I was inspired to do my own pinata assignments for some of my f/os after seeing @bugsband do so! I fell in love with VP as a little kid when I could only play the original demo version of it on the Xbox 360 arcade disc and it only grew when I finally got an actual copy of the game as a gift. A few years ago I bought my own xbox and got copies of both the original AND trouble in paradise for myself and while I def don’t play it as much as I want to, it’s still a favorite of mine 💛

Some of these are definitely based just on Vibes than anything else so some might not be as accurate lol but this was still fun. Under the cut because I typed too much-

This section I did first because they definitely seem the most accurate and understandable lol maybe kinda on the nose for some but that’s what makes it fun!

Present Mic (MHA) - Candary

Aizawa (MHA) - Crowla

Roman Torchwick (RWBY) - Pretztail

Hypnos (Hades) - Goobaa

Lysandre (Pokémon) - Roario

Kiryu (Yakuza) - Draganache

Present Mic and Aizawa are pretty self explanatory, especially if you compare the candary to how Mic looks in the flashbacks to when they were in High School lol. Aizawa probably wishes he was a kittyfloss but the crowla was calling his name. The crowla’s ability to distract Dastardos and save your piñatas from him temporarily feels fitting too. 

Roman being a pretztail is also self explanatory, the pretztail is well known for being sneaky and crafty and those are two things Roman does very well as a thief. 

Hypnos is a goobaa because. Sheep. Counting sheep. Yeah? Not to mention “the Goobaa is famous for its accommodating nature and dreams of world peace”.

Lysandre is literally lion themed. He has a lion. He is a lion. Thus, Roario. Not much more explanation needed.

Kiryu is the Dragon of Dojima. He is also a pain in the ass. Leaving it at that.

This section is a little less on the nose, but I still like the assignments anyways! Prismo was a toughie because I really wanted to assign him a pink pinata but I didn’t think many of them actually fit, except for maybe the pink flutterscotch.

Mordin Solus (Mass Effect) - Sweetle

Nihlus Kryik (Mass Effect) - Sour S’morepion

Prismo (Adventure Time) - Parrybo or Pink Flutterscotch

Mordin is a sweetle because they look similar 🥰 I also really wanted to include him since I was including Nihlus. Fun fact: I have personal beef with sweetles. The tutorial stuff drives me insane and I hate having to catch one. Same thing with the bispotti. Fuck those guys.

Nihlus obviously matches the sour s’morepion in terms of aesthetics, the hard plating of the scorpion and the deep red color, but Nihlus also kinda sucks (Which I say with as much love as I can physically give). These two belong together.

Prismo doesn’t actually really match the parrybo much but idk. There’s just something about that little dude that calls out to me. Pink Flutterscotch might be a better match because it’s pink and Prismo also makes me think of kisses. Anyways who said that-

I should note that Petula is specifically a familial ship, in case people don’t feel like looking at my carrd, and Langston is more of a little side/not serious ship for me (I have a human design for him that I think is super cute though) BUT. It was too funny to pass up, okay?

Langston is obvious for obvious reasons, yeah. But I put tigermisu instead of a kittyfloss for Petula because gdi that poor girl deserves some respect and by god is she going to get it!!! She’s not a kitten, she’s a big ass cat.

And I say Leafos is a syrupent as nicely as I can even though it kinda sounds like an insult. I prommy it isn’t I love her 💚 but she can be a little bit of a snake 💚 love u girl 💚

Anyways yeah!! Pinatas!!! You should ask me about my favorite piñatas.

VP Meta Knight thoughts under cut

- Meta Knight hates Nightmare and the demon beasts, but despite that, everyone still thinks he works for Nightmare. He hates it.

- Meta Knight has major memory problems. Mostly towards before his corruption. He can rememebr pieces of it, like working as a helper, enjoying pinatas and wanting to compete, working on the legendary garden, and being close friends with the owner. But at the same time, he also vaguely remembers struggling to keep up with the garden while they were away, and wanting to keep it as best he could to not disappoint and becoming desperate, which led him to Nightmare convincing him with special candy that could help, and then the god awful pain but nothing after.

- Meta Knight isnt stupid, and has pieced together what happened. Though because of his absence, the garden was destroyed and he fell for Nightmare’s tricks and thinks it’s fully his fault (though that was when Nightmare wasnt known as the grade a bitch).

- Being sour has many more downsides than pros. Pain is one of them, getting constant headaches when there’s a sick piñatas and sometimes the body just rejecting the sourness (for piñatas: it’s coughing up sour candy, for MK, it’s just black vomit). Since sours usually have a job of messing with gardeners, it’s extremely difficult to not follow it and Meta Knight has given up on not breaking piñatas. When he doesn’t, he feels sick and he feels like he has to or else something will happen or just bad pain, spaces out a lot and just genuinely becomes unresponsive, but when he does, he enjoys it since it’s just in a sours nature to do and enjoy awful things and it temporarily takes away physical pain.

- Meta Knignt knows he isn’t supposed to look like how he does now, but he also doesn’t rememebr what he used to look like.

- He enjoys messing with Dedede. One: being a bitch and being sour just makes it a lot more fun than it is, and also he knows Dedede loathes him now which just adds to it

- Dedede actually doesn’t hate Meta Knight. He’s more of just extremely frustrated and hurt that he got betrayed by him, since they were close. Though he also only knows the story from Bandana Dee’s side, who only saw MK leave the garden following Nightmare.

- Wings are from the sour transformation, kind of like how Dastardos’ scarves became more like snakes and move on their own, MK’s cape gained the ability to turn to wings. Though he can’t fly

- Meta Knight has mixed feelings towards Kirby. He knows what he’s doing and knows he’s just trying to help but Meta knows that what Kirbys doing is useless and he can’t be fixed. Doesn’t mean he doesn’t enjoy Kirby’s company tho

- He had Sabre before he became sour. Dedede heard about the Dessert Desert and wanted to see what piñatas were there, and took Meta Knight and Bandana with him. Bandana mostly enjoyed the view, while a s’morepion followed Meta Knight around. They couldn’t figure out how to make them a resident, until they asked around and eventually Magolor (who lived in the Dessert Desert’s village at the time), filled them in. They ended up getting Sabre to the garden and making them a resident, and Sabre always stuck with Meta Knight. Even after the corruption, since it could tell something was wrong with Meta and he was hurting, and wants to help him feel better. It doesn’t work, but it does help MK.
