About Sprig and Ivy

First of all: A Complaint 

Giving the audience incorrect information or disregarding the rules you have set is not growth or development, it's frustrating and destroys characters. If you want things to develop, then develop them and SHOW US the thing developing!

I hate it when the entire show/movie/book/episode/whatever they're all: "We're just friends. We don't like it when people joke about us or try to force us into a romantic relationship. It's just not like that! Please, STOP. We can be good friends and not be romantic or sexual! It's true! We can be close platonically! Don't be rude. Don't be stupid. Come ON. Grow up! We. Are. Friends." And it’s played like the whole lesson.

Then the final scene is just “we’re in love! We love each other! Romantically! Both of us!!”

And, listen, I don’t want to be a pude, but setting up an episode like the moral is gonna be “not every meaningful relationship is romantic and it’s wrong to assume/force it” and then saying “ACTUALLY THEY WERE RIGHT ALL ALOT LOL ISNT THAT FUNNY?” is just a tad aphobic. Or at least it hurts my aro feelings to be toyed with... I was so hopeful... 

I don’t know it I’d call it baiting but yeah it freaking feels like baiting.

just- PARDON??? I can tell you thought you were being subversive like 'look at us! We're breaking this troupe!' but then at the very last scene make it seem like they were soulmates who always had secret feelings for each other? Just... so annoying. Makes me nauseous. Now both your message and your romance have fallen flat. Shame on you.

But hey, I hate the game, not the players. 

Other than how they were introduced I LOVE these guys.

Do you know how good a romance has to be played (especially child romance) for me to still love it after it played my least favorite troupe the worst way possible? I don’t even like a lot of romance (doesn’t mean I hate it it just doesn't do much for me). It takes a very special case for me to be invested at all but these characters are so good im just dawww. if they were introduced WITHOUT insisting they were not going to be a romantic couple I would have literally nothing bad to say about them. 

Translation: please dont kill me for criticizing this
