In which you teach Jake the ways of the Metkayina.

Jake Sully and his children recently arrived at the reef where the Metkayina clan live, hoping for a place of safety as the sky people are after them. You weren’t a fan of this idea as the sky people would eventually find all of you, but your sister, Ronal, insisted on not only them staying, but also you having to teach Jake Sully the ways of the Metkayina clan. You didn’t want to say no to your sister, so you reluctantly started teaching Jake.

“I am your teacher now, follow me.” You bluntly state, Jake nodding and slowly walking with you and your sister towards the water.

“Tsurak. You must bond with them, connect with them.” You pause, “Patience is key, only the most advance achieve this, take your time.” You continue. “Have you achieved this yet?” He asks you. Tonowari laughs, Ronal glaring at her husband. “Oh, my apologies.” Jake awkwardly scratches the back of his neck, slightly bowing his head. You roll your eyes, “Good luck.” You mumble. Jake carefully swims towards the creature, getting on it and connecting his hair to it. “Good, now, your hands.” You say, pointing to the leather straps. He nods and you help him get the straps wrapped and tied around his hands, Jake blushes when your hands make contact with his hands, awkwardly coughing. “No worries, you’ll do great.” You pat his shoulder, a smirk on your face. Moments later, you’re smiling and laughing as he’s dragged around the reef by the creature. “Jake! Jake!” You yell, trying to keep in your laughter. “Patience!” You add. “I got it!” He huffs, trying his best to hold on to the tsurak. It repeatedly sways side to side, attempting to push Jake off. It ultimately fails as Jake finally bonds with it, slightly crouching on it and hovering above the water. “I did it!” He smiles, “Congratulations.” You grin. He can’t stop grinning, eventually getting off the creature and returning to the shore. “Good job, I’m proud of you.” You say, Tonowari and Ronal nodding. “You’ve had a long day, take some time and see your family.” You continue. Ronal and Tonowari walk towards their Marui, while you head towards yours. “Wait! (Y/N)!” You hear a voice call out, causing you to turn around. “Jake Sully, what now?” You groan, causing him to wince. “What are you doing?” He asks. “Getting some sleep, after you leave.” You shrug, pointing towards your Marui. “Oh.” His expression drops and he starts to turn around. You let out a long sigh, already starting to regret what you’re about to say, “Fine, I can teach you one last thing.” You huff. Jake tries to hide his smile, “This way.” You demand.

“What are we doing here?” He asks, glancing around the forest. The two of you are currently sitting down on some sand, located in a clearing of the forest, right in front of the water. “I’m going to teach you a little breathing technique.” You mumble. He hesitantly nods, watching as you carefully place your hand on his stomach. “Okay, I want you to breathe in.” You whisper. He takes a deep breath, “Now, hold it for as long as you can. Just, please, don’t die.” You joke. You watch Jake intensely before he quickly breathes out, gasping for air. “Not the best, we can work with it.” You laugh. “I almost died and you’re laughing?” He looks shocked, “Oh, stop it! I didn’t realize you were such a drama king.” You playfully hit his side and he pretends to cry. “Be serious now!” You try to contain your laughter, “Breathe in.” You say. Jake breathes in, “Good. Feel your breathing, stay calm. You’re safe.” You state, then starting to count. Eventually, Jake lets go of the breath, “You’re getting there, good job.” You grin, Jake smiling and nodding in response. “Okay, that’s enough for today:” You get up, digging your feet in the warm sand, Jake then getting up. “Thank you, you’re a truly great teacher.” He laughs, “Of course.” You grin.

That night, Jake couldn’t sleep, he was just so focused on you and how nervous you make him.
