okay so this is a 4maxo au technically—

Because in this musical, Curt and Owen are lovers buuuuut Curt kills Owen on accident and then Owen comes back as DMA (aka as Vegetta which I also logic-ed out because DMA and Owen are the only British accent folks in this show and q!Vegetta has a reputation for being a little bloodthirsty)

also in this show, Curt thinks he gets a crush on Tatiana (he is gay so that was not a crush) and I equate that to the whole Philever saga (also q!Philza as Tati makes me sad because Tatiana has to ditch her family for their safety and she becomes a young assassin and it kinda reminds me of Passerine which ik this isn’t dsmp but that is RIGHT THERE)

Watch it if you haven't, I'm gonna try not to spoiler it with the au.

But also this au will make like absolutely zero sense if you dont know the plot of spies are forever.

SO this au is an (american) high school AU. It’s Wilbur’s senior year and the theatre department is basically his to run. So he writes his own musical (Spies are Forever) and acts as the triple threat he is, directing, casting, and acting in his own masterpiece.

The cast is pretty much only made up of Wilbur’s friends, who have been forcefully dragged into his world. The lead is none other than football star Dream himself who finds himself wanting to try something different in his last year of high school, resulting in endless teasing from the other guys on the team, but hey, what can he say, it seemed like fun.

Great.

So Wilbur writes this entire musical and casts it but he's having trouble finding his "Owen", he conscripts (read: forces) his twin brother, fencing star and academic whiz Technoblade, into participating in his musical. He breaks the fourth wall a few too many times for Wilbur's sanity, but over all, it works. Owen is a smaller role for the show so Wilbur's not too worried UNTIL , dun dun dun, Techno finds out he has a fencing tournament that coinsides with the show and has to drop out. Wilbur speedruns the seven stages of grief about the show being ruined and only Niki is able to remotely console him.

Now, Dream has been pretty nervous about starring in his first ever musical so he'd often use his boyfriend George to practice his lines/songs with. As a result, George knows the part of Owen pretty well and even has the british accent necessary for the role. Dream and Wilbur beg him to take it, and he caves and BOOM, DNF. (if you know, you know, someone is going to assainate me for this au, i just know it)

And if Wilbur realizes he'll never get the rights to Hamilton and writes his own version around some fake place called L'Manburg for the spring musical? Well lets just say it was meant to be <3.

And yeah, this is one of mine (and clairs <3333 beloved) favorite aus of all time, its so niche and dear to us. OH YEAH, cannonical SBI family dynamic in case you were wondering and lots of characters attend the hs, they just aren't in the theatre program lmao. (theres karlnapity, puffychu, etc)

thinking about Spies Are Forever a lot recently (and yes it's because of a dsmp au that I'm thinking about) and like, Doing This is such a blessing of a song for aro and ace spec people! at the time of me first seeing Spies Are Forever I didn't even know I was aroace but it was so so nice to have a story actively acknowledge the pressure to have sex with or date every person of the opposite gender that you like! and to have the characters be so relieved when they see that they can just be friends and have their relationship mean just as much???? that's huge!! and I just now realize how much it actually helped me...

damn... that's really a great musical...
