This bad boy was started on the third of November, and finished on the seventh. In total, there are thirty panels (all of which were drawn separately).
A good chunk of N's dialogue near the end came to me after I did some improv to figure out what he should say. I have since dubbed it "N's Failure Monologue."
I made shit for a hypothetical Solver Uzi cover of Perception Check because it's funny (based on this video my babe Jack* got me because it's funnier to me and also it's short DON'T ASK)
.
.
.
So you notice that one of the Disassembly Drones is a little shorter- (Solver talking to itself ig)
I cast: Vicious Mockery nat 20; let's go ("SCRIPT: THOUGHT_PROCESS - 100%" Solver knows what VILE ACTS to pull by this point)
You're a short ass muthafucka and nobody likes you!
(sick flute here)
SHORT 🫵
Everybody says "look how fuckin' short that guy is" (Solver Uzi manipulates random drone corpses here)
And that stops you from forming meaningful relationships! (Solver Uzi manipulates V like a puppet while she's just done with everything ((i strongly believe in V Survives also it's funnier), she herself also gets up close and personal to N because not only has N lost V he's also lost Uzi)
When you were born, everybody thought you were just a head but then James Elliot said "WAIT" (i like to think Solver Uzi just goes fucks with N's memories just to get this bit to happen lol)
"this stupid muthafuckin tiny short ass baby got a tiny little itty bitty body and i HATE IT"
(N is thrown from the highest window available for the crows to eat, James also flips him off after that)
This is where the thing ends i had way too much fun envisioning this shit omg
Started on the sixth of January and planned to be finished on the fourteenth, but landed up not doing that. Somewhere on the sixteenth, I basically said "haha whoops" and pumped out twenty panels. According to Procreate, it took 15 hours and 37 minutes to finish Panels 1-10; 27 hours and 15 minutes on Panels 11-20; and 34 hours and 8 minutes for Panels 21-30.
In total, I have no idea. I just know it took some serious time.
Unlike with She's Gone, I wrote a script. Well, all I wrote was dialogue and some minor actions for Panels 5-23, though lines were changed "in post." Everything else was by the seat of my pants. However, I can say for sure that I was planning on ending it with N being hopeful, but all I had room for was him crying. He cannot catch a break.
(also to those who suspected uzi was still in there, guess you were right all along.)
I definitely had a lot more fun behind the scenes with Never Be Alone than I did with She's Gone. So here's the sillies, and some notes.
This is a guide video I made in cause I either forgot how I was rendering it, or I want to make a comic using this style again. I used Panel 3 because it was the original first panel. There is no audio, so you don't need to worry about unmuting it.
I did this with the flats for Panel 2 because it reminded me of a drawing featured in one of my earliest MD posts. This quote has had me in a choke-hold ever since I made it (by the way, I named that drawing I mentioned: "Heyyy Biiitch!").
I wanted to make sure a few panels in this comic looked right, so I drew them with my finger (because I wanted to and I felt like it). N's face looks so derpy here and that's by choice.
I made this because SolverUzi looked like she was accusingly pointing at N. The Solver does seem petty to me, so I feel like It'd do this. Fun fact, that's why It's wearing Uzi's face and why It didn't heal her hand: just so It can rub salt in N's wounds and call him "big brother" like Cyn does to SERIOUSLY fuck with him.
Pre-Gaussian Blur on the dialogue! This is another panel I drew with my finger to ensure it'd look right later on. The "BASICALLY HIGH AS BALLS" note was added because of his face. It's actually sad in context of the comic, seeing as this is one of the few moments where N genuinely smiles.
TESSA FOR THE WIN, BABY! I made this because I said "Whoa, suddenly Tessa!" at one point while working on this panel. As for the "Chekhov's stabby stick" part... I mean, come on. There was a closeup of that blade for approximately two seconds. If that's not a surprise tool they can use for later, I don't know what is.
There is no reason for this one beyond "I thought it was funny." It just exists and there's nothing we can do about it.
Imagine if I actually went with either this quote or "Well, that could've been a whole lot worse." I had to pick between them for a sillier take on this panel, but imagine if Tessa ACTUALLY said "Well, shit" after all that?
Hi, guys!!! Here's my first post of 2024, being this cool drawing I did of my take on Eldritch Uzi (that I either call SolverUzi or the funny bone centipede)!
It took about seven hours and thirty-three minutes to completely finish (according to Procreate, anyway), and is simply titled… well, "SolverUzi."
THESE COOL FOLKS DUBBED SHE'S GONE AND HOLY CRAP N'S VA WENT HARD. Also, Tessa's VA absolutely NAILED the delivery exactly like how I was picturing in my head, and THE FACT THEY NAILED HER VOICE ALTOGETHER???? GOD I LOVE COMIC DUBS
I love your range. One moment you can be posting the most soul-crushing angst, and the next... tiny hangry N demanding more food. Bless you and your very fun very expressive art.
Sidenote, was Bea kinda top heavy as a kid? Since her arms are so big? And did N donate those to her?
What can I say? I know what I like, and I do it well! I honestly think that’s funny, too, because I unveiled the Tiny N AU on the exact same day I posted She’s Gone and unveiled the SolverUzi AU for the first time.
Anyway, to answer your question:
Beanie is a very custom model designed by Uzi one sleepless night long before she passed away. N struggled to have her new body built MOSTLY the way her mother wanted (he didn’t think it was very safe for a toddler to have a stinger or access to lethal weapons), which included the hybrid drone symbol on her core.
That being said, Beanie does have long arms and a big head. She is very clumsy when she first starts walking, because her balance is WAY OFF but it eventually stops phasing her. Boy, she can run FAST.
N probably didn’t donate them to her? I assume whoever doesn’t get paid enough for building custom toddler drone bodies fussed about with them until the hammerspaces worked. Don’t question it, it’s Cartoon Logic.
(Yes, Uzi’s the one who drew up that blueprint. N nearly cried when he found it, seeing as he never knew she made it until then.)
Some way or another (probably doll), Uzi’s core is restored (I mean the solver can put bugs back together - what’s a drone core to it?). It boots her up in an Eldritch J like form - including the holograms
N sees Uzi again.
The SolverUzi AU but make it Ghost Drone, call that Ghost Drone Resurrection AU-
But it's honest relief that green... Thing (honestly makes me think of a Nosk from Hollow Knight) is dead and gone, it's one less thing for N to worry about Beanie meeting
i may or may not be joking at one point. who knows if i'm being serious or not lol
In regards to that reblog on that one SolverUzi au comic, hey, i think what happens to Tessa in 7 makes SolverUzi even more of an AU (i hope you get what i mean)
Even more so in terms to Never Be Alone, have you read that one? I was drastically wrong there.
But it's an AU. Everything's fine and nothing happened, everyone is okay (if we exclude N and how he's doing emotionally). Nothing is wrong, it's all perfectly okay.
