Part 2

Michelle's biggest divergence is her family which includes her parents and siblings. This is one reason why she's paired with May Parker as her mentor, because May has parents and a sibling too. Except Michelle's family doesn't know about her being Spider-woman, even though she has a good relationship with them. They worry about her living so far, she sees it as protecting them.

Despite the secrecy, she's very emotionally well adjusted being Spider-woman and its demands on her life. Being able to share the workload with Jessica and Cindy and have reliable allies is the main contributor to her work life balance. 

Michelle has experienced a few canon events, other than being bitten. She has fewer canon events than most spiders because of Jessica and Cindy, her move from her family, and extreme separation of her spider and regular life.

The three Spider-women experienced various spider canon events, as if they split it among themselves.

Michelle has experienced a Captain Stacy event.

Being Spider-woman has also worked out well for Michelle because her husband KNOWS she's spider woman. 

Patrick has been a part of Michelle's life from a young age. After an eternity of will-they or won't-they, they finally became a couple and were eventually married. She told him her identity after he proposed, not wanting it to be an issue in their marriage. While surprised, he takes the news well. He supports her however he can, mostly by moving to New York for her.

They were only able to get together during a time when she experienced a major canon event: she lost her spider powers. After two years of being Spider woman, a significant fight with Electro resulted in power loss when she tried to fight alone. He caught her and tried to stop her heart with multiple electricity strikes.

She barely manages to get away.

"It felt like I was being ripped apart," she whispers to Jessica while shaking. 

Michelle looks at her trembling hands, "I-I can't make it stop."

Jessica takes Michelle's hands between her own, "imagine holding yourself together. We'll be here until you're able."

In the morning, her spider abilities are gone.

At first, she tried working with Doctor Strange and the spider women to regain her powers.

When nothing worked, she scheduled a long return visit to California to be close with her family. Feeling lost, she reached out to childhood friends in order to regain something normal in her life.

Michelle and Patrick started dating after a month, but she regained her powers soon after. She returned to New York and they started dating long distance, which helped keep her spider woman life a secret.

Patrick moves in after the wedding. It's a relief to have someone she can completely be herself with.

Once the spider society recruited her, she left the library and worked at HQ full time. She felt that her universe was protected and in capable hands.

Her explanation to family and friends is that she's working for an organization that requires complete discretion/secrecy. Most people think she works for a government agency.

Her main condition for joining the society was to keep Patrick updated if something happened to her and bring him with her if she moved on site. She refused to keep this a secret from him. Patrick still works a regular job to keep up appearances for their lifestyle. 

Michelle knows she would have the most impact helping younger spiders. After probation, she specialized in helping/mentoring spiders with children who were already developing spider powers like Peter B's Mayday, and spiders younger than 13.

YEAH !!!!!! i’m obviously heartbroken for logan and i despise james vowles what else is new but franco getting a seat even if its for half a season is so so so exciting !!!

i don’t think people really understand the importance of motorsport in argentina, and having an argentinian driver in the grid after 23 years is a HUGE event. like. franco has an entire country and its legacy in f1 (carlos reutemann, juan manuel fangio) behind him. not only that, but if you check franco’s comment section its filled with other argentinians congratulating him and cheering him on as an argentinian myself i can confirm we are really really enthusiastic about sports soo

so yeah. it goes without saying how horrible this situation is for logan, but seeing franco in f1 is so so so exciting and i’m hoping the best for him <3

Michelle was bitten by a radioactive spider in her 20s while in university on a school newspaper job.

She studied communications and literature.

"Knowledge is a right and access should not be a privilege."

She lives in a MCU like universe with lots of other superheroes. She's not the only spider person in her world. There was a Peter Parker, but he's gone now. 

Michelle is from the west coast but got a scholarship to a school in New York. 

After graduating, she moved to New York permanently.

She works/worked as a children's librarian at the New York Public Library.

After being bit, she got the attention of the other spider-women during a villain incident at her work. She threw a book at a villain with enough force to knock them out. 

Their spider senses picked up on each other. 

At that, the spider-woman in red came up and asked, "are you like us?"

"I think so."

She gave Michelle a way to contact them whenever she was ready.

That's how she met Cindy Moon, Silk, and Jessica Drew, Spider-Woman.

She reached out to them soon after. They helped Michelle train her abilities and supplied her with a suit and web shooters. Their work with her is heavily influenced by their past (Silk was trained then locked away for 10 years. Jessica was brainwashed and trained by HYDRA until she escaped their control). They want her to have a better experience.

CQ NEWS (Eddie DeYoung, AE7AA, Named CQ Magazine Awards Editor). A press

release, dated August 29th, from Richard Moseson (W2VU), Editor of CQ

Amateur Radio, reports the following: Eddie De Young, AE7AA, of Clearwater,

Florida, has been named Awards Editor of CQ Amateur Radio magazine, Editor

Rich Moseson, W2VU, announced today. His first Awards column appears in

the September 2019 issue. De Young succeeds Ted Melinosky, K1BV, who was

both Awards Editor and USA-Counties Award Custodian for more than 20 years.

CQ previously announced the appointment of Brian Bird, NX0X, as the new

USA-CA custodian.

De Young has been licensed since 1954 and has, over the years, held more

than two dozen call signs from 11 different countries. He spent 38 years

in the Pacific, Asia and Antarctica, including many in Australia. While

there, he served as Awards Manager for the Wireless Institute of Australia,

where he helped modernize the program and developed software to improve

award processing. He has also been on nearly a dozen DXpeditions.

Since returning to the United States, Eddie has worked summers for the

National Park Service as a park ranger at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park

and at Glacier National Park in Montana. On the ham bands, he is active

via remote stations and with limited operation from his new apartment,

with 100 watts and a homemade fractal square loop on his balcony. Eddie

enjoys operating primarily CW and digital modes.

De Young says he plans to offer hints in his column on earning CQ awards

of all kinds, inform newbies how to get started on their award hunting

quests and share how much fun and educational award-chasing can be. Eddie

also says he plans to include occasional competitions, award nostalgia

and ideas from readers.

CQ Editor Rich Moseson said, “Eddie brings a world of experience from

all over the world to this position. As an avid award chaser as well as

someone who has ‘been the DX,’ he understands both sides of the award-

hunting equation and is uniquely qualified to help CQ’s readers achieve

the greatest possible success in their own award-hunting efforts. Plus,

as former awards manager for a national association, he understands the

administrative side of award programs as well. I look forward to working

with Eddie.”

a Single-Op/Single-Band (20m)/High-Power/Unassisted entry in the contest.

year, informed OPDX on Saturday morning that they were in Singapore, and

they should be starting their Pacific Tour that night by the time you

read this. Their tentative schedule is as follows:

Tonga — Signing as A35JY between September 16-21st

SPECIAL EVENT (Highway to a DX Party!). The Citrus Belt Amateur Radio

Club of San Bernardino <w6jbt.org>, California, is once again hosting

(probably one of the most fun special event activities) the 20th annual

“Route 66 On The Air” special event between September 7-15th. The purpose

of this event is to offer amateur radio operators a fun way to “Relive

the Ride” of their own memories of Route 66, and to celebrate the highway’s

93rd anniversary. The U.S. Highway 66 established in 1926, was the first

major improved highway to link the west coast with the nation’s heartland.

Through stories, songs, and TV shows, the highway came to symbolize the

spirit of the freedom of the open road, inspiring many to see America.

operators. NOTE: ONLY W6S AND W6T ARE ONLY THE OFFICIAL EVENT

event from their local VHF/UHF repeaters. Check the ARRL repeater

He is there working for the Médecins Sans Frontières [MSF](Doctors With-

ZK3A TOKELAU ISLANDS DXPEDITION NEWS (Update). The following was reported

of the Islands in Tokelau (Fakaofo, Nukunonu & Atafu).

* The Amateur Radio Club in Tokelau will have callsigns for each of these

* Each club stations utilize electricity from the islands solar panels.

* The ZK3A team will be donating to all 3 islands the following.

TS-590S, Dipole for 40m & 20m, A3S and a 800w Linear Amplifier.

* In addition the team has shipped 3 x 6 KVA generators to be used

during our activation. At the end of our time on the island, we

will be donating these generators to each of the Tokelau Islands.
