Sometimes a family is the corporeal embodiment of "Por que no los dos", her Trekkie mom, a slug with blue hair and pronouns, three weirdos from Normie Camp, Fantasy Phyllis Diller, a woman fueled solely by autism, coffee, and spite, a reformed anti-vaxxer, a woodcarver with a full-on dwarf beard, a baby god, another baby god with impulse control problems, the literal earth we walk on, the wannabe mom friend, [JFK voice] Gay Dads, a grade-skipping theater kid, the "Wouldn't you like to know weatherboy" reporter, an even meaner lesbian, Fred and George Weasley but with green hair, the poor little meow meow malewife ADHD faildad, a sentient wood carving possessed by the soul of his pet bird, a guy with lava lamp hair, a Creacher, a bard with green hair and pronouns, the three chaos band geek teenagers they sort-of adopted, the hair model for Maybelline, Steve, a kid with a really unfortunate last name, three kids who got in trouble for liking school too much, an assortment of sapient wooden animals, and the, uh, bird tube worm… house… mucus… thing… yeah, he defies description.

we all know self sacrifice is a clawthorne family thing like we had hunter and his various shenanigans (especially the most recent episode), lilith’s offer to take eda’s place on the day of unity, gwendolyn sacrificing decades of her life and many family heirlooms to try to cure eda’s curse, etc. we don’t know too much about evelyn but caleb very likely sacrificed himself by being killed by phillip when phillip’s original target was his wife. if you’re talking about in-laws raine (who’s probably going to be married into the clawthorne family by the end of the show lets be real) got themselves captured in eda’s place as a rebel and tried to sacrifice themselves to take down darius and eberwolf. even phillip, who doesn’t even want to be an in-law of the clawthornes, has sacrificed hundreds of years and painfully extended his life with wild magic that he abhorrs, all to destroy witches, an altruistic goal, in his eyes, to save humanity. they didn’t have time to develop hooty too much but maybe he’ll show vibes of self sacrifice too in season 3 lol.

but the real mvps are the main trio of eda, king, and luz. eda let herself be captured by lilith to save luz in the s1 finale (and never stopped self sacrificing since maam please see a therapist). king let himself be captured by the collector to save luz in the s2 finale. so i assume luz is probably going to let herself be captured by someone to save eda and king in the series finale. maybe belos? it would be thematically appropriate given how eda parallels lilith, king parallels the collector, and luz REALLY parallels phillip. they won’t kill the main character of a disney tv y7 show and luz dying wouldn’t make sense for the overall themes of the story, but i assume she’ll Really Go Through It in the last episode.

(another thing - eda almost gets petrified in the s1 finale and luz almost gets petrified in the s2 finale. does that mean king is next? would petrification even hurt him as a titan?)

this behemoth of a comic is finally done - and just in time for zoros birthday huehue. initially i wanted to make a zolu introspective from an outsider POV and was like you know who would have really funny input on this … mihawk. and then it spiraled into seven pages of mishanks sitting and talking. i thought it would be funny if mishanks ended up doing self imposed couples therapy the day mihawk brought luffys bounty bc well. its kind of hilarious to think abt mihawk realizing shanks was onto something all those years ago after he meets zoro and luffy. like sure this new generation is batshit crazy but my god are they cooking. anyways. cheers. get some kids
