Aang and Sokka both have ADHD. After some (read: roughly 15 seconds of) thought I think Aang has either combination or hyperactive type and Sokka has either combination or inattentive type. As you can see, I’ve really come to solid conclusions.

The above statements are true and I will die on that hill.

Despite first identifying with Sokka and Aang as an 8-year-old, Zuko will always be the best boy.

I just realised a thing. Pertaining to Zuko and Sokka both having ADHD and dealing with it in different ways… Zuko doesn’t ever make plans because making plans risks someone disturbing it and Sokka makes a million plans because if he’s prepared for every single outcome and potential setback then no one can disturb his plan.

AND ANOTHER THING

Zukka is the cutest thing because while they’re both the kind of person to completely neglect their own care tasks - sokka because he gets absorbed in a project, or just straight up forgets. Zuko because he works too hard and thinks of others before himself - they’re ALSO the kinds of partners who love doing little care tasks for their beloveds.

They bring each other food when either forgets to eat. Zuko makes sure Sokka gets pain relief for his knee when it’s acting up. Sokka for Zuko’s chest scar. They remind each other to go to bed at a decent hour. Sokka is unabashed and unreserved with his affection in all forms and Zuko is so quietly supportive and consistent in his.

Zuko loves to gift give and keeps finding little things to give Sokka that make his life easier: little planners that are small enough for Sokka to carry around, tea for pain relief, Sokka’s favourite pillows to sit on when he’s working so he isn’t hyperfocused on being uncomfortable and constantly shifting his weight, carved fidget toys for him to play with while he works, getting Sokka’s favourite foods from the SWT bc when sokka forgets to eat he it makes his tummy feel weird and he gets grumpy and only wants to eat a handful of specific things.

Sokka is a physical touch person and knows when Zuko needs his hands held because that will give them a break from being cramped around a pen for hours on end, a kiss on his temple to remind him to relax his frowny working face or for Sokka to pull his hair loose and run his fingers through it because how else will Zuko actually stop working for just 10 minutes. Sokka also overtook Zuko in height when they turned 18 and he’d never tell anyone but part of the reason he trains so hard is to stay strong enough to carry Zuko to bed when he falls asleep on his desk.

Both are prone to all these tiny little acts of care for each other that cover the gaps when they forget/can’t care for themselves and it’s fkn precious.
