somewhere between september and november i became very obsessed with crime and punishment by fyodor dostoyevsky and his works themselves, it was the first book of its kind that really drew me in and it has significantly changed my view of society, so it was during that time that i drew all these doodles

Sonia and Svidrigailov lodging at the same house in St. Petersberg stands out as such a key detail to me, since they epitomize opposing ends of Raskolnikov's dilemma - between redemption and corruption, sacrifice and self-serving depravity. Two choices. Two different versions of himself - alter egos, in effect - which reside in the same body (the house).

ugly ass Ratskolnikov and cute little Mousenya🐀🐁 I made the sketches some months ago and I finally painted them😪 I didn't know what to do with the background as always haha I know there is a larger difference within the size of a rat and a mouse but it didn't look good if I shrink Sonya too much.
