Hi friend, thanks for this totally not difficult-at-all question. Lol.

Okay, as you know, I can’t ever answer anything succinctly. I am going to take this opportunity to plug this nonfiction book I’m listening to on audio, titled “From Hollywood with Love: The Rise and Fall (and Rise Again) of the Romantic Comedy.” –highly recommend it to anyone who is a rom-com nerd like me.

The book asks the following question to determine what can be considered a romantic comedy:

“If you removed the love story from this movie, would you still have a movie? If the answer is no, it’s a romantic comedy.”

With this question in mind, here is my list (not in ranking order, I’m just listing them as they come to me.) Also, yes, this means I can’t list the 2000 gem that was Miss Congeniality. That is my #1 favorite Sandy movie. Not to worry, though, Sandy B. still makes the list.

Here we go:

Serendipity: The trope. NYC as a character. The cast—John Cusack, Kate Beckinsale, John Corbett, Molly Shannon, and the illustrious Eugene Levy who stole all of his scenes as the Bloomingdale’s employee making John Cusack’s life miserable lol. It’s just so good. It’s peak rom-com in the early 2000s. Those of you old enough to appreciate that era of rom-coms will know exactly what I’m talking about. It’s one of my all-time favs. 👏🏽

Two Weeks Notice: Sandy B. Listen, I had to work hard not to make every movie on this list a Sandra Bullock-starring film. I feel like choosing your favorite rom-com actress from the 90s/2000s is a little like choosing your boyband team from that same era. I am Team Sandy B. all the way. (No disrespect to Julia and Meg, and so many others who also made movies I loved.) I love Sandra in this movie opposite Hugh Grant, she’s so smart and so funny. The premise of this movie is actually one I still hold out hope for seeing written as firstprince fanfic someday. Sandra is an environmental lawyer who goes to work for a billionaire’s company in order to save a community center that is very dear to her. There are aspects of that plot that I think Alex and Henry would fit into, and aspects to tweak because I don't think Henry would be quite as arrogant or bumbling as Hugh's character. I could talk about this at length lol.

Definitely, Maybe: Again – the cast. Ryan Reynolds. Isla Fisher. Rachel Weisz. Abigail Breslin. The trope/premise?? So good. I love how it jumps through time and shows us how second chances present themselves in our lives. It’s just a really lovely film and probably my favorite Ryan as a rom-com leading man, though The Proposal is a close second.

Hitch: This movie had me in tears, both from laughter and emotions. Also, the scene where Will Smith is teaching Kevin James’ character how to dance. Iconic. "I'm making the pizza!" “Don’t need no pizza, they got food there!” 😂

My Big Fat Greek Wedding: Windex. Nia Vardalos and John Corbett, watching their characters meet and fall in love. Just so damn dreamy. 😍 I also really love how this movie portrays that when you choose a partner, you’re also choosing their family. 💖

Set It Up: I know this is six lol. But I had to add in a movie post-2010. I love this one so much. I know a movie has become part of my personality when I start adopting the dialogue into my everyday vernacular lol. “I overdicked” is said A LOT. 😂 Also GLEN POWELL. 😏

I have a quick question, how does Rauru dry off all that hair after??? Does Sonia just rewind time to before his hair was wet??? You have burdened me with questions and I must share them with the world

I have thought about ways Rauru can dry off of all that hair! The time suggestion is a good one, so here are doodles of Sonia helping out with her time powers!

Any dessert...tricky tricky because I have a sweet tooth--just ask my dentist. 😂

Normally, I would give a list because choices are hard for me. Yet, my brain supplied a single dessert with startling clarity, considering who I am (know thyself, etc.)— that’s surprising lol.

If I could have any dessert, it would be Churros. For anyone not familiar with churros, they are long pieces of fried dough topped with cinnamon and sugar and fried to perfection. So the exterior is crispy, but the inside is fluffy and tender. 😍 Sometimes they can come with filling—strawberry, or chocolate. I prefer the plain ones so you can then dip them into sauces: chocolate, caramel, etc.

I can't find them as readily as I can ice cream or donuts (another beloved dessert). There used to be a small business panadería (bakery) near me that would make them fresh every morning, and you had to get there early if you wanted some. I built them into my Saturday morning routine, but sadly, they closed during the pandemic and never reopened. It's been a little harder to find them freshly made, but whenever I see them on a menu, I order them!

No, Erika was a pretty good cyclist. As for me...well, when I was learning how to ride a bike I took a really nasty fall and scuffed my hands and arms pretty badly. It was the incident that made my parents really protective over my hands, and it honestly did make me really scared of ever getting on a bike again.

Oh, that's quite the awful outcome for something that's expected to happen when you're only learning to ride a bike.

Right? it feels silly to admit to, but it's the truth.

Maybe I can try learning again once we have some free-time? Though I dunno if I'm ready to try getting on a bike again.

Firstly, I love the nickname you got for Rauru. I can truly imagine Sonia calling him Rwandan when they are not in public but in private with each other. Secondly, do you got a headcanon of what their child would look like or even how Sonia was copping with it to have a child from a Zonia?

Thank you! The nickname Ran Ran was made during the time TOTK wasn't released and no one knew of Rauru's name, so I came up with it. For the second part of your question, I'm going to need some clarification as I'm a little confused on what you are asking. For the first part, I actually made a fan child between the two!

Here is my Rauru/Sonia fan child, Solis!

For Solis' design, I did my best to combine both Zonai and Hyrulean features. Solis would have ears that are longer than Sonia's but smaller than Rauru's. Her facial features do lean a bit more on the Zonai aspect, especially from the forehead to nose, but from there it's similar to a Hyrulean. Her skin is fur-like/fuzzy with scales. The rest of her body is proportioned normally unlike Zonai, with her long neck being an outlier.

Gender: Female

Age: 26 (years after Imprisoning War)

Height: 6'8"

Species: Zonai/Hyrulean (Hylian) Mix

Personality: Kind, Inquisitive, Stubborn, Playful, Adventurous

General Info: Solis was a child of King Rauru and Queen Sonia. As a child, she was free spirited, with her sense of adventure and curiosity sometimes getting her into trouble. She would often sneak off from her studies to watch her father hunt or to pick berries with her mother, but always made up for time lost. Her family would teach her to love and care for everything around her and she was a happy princess in their care.

Sadly, that happiness would be taken away after tragedy befell her home. After the death of her mother, father, and aunt, young Solis became mute, and a shut in. Due to her shift in personality and being too young to take the throne at that time, others in her family would take a temporary charge in her stead. It would take many years after the Imprisoning War for her to open up again, slowly coming out of her bubble and enjoying the world around her.

As a fully grown adult, she hopes she can make her family proud and be a strong, kind ruler just like her parents.

Notes:

-She was around 5-7 years old when both of her parents and aunt passed -She also witnessed Zelda's transformation into a dragon (hence experienced the loss of 4 family members) -She has no secret stone of her own -She is proficient with swords and bows -She was either under the care of Sonia's relatives or by the three dragon sisters (Farosh, Dinraal and Naydra) depending on the AU -While having both time and light powers, she was closer attuned to her light magic -When she was off her royal duties or outside of the castle, she was a bit of a goofball and willing to try out new things that her court may deem as reckless (Ex: trying to find ways to fly up and get on/near the four dragons)
