marv is back, and here is my second character. barry bartholomew hicks iii (he’s just as extra as his name). he’s a nurse whom has a habit of falling victim to his family issues and self-indulgences. bio below.
Name: Bartholomew ‘Barry’ Hicks III Age: 27 Hometown: Stardew Valley Occupation: Nurse Sexuality: Homosexual Interests: theater, nursing, clubbing, clothing choices, cooking, Short Bio: - Barry comes from a wealthy family who is big on real estate., but is the black sheep of the family because he never went the business route and never interested in the same with his family. He was never into football games, business talks, and the overall rude ways his family acts. - He has the type of mom that has the typical shorter hair cut, the ‘can i speak to the manager attitude,’ and gossipy type personality. His father has the rude asshole fatherish type gig. They get their religious beliefs from Catholicism from his great great grand parents who were originally from kentucky and moved to stardew valley on a business opportunity. - His parents are the owners of the jo jo mart, which barry protested because of the overall impact it could have on the town. they were the biggest investors into bringing the company and it was another rift that was caused in the family. - Barry went to college in a different state, and lived the high life where he’d been able to stay out late, be himself with boys, and not be stuck in a small town. He majored in nursing to the dismay of his parents. He wanted to be a nurse in a different place but knew that Stardew needed nurses, and the chance was one he took. - Barry is out to everyone in the town except his parents who remain ignorant and only would believe it if it came from his own mouth. He is also out to his siblings who agree to not say anything. It’s ruining him on the inside. He says that he’s still not controlled by his parents, but he truly is.
PERSONALITY: -Barry is an honest friend, one that could come off immediately as harsh and aggressive. It’s a trait that comes from his family, but it’s never anything extreme or hurtful. He’s extremely open about himself (except to his family) to mostly everyone and has his own means of caring. He is also willing to do anything to get what he wants at times (not with his job he plays by the rules) depending the situation. He’s very stubborn and it can be hard to get him to change his mind. - Barry can come off as dramatic, making situations bigger than what they actually are. He’s also a person that has a lot of family trauma that he won’t acknowledge and believes isn’t a problem because he thinks he’s over it. He’s ultimately unhappy and can’t figure out why. At nights he frequently at the bars (something he did at his old school). He has a constant stack of beer on hand at his home, and often avoids his problems by either working or spending time doing things he believes is keeping his mind off his troubles. - He’s meant to be a different character than what I’ve usually played. I’m trying to branch out. He’s not the nicest person, but he’s not the meanest. Hopefully I do a great enough job. Like this and ill also hit you up with plots for him as well. I’m down with everything!

hello, everybody! my name is emma and i play your local trash boy josiah. he’s real complicated and messy and i’m sorry if he ever offends your own babbies. you can read more about him under the read more.
general
name: josiah isaac moore age: thirty five sexuality: pansexual job: miner
i. josiah moore has lived in stardew valley his whole life. he is currently a miner and belongs in the adventurer guild. he spends his days mining away and fighting off monsters to get out his anger and frustrations. he hopes to one day leave behind this town that is filled with only bad memories for him.
ii. he comes from an incredibly abusive family, who still haunt him to this day. it has caused him to be incredibly closed off and distrustful of others. he isn’t a nice guy, and he definitely isn’t here to be your best friend. he gets into a lot of fights, and causes trouble. he’s developing his father’s terrible habit of drinking.
iii. he doesn’t know how to let go of his past, and it’s a constant burden on his shoulders. he is afraid that people will treat him just as his family did, so he doesn’t ever want to risk getting close to someone. he may have a few friends but they still haven’t knocked down all the walls that he has.
iv. at the end of the day, josiah just wants love that he had never received. he wants to belong and feel like apart of something, to be wanted and good enough.
reputation
josiah is a known troublemaker around stardew valley. he comes from a terrible family, who are also well known troublemakers. people tend to avoid him as they think nothing good could come from being around him. he starts fights quickly, and feels threatened easily.
you can find his full biography here. you can find wanted connections here. you can find info about his family here.

hey, my name is JJ and I'm going to be playing riley !! there’s some info about riley below the cut && some connection ideas. i'm looking forward to plotting with everyone, feel free hit me up !!
riley alex is 23 years old. he loves to write, draw, play music, water his plants, eat ice cream, and daydream. he has lived in stardew valley since he was 18 years old and spends his days working at buddy’s ice cream parlour, reading in the library, or wandering across the beach. he lives in a house in town with two roommates (wanted connection.)
~ history
riley spent his childhood in a small holiday village far away from the town he now calls home. at 18 years old, he packed a bag full of books and told his parents he was off on an adventure. ever since, the boy has been settled in stardew valley with an apartment full of plants and books, a job at buddy’s ice cream parlour, and a community of friends around him.
~ personality
+ curls on his head and freckles on his cheeks, riley has always been something of a sweetheart. isolated for much of his childhood, he treasures his friends above anything else, and will always be the first to bring them ice cream on a bad day or a book that reminded him of them. hand-made gifts and sweet gestures are no rarity.
- jealousy runs through his veins, however, and it is no less rare to find him sulking because his friend is spending time with somebody else. he’s very insecure in his relationships and it shines as bright as the sun at times.
regardless, riley is generally liked by all. he has a long string of failed relationships behind him, but he wears his heart on his sleeves and is eager to give it to somebody new, with little fear of whether or not it will break.
~ other things
riley spends much of his time at work and at the library, engrossing himself in a new book and organising the recently returned section. when he’s at neither of these places, he may be found venturing through the forest or walking along the beach, head in the clouds with a mind full of epic adventures and stories.
a love for reading has long since developed into a love for creating his own stories. he is not a published author by any means, but the short stories he writes and the comics he draws for the local newspaper are loved by many, and he hopes to one day venture out into the world of publishing. it isn’t rare for his friends to receive little short stories or doodles he made specially for them.
~ connection ideas
unless your character is new to town or never leaves their home, they probably know riley !! so let’s plot something out.
friendships, crushes, past or budding romances are all up for grabs. unrequited love and heartbroken exes are good. simple connections that have room to grow (a regular at his ice cream parlour, simply seeing each other around town, a friend of a friend, etc.) would also be appreciated. i like to write & develop connections naturally over time - but pre-plotted connections can be fun too!
if you’re interested in some bigger connections, his wanted connection page can be found here.
hmu on tumblr or ask for my discord if you’d like to discuss anything further! i look forward to writing with you all :)

Hi. Ozi, again. Little miss Independent, little miss obsessive… Hardworking, Active – Miss I know where I’m going. Teagan is brutally soft. She’s the kind of person who doesn’t need the company of others to feel good, but she LOVES a good story. Her favorite people are those who can consume her ego and attention. She likes to think she’s fiercely independent.
She lived in Stardew Valley her whole life. Her mum was the other of the saloon before she passed away, and now Tea is the boss. I want a few connections for her including an employee or friend who helps her with the paperwork, cause she’s horrible with numbers and it gives her a massive headache every time she had to do admin stuff. I’d love her to have a high school sweetheart, too. Someone she had pretty much every first-time with, but life separated them and now they are good friends (lingering feelings or not it’ up to you). I was her to have a good girl friend she can talk to and call whenever she’s upset about something and vice versa... and anyone who can turn her to a crazy mess would be nice, too. she doesn’t easily lose her cool. I also own the Matt Daddario fc so feel free to message me on his account if there’s anything she’s a sideblog.
here’s a lil something if you’re curious:

hey all! i'm ellie and i’ll be writing my lil sad comp sci nerd, bella! i haven’t been in the rp community for... awhile... so i apologize if i'm a little rusty. also a quick disclaimer... i’m not very knowledgeable when it comes to computer science. i’m fairly decent with html but know nOTHING when it comes to java, python and anything else. but i'm going to do my best! you can read below if you wanna get to know her a little better. i LOVE plotting so plEASE im so we can get our little babs writing together! you can also like this post and i’ll message you. i'm going to start reading everyone else intro posts now. can't wait to get to know all of you!
disclaimer: bella is very very loosely based on abigail from stardew valley. TLDR:
bella grew up primarily in stardew valley. she left the city for four years during her undergrad and graduated with a comp sci degree three years ago.
she’s a programmer ( hit her up fix your printer :-) she’ll only be somewhat annoyed. ) and doesn’t have a lot of professional experience. this basically means she’s a little worker monkey for software developers.
she has depression but he refuses to acknowledge it.
she’s pretty pessimistic and definitely isn't the easiest to get along with it. 54% of the time she’s sad. 54% of the time she’s angry and about 2% of the time she’s content.
MORE INFO:
bella was born to carol & philip romana in the city.
bella’s mother and father separated when she was just five years old.
bella father is CTO ( chief of technology ) of an oil & gas company in the city and after a three year affair her mother eventually learned that her father’s business trips were actually visits to see his second family, his girlfriend and the child they now had together.
bella’s parents tried to work things out but after 6 short months bella and her mother left. they moved back in with bella’s widowed grandmother in stardew valley.
despite having an empty resume since her wedding day, bella’s mother managed to get a job at jojomarket.
rather than being educated by the local tutor, bella was home schooled online. despite being primarily raised in the valley she felt like an outsider. she hated the small town she was bound to.
despite only living an hour away, bella didn’t have much contact with her father. he was always consistent when it came to material things though and never once did he forget to send her a gift for christmas or her birthday. sadly, no card was to be found in the wrapping paper and honestly, all bella wanted to read was an “i love you” from her father.
fitting to a CTO, many of these gifts were the latest tech and this what began her deep interest in coding.
bella has always blamed her father’s leaving for the reason her personality is so sad. she hates her father. sadly, she and her father are eerily similar. though she will never know this.
when bella was eighteen years old she left stardew valley for the first time since her childhood. the reason for this departure? university.
bella attended university in the city and majored in computer science. her education was paid for by her estranged father.
in the city she lived with five roommates in a home that was meant to hold only three.
after just her first year of university, bella had planned on staying in the city. sure, living in the city was expensive even with five roommates but her naivety and greed for more than just a small town life outweighed the reality of her situation.
only a few days after celebrating the completion of her last class. her grandmother passed.
bella had known that her grandmother was sick but the death crept up on the small family and left her mother distraught. unable to handle the pain bella’s mother decided she would stay in the city for a couple weeks with a friend and bella would stay in stardew valley to look over the house. a funeral would be held once her mother was in a better place.
months went by and bella started to realize how much she enjoyed the independence of living alone. no roommates. no family. alone.
finally, a funeral was held. it was a small service and considering her grandmother was only survived by a single child and was not close with her other family members it was mainly towns people that came to say their goodbyes.
after the funeral bella’s mother told her that she would not be returning to stardew valley and gave her two choices: bella could move back to the city if she so chose or she could stay in stardew valley, rent free and they would sell her grandmothers home at a later date.
bella chose the ladder. she told herself that she would only be staying in stardew valley for a year at the most but three years have now passed and she still lives rent free in the home of her late grandmother. her four walls feel deafening lonely but the fear of failing in the city are keeping her from making the big move.
since bella was a child her mother had been her best friend. bella’s mother is currently rebuilding her life in the city and due to this has been very busy over the past few years. bella hasn’t spoken to her mother in half a year and the last time they spoke they got into a fight over cardboard boxes.
currently bella is working as a freelance programmer and building up her portfolio. she hates stardew valley. she wants more. but she can’t work up the courage to be brave and achieve it.
for work bella mainly writes codes for apps that will inventible fail and accidentally spends a lot of time helping out the other towns people with mundane tech problems.
due to bella’s shy nature and sorrow filled soul, she doesn’t have many friends and is seen as quite pessimistic when compared to others.
after the death of her grandmother and the quick departure of her mother bella has developed major depressive disorder. actually, her lack of courage to move on from stardew valley has nothing to do with courage at all. her depression has left with a lack of motivation and is also the reason she spends most of her time indoors either playing games, listening to music or studying code.
bella is anything but self aware and hasn’t realized she’s her depression is more than just her personality. it’s a mental illness. being a crestfallen individual she passes her sorrow off as just being a part of who she is.

Hi, babes! I’m Syd, and this is Johnny. I’m still getting all nit-picky with finalizing the theme and stuff, but I’m throwing this up now, and I’ll keep working on a biography page and all that good stuff.
Johnathan Gavalas || twenty-six || cis male || he/him || fisherman || Michael Vlamis
Johnny went into the fishing trade because that was what was expected of him. His father worked with fish, as did his father, and his father before him, and so on. His family has been in Stardew Valley for as long as anyone can remember—a fact his father likes to remind him of very frequently.
Johnny hates staying in Stardew Valley. It's not that he hates the valley itself as much as, as he's put it, not wanting to die in a dead-end town, working the same job that's been passed through his family for generations, without having seen anything of the outside world. But between pressure to support his family, and a lack of money to his name to put into savings, his future outside of the valley is looking rather bleak.
Most days find Johnny either fishing or manning the shop, while his nights are often spent in the saloon, nursing a beer and maybe avoiding his parents.
He can be coaxed into doing handyman-type work—namely of the leaking faucets and water heater issues variety, maybe a busted AC unit, if he has an extended period of time to figure it out—by neighbors, especially if said coaxing is done with food. (He’ll claim the work is only an occasional thing, but year after year sees him making his rounds of the village’s old properties.)
He spends a lot of his downtime down by the beach. He loves the ocean, and his dream is to own his own boat and sail across the world.
A majority of his friends are the people he grew up with, followed by some of the extroverts who've moved to town and made an effort to get to know him, as he isn't big on going out of his way to meet new people.
#stardewintro#are we doing readmores? nah?#who knows i don't#i'll figure out tagging and stuff#a proper group is a brand new experience for me but i promise i'll get there <3

hi, friends !! i’m stevie, i go by she/her pronouns and i’m in the mdt timezone. i’m very shy and very slow at getting to things, my super late intro attesting to the fact. bUT i’m so excited to be here and meet and rp w/ you all !! you can read about my soft flower boy beneath the cut. pls don’t be afraid to hmu for plots, like this and i’ll message you ♡
born and raised in stardew valley, a lot of freddie’s life was spent outdoors. having quite a green thumb from a young age, he was always in between his parents’ and grandparents’, helping out with their gardens.
known for being very friendly to the villagers in town; a very laid back and kindly attitude that allows him to get along well with most of his peers.
left town when he was eighteen, on a whim to see more and explore. his family wasn’t entirely in approval, but allowed him to do so because it was what he wanted.
along the way, he got caught up in a mess involving blackmail, in which threatened his life. after a prolonged time of tussles and locked horns, he ran from it, not looking back once.
returned to the valley when he was twenty, having been back for around a year. settled back into the comfort of what would always be home, and taking up a job with stardew floral.
his personality underwent obvious changes from then to now, coming from what he experienced while he was gone. previously outgoing and carefree, freddie is now more quiet and reticent, yet still works towards making a positive difference in the valley.
WANTED CONNECTIONS:
anything and everything !! friends, best friends, exes, flings, someone who might have known/met him while he was away from the valley, confidants, someone he doesn’t get along with for whatever reason, anything you can think of !!
this is terrible and way too short because i’m trash dhgdhsf pls come love me and my gentle timid freddie thank u for reading x

Jared Sommers || 29 || agender || they/them || bartender at the stardrop saloon || jeremy allen white
Hello! I’m Jake and I just realised I gave my character a name that’s just way too similar to my own. Sorry about that I guess? Anyway, let me introduce you to this boy:
Moved to Stardew from the city a little over a year ago, needing a change of scenery. They keep the exact circumstances for their move close to their chest for now, but they're not exactly jumping on the bus every weekend to visit old acquaintances.
Being a mixologist, it seemed natural to apply for the open position at the Stardrop Saloon, where they've been working since just a few months after moving to town. Eventually, they're hoping to help out in the kitchen as well.
Usually they'll just get some food from work for dinner, lunch is leftovers. They've never had to make their own food before, so life in a small town is showing itself to be a challenge on that front. But they've learned how to make mac and cheese, so hey, there's that!
Normally wears either long sleeved shirts, or lots of jewellery and decorations on their arms. Generally speaking they like to dress brightly and accessorise a lot, but if you pay attention there's definitely a focus on the wrist area. They're not ready to talk about it yet.
Trust doesn't come easily to them, though they do their best to treat others nicely, especially at work. It's just that they keep to themself a lot when not on the clock, and tend to wiggle out of conversation when it gets too personal. They especially don't like to talk about their family.
TW: self-harm, suicide, depression, gender discrimination (mild, but to be safe)
The reason they don't like to talk about their past, and the reason they've moved to Stardew in the first place, is that Jared needed a new start, after having attempted to end their own life. There was a lot of pressure growing up, and coming out as nb wasn't exactly met with positivity. They have a lot of baggage, but they just want to forget it all and make a new life out here in the countryside. But, old habits die hard, especially when you let your depression go untreated.
Open to any and all connections for him!! Bear in mind he’s only been here for about a year though, but maybe some of the other characters who moved there from the city know him previously? Idk come at me with anything you’ve got, my messages are always open!

Hello, all! I am Dani and I will be playing Charlotte “Charlie” King. I hail from CST (Chicagoland area), work full time, and then have a side hustle with art! Roleplaying is a really nice break from all the work I do. I love plotting and writing so never be afraid to reach out with any ideas you may have!
charlotte king
27
demisexual cis-female (she/her)
single mother to a lovely 4 year old (if she does say so herself)
baker at rosie's pastries
When she was younger, Charlie never saw herself as a small-town girl. Stardew Valley felt stifling and the lure of the big city was too strong and when she graduated high school, she left for one. It came as a surprise at how wrong she was. Cities felt too impersonal. Too busy. Charlie found herself missing home. She wonders sometimes if that's why she fell in love with who she did.
During her time in college, she fell in love with another Stardew Valley resident who had moved to the city as well. He felt like home and they stayed together during her time in college and for a few years after graduation. Not too much longer after her twenty-third birthday, Charlie found out she was pregnant. Unfortunately it drove them apart and made them realize their differences. One of which was Charlie was ready to be a parent and he wasn't.
Charlie's daughter was born in Stardew Valley after she realized that she had been holding onto part of hometown in the form of her ex. Being back in Stardew valley was refreshing and dropped the stress from her life. Once bitter to be there, now she was delighted.
Quickly she picked up a position as a baker at Rosie's Pastries. Cooking had always been a passion, but specifically baking. She loved pastries in particular and creating intricate designs with the dough. She had gone to school for it even so she was pleased to find that a position had been open when she returned.
Charlie had always been quick-witted and patient. Though during her 'the grass is greener on the other side' phase before she moved away, admittedly her patience was wearing thin with the small town. She loved her friends and family, but she'd seemed unsatisfied. When she returned pregnant, she returned happier and more settled. Some understood, others wondered how her tune could change. Still, those who test her patience and kindness, or take advantage of her friends, will see a sharper side of her that since her time in the city has only gotten sharper.
Though separated, Charlie feels no animosity towards her ex and spends time even with her ex's family so they can spend time with the new addition to their family as well. Her ex is still in the city and content with being outside of Charlie's son's life, though his family is taken with him and often will babysit or join and/or invite Charlie and the little boy for holidays.

what up. it’s ya gurl, meg, and I’m so excited 2 be here !!
I just got home from work and rushing to play catch up on all ur intro posts, so !! I’ll just be pasting my app in here and giving y’all more info later. but rly -- all I’m looking for is ploTS so hmu or like this post and I will slide into ur messages !! ok, here’s sam.
samuel moreno || 24 || cis male || he/him || worker - jojo mart || alberto rosende
- sam was born and raised in stardew valley, with his single mother and little sister (who I won’t name or age yet, as I’m considering her for a wanted connection?). his father had never really been in the picture, so he never mourned that loss. he had a fairly comfortable childhood - his mom always made sure the kids had what they needed to survive, and there was never any pressure to be more than that. growing up in a small town was simple for the family - easy. but that also meant that there was very little excitement in sam’s life. he never blamed his mother for this, but there was a feeling of resentment aimed towards the town itself. he felt as though he were being held back, but not quite sure of what. - every season, his mother would take them to the city to refresh their wardrobes and stock up on anything they’d need that wasn’t available to them in town. sam would live for these trips - marked it on his calendar with a big red circle and would be the first to wake up for the day, aching for an adventure. these would serve as an escape from the dull small town he’d become used to, and a countdown to the day he’d be able to leave for good. he never really had a plan on where to go, exactly, but those red circles would keep him going - just knowing that there was more out there for him. - his plans changed when his mom unexpectedly passed away weeks after his eighteenth birthday, just one red circle away from his move-out date. this left him and his sister alone - and naturally, he took it upon himself to care for the both of them. they’d been left their childhood home and enough money to sustain themselves for a good while, but soon the bills started coming in and sam became desperate; he would have to find a job in the already sparse options that town provided, or leave. - though he’d been tempted to move (after all, it was his dream), he couldn’t bear to uproot his sister’s life and start fresh - not to mention the task of selling their home, where they’d grown up. it wasn’t quite the dream he’d imagined. and so when jojomart began advertising for jobs, he bit the bullet and applied - knowing well that he’d absolutely hate himself if he got the job, and hate himself if he didn’t. - now, sam works full-time at jojomart and is a star employee. he knows he’s got what it takes to move up in the company, but he sure as hell doesn’t want to. he’s content to take home a paycheque every two weeks and reap the benefits of working for the corporation, but he’ll never be proud of how hard he’s worked out of respect for the town. he recognizes that it isn’t good; however, it’s a constant battle between the need to make money and the desire for something more fulfilling. he does have a plan, once again, to someday get out and make something for himself (and his sister), but for now he needs to play the corporate game. - personality-wise, he’s definitely too caring to those close to him, but closed off to many others - at this point, he feels his only connection to the town is his sister and the few friends he’s made throughout the years. his life is an endless cycle of work-sleep-work and very little else, though he (or rather, his sister) is forcing himself to find something more fulfilling to do with his time, leading to his increasing involvement in town activities and events.

ali here with another quick intro for my second character, ren! feel free to message me for plots and such!! i’ll post some wanted connections tomorrow or something like that, but you can check out her pinterest board here in the meantime & let’s get plotting!
— basics;;
NAME : florencia sofia silva ALIAS ( NICKNAMES ) : ren AGE : 26 SEXUAL ORIENTATION : pansexual GENDER IDENTITY : cis-female SPOKEN LANGUAGES : english, spanish JOB : employee at lavender boutique FAMILY : carlos silva (father, whereabouts unknown), maria silva (mother, whereabouts unknown), abigail silva (aunt/adoptive mother, deceased), alexandra silva (daughter) PETS : n/a POSITIVE TRAITS : hardworking, honest, charming, compassionate, pragmatic NEGATIVE TRAITS : blunt, sarcastic, lonely, cynical, moody
background
trigger warning : parental abandonment, cancer & death mentions
A child was just another checkmark on an invisible list that made a so-called successful life, that much she knew from an early age. Ren’s parents were an archaeologist and professor team who were always off on some new adventure to discover relics from a time long since past. It wasn’t that she was an unwelcome distraction to their work, not exactly; but she was more of a mostly invisible accessory to what many would consider a lovely life. When they were home, they certainly acted like the parents all her friends had. They were loving and funny, doting on their little girl. And when they weren’t there, there were no video calls or emails. No contact at all. It was almost as if they had just been a dream Ren had invented. As she grew up, the time they weren’t there gradually became far more than the time they were there.
She spent her formative years across the sea, mainly being raised by an aunt who traveled back and forth from the valley to take care of her when her parents were away for long periods of time. Eventually, Ren’s aunt became sick of the travel and how it was affecting her job and insisted they make a decision: either stay home for their daughter, or send her to live with the only parent she had ever known. They chose the first option, not that Ren expected anything different; they were nothing if not completely dedicated to their work. She was packed up within a week and off on a new adventure, she liked to tell herself. Just like her parents, she was destined to explore the world.
Life with her aunt was nothing like she thought it would be. It wasn’t full of the instability her life had been before. There was always someone there making sure she had a good dinner and did her homework every night. Her aunt became a mother and father to Ren, and she wouldn’t have had it any other way. Her aunt was much better at being a parents than her own parents. She offered her the guidance and support that Ren needed to grow up to become a semi-functioning human being. Though she occasionally heard from her parents, she knew that they didn’t need her anymore just like she didn’t need them. Not when she had Aunt Abby. She spent the next decade of her life growing up in a small town who was more concerned with who was divorcing whom than anything else. Maybe it wasn’t quite the exciting life Ren had expected, but it was a good life. One she was more than happy with. Though no one would have ever called her the perfect child (she was far too reckless for that), Ren wasn’t much of a troublemaker either. Everything in her life seemed to be going the exact way she’d always dreamed it would.
Of course, then it took quite the turn, though Ren would never say it was for the worst. She was a senior in high school, scholarship already in place, when she discovered she was pregnant. It was almost laughable to her, how predictable it was to be the pregnant girl whose life was changed forever. But it was. And she wouldn’t have it any other way. She’d always assumed she would follow in her parent’s footsteps (minus the abandonment, of course) to find some adventure that would give her the attention she so desperately needed, but instead she found herself a young mother who couldn’t bear to leave her child behind even if it meant never living the life she’d always wanted.
Instead, Ren took some time off to raise her young daughter and work part-time as much as she could. She finally felt like she could maybe handle everything that was going on in her life when her aunt was diagnosed with cancer. The three of them (Ren, her aunt, and her daughter, Lexi) moved to the city for treatment at one of the best hospitals, but her aunt passed a year later. Ren lost her job in the city and was forced to sell the home they’d bought in the city to pay off the bills that her aunt’s insurance policy wasn’t able to cover. In the few years since then, she’s slowly picked herself back up. She’s moved back into the small house her aunt once owned (and the one Ren nearly lost in paying the medical bills), travelling twice a week to the college in the city and working at the local boutique. It’s difficult, but at least she and her daughter are happy and healthy. What more could a girl ask for?
