BREAKING NEWS: Here's the highlights from Minecraft Live March 2025:

First up, we got a release date for the Spring to Life drop! This arrives to the game on March 25th! It brings with it warm and cold variants of the pig, sheep, and cow, as well as new ambient features such as falling leaves and whispers of sand, and finally sees the inclusion of fireflies!

Second up, Vibrant Visuals! A new graphics setting is coming to Minecraft! This brings with it enhanced lighting, including sunlight shining through trees, reflective water, and more!

Finally, Mojang unveiled another feature coming to the game: Happy Ghasts! In the Nether, you'll find a new block called the Dried Ghast! Once re-hydrated and fully grown, you can equip them with a saddle and ride them!

#today I went digging under the couch to figure out where all her springs went #and found THREE of my d20s which I guess she stole during my last dnd game without my noticing #like I knew she was picking up my dice but I didn’t realize she was STEALING THEM AND DROPPING THEM UNDER THE COUCH #she’s a menace to society with zero common sense too much energy zero fear and a talent for being annoying on purpose #when she wants my attention she will not just go do something she knows she shouldn’t #she will loudly meow first to make sure I’m watching. and then do the thing she knows she shouldn’t #she’s a PEST and she’ll be one year old on February 2nd #and I love her even if she’s probably an alien #asks #and yes her eyes are actually that brown/orange in real life #midna is: very vocal. extremely bossy. probably the pickiest cat on the planet. big fan of eating plastic tho #crunchy treats? chewy treats? of any flavor? freeze dried minnows? no #plastic bag? mmm yum munch munch

Hang on thought about pastry arts school again

#like. why and HOW did i go through 2 full years of college and not graduate with an associates #how did they get away with stringing me along for 1.5+ years as a pastry arts major with no pastry chef #the one pastry class i did have when i met the pastry chef before he quit. it was like. taunting #bc it wasnt extremely new info to me it was baking 101. but the chef was such an amazing teacher #and i was so excited to learn from him #and i cant blame him at all for quitting like bro i wouldn't wanna work there either !!!!#they couldn't hire another pastry chef for almost 2 years bc NO ONE WANTED TO WORK FOR THE PROGRAM HEAD #i know of 2 separate stories where one chef in the area wanted to get into teaching and then heard who the boss chef was and said oh nvm 😬#and one chef who got hired and then quit before he could start bc he couldn't stand to work with that man #like i Know the food service industry is tough and intense and chefs have a reputation for being jerks #i Know that. and multiple people warned me of that before i started. and sometimes im like wow i was wrong i couldn't actually handle it #everyone told me i couldn't handle it and i said yes i could and then i couldn't #but is that really what happened???? bc there were other jerk chefs in that school!! and still no one could stand that ONE MAN!!!!!#we literally complained to the president of the college. and she said uwu hes doing his best 🥺#bc thats the thing with him. you think hes nice until you're in the kitchen with him. he IS nice until youre in the kitchen with him #i truly think he designed the course in order to weed out the weak ones #and ig it worked bc so many people dropped out !!!!! but like . sir. i started that program at 17 years old #a fully prepared 17 year old. a smart 17 year old. a talented 17 year old. an eager and excited 17 year old. but a 17 year old #we were learning how to COOK not DISARM BOMBS. i hope hes glad that my 17-19 year old self got weeded out for being weak.#congratulations man you broke me.#literally he gave me the worst panic attack of my life on the first day and was so mean to me bc of my anxiety and how shy i was #to the point that i finally admitted i needed to go to the doctor #and then when i started some meds. and also was OUT OF HIS CLASS. and in the pastry class. and was a little more comfortable #he wanted to take credit for 'bringing me out of my shell' 😐 and i wish i had said what i was thinking. and looked him in the eye #and said thanks its cause of the drugs.#not only were the internship hours insane but also the class hours and the graduating test #i get that the classes have to be longer bc we need time for things to cook but . 8/9 hours ??? dudeeee #obviously i didn't get to the graduating test class thing but the way he described it sounded like torture 😭#and ofc you cant find that info online before you enroll. and they only offered it in summer #so if you finished in fall you still had to wait through spring to technically graduate. assuming you pass the week long torture test

There’s truly no joy like a northern mix in snow up to their chest

I wanted to stay on the already trampled path around the meadow perimeter, Kal said we had to go through the middle so he could look for bunnies

#i ended up doing over a mile in snow up to (and sometimes above) my knees :’)#because i dropped my phone in the snow after taking videos of kal and didnt notice until we were back on the sidewalk :’)#then when i trecked back with a flashlight and my watch i found out i couldnt ping it without wifi #so i had to go back AGAIN to get zuzu so he could make a hotspot and we brought a shovel in case we had to do a grid search #thankfully the battery held on JUST long enougj to ping it #which was good bc it was a solid 40ft from where i assumed it fell out of my pocket so we wouldntve found it till spring #and it still works perfectly fine :D yippeeee #battery life might end up being a bit shot from the cold but so far it seems to be holding up fine #kaladin puppy #.txt #also kal is leashed here #his long line is actually a camping tie out cable (bc he snapped the metal on his regular long line) so its hard to see #kal is probably never going to be an off leash dog #because as much as i know he loves me. he would absolutely just take off to explore and he has the borzoi ‘wtf is a car’ gene #in theory he is trained with multiple recalls #in practice he is not. or at least not enough that id ever risk losing him

So, lesson learned: the calico eggs from the calico festival don't get saved after it ends and hence can't be used next year, I just spent 3 days mostly in the caves earning a currency I didn't end up spending 🙃 (150+whatever the adventure guy would've given me for gathering like 10+ eggs in the caves on the last day)

#On a good note I FINALLY realized what the whole luck deal is about #Mid spring year 2 #F to me for fishing and going to the caves and stuff with the unluckiest spirits debuff 🫡#Honestly knowing about this is a life changer it never clicked for me why sometimes I get insane loot and sometimes... Coal #I realized by going on the best luck one day&a mob dropped that insane cave candy thing #+mining+defence+attack #And most importantly +luck #Honestly I was waiting for the game to tell the mechanic through tv or a book at this point #Svtag #On another good note the festival was fun I'll just focus much less on the caves next time #The food mechanic is very fun #I'll probably just use the luck food to farm omni geodes #(Which is the only thing I did semi right on this festival I have like 30 of them)#But yeah I'm not going to the mines right now
