Thanks to the @acp.photo & @photofilemagazine for featuring the ‘M1’ book in the latest issue of the magazine 😃 #Repost @acp.photo with @get_repost ・・・ Issue #101 of Photofile, is now available online or in our gallery. In #101 we question the truth of the image and the obligation of the image maker and the viewer. Does the photograph allow us to observe and leave the ‘action’, the making of a difference to the photographer alone? How do we address the challenges facing our global society through a lens? The limited print run includes images by Stacy Kranitz, Raphaela Rosella, Richard Mosse, Andrew Quilty, Richard Billingham, Tony Albert, Bieke Depoorter, Ricky Adam and NOOR Collective. Head to the ACP Project Gallery at 72 Oxford Street Darlinghurst to grab your copy! . . . . #photofile #acppublications #stacykranitz #raphaelarosella #richardmosse #andrewquilty #richardbillingham #tonyalbert #biekedepoorter #rickyadam #m1 #typology #photobook #noorcollective @raphaelarosella @biekedepoorter @tonyalbert @noorimages (at M1 motorway)

RepostBy @stacykranitz: "I met Ceyonah and Kelsey on the side of the road just after I crossed over the Ohio river into West Virginia. They were walking by my favorite roadside abortion display. Both had been kicked out of their homes. Ceyonah is 14. Her father died from a heroin overdose when she was 11 and her mother told her to go kill herself before kicking her out of the house. Kelsey is 16. Her dad is in prison and her mom does not want her around. They began walking at 7am and I found them just before noon. . I remember getting kicked out of my house from the age of 11, a different set of circumstances but An integral part of my life was wandering the streets alone with a backpack on and nowhere to go. . I put them in my rental car, got them some biscuit sandwiches at Tudor's and dropped them at Ceyonah's sisters house." (via #InstaRepost @AppsKottage)

How 6 Pro Photographers Are Using Instagram Stories
With 200 million users, Instagram's Snapchat clone, Instagram Stories, has already surpassed its competition. The ephemeral platform, launched last August, lets users post photos and videos that vanish after 24 hours. They can be adorned with text, stickers and drawings to create a narrative story. While the new feature has found success among a third of all Instagram users, professional photographers have been slow to embrace Stories. These six photographers, though, tell us why they've jumped on the opportunity to share their work with that growing audience.

Seeing the Beauty in Dark Places with @stacykranitz and #MyStory
#MyStory is a series that spotlights inspiring women in the Instagram community. Join the conversation by sharing your own story. To explore more of Stacy’s photography, check out @stacykranitz on Instagram.
“#MyStory is about sidestepping the classic hero’s narrative that omits the darker, shadowy parts of our own history.” —Stacy Kranitz (@stacykranitz), Time magazine’s Instagram Photographer of the Year
“We should celebrate our lives for what they are: a complicated negotiation between good and bad, darkness and light. I’m not a person that sees the world as a beautiful, Utopian place. It’s not about overcoming great obstacles to be wonderful people; that’s not the narrative that I choose to participate in.
My job is to create genuine encounters so things unfurl and open up on both ends — for me and for the subject. When I go to communities and build relationships with people, they’re the same as relationships I build with fellow artists. I accept people for who they are, for their deep flaws, for the darkness that surrounds them, and allow that to be completely OK.”
