Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) is a complex, brain-based condition that affects how individuals perceive and respond to sensory input from their environment. It occurs when the brain has difficulty effectively organizing and interpreting information from the senses—such as touch, sound, taste, smell, and movement.

For those living with SPD, sensory input may feel intense, unpredictable, or misinterpreted, which can lead to challenges in everyday situations.

SPD is best understood as a spectrum. Individuals may exhibit a broad range of sensory sensitivities or sensory-seeking behaviors. Some may be hypersensitive, reacting strongly to even mild stimuli and experiencing sensory overload. Others may be hyposensitive, craving intense sensory experiences or showing reduced responsiveness to input.

Understanding and supporting individuals with SPD involves recognizing these differences and tailoring environments, tools, and strategies to help them thrive.

👉🏻SCROLL for Video peek ————————————————- Fab inspiration trip to a museum which had an interesting 17th century embroidered morning cap of Charles I on display behind a curtain to protect the delicate pigments ... On his journey back to London he stopped off in Farnham and unable to pay for his lodgings he left his richly decorated cap to his host and it became a treasured heirloom which is to this day passed down generation by generation ...
