Hrk aight I’ve sat on this for long enough. Guess I’ll try to be brave enough to post these.. very first drawings of Glaceon!Zane and Soileon!Cole I ever drew :´´3  I think? I do not condone the first drawings of Kai, Jay, Nya, Lloyd and Garm, I won’t show them bc I cringe so hard when I see them. These two are at least decent! I just, don’t like how I used to draw the hoods :(((

While we wait for the second part of the Zane sketches, have this height guide I made myself to see how tall the main Serpentine would be compared to the ninja.

Cole is the tallest in s1 and I knew how tall the others are compared to him so I didn't bother drawing them. As fully grown adults Cole would be generously taller than Scales, Nya would be slightly shorter than Cole, Kai would be ab Scales' size, and Zane and Jay shorter. Idk how tall Lloyd will be as a grown-up tbh... I feel like he might remain p short, but would he be taller or shorter than Jay (who's ab 165cm)?

A few miscellaneous sketches:

Kai and Nya as kids in their parents' memorial. There was never a burial because their bodies were never found but judging by the destruction and uh, let’s say blood where they disappeared strongly suggests they were killed and taken by a powerful wild beast. In this memorial Kai and Nya's uncle (who would be taking care of them for a couple of years) gave them their parents' evolutionary stones that then evolved them into Vaporeon and Flareon (he didn't know the stones would do that since they had already evolved Maya and Ray). Kai still wears his stone as a necklace, and Nya has hers as an ear piercing.

Some concept sketches of Once Bitten, Twice Shy, and how jolteon!Jay would look with snake features. At least he would have a tail once more! :D

I started reading Naruto in hopes to learn from it, how the artist draws dynamic poses and such, but this ended up being the only pose I referenced from it bc I get sucked into the story of a comic too easily and forgot I was supposed to study the poses and stuff. So ye Cole in a cool Naruto pose. I probably messed up the legs.

Young Morro right after the Golden Weapons rejected him. I believe this scene was in the show too.

I found these first character sheets I did of the ninja! I had a Nya too but she wasn’t in the same place with these, so idk where she is :(

I haven’t posted these before because I was ashamed of all the bad anatomy and whatnot... but now I look at these and think they are actually pretty good! So I thought you might like these old relics, some of the first concept and character art for Pokéninjago :D

Sorry the “watermarks” look pretty messy. I just wrote my logo or whatever on pieces of scrap paper and scattered them around arfhjf... I forgot to put them on Lloyd’s sheets tho.. Do NoT SteAL!! >>8((

Eyy, it’s lil’ Lloyd!

Sometimes, when I’ve been thinking about the newer seasons and especially my own seasons where Lloyd is all grown up ‘n all... And I come and see this comic, my heart says: “Gaaaaah he’s so smol and cute..! Oh little one.. Oh little one..!! If only I could protect you from all what’s coming..!!!” And then I cry internally and dwell in bittersweet guilt and malicious pleasure. ... I am a monster and I know it.

Ghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I just realized I’ve forgotten to color in Zanes paws fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff.....!! That’s most likely the case in every page, even though his paws should be the same color as the diamond patches on his tail and on those, uh, flappers(?) on his head.

Ha, never mind, I sometimes added my own lines here and there. But hey, otherwise I’d be grateful if you pointed out my typos/grammar errors in the comics so I can correct them (if you point out my errors in my own texts outside of comics i’ll just be very sad and ashamed so plz don’t do that). I guess if the comic has been lying around for a month I might be too lazy to fix it but the faster I get the feedback the more likely it is for me to correct the stuff.

7B radical for Cole?

I thought the flat colors felt odd somehow, but adding shades felt like cheating, so I added some weird distortion effect to make it more interesting. At least.. I think it’s better that way..? Anyhow, this was really fun to draw! Thank youAnon for requesting my favorite ninja! ^^

I had one other ask in my box but I couldn’t find it and I thought I had lost it but I found it! So, I’m sorry for the other Anon, I’ll do your ask next when I get time again, I promise!

I won’t take more requests for now. This was awesome and relaxing, but now I have less school stuff to do and more energy to put into my comics and that’s what I’m going to do! I’m also going to stream my coloring when I get that far >=3

My first published PNGo! comic! I-I-I’m so proud but also nervous as sh- uh, shiba..? I hope you liked this!

It’s just like to Wu to make his students to train under cover of a game. Well, Jay will have fun, Cole is on the edge of a nervous breakdown. `=D

I want to point out, that not all of my comics will be in colors. For example Rise of Snakes will be black and white with some “manga tones” or “rasters” or however you call them. I’m a slow drawer and coloring takes awfully long time, not to mention that thinking about functional color cheme causes me head ache. Like, it’s difficult enough to make an illustration’s colors to co-operate, but a whole comic page? Mmmmh, let’s say I need to watch a few tutorials first. This comic I wanted to color bc I wanted to test how it would look like if I used the “colored pencil” brush in Cilp Studio. I kinda like it. It’s rough but not too messy. I’ll maybe be experimenting with colors, coloring technigues and -tools in the future, but there will probably be colorless, rough, sketchy and only-line-art -comics, too.

Edit: Ok, so, apparently this theme won’t show cut’s on the blog. Great. Fantastic. And I love to write a lot. *sigh* Well, I’m sorry but you peeps will be the ones to suffer, since I’m totally gonna fill your dash boards up with text. I’m sorry, I really am... ,>.< But here we go:

This kind of training is surprisingly effective for both of them: Cole, who is more experienced in battling and who has already been trained, must not only stay on the wall as Jay tries to push him down, but also make sure that the younger boy won’t fall (plus he needs to pretend he’s trying to push Jay down, so that he wouldn’t be dissappointed). As for Jay, he is totally unexperienced and this is a good basic exercise in learning to stay in balance. Then again, he doesn’t have a tail and Cole does, so it wouldn’t be a fair battle anyway. And... There’s the thing that the wall is not only high, but outside it there’s just narrow, steep rock edge and... Juuuust a bit long fall. Yeah, motivates Cole to try his best. On Jay it doesn’t have any effect. Well, maybe it makes him a bit more excited.

Why Jay gets so nervous when Cole asks him if he used to live in Ninjago City? Well, you can read it from his back story page, but I’ll tell it breafly here. Jay has bad experiences of telling his true backgrounds. He’s ashamed of being a poor boy from a junk yard and he rather tells only that he used to go to school in Ninjago City, which is true. Later he will trust Cole enough to tell about his home and parents, but not yet that they just met.

And why does Wu writes that Cole’s past has made him frustrated and erratic? Well, we know that his father wanted him to become a dancer against his own will, but he was also bullied when he was a kid. More on his back story page.
