has scrutinized faces, trying to draw details onto them that aren’t there. A map of facial moles; a jaw sculpted finer than a statue’s; lips as downy as the pillows she hoards on her bed.
Today, the thought of EXO becomes more painful than ever. She can’t bare another walk spent on hoping, longing for a family She once took for granted.
She goes home to a shabby upstairs apartment, swinging the key around her finger on the five-minute walk over from the bar. It’s freezing outside, but lucky for Fuyumi, she has always liked the cold.
Not that she can do much with it anymore. Once, with the furrow of her brow, or the quirk of her lips, Fuyumi would be able to cast a layer of frost across every surface in sight, but ever since she was ripped away from her friends, since their last mission, she can barely drop the temperature around her to sub-zero with a heavy sigh.
At least she can still chill her whisky glass with touch alone. As soon as she’s back in her apartment, She grabs the first clean glass in her cabinet and carries it while rummaging for the whisky bottle she always places just a toe out of reach, so she’d be less tempted to knock an extra glass back at the end of the night. By the time she brings it down from the shelf, frost lattices the glass, a filigree of stark white outmatching the carven designs.
She pours two fingers worth of liquid fire and plops down onto the couch. The TV setup that came with the apartment is powered off. Usually she finds no need for its programs, but she wants them tonight. Left to her thoughts, and she’ll be seeing red all over again.
She turns on the TV and looks for a soccer match to watch. It’s a sport she has come to enjoy while stuck on this planet.
A channel broadcasts the German women’s national team’s friendly match with Nigeria from earlier in the week. She has already heard the score and a highlight reel from chatter around her, which it makes it all that more comforting to watch.
she tries to relax into her seat and simply watch as the ball darts across the field.
It has only been a minute of playtime, when she looks over the scoreboard broadcasted on the corner of her screen. Germany vs Nigeria.
Nigeria…
Could one of the Guardians be there?
She throws her head back and groans. It turns out soccer isn’t safe for her mind either. Matches between different countries always makes her question whether she is in the right place. What if Junmyeon has made a home in Argentina? What if Baekhyun is part of the South African crowd, cheering obnoxiously louder than the rest?
And if that isn’t the question on her mind—thewhere—then the other is: is she trying hard enough to find her family?
Watching the players sweat and fight and hit the grass hard enough to bruise reminds of every single battle Fuyumi has waged and defended. Every sweat-soaked, blood-drenched, frost-ridden fight he has carried out as a member of EXO. Back to back with Bronte, dealing out punches as Noa holds back her enemy, using Junmyeon’s conjured water as supply to feed her own war path of ice and fury.
All of it is scar tissue now, but she picks at it every so often, indulging in the pain of memories. She’d reopen any wound if it meant being back with EXO.
Then why has she stayed here this whole time? Since appearing in Germany’s largest city, she has never made any attempt to step beyond the country’s borders. she has searched Berlin’s streets, its bars, its museums and railways for EXO, but has stretched no further.
Around 7.7 billion people in this world, gathered together in countries and provinces and villages. How is she to know where eight people fit into that jigsaw of civilization?
she brings her head back down to watch the game.
The match has been erased from the TV screen. All color has leeched out from the picture, and so have shapes and solid sound. Though the remote rests out of her grasp, the channel has seemed to change over to something strange—something she has never seen broadcasted before.
The screen is made up of numbers, words, flickering pixels of black and white, pumping like a heartbeat. The newfound light strobes across the darkened room. Fuyumi’s face is painted in streaks of white one moment, before falling into true darkness the next.
Then, all at once, the screen freezes. While it has gone still, the room hums with new life, an energy that raises the hair along Fuyumi’s arms.
Through petrified streaks of black and white cutting through the screen, barely seeable through static, is a series of numbers.
She rips a page out of a nearby book and searches for a pen. By the time she finds one beneath the coffee table, she’s afraid to look back at the screen, in case the haphazard numbers have vanished.
They’re still there, and she drops to her knees right in front of the screen in order to make them out as clearly as possible. she copies them down onto the ripped page, digging the pen’s tip so it threatens to split the paper.
Once she is certain she has them written correctly, copied over in bold so they overpower the printed words of the damaged book, she lowers the pen and paper.
She stretches her hand towards the screen to see if it will move under her touch. The closer she gets, the louder the hum grows around her. Louder, louder, LOUD—
Electricity lances up her arm, so jarring she yelps and tumbles onto her backside. The power is snuffed out from the TV, and the screen goes dark, taking all light with it.
Seated in the dark, shaking from the bolt of electricity that ran up and down her body, using her spinal cord like a conduit, an incredulous laugh leaves her chest. “Bronte,” She murmurs. “It’s you.”
It has to be. Who else has such a striking power? Who else has a knack for the impossible?
Fuyumi has no idea how Bronte found her. She has no idea where the thunder Guardian is leading her, but she will follow. She would follow her blind, would follow her numb.
And though Fuyumi has gotten used to the cold, once loved it like another brother even, this burst of heat coursing through her body is something she treasures more.

From the Desk of Decaying Phoenix: I Own Death’s Cloak
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Welcome back my little chicks for another horror filled story. Tonight, I bring you a story that is a millenia in the making, as we all know when faced with Death, in an untimely manner you have a chance to play it for a second chance, and if you win, you also get one request when brought back. Well, I have a very interesting story for you all tonight.
“Today, I got a very interesting gift; actually, you could say I got two gifts. Let me go back to the beginning and tell you the story.” I said as I took a swig from my mug.
“Well, what do you mean you got two gifts?” Susan asked looking at me from her dinner menu.
“Well, as I said, I need to go back to the beginning.” I replied taking another swig from my mug. “Do you remember when I was shot during that bank robbery and doctors said I wasn’t going to make it?”
“Yeah, they said it was a miracle that you survived. How did you do it?” She asked again, taking a sip of her drink.
“Are you aware of Death’s rule to challenge it to a game for a second chance?” I said finishing my drink.
“Well yes, but what does that have to do with what happened?”
“As I lay on that bed dying, time sort of stopped. I saw Death walk up to me and tell me it was time, I said I wasn’t ready and demanded a second chance! Death had to follow its rules. Then in this otherworldly voice it answered me. 'You demand? Who are you that demands of me?' It said. ‘I am one who needs to go back to the world of the living.’ ‘Needs? Everyone needs to, but what makes you so special?’ ‘I am a cop, I have lives to protect.’ ‘As though I haven’t heard that before, I will only play you because you interest me.’ ‘I need to go back.’” I said trying to stay in my body as long as I could.
"Oh come on, that's a load of bull, and you know it." Susan said slamming her mug down. "Just admit it was a miracle and leave it at that."
"I'm telling you this is what happened. Let me continue and then, if you want, I'll prove it to you."
“Okay fine, I’ll humor you.” She said grabbing her next drink.
“Well, after having asked for a second chance, I challenged Death to a very simple fighting game I was very good at and experienced in. It foolishly accepted my offer and we were underway, little did I know that the fighters would be connected to us, as my character took a hit I felt it, but as my opponent was hit, they felt nothing, I was winning the game and before I was able to win, the game shut off, and I yelled and asked what the hell happened. ‘Sorry, I don’t know what happened, why don’t you name another game.’ It said. Well I proceeded to pick another game, a game of chance, Battleship, I said. ‘Done.’ It said. And our game was underway, we played, ship to ship, I was still in the lead and just before I sunk the last one, a gust of wind blew. ‘Hey what the hell?’ I yelled again. ‘Are you sure you’re playing fair?’ ‘You, dare accuse me of cheating?’ It replied. ‘Well, what would you call it, twice I have nearly won and twice the games have ended before I was able to win. What is going on?’ ‘I do not know, this world is not my own, this is your world. Perhaps you do not wish for the game to end.’ It said. 'Hey I want to go home.' I replied. 'Fine, one last game, how about whatever falls from the sky we play, should be fair.' 'As you wish.' It said. As I finished saying this a soccer ball fell from the sky. 'So, a soccer match it is.' I thought to myself. Two goals appeared, along with a scoreboard. A whistle blew and the game was on."
"Come on you can't be serious? This is ridiculous." Susan said laughing. "You're telling me you had the chance to win not once but twice, and you didn't take it."
“Look, I don’t know why I didn’t okay. Maybe I felt it wasn’t enough of a challenge, but let me continue okay, this is where it gets really good.”
“Fine, but next round is on you.”
“Yeah, sure, anyway. Here we were each with our respective teams the game was all tied up five minutes on the clock, neither team giving an inch, and then I saw my opening, I charged the goal as fast as I could, I had the ball, I was moving fast. I started doing hat tricks and other moves I had never imagined before, I faked the goalie and kicked the winning goal. I had finally done it. I had beaten Death in a game. We shook hands and Death made me an offer, one I could not pass up, it was too good of a deal. ‘You were a worthy adversary; how would you like my cloak, however in exchange you work for me.’ I was perplexed, what did  Death need someone working for it? ‘What does the job entail?’ I was curious, I had to know. ‘From time to time souls that fail to win a second chance run from me, and end up roaming purgatory escaping their fates. I need someone who can round them up.’ I mean that seemed crazy, I thought Death just reaped them and that was it right. Oh I was wrong. ‘How would I do this, and how much is it going to interfere with my second chance at life?’ I had to know more can you blame me? ‘No time will be taken from you, when I call time will stop as it has now and you will go where I point, you will not age, you will not hunger, so long as you wear my cloak you will be me.’ It said. ‘What about in the world of the living? Can I use it there?’ Oh the possibilities that ran through my mind.  ‘Yes, you can, you own it. You can use it wherever you see fit.’ I didn’t have to think about it. I had to take it, do you know what that would mean for my career as a cop?” I finished as the waitress brought over two more drinks.
“Yeah, come on, this is all a nice story, maybe you imagined it all as you were being operated on.” Susan said taking her fresh drink. “How am I supposed to believe that all of this really happened, did you say you’d prove it to me?”
“Yeah you’re right, but when I prove you wrong that it wasn’t a dream, dinner is on you, and I get to pick where we go, deal?” I said sticking my hand out.
“Fine, I’ll keep humoring you, what are you going to do? Disappear right before my eyes, come on don’t be silly, just admit it’s a load of bull and lets keep drinking.”
“No I’ll prove it to you, do you see that signed picture of The King on the wall over there?” I said pointing to a wall on my left.
“Yeah, what about it?”
“You always said you wanted it, so it’s yours.”
“Oh yeah, you’re sooo going to get it, without getting us kicked out of our favorite bar.”
“I am, watch.”
I proceeded to pull the cloak out of my back pocket, neat little trick I learned, handkerchief to everyone else, Death’s cloak to me. I wrapped it around my hand, and time froze. I took a nice stroll over to the wall and picked up the picture and strolled back, picking up a nice order of wings and chips on my way back, what’s victory without food right? I put the picture in Susan’s hands and set the chips and wings down on the table, I always loved this bar’s food.
“Well? What do you think? Am I still full of bull?” I said putting the cloak in my back pocket.
“Wait, how did you? Come on this is a fake right?” Susan said looking over at the wall seeing the missing picture, her jaw dropping seeing it wasn’t there. “Come on this is a prank right?”
“Yeah, and so are these wings and chips.” I said taking a bite from a wing.
“Dear God, who else knows about this?”
“Just you, and now it’s our little secret.”
“Fine, but how?”
“Secret, remember? Now what do I want for dinner?”
Well my little chicks this concludes our little tale. Are you brave enough to confront Death and ask for a second chance? Will you be the next owner of It’s cloak? Only one way to find out. For now, happy screams.

Essence of Competition
Tumblr media
(sketch by Psuedofolio)
Just spitballin’ some ideas for a goofy Lady Shiva/Cass adventure:
- Bruce gets the news that Lady Shiva is back in Gotham. Cass sneaks out to face her because she doesn’t want anyone else to risk it. Finds Shiva playing darts in a random bar. Turns out she was tracking a secretive grandmaster but he already skipped town so she’s leaving soon. But before that, maybe Cass would like to join her in a friendly game of darts?
- World’s most intense game of darts ensues and ends in a draw. Shiva suggests they move to the pool table. Cass struggles a bit with this one so Shiva wins, but Cass is fired up enough to demand a rematch and an actual fight. Shiva thinks about it for a second and agrees to a rematch... on air hockey.
- Rest of the week is just Cass going out and meeting Shiva every day for an all-out match of something. Batting. Bowling. Juggling. Table tennis. Actual tennis. Cooking. Interior decorating. Soccer penalty shots. No-holds barred disco dancing. Basically just a collection of Yakuza minigames.
- Lady Shiva singing Baka Mitai.
- Bruce and co keep catching Cass looking up videos on embroidery or guitar playing 101 and figure she’s finally decided to pick up a hobby, but at some point she drops a small, crudely-written scoreboard she’s keeping and has to fess up.
- Bruce wants her to stop right now until someone notes that every day Cass spends playing around with Shiva is a day Shiva is not out killing people. He gives it some thought and allows Cass to stick with it, on the condition that she lets them help her train.
- Cass manages to turn her score around and on the very last day wins by just one point by beating Shiva at Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike. Shiva thanks her for the good times and leaves, but not before making Cass promise she’ll indulge her some more next time.
- Epilogue: Barbara mentions to Bruce that by appealing to her competitive nature, Shiva pushed Cass to learn more stuff on her own in two weeks than Barbara herself taught her in years. She wonders if maybe that was Shiva’s plan all along, but Bruce is unsure if she’s even capable of making plans like that. And yet...

Following Manchester United’s partnership with blockchain firm Tezos almost one month ago, Manchester City’s foray in the space through its partnership with crypto exchange OKX provides new competition in vying for technological prominence. Leading English soccer club Manchester City has announced an inaugural partnership with cryptocurrency exchange OKX across both its men’s and women’s teams, as well as the club’s emerging esports ventures.According to the club’s press release, the collaboration will focus on “exclusive experiences for OKX’s global customer base, in addition to an in-stadium presence across the Etihad Stadium and Academy Stadium.”OKX, which rebranded from OKEx earlier this year, is the second-largest spot exchange in the industry, reportedly having reportedly over 20 million customers and facilitating over $4.3 billion in normalized trading volume over the past 24 hours. This total places it ahead of Coinbase, which is in third at approximately $3.3 billion, but a ways behind Binance’s dominance at the top of the table with over $16.2 billion.OKX CEO Jay Hao noted that “Manchester City is a Club that represents the effect football has to make a positive difference in people’s lives, to bring people together around a shared love of the beautiful game.”Welcome to @okx, Official Cryptocurrency Partner of Manchester City.Game On! — Manchester City (@ManCity) March 4, 2022 Related: Penalties and extra time: The scoreboard for soccer club crypto dealsAmid an ever-present rivalry and fierce jostle for bragging rights in the city of Manchester — especially in light of the upcoming derby match this Sunday — both clubs’ commercial sides are taking considerable strides in the digital asset space, respectively scoring lucrative deals with industry firms and racing to expand their influence in the Web3 sphere.Manchester United preceded its counterparts by teaming up with blockchain firm Tezos in early February to become its official training kit and technology partner, and it has plans to enter the metaverse and nonfungible token (NFT) collectible spaces. In April 2021, Forbes published statistics ranking the world’s most valuable soccer clubs. While Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid took the top spots, Manchester United came in fourth with a value of $4.2 billion and a 2020 revenue of $643 million. Meanwhile, Manchester City came in sixth place at $4 billion and $609 million.Similarly, fellow Premier League club Arsenal, based in North London, attempted to enter the fan-token market only to be halted in their endeavors by the Advertising Standards Authority for breaching rules and, according to the regulatory body, “irresponsibly taking advantage of consumers’ inexperience and for failing to illustrate the risk of the investment.” Go to Source

Enter Red Legion
A female Awoken sat alone at a small table, set outside one of hundreds of food spots nestled around The Last City. An orange awning shielded her, and a purple-colored Ghost that hovered in close to her, from the rain that had begun to trickle overhead. Warm lanterns provided light for them, along with other customers that had gathered. She continued diligently eating a large plate of purchased food, chicken curry with rice, as her Ghost studied her most recent sketches and writing in her opened journal set to the side. Occasionally other patrons would get up to cheer in the other area beside her, to which she’d look up from her plate to the holovid screen they were watching. Another Crucible match was being broadcast, two high-end fireteams were currently matched and were neck and neck in score. She gave a chuckle at the civilians' excitement, she always found it cute that they got so excited for the matches, as if it were like an important soccer match.
“Who do you think will win this match, Elara?” her Ghost asked.
She looked to him, to see he had now turned his attention to the screens as well. She finished chewing a mouthful of her tastefully prepared food as she checked the scoreboard again.
“Mmm.. I think red has a chance, they just need to be a bit more aggressive to stagger blue,” she soon answered, “If they get a power play, they’ll ruin their streak.”
“That’s fair,” her Ghost responded.
She went back to eating again, but paid a bit more attention to the final round. It was nice to finally get some time off duty. Things had been a bit stagnant for her the past few days, so she took some time off to run some errands and spend time down in the City. This restaurant was one of the many she was fond of, but she had been craving this specific meal for over a week now.
“Question, are you done looking it over?” she asked her Ghost, pointing with a finger to her journal.
He gave a soft nod to her. She folded the spine back over to shut it, exposing the aged leather cover, before stashing it with a single hand in the side pouch on her belt.
“So where are we headed first after this?,” her Ghost pondered aloud.
“Well I’m really hoping to find some new textiles for the apartment, I know I want new curtains at least,” she answered, “But also there’s that new shop that I-”
Ka-poom!
An abrupt collision loudly sounded from far behind her, rumbling the ground slightly, as more smaller sounding hits followed. Elara instantly jumped up in alarm.
“What was that?!” she blurted out to her Ghost.
The others around her also took notice, turning in their seats with their attention now towards the sound. She looked up at the feed of the Crucible match again to see a static screen. She grabbed her helmet she had rested on the table and darted off for the nearest clearing for a break in the buildings to see what that noise was coming from. She knew there was no way it was the faint thunderstorm brewing on the outskirts of the wall. She stopped in a clear viewing spot a moment later without issue. What she found overhead was an extremely sudden and unwelcome sight.
Approaching the city was a fleet of airships carrying the storm clouds with them. They had masked their approach while in view of the Tower’s watch posts with giant machines that dumped dark smoke below them. Dozens of smaller gunships broke off from the envoy and turned their sights onto the city below. The area around Elara shook as more gunfire battered the buildings at all sides. Citizens who had gathered around to look in a second of confusion turned and ran screaming in every direction. Elara equipped her helm, along with the rest of her gear.
“Who is that?!” she asked her Ghost, as she began pushing through the chaotic crowd to get another vantage point.
“I don’t know, obviously not friends of ours! I’ll see what the Vanguard reports are and open up comms,” he nervously responded, staying in close reach at her side.
A large explosion sounded from above, a ways ahead of them, shaking her surroundings more violently.
That’s definitely not good…
Elara pushed herself around a corner, and looked up to where the Tower sat in watch atop the City walls, to find it smoking with a freshly collapsed side. She stared frozen in shock. There was no way… How had they managed to get so close without raising alarms? The gunfire continued more aggressively as the ships moved closer in, a clawed contraption on one moving towards the Traveler. Was this really happening? Were the people up in the Tower okay?!
“Work faster on accessing the Vanguard comms! We need to get up there and help!” Elara panicked. She hurled herself forward on her heels, weaving her way through the panicked crowds as fast as she could towards where she had left her ship.
The sounds around her faded briefly as she turned down side streets to dodge the panicked crowds. She vaulted or blinked over any obstacles in her path, her breath growing heavier from the physical activity. One of the nearby back doors flew open, a human and an Exo darting out into the same alley. They just barely managed to throw their weight back to avoid colliding with her, watching her pass before running in the same direction. The light of an opening to a main street of the district shined ahead of her, almost like a beacon of hope.
Elara almost flew past the end of the buildings, skidding to turn where the ships were coming from and looked up at the skies above. Aerial dogfights had already begun taking up the area, the smoke flashing with light from gunfire all around. Both allied and enemy forces now fought with furocity for an advantage. On the left, an enemy ship spiraled out of control encompassed in thick black smoke and flame. The sound of a crushing impact against stone and metal followed moments later.
An almost uncountable number of civilians fled together up the wide cobble street, only a select few stopping to look overhead to witness the events unfolding before them. Nearly fifty yards out, where the groups were moving away from, Elara could faintly see a heavily armored figure. She forced her way out towards them, almost being swept off her feet at least once. When she got closer, she could identify them immediately. It was another Guardian, a Titan directing the people to move with one hand, while holding an assault rifle in the other.
“Hey Titan, need any help?!” Elara yelled out to them through her helmet.
The Titan’s armored head whipped around to see who was calling out to them. She jumped and glided over to break the remaining distance between the both of them.
“Always welcome my friend, thank you,” a man’s voice responded to her with a welcoming, relieved sigh.
The crack of distant ground gunfire drew both of their attentions back forwards.
“Question, give me a quick-fire gun,” Elara said.
Not a moment later, an smg effortlessly flickered into existence in her hands. She turned to face the Titan again, who was looking down the sight of his gun.
“Let’s go,” Elara said.
The Titan gave a reaffirming nod, and they both darted towards the source of distress. Sure enough, not far down the street, enemy forces had landed and had begun storming the area. This was all happening too fast, this had to be a coordinated group. Elara could only make out their size, which was heavyset, and a few flashes of red.
“Do you know who they are?” she questioned the Titan.
“Cabal by the looks of it, not sure numbers or if they have allies,” he responded.
More cover fire, followed by more high-pitched screams, rang out overhead.
“Fuck, they’re going for the people,” Elara growled loudly.
They had to get over there now, but there was still a considerable distance and obstacles in their way. Think Elara, think…
A crazy idea flashed in her mind and she stopped, grabbing at the Titan’s arm. He stopped and looked at her, visible confusion washing over him.
“Can you throw me?” Elara asked.
“Excuse me?” the Titan confusedly muttered.
Elara set her gun on the back of her belt. “If I can get in the air, I can clear the distance faster. Throw me, now!”
He looked down at her and nodded, backing up a few feet. He signaled for her to come at him with a wave of his hand, holding his right arm in a tight bend in front of him. A purple shield flashed into being onto his wrist. Elara pushed herself back a bit further and exhaled deeply, shaking herself in preparation, before sprinting at him.
Just before she hit him head on, she jumped up, pulling her legs in at the knees. Her feet found purchase on his sentinel shield, and he sent her upwards with one strong toss as she springboarded off.
Time stopped for a moment. She was flying feet above the entire crowd. She spiraled in a corkscrew, waiting until she had visual to make her next move. When she did, sure enough there was a wave of enemy Cabal marching in unison towards their position. She raised her right hand higher as they finally caught sight of her overheard, moving their guns from the city civilians onto her. She couldn’t help but smirk slightly. They were too slow.
Flames erupted around her with an accompanying sharp, ringing cry. Wings took form on her back to help carry her, as a fiery sword emerged like a flare from her extended palm. All of the Cabal were firing upon her now, and time quickened back to normal again.
She dodged through a series of aerial dashes and hurled the sword formed out of her very essence down onto them. It crashed into them with intense speed, taking out multiple troops in one hit. More kept advancing to take her down in retaliation, but she kept moving. It didn't matter, she had more Dawnblade swords for them, something that she gladly immediately showed them. With the final blade, she dived down from above, striking it into the last of their numbers before standing calmly on firm ground again unscathed.
She scanned her surroundings in the moment of reprieve that her skillful display had given her. Just around the curve of the main path, she caught a desperate cry. Up ahead, an Awoken laid in pain on the ground, trying to desperately rise to their feet. Another figure was trying to help them up, as more people flooded around them quickly. Elara darted for them, laying a reassuring hand on the figure’s shoulder to alert them of her presence.
They jumped slightly, their face shooting back in her direction. It was another Awoken, young and feminine in appearance with long raven-colored hair pushed behind their shoulders. A small cut was fresh atop their forehead, their bright glowing eyes filled with nothing but fear. Elara turned her attention to the Awoken lying on the ground to tend to their injuries. She looked to be female, roughly the same age as the other, but with bright purple hair trimmed close to frame her face. The white markings across her face were wrinkled in worry as she labored through heavy breaths.
Elara turned to her leg, the source of immediate and obvious concern. She seemed to acknowledge this, shifting it slightly for her searching eyes and hand. A long gash seeped into a tear along the shin of her trousers. It looked as if both were so busy running, they ignored their bumps and bruises. In their panic, the girl tripped and twisted her ankle amongst the surrounding chaos. Elara gently set her hand on the girl’s leg, closing her eyes as she narrowed her focus onto her Light- onto healing.
She felt the energy extend out, enveloping the girl’s injuries with a soothing comfort. The girl gasped slightly in surprise and Elara opened her eyes again. The blood had stopped and the girl anxiously moved her ankle, receiving no immediate pain or discomfort. Deep guttural speech and footsteps sounded from above the hill, ripping Elara’s attention from them. More Cabal were arriving, separating into squads to cover more ground. One had taken notice and was marching for them. Elara pushed herself up to her feet in front of the two, to prevent them from being hit, and grabbed her smg again from the back of her belt. She was ready to take them on, so the others could flee to safety.
A flash of purple flew above her, bashing into the Cabal forces with incredible speed. It ricocheted off the enemies, knocking them out before flying back towards her. The Titan from before landed beside her catching it, his shield, before it fizzled out of existence.
“Thanks,” Elara exhaled.
He nodded to her, before running to meet any others that remained head on with his guns and fists. Elara turned back to the two Awoken she helped, happy to find them both already on their feet.
“Thank you,” the purple-haired Awoken shakily muttered to her. She put her arm on her friend’s shoulder, who helped carry some of her weight without a single word.
“Of course,” Elara quickly said, “Now go, get out of here.”
They both nodded and quickened their pace away to join in the evacuation process.
Elara’s attention returned back to her new Titan ally, who had already cleared a considerable amount ahead. Elara wasn’t surprised, that was just how Titans were. She shook her head and gave a single chuckle before rushing to catch up.
“I got through!” Question’s voice suddenly rang loudly in relief.
“One sec!” Elara shouted to him, running along a manmade incline of supplies and construction. She jumped off, throwing a grenade of pure paracausal energy across into the distance. It split into multiple seekers that all latched onto the closest enemies, a group of wardogs that sniffed them out, and exploded them into mist. Elara tucked and rolled as she fell back to the street, pushing herself up against a small bit of protruding wall beside the Titan.
“Cover me for a bit!” she raised her voice so he could hear her over the sound of his gun.
“Got it!” he responded, not taking his eyes off his targets.
Elara held her gun close to her chest and watched his back as she patched herself through with the help of her Ghost.
“Warlock Ves reporting, engaging Cabal in the Kitarni District. Requesting reports and backup,” she said as calmly as she could muster, “I repeat- Kitarni District requesting reports and backup!”
“Agent Ves, we’re on our way,” an unfamiliar, yet reassuring voice immediately responded, “Converge on Warren Square.”
“Copy!”
Elara flipped through the comms, finding dozens of other districts facing the same scenario as them. Reports were flooding in, everyone throwing out clear and cohesive intel as quickly as possible. She caught the name of the group they were dealing with multiple times- The Red Legion.
“Vanguard report- Evacuate all civilians to transports!” a very familiar voice finally ordered over comms. It was Ikora Rey, the Warlock Vanguard official.
Good, so that means people made it out of the Tower then.
“Copy Commander, is the Tower cleared?” Elara asked.
“The last of our transports are leaving. I will aid in further efforts below once I secure the Speaker.”
Elara muted the functions in her helmet, in order to return her attention back to what was transpiring around her.
“Question, keep an eye on comms for me with any updates,” she said.
“Already on it,” his welcoming voice chirped.
Elara turned around, peeking around cover with her gun hand, to aid the Titan.
“The Tower is mostly cleared, orders are to evac the rest in the city,” Elara shouted to him over their gunfire, “We need to regroup with others at Warren Square.”
He stopped firing. The area around them fell silent, other than the distant crack of bullets, rumble of explosions and thunder, and continuous blaring alarms. Elara looked back over her cover to find no Cabal left standing.
“Well then lead the way,” the Titan said, gesturing ahead with his free hand.
Elara pushed herself up, looking to both sides, before dashing out into the open. She knew the best routes to take, having traversed this section of the City multiple times over in her years. She was careful to keep to the sides, and the occasional deserted cart and abandoned stall. She knew they couldn’t risk being caught out in the open and they still had more than a few blocks to go. It was disturbing to her as they passed through how empty the place was now. The Last City was a safe haven for all people, no matter their race or creed. To think that this Red Legion would come here and destroy that ideal, to take away these peoples’ home and last place to exist without having to always look over their shoulder, it deeply angered her to her core. She looked up at the Traveler again, just barely making out its shape from behind the smoke and flashing lights of overhead fighting in the thick clouds. The clawed contraption she had seen earlier gripped onto the side facing where the Tower had stood.
Elara stopped abruptly in confusion and concern.
The Titan skidded to a halt just behind, almost knocking into her. “What is it?” he asked her.
“What are they doing to the Traveler?” she said, pointing up to where she was looking.
He followed her hand and paused for a moment when he finally realized it as well.
“I have no idea, but it can’t be good. Let’s keep moving.”
She begrudgingly nodded before moving again. Only a couple more blocks, come on.
“It’s three streets up, then you take a right. You keep going until you see the clearing on your left,” Elara told the Titan as they continued forward.
They made it to their turn without any issue or roadblock. Up ahead however, a few nearby explosions almost rocked them off their feet. Elara stopped for a moment, seeing fire take atop one of the larger buildings. Heavy footsteps were getting closer again. Both the Titan and her knew what that meant, and they stopped and positioned themselves accordingly with guns at the ready.
From the same direction, a small group of civilians ran into view. They had to have been caught between forces and fleeing. Elara threw herself to her feet, waving them down to come to her. One of them seemed to take notice, an Exo at the front, and gestured the others towards her. There was another Exo and an adult Awoken. The thing that hit her the hardest was finding that between them were a few adolescents. One of them was a tan-skinned Human girl, who held another small girl similar in appearance, likely a sibling, as tightly into her chest as possible. She covered her head with one hand, likely trying to keep her from witnessing anything that was happening to prevent any further fear. It didn’t stop the tears that were already soaking her cheeks. Elara moved further up, and switched to a pulse rifle, as they all ducked around her position for any place they could get cover. Not a moment later, the first of the Red Legion forces moved into view.
Elara held her ground, not daring to get closer, yet also not wanting to retreat. Anger boiled in her again. Anger for these innocent people. Anger for the hope of peace that would now be permanently shattered for them. Those kids would likely carry these invisible scars for years to come.
“Elara, the Speaker! He’s gone!” Question’s voice rang through her head without warning.
She ducked under the cement barricade she was shooting from, the meaning of his words still echoing in her ear.
“What do you mean he’s gone?!” she questioned her Ghost.
“I mean he’s GONE… Ikora gave the alert, his area was utterly destroyed.”
She mouthed swears under her breath, before turning back to fire off a few rounds and turning to the Titan a few feet across from her.
“The Speaker is gone! We need to get these people out of here now before things get worse!” she shouted over to him.
He was quiet for a moment, probably turning her grim news over in his head.
“Alright! I’ll block, you fire!” he responded.
Elara nodded back to him, covering him as he moved forward. From his wrist, another shield coalesced into being, this time with a wide tinted wall of energy. She watched as the enemy fire was practically eaten by this man’s light. She couldn’t help but be impressed. She didn’t waste anymore time however, blinking from her cover over to his side. It was almost like target practice now, but the forces were still swarming in.
A series of shapes darted above on the rooftops just on the edge of her peripheral vision. Elara whipped to the side, pegging them as more enemies, as she heard what sounded like energy scraping together as a purple-colored light appeared. It shot off like a comet into the distance, the air being cut sharply as it was released. Elara put her gun down, she knew now who they were.
The light hit one of the enemy Cabal square in the chest, immediately causing them to combust into similar purple energy that erupted into a bubbling mass. It latched onto the rest of the enemies around it, covering them with a similar purple aura. They struggled to move, desperately attempting to pull themselves from where they were now anchored. Not a moment after, a large purple orb of nova energy shot off from the same rooftop, arching perfectly for them, and exploding them all into nothingness. Everything was quiet again, and Elara’s Titan friend let his shield drop once more.
The two Guardians above them, a Warlock and a Hunter based on the supers they just used, jumped down to meet them. Elara had already started gesturing to the people they were protecting that it was safe to come out. Her Titan ally marched down the alley she had told him they were headed, being careful to make sure it was secure.
“Safe to assume you’re Warlock Ves?” the Hunter asked.
“Indeed,” Elara answered, “Thanks for the assist.”
She extended her hand out, to which they both took to shake in turn.
“Not a problem, we have more civs waiting at our rendezvous,” the Warlock answered.
Elara turned to her group, who stood around her as if waiting for instructions.
“Alright everyone, follow me,” Elara said to them, “We’re getting you out of here.”
She moved quickly to catch up to the Titan from earlier, the civilians following anxiously close behind. The Guardians that aided them took the rear, making sure that there was no one following them before moving out.
They all moved through the alleyway without any other resistance, although everyone remained on edge. The Titan stopped up ahead where the opening to the courtyard was, patiently waiting for everyone to catch up while his gaze strategically darted around to the areas where enemies could come from. Elara curved around the opening to find three small aircrafts, most likely belonging to these Guardians, packed with other city refugees. At least two other Guardians were standing guard over the bay doors leading to them with guns at the ready. If there were more, she couldn’t see them. Elara turned and gently, but swiftly, guided the group of civilians she helped to them. They all darted together for the ships, possibly their only shot at safety. She, along with the other Lightbearers in her group followed close behind.
“We got space over here,” one of the ship guards, another Titan, called out with a wave of a hand.
They moved to the side as the newcomers orderly filed in towards the front end of the ship. The Warlock that greeted Elara joined her in directing them where to sit as quickly as possible. The kids from earlier stayed close together, most holding back visible tears in their eyes, a few resting back as they breathed slight sighs of relief. The girl who held her younger sibling still held her as close as she could. Her eyes stayed still, locked ahead in shock and fear, as she gently brushed the little girl’s back to soothe her through her now frantic sobs. Pity weighed on Elara, and she moved up to and kneeled before them.
“It’s alright, my young friends,” she said to the group as she laid a reassuring hand on the young girl's shoulder, “As long as you stick together, you’ll make it through,” she continued.
The little girl calmed slightly, but was still visibly upset.
“And here, I have something for you, little one,” Elara said to the young girl as she reached into one of the pockets in her robes.
That caught her attention. She wiped her eyes and turned around completely to Elara now, seemingly forgetting everything that was happening in that moment thanks to her curiosity.
Elara searched by touch through her deep pockets until her hand brushed against a familiar piece of scrap metal. She effortlessly plucked it from inside and held it out to the young girl.
“A token for good luck. I got this from one of the Bray facilities on Mars.”
In between her gloved thumb and index finger rested a bright orange bottle cap. A bubbly lettered white and blue Bray logo was stamped atop. Elara liked to collect little trinkets from her travels for herself and the kids she crossed in the Last City. Some of them were likely to never step foot off of Earth, so it always felt nice to bring a piece of the galaxy back to them. That and it felt like she was reclaiming part of their collective history, while encouraging curiosity and knowledge.
The little girl’s eyes widened slightly as she cracked the faintest smile. She carefully took it from Elara and turned it over in her small hands, keeping it close to her chest as if to mimic her older sister. Elara looked to her sister as she patted the back of her head softly as a sign of a gentle departure. She mouthed the words “thank you” to Elara as she stood up again.
Elara nodded in recognition. “Thank you for being so brave,” she said softly to her, before turning away.
She moved towards where the other Guardians, including the Titan she arrived with, had begun to gather just beyond the ship loading doors. They seemed to be discussing strategy, so she figured it was important to at least listen in.
“We can get all these people out now, but who’s to say we won’t get shot down at the Wall,” the last Guardian of this group, another Warlock said in hushed urgency.
“I can stay behind,” the Nightstalker offered, “I can look for any stragglers before making my way out, it’s what I’m good at.”
“Are you sure, Arlo?” the Voidwalker asked.
“Yeah, it just doesn’t feel right leaving yet.”
“I can stay too,” Elara joined in, “We can both cover the group as you fly out.”
They all looked at her, the Nightstalker nodding in agreement to her idea.
“That’d be the safest, but are you sure? We might not be able to safely make a run back,” the other Titan added.
“Yeah I have my own ride. Besides, I’m going up there," she answered, pointing up at the burned Traveler, “I’m not taking any lightless people along.”
They all looked up at it as well, staring in silence and concern.
“Well the longer we wait, the riskier it gets. Let’s get these engines turning,” the Voidwalker said, before darting for the front of the ship they had previously gone in.
The others split amongst themselves, the Nightstalker taking large leaps to scale their way to the nearby rooftops. The Titan Elara paired with earlier moved closer to her.
“So the name’s Ves?” he questioned her.
Elara smiled under her helm.
“Partially. First name is Elara,” she answered, “I never caught your’s?”
“Name’s Sciath.”
“Well I’m glad our paths crossed.”
Elara extended her palm outwards to him for a friendly parting gesture, which he took with one firm clasp.
“Same here,” he responded.
They both let go, to which Elara turned to scale the buildings to get into position. Before she took a step, she turned back to him one last time.
“Oh and look after those kids for me, will you?” she said to him as he also turned for the ships.
He looked back and nodded to her. “Wouldn’t dream of anything else. Just look after yourself and your partner, alright?”
Elara nodded back, and they both finally split from one another to continue to their predestined positions. The ships’ engines whirled to life as she effortlessly rose up to the edge of the rooftop the Nightstalker was waiting at.
“Here, if you need it,” they said, once she crouched on the stone beside them.
She turned to find them handing her a long scout rifle as they propped a sniper rifle against the lip of the edge. She took it without complaint, thanking them softly. She watched as the ships began to slowly ascend in front of them, the draft from their jets buffeting them both slightly. The ships hovered for a moment in front of them, before the Nightstalker gave a signal to say that they were clear. They both took to the skies, one after the other. Elara moved into the rifle’s sight to watch as they moved East. They keep low, while staying a good distance away from the smoldering Tower ruins. A few small aircrafts seemed to notice them moving out, but the pair was quick to target the weapons installed underneath. The aerial City fighters made quick work of them after that. The fleeing makeshift transports sped up as they reached, and flew over, the outer walls. Elara smiled, and rested the gun down in relief, as they rocketed off out of sight beyond.

1) Had a dance class (I can't remember) with my current classmates. The teacher was in the midst of going through some steps but they kept bombarding the teacher with theoretical questions. I was so angry that I screamed at them for having zero situational awareness and for not thinking thoroughly before asking the teacher. After that I had a black face throughout the lesson. Later I went home together with my close friend (from pri sch or jc I can't remember) and I kept trying to justify my behaviour. Saw a few things along the way - a few ex-classmates, basketball court, school bookshop, street soccer court, the park near my house with a vending machine.
2) In a classroom again. The teacher separated us into 4 groups and there was a scoreboard. It was a messy situation. Lots of tables moving about and random gaps here and there. After that my group had a chance to claim points another group and they chose the group with the least amount of points. I had no choice but to agree. We ended up still in 3rd place. Stupid ttm.
3) In a class again but this time we were overseas, in some hotel lounge. I don't know what and who we were waiting for but everyone was restless and so the teacher gave out homework.
4) Uncle **** brought us out to this shop to buy confectionery. Weirdly enough the piece of food I bought came in a plastic bag, a container for dipping sauce and another smaller container that contained the same food (I can't recall what exactly it is). I also saw cake rolls with strawberry on the top. Ran into my secondary school classmate ****** on the way back. He gave me this panda folder and fixed an online date. I was so happy. My relatives wanted to try the piece of food I bought and ended up taking the plastic bag portion.
*I slept more than the usual. Not sure if it was the red wine yesterday.
*I actually had a crush on ***** back then. And I am currently single.
*Merry Xmas everyone.

The Portland Timbers are an American professional football club based in Portland, Oregon. They compete as a member club of the Western Conference in Major League Soccer (MLS). The Timbers play their home games at Providence Park and began as an expansion team in the MLS in 2011. The Portland Timbers face Los Angeles FC in the MLS at Providence Park on Wednesday night. The Portland Timbers, led by forward Felipe Mora, face LAFC in Providence Park in Portland, Oregon, on Wednesday, June 21 at 7: 21pm (21 / 21) in a regular season MLS game. On Wednesday night, two teams met in the middle of the Western Conference playoffs as the Portland Timbers prepared to host LAFC. Los Angeles FC is on a three-game winning streak when they travel to the Portland Timbers on Wednesday. Before the game starts, you can follow Portland Timbers v Los Angeles FC live, the results and the table, minute by minute updates, live scores and match stats. Portland and Los Angeles will try to grab a playoff spot when they lock horns in midweek. The last game of the Portland Timbers against FC Dallas in Major League Soccer ended 1-0 and the Portland Timbers won the game. We have videos, highlights, goals and news about the Portland Timbers games in one of the most popular football leagues. Jeremy Ebobisse scored in the 84th minute to lead the Portland Timbers to a 1-0 victory over FC Dallas at Providence Park on Saturday night in front of the first crowd of the season. It happened on a night when the Timbers allowed a full crowd for the first time since last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In the 2014 MLS season, the Timbers did not repeat the success of the preseason. LAFC seemed to deserve to win everything, but their opponents, the Portland Timbers, scored a dramatic late victory when they beat LAFC 2-1 at Providence Park on Wednesday. At the end of the first half's six-minute break, the Timbers conceded a penalty when striker Jeremy Ebobisse headed the ball in front of Austin FC's goal. It looked like LAFC would split the points, or at least move on, until Portland substitute Felipe Mora scored in the 93rd minute to win the game for the Timbers and end LAFC's three-game winning streak in an instant. After Zan Kolmanic, Tomas Pochettino and Timbers defender Bill Tuiloma received yellow cards, FC Austin dominated the first half on the field and on the scoreboard. But it was Timbers who got one back when substitute Sebastian Blanco put a speculative cross-pass from Mora into the box and Mora headed it towards the net to win the game. Ebobisse has overcome his own injury problems this season, scoring the last three Timbers goals. Midfielder Cristhian Paredes (hamstring), who last played in the second week of April, has been upgraded to questionable. According to Statsbomb the Timbers have scored the same or lesser anticipated goals (xG) than their opponents in nine of their last 10 games and have a decent 4-5-1 record (W-L-D) during this period. The 11 players Josh Wolff has called into the starting lineup tonight have scored a combined six of Austin's goals this season, led by forward Cecilio Dominguez with three. The Timbers go into the final game with 10 points from their first 11 games of the season, leaving them just three points away from a playoff spot in the Western Conference. The Timbers go into their third game after last weekend's home loss to Minnesota United. In October 2014, Merritt Paulson announced the creation of Portland Timbers 2 (T2). T2 started in the 2015 USL Pro Season with Merlo Field as the stadium for their home games. The club was founded in 2009 after the city of Portland won an expansion spot in Major League Soccer. The club is owned by Peregrine Sports which acquired the USL Pro Team under the majority control of Merritt Paulson and Co. in 2007 and founded the Portland Thorns Women's Team in 2012. The FBREF comprises what we believe is the most complete data source for women's football on the Internet. Still, manager Bob Bradley rotated his squad, as he did last season when LAFC had a midweek game between a weekend game. Because of the way they have played this season, that number has risen to 35. LAFC's three-game winning streak coincided with its first three 90-minute shifts in a row. He scored a league-record 34 goals in 2019 and will be a top scorer in 2021.
