Hi! I love your post on Legacies! I watched already the first three seasons of Originals (and I stopped on an episode with Alaric and the twins), the first season on TVD and I watched some clips. I don't if I should watch Legacies. Is it good and worth wacthing? But I'll finish watching Originals and TVD.
Hi, thank you!!
Firstly I highly recommend that you watch TVD and The Originals in their entirety before watching Legacies because I was pretty much where you are at right now 2 years ago and watching these two shows helped me immensely though I don’t know about the rest of the fandom and if they watched both shows. When I first watched Legacies, I had no clue who every character was except for Alaric because I only got up to season 4 of TVD and never seen an episode of The Originals, so it was safe to say that I was confused. When I watched the Mombie Dearest episode of Legacies, I knew that I had to backtrack and watch all of TVD first and The Originals.
Secondly, if you had asked me this question while they were still airing their second season..I would have said that I would absolutely recommend you watch Legacies but now... The writing of the show as of recently has been kinda spotty and I am not very happy with all choices that writers have been making in regards to the plot and the Malivore storyline but last night’s episode was definitely the better episode out of this season. The stakes were much higher and had me at the edge of my seat which hasn’t happened since TVD and The Originals. If you are somebody that loves watching a high-stakes show where you fear for your fav character’s life and each episode all lead up to something in the finale, then I will tell you that Legacies isn’t really that. It has a much lighter tone than the previous shows and characters that die always come back. However, last night’s episode was much darker than the tone of the show in its entirety and I absolutely loved that and in hopes that they keep going in that direction.. then yes. I recommend Legacies!
P.S. I’m sorry if my answer is all over the place. I had to stop myself multiple times from going on a tangent but I hope this answered your question!! Thank you for the ask!!
