Felt like trying my hand at some more compleated walker designs!

First, Chandra - the second design I drew, and my favorite of the three. I imagine that she could have willingly been completed, or just resisted Norn’s authority through sheer gay rage or something.

Next, Sorin - this was the last of the three I drew, but gave me so much trouble that by sketch number three I just decided to color it without inking. I might give this another try later.

Finally, mtg’s father of the year, Oko - the first design I did and the smoothest process by far. I just think he’s neat.

I might do more of these, so if you have any questions or suggestions for planeswalkers to compleat/redesign, I would love to hear from y’all!

I think sorin would tell Nissa Chandra kissed a cop while she was on Innistrad just to fuck with them. Bc he hates literally everyone but especially (1) elf. He just deadpans then does that mocking little smile at Nissa and is like "Ah, Chandra. Rumor has it she was quite romantic with one of the Cathars. Must have just been missing you" and then sit back to watch the drama unfold like a millenia old bastard cat

i think the fact that Sorin was the first planeswalker Nissa, Nahiri, and Liliana ever met tells you a lot about why they are they way they are

Everyone who's like "(Plane) is RUINED FOREVER following the Phyrexian invasion and it's such a waste :(" remind me of Sorin and Nahiri in Shadows over Innistrad.

Nahiri woke up to find her plane was under attack by the Eldrazi and having a bad time of it, she immediately said "RUINED FOREVER" and decided to get revenge.

Likewise, Sorin saw Emrakul descending on his plane, how madness and mutation had taken so many people and even the very landscape, so he said "RUINED FOREVER" and fucked off to fight Nahiri.

In both cases people were fighting. People who could have used the support of the most powerful planeswalkers still alive. They're willing to declare ownership of an entire plane, but then when things get ugly, rather than trying to fix it, they just decide it's too scuffed up and write it off as a lost cause.

Commission of a bloomburrow-ified Sorin Markov for @baronvonchop!!!

Since a vampire bat would be the obvious choice (honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if we did see a vampire bat Sorin, or at least if someone else has drawn that), we went with something a bit more subversive, if still fitting: a white ermine (the weasel variety, not the moth)

From what I know of them, the elegant appearance of stoats belies their status as a fearsome predator to other small animals. The pale coat and beady eyes of this particular species felt like a good fit visually, too.
