I think your novel is going to be so cool! I’m writing a story with a similar concept in that it combines solarpunk and fantasy. I hope you have good luck with the rest of your book! 💚
Gahhh never even saw this until now! If you have a story like that then I am insta-following you. The world needs stories that inspire it to an optimistic, inclusive, sustainable yet fantastic future! Keep me up to date on it!

My Solarpunk Book: Update
- It’s in rough draft, 30,000 words so far
- It’s extremely important that you follow these instagrams: @thecarboncoast @photosynth.media and @photosynth.music so that when I apply for a publisher of the book, they see how big the following is. Tumblr doesn’t show that, so I need to focus more on connecting with you all over on Insta, Twitter, etc!
- I have found a co-contributor. An astrophysicist who will make sure the science and physics going on are as accurate as possible (because things are VERY different on planet Earth in The Carbon Coast story)
- Still seeking other contributors and potential publishers, of course

I’m making a Wiki for my Solarpunk/Lunarpunk universe
I’ve begun putting together a Wiki database of all of my Carbon Coast world-building elements, such as characters, settings, important events, etc. This will include spoilers and things that characters might not even know about, as it’s meant to be a complete knowledge database for anything related to my “universe”
I want to note, though, that my “universe” is all contained on Planet Earth and is set entirely on kind-of-near-future versions of modern day, real-world locations. So when I say “The Carbon Coast Universe” I mean “Solarpunk planet Earth in the near future.” The only real differences are the magic realism elements that we probably wouldn’t see to that degree in the near future, but are still kept to a fairly plausible degree on the suspension of disbelief scale.
What I’m saying is that, I’m doing what any author would love to do: build their own universe for fans to indulge in, but not in a way that takes away from the real, serious need for Solarpunk as a movement and as a story which can help imagine a real implementation of it without too much unrealistic daydreaming to get in the way and make people think it’s an impossible future that’s just a masturbatory fantasy.
Because it’s not. Go save the world. Authors like me are just trying to inspire you to do it with sparkly, dazzly fiction that excites you, but don’t wait for the book to go make Solarpunk future a real one!
p.s. So if you don’t want spoilers, don’t go looking for it just yet. Just know it’ll be there when you’re ready to learn more :)

Novel update: The finer details of what will happen in Act 2b and Act 3 came to me yesterday, after months of uncertainty, so now I'm not so "blocked" on writing and development. Also, now I can finish my little storyboard of concept art inspiration that keeps my vision of parts of the story as I write it.
