I finally got Blaire!!! I’ve been wanting her ever since I saw her, and I was able to make a trade for her 💖💖💖
She’s a bit tlc but not too bad, just some marks on her face and her lip paint was rubbed off. I gave her some color but I’ll probably take it off later when I can get a pinker color!
I made this dress awhile ago, and I’ve gotten so many dolls lately that I don’t have any extra clothes now so I’ve gotta get working on some more, I really love her meet dress so I may make something similar to that.
I saw a photo challenge that ends today so I made her a lil fairy edit to match the theme 🧚♀️

Spring Has Sprung photo challenge, week 4: Snacks
Josefina’s favorite snack is piñón nuts! She and her family gather them every autumn from the pinyon pine trees that grow in the foothills of the mountains. These flavorful and nutritious little seeds are usually traded for other things, but Josefina and her sisters are glad that some are roasted and kept for snacking.

Spring Has Sprung 2022: Week 1: Reading
Molly is spending a Saturday reading about the adventures of another 1940s girl, Nanea, and what it is like to grow up in Hawaii at the beginning of the War, shortly after the attack on Pearl Harbor. She has her own Nanea doll, too.

Spring Has Sprung Week 1: Reading

Liane and Casey love to hang out in their room and read! When Casey (pictured right) moved in with her cousin in Lethbridge, Alberta, she had to leave many of her possessions behind. She could only bring two books, so she chose her very favourites, Pollyanna, and Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm. Luckily, Liane had many to share. She loves to read adventure novels!

Here is a close up of the books. Doll sized books are a very quick craft, so I made several! I found covers of the books I wanted online, printed them out, and glued them to cardboard from a cereal box. I painted the cardboard to match using acrylic paint, then glued in recycled paper for pages. I also made schoolbooks, but I’ll show those in a later post about their school supplies.

This one is my favourite, and the cover is so detailed!

Photo challenge week 1: Reading!
Im always late to the photo challenges but my partner loves taking ones so I know he was excited with these ideas.
All the minis Ive had since childhood so they are not in the best shape.
Orchid loves Josefina as she totally relates to the struggle of learning English (as shes originally from Colombia) and loves the bond of her family.
Dani and Samantha are an interesting bunch. She feels Samantha is much more outspoken than she is, but her mom got her Samantha because she thought Dani was super outspoken.
For Ali, Felicity was given to her because she's always been called spunky growing up. Ali's not the type to just be calm when something's on her mind. She wants to take care of it and do what she wants in that moment!

Spring Has Sprung: Dolly Photo Challenge Spring 2022
Welcome to the spring doll photo challenge! My dolls and I are all very excited to get this started, and we hope that you guys enjoy this too! We wanted to make this a fun and hopefully unique challenge so we ended up basing the prompts around some of the maybe lesser known holidays taking place April-June! This is an absolutely no pressure challenge, please feel free to participate as much or as little as you want to, we’re all just here to have fun! I’m using the tag #springhassprungag2022 for this challenge if you guys want to use it too (and please, even though this challenge was made primarily with American Girl Doll Tumblr in mind if you have other kinds of dolls who want to participate they are totally welcome as well!) I can’t wait to see what you guys come up with!
Week One April 3rd-9th: Reading
This week’s prompt is based on this week being National Library Week! Do your dolls love going to the library? Do they love to read? Books, comics, manga, magazines, fanfiction—it doesn’t matter what form it comes in, we support all forms of reading here! Show your dolls visiting the library or enjoying their favorite form of reading!
Week Two April 10th-16th: Pets
National Pet Day is April 11th so this week we are showcasing our favorite pets. Show your dolls interacting with the pets in their lives or, if they don’t have any pets, celebrating their favorite animals!
Week Three April 17th-April 23rd: Self care
National Stress Awareness Day is April 18th so this week is focusing on self-care. How do your dolls practice self-care—spending time with loved ones, taking walks, reading a good book, yoga? Let’s take this week to focus on how we and our dolls should take the time to take care of ourselves!
Week Four April 24th-April 30th: Snacks
April 26th is National Pretzel Day, so this week let your dolls share their favorite snacks (or other foods that are important in their lives)! (Alternate: I know that food can be a rough subject for some of us so if it is for you no explanation needed. Feel free to share your doll enjoying their favorite spring scents or something else spring themed that they enjoy, or use this week as free prompt week to post something else that makes you feel good and happy—just because last week was self-care week doesn’t mean it isn’t something we should focus on every week!)
Week Five May 1st-May 7th: Cartoons
May 5th is Cartoonist Day and May 7th is Free Comic Book Day so this week we’re celebrating all things cartoon! Do your dolls love animated movies and shows? Can they not get enough of comic books or manga? Show your dolls celebrating their favorite cartoon media!
Week Six May 8th-May 14th: Birds
May 14th is National Migratory Bird Day so this week bird is the word! Does your dolls have any special birds in their lives? Do they love bird watching? Do they have a favorite type of bird they think everyone should know about? Show you dolls celebrating their favorite birds! Alternate: In the theme of migration, spring can be a time for change. Do your dolls have any changes going on in their lives that they’d like to share?
Week Seven May 15th-May 21st: Museum
May 18th is National Museum Day! This could be a great chance for your dolls to show off their favorite museums, or it could be a great week to focus on all the things museums promote learning about: history, science, art, you name it, show your dolls learning about these things or let them take this chance to teach us all about something they’re passionate about!
Week Eight May 22nd-May 28th: Dress Up
May 24th is International Tiara Day so this week is dedicated to dress up! Whether your dolls want to dress up as royalty, put on their fanciest clothes, or just show off their favorite outfits this is the week to rock whatever clothes make them happiest!
Week Nine May 29th-June 4th: Rainbow
Guess what month it is? PRIDE month!!! I know we have a lot of rainbow dolls on here so this is the perfect week to let your dolls show their Pride! If none of your dolls are part of the community that’s okay too, show your dolls wearing rainbows or otherwise showing their support as allies!
Week Ten June 5th-June 11th: Ocean
June 8th is World Ocean Day so this week we’re focusing on the ocean and all the amazing things in and around it! You can show your dolls enjoying the ocean or a beach, learning about the ocean and its creatures, or maybe they want to go the extra mile and do something to help protect the ocean like organizing a beach cleanup—the choice is up to you! (Please just remember to be careful if you’re taking dollies around actual water—moldy stuffing and rusty eye sockets are no joke!)
Week Eleven June 12th-June 18th: Outdoors
June 15th is National Nature Photography Day, June 17th is Take a Road Trip Day, and June 18th is International Picnic Day, so this is the week to get outside if you can! Show your dolls getting out of the house to enjoy nature or any of their other favorite activities! If you or your dolls can’t get outside that’s okay—you can show us your dolls showing off their favorite plants, learning about nature, having an indoor picnic, whatever you’re most comfortable with!
Week Twelve June 19th-June 25th: Magic
June 24th is National Fairy/Faery Day so I thought for this week we could focus on mythical creatures and magic! Show your doll dressed up as a mythical creature, reading a book or watching a movie about magic, practicing magic, whatever you think fits this theme!

Spring Has Sprung, Week One: Reading
Aster and Stacy both love reading, but they have different methods of doing so. Aster has to move around a lot while she reads otherwise she falls asleep, while Stacy likes to set up lots of pillows and a cozy blanket so she can get comfortable right away and focus on reading. Which type of reader are you?
Aster's book: The Ironwood Tree (The Spiderwick Chronicles, Book 4) by Holly Black and Tony DiTerlizzi
Stacy's book: Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbit

Spring has Sprung AG challenge week 2: Pets

"I think your kittens have grown a little, Rebecca...."
"He's still really soft though!"
This is my and @bestnoncannonship ',s cat Samson. He has an almost identical sister, Leelu, who is not so agreeable about photography. Samantha and Rebecca love the cats, and the cats seem to love them too!

Spring Has Sprung Week 10: Ocean Part 1
This semester wound up being a lot more than I expected and I didn't get many of these in. But! I intend to do the last 3! Today, I wandered down to the beach with Anne.

Anne can wander along the road and see the ocean near where she lives--it is an island, after all.

Sometimes she climbs trees along the road. Do I know how precarious this was? Absolutely. Does she? She is figuring that out right now.

She went down to the beach with some friends. She was under some strict instructions not to get in or near the water for fear of ruining her dress, since she doesn't have a swimsuit. But luckily for her...

Marilla never specified anything about climbing on rocks pretending to be a princess forced into an isolated tower.

Image of Anne being proud of herself for climbing the rock about 30 seconds before she spins excitedly and topples off.
And bonus:

Imagining she is a tragic young widow always watching the sea and wondering if her love shall return.

Spring has sprung: Pets
Mari-Luz doesn’t have any real pets, but she is responsible for watching over and feeding this motherless lamb.

They get along beautifully.

Maria de la Luz de San Geronimo is an OC I’ve been working on for awhile. She is 8 years old, growing up in the 1820s at the mission at San Antonio de Bexar (of Alamo fame). She was abandoned at the mission as a newborn and no one knows who either of her parents were/are. She was therefore given the surname of de San Geronimo, as St. Jerome is the patron saint of orphans. Geronimo is the Spanish version of Jerome. She was named Maria de la Luz, as the priest who found her, Father Esteban, first saw her in a ray of sunshine on the steps of the mission chapel. When she’s not in trouble, most people call her Mari-Luz.
She’s an ex-Kanani with a new wig, and I wanted the character to be of indeterminate parentage. I never clicked with this doll as Kanani, even with a new wig, so I decided to make her into a Texas historical OC because I love Josefina’s stories, but I’m trying not to get more dolls. (And now I have an excuse to collect Josefina’s stuff!)
I finally got around to making her camisa and skirt, so I’m making progress on my to-do list for 2022. 😊 I want to make her a drop spindle and wooden rosary, and maybe a rag doll, as accessories.

Spring has Sprung photo challenge, week 1: Reading
Zoe is canonically a book lover. She visits the library every day after school, and today she spent an hour picking out the perfect stack of books to read over the weekend with her doll, Addy!
I put Zoe’s hair into cute twists, just like Makena Williams, whose book Zoe has also read.

Spring Has Sprung 2022: Week 8: Dress Up
Me being totally behind schedule wasn’t going to stop me from dressing up Molly in her Miss Victory outfit for Memorial Day here in the US and to coincide with the news of Molly’s return.
She loves dressing up in her costume and practicing her tap dance moves! ❤️🤍💙

Spring Has Sprung Week 1: Reading
I’m a little behind on the challenge, but I couldn’t resist the urge to show off Kit and Ruthie rereading Kit’s favorite book, Robin Hood.
This copy of Robin Hood was actually my dad’s back in the 60’s, which Kit and Ruthie appreciate the history of.

Well, I decided to have some dun and hit all three mini-prompts: nature photography, picnic, and road trip, each with a different doll!
Kaya was up firstI’d just got her adorned deer-skin dress from Mercari, and I remembered the creek on the frisbee golf course at our nearby park, so headed out to grab some cool pictures—had to dodge a few families playing frisbee golf, but no one got hit and everyone had fun!
Kirsten was next, and she and I had a delightful picnic lunch in a different portion of the same park on a different day: a nice way to relax on a Sunday afternoon!
Finally, it was Josefina’s turn for ‘Road Trip’. It was a mini one: just up the valley to a state park for a few hours, but we both had a great time—though she got to rest all the way back while I had to drive!
