Some headcanons I made up for my "Springy is Bows dad" hc/au/idfk

-Since Springy was in a commercial Bow wanted to follow in his footsteps

-Since everyone was children I'm assuming when the Springtastic commercial came out, I'll assume that Bow was also a child (like 4 or 5 since I hc her to be a bit younger than the others on the show)

-When the commercial and cereal came out Bow would should "DADS ON THE TV!!" or "DADS ON THE CEREAL BOX!!" all excitedly and Springy would just laugh and say "Yep, thats me!"

-Hmm divorced single father Springy (divorced when Bow was a small baby and no I do not know what object to combine with a spring to make a bow)

-Either Bow would eat Springtastic cereal everyday OR Springy would mostly give Bow healthy food options for breakfast since the cereal is everything but that

-During Springys more famous era he tried to keep Bow far away from the cameras and stuff, so much so that no one knows Bow is Springys daughter

-Bow daddys girl REALL (I mean mom ain't around)

-Before Springy made his cereal and Bow was still small, he was working a regular, tiring, 9 to 5 job. He never liked it but he was doing it for Bow so she could have a good life

-Random asf but Bow was into soccer during high school and Springy would always cheer her on during games

-When Inanimate Insanity first came around and Bow wanted to be on it, Springy was hesitant about it but let her go

Ricky/Rickety is based on an alternate concept for a lively object: a rocket, mentioned in a BFDI + II meetup short.

Spring-Mom and Spring-Dad are based on a concept for Springy's family from character.ai. Springy's parents are divorced.

I have conflicted feelings about that silly Springtastic Springy...

On the one hand, I know that I should not like him in the slightest. They are little more than a corporate husk of self-interest that purposefully profiteers off of your nostalgia. By reinforcing your insecurities and fears, he creates a false sense of security in a product -- your life will be more complete if you just buy, buy, buy! -- that discourages self-reflection and reinforces complacency in capitalistic practices.

But, on the other hand... they are cute. He has an endearing voice. They spring (hehe) around with a charming effervescent spirit. I want to like him.

Isn't that the point, though? Springy lures people/objects in with their disarming attitude, then manipulates them for his own gain. By enjoying his wiles, I almost feel as though I am falling for their tricks. If this was some generic corrupt business type who clearly does not mean well, I believe I could easily spot the insincerity from a mile away. Conversely, Springy is outwardly kind and fun; therefore, I want to give him more chances and believe there is good in them, even if there isn't any redemption to be found in his technological soul (or lack thereof).

I suppose my dilemma with Springy says something about me and the way I process relationships.

In conclusion:

I hate this hack. I want to give them a hug.

hey before the year ends i really need to make this confession

i've already stated this in my springy fanart self reblog but some months ago i managed to convince my brother that the springtastic cereal from iii was a real thing. i straight up made this elaborate story on how "tiktok unearthed an old 2000s cereal commercial and people are trying to turn the mascot into a tumblr sexyman" and he bought into it LMFAO-

he did have concerns when i told him there were actual springs in the cereal but a random comment convinced him they were like chocolate or marshmallows and he said "ah okay"

my brother claims he 'left the osc' and hasn't been caught up with ANY object show for like, a year or two now, so that's how i managed to convince him on this lie lkejdfjsdfhjsdfh-
