This is the last set from volume 1 of the Book of Days. For formatting reasons about portrait and landscape shape images there are only three today and the dates are sometimes a little out from the linear order I would prefer. At the start of year things were going well financially for Liverpool Independent Art School. Our day long workshops were always sold out with a waiting list and we were loving the work. We had decided that this was going to be our year financially (😬😑🙄) This was our Urban Etching day that we was in its fourth or fifth run. We would go out drawing in the morning after setting out our objectives over a cuppa, return to studio for a review and generally the wonderful Arty Party would cater lunch for us followed by an afternoon of introducing the printing press and drypoint etching techniques. In terms of this sketchbook my plan this year had been to draw every day, and even before covid I never quite hit that so there are two drawings from that morning one filled an empty page. The first is Mosley Hill Station from the other side of the bridge and the second a cheeky coffee in the lovely little cafe there looking out to the street and drawing. I very much miss these days. The last was a visit to see @redroom95 the following day and time to draw one of her ships in bottles, which have always fascinated her. Cracking weekend then. First Episode 2 of BBC drama Bloodlands 🩸 just concluded, and it was shocking - a must see! Sundays at 9pm. Get cracking you guys... Earlier I went for my first bike ride since May 2019! Toxteth, Aigburth & Sefton Park delivered so good. Even connected with a lovely artist lady, a key part of the local community, who may just be a great person to know for the future. Finished off the day sitting in Sefton Park with one of my favourite beers, Purple Moose Brewery’s sublime Elderflower Ale. First time since a glorious twilight round a year ago at the wondrous links of Porthmadog, pre-Covid ⛳️ After a year of darkness and suffering, at last there’s much to feel optimistic about then. We have today identified Japanese Knotweed across this housing estate in South Liverpool. The Japanese Knotweed has come from the railway track that passed through this housing estate.
