Updated World Groups

Months ago (or almost a year ago?) I made a world group system for The Sims 4 that I only posted on Twitter. The point of this was to give me some limitations and gameplay rules to spice things up because it's just not realistic to make a few-hour trip to Sulani from Britechester while they are far from each other. Also, grouping worlds gives more space to work with. The original system was made before Growing Together. I added the three new neighborhoods and made some changes. First, I'm going to show the world groups, then I'll tell you the gameplay rules and mod suggestions for more immersion.

World Groups

Group 1: Willow Creek - Magnolia Promenade - Newcrest - San Myshuno. Willow Creek and Newcrest are suburbs of San Myshuno. Magnolia Promenade is a small shopping district between Willow Creek and Newcrest.

Group 2: Del Sol Valley - Tartosa - Chestnut Ridge - Strangerville - Oasis Springs. Del Sol Valley sits between the ocean and the desert. The far you go, the more sand you see. Tartosa made it here because it’s famous for its wine, and Chestnut Ridge came with wine making, so Chestnut’s Rider’s Den is connected to Tartosa’s Terra Amorosa.

Group 3: Brindleton Bay - Moonwood Mill - Glimmerbrook - Forgotten Hollows. Moonwood Mill, Glimmerbrook and Forgotten Hollows are the nest of the occult. They are all in the same woods next to Brindleton Bay’s Cavalier’s Cove. Closest destination world is Granite Falls.

Group 4: Windenburg - Britechester - Henford-on-Bagley. Britechester sits between two historical towns, Windenburg and Henford-on-Bagley.

Group 5: Evergreen Harbor - Copperdale - San Sequoia. San Sequoia’s Anchorpoint Wharf is connected to Evergreen’s Port Promise. The other end of the bridge goes to Copperdale..

Group 6 : Sulani - Tomarang - Mt. Komorebi. Sulani is close to Tomarang on ship, Mt. Komorebi is next to Tomarang in land. 

Destination Worlds: Granite Falls - Selvadorada 

Gameplay Rules

Rule 1: You can freely visit any lot inside your homegroup. 

Rule 2: If you are leaving your homegroup, you have to rent a house and stay at least 3 days (2 nights). 

Rule 3: Copperdale High is an elite school. You can attend active school only if you live in the San Sequoia group, or you can build a "high school dorm": a lot your teen can live on with other teens far away from family, and you can only visit home on weekends.

Rule 4: If you are a spellcaster living outside of the Glimmerbrook’s area, you can freely visit the magic realm. That’s why you have the Glimmerstone.

Rule 5: You have to move into a dorm if you want to go to university, except if you live in Henford-on-Bagley or Windenburg. In that case university housing is optional.

Rule 6: Your minimum vacation in a destination world is 5 days (4 nights)

Rule 7: Batuu is an amusement park in a virtual reality. You can freely visit any time for any amount of time.

Mod Suggestions

Of course you can make world groups, but the game doesn't care. It will spawn sims from all worlds. If you don't want to have Caleb Vatore as bartender at Sulani, you need a mod.

Previously, I used Lotharihoe's Sim Spawn Overhaul, it still works as far as I know. I found this when I wanted to have stray dogs in all worlds, but it's much more than that!

Lately I use Kuttoe's Home Regions mod paired with Townie Demograpfics. It's a little bit more complex, but also assigns homeless sims to worlds, so you don't have to home every walkby townies. With Townie Demographics the randomly generated sims are not so random.

For high school immersion, I recommend Rex's Choose High School Classmates mod.

Going to try a Rags to... something or other! The rules I'll be using:

Goals: build and furnish a house, change Port Promise to Green, and finish an aspiration (I’m going for Nerd Brain).

Start in Evergreen Harbour, on the Shipping Views lot, with Port Promise set to Industrial.

Shipping Views lot starts out empty aside from a poohoo bush. Challenges/traits balance a positive and a negative - off the grid, and homey.

YA or older Sim, one positive and one negative trait (I'll be using freegan and neat).

Vote on and make use of the community space.

Visiting other locations, like the San Myshuno markets and assorted community spaces in other worlds, allowed and encouraged.

Avoiding buying from the catalogue, other than construction items, power and water items (solar panels, dew collectors, etc), until at least $100,000 earned.

Tiny Home Residential lot type a good idea!

No CC or mods.

Will be using the tag ‘rags to something or other’!

Contrary to common belief, the IS another space port on the planet, and it is conveniently close to Godmother’s base, too. The place is run by old Captain Cahill, his half-Mawg son Pries and his household slave Daneel. Both younger men are also expert rocket tecnicians in old Cpt. Cahill’s image.

Oh, and Whitaker the local guard dragog, of course.

This private space port is used by everyone who cannot afford San Myshuno’s fees, or who have to avoid dealings with the planetary governments. Of course this brings those daring (or desperate) souls deep into Godmother’s domain, so whatever business brought the strangers here in the first place, often enough it ends with them being without a ship – or literally ends them. And whenever that happens, George Cahill can add a new heap of plastic and wires to his collection, to use as spare parts to sell to the needy or to upgrade the Old Penelope.

The smuggler Dan Lambert had been such a case, who had his rocketship literally ripped apart by a cloud of spores. He survived by sheer luck and now lives as George’s servant, a feeble protection from Godmother’s still smoldering anger at him.

George: “Can you imagine who just called? The Four Fangs! They’re in serious trouble.”

Pries: “The mommy-boys? Have they finally gotten on their Godmother’s wrong, uh, root?”

George: “We’ll know soon enough…”

Daneel: “Their version of the story, anyway.”

Ares, Andrea, and Nim rode to the city together. They would all be living on the same block not far from the SIMSA training center. Nim took off to his apartment as soon as they arrived but Andrea and Ares wanted to look around a bit before settling in. It was just so exciting, you know?

I’m using the Space Port San Myshuno lot for Ares’s adventures in the city.

The adventurer shop is too tiny for all of them to fit in so Rubyn starts outfitting them with Ji Ho and Jeb.

Vlad already noticed that something has changed with his eyes. The Bond is playing tricks on him again. But it got worse after he sees Ji Ho together with the others.

THEY are the reason why Ji Ho wants to cut the Bond. To protect THEM from the Council! (Uhm Vlad, you wanted that too (?)) Vlad could live happily with his bonded Ji Ho if it weren't for THEM! Oh oh ö.Ö'

Tanglewood, despite being dominated by Godmother’s spores, isn’t exactly a one-biome planet. The north and south polar regions have a cold enough climate that doesn’t allow her spores to survive. Here a number of city-states can be found, the largest of them being San Myshuno, that also houses the planet’s only space port.

When Hank arrives here, he regrets not having donned a winter coat for several hours already. He severly needs a full meal, a schnaps and a warm bed. At least the first item on this list has to get satisfied before meeting the fence.

A junior officer of the First Order in casual uniform hogs the vendor stall, a reminder of their far-reaching influence. Hank tries his best to ignore the man.

Vendor: “Hello and welcome to San Myshuno! What would you like? We have a great iceberg salad today!”

Daniel: “Can recommend!”

Hank: “You know what? I’ll buy one. The one this man here hasn’t paid for, to be precise. And a spicy soup for myself.”

San Myshuno Space Port

this spaceport was built when San Myshuno started to exploit the Mineral deposits of sixam. but they did not just bring Minerals and Ores. there were some spores and seeds on the ships too… they somehow captured the areal, the owners got a bit paranoid and abandoned the spaceport some of the pilots and mineworkers occupied this place and turned it into a shiny haven

there's a lot to discover: Food Stands, Dance Club, Arcade, Gym, Science Lab, 4 Appartements for humanoids and 1 for a felidae lifeform (aka cat^^), Aerospace Security in the Top of the Tower, Hang out on the Rooftop ...
