Well the secret to what works is the action you take that you haven’t tried before. Why...because you don’t believe you need to change..why? Ego?That is the mindset that has you stuck. To influence change in your children the parent must be the first to take action. It is hard, it is a lot of work, it is getting honest with your own shit and most parents are afraid of the truth. Hello from a Part Time Step Mom!

I’ve decided to start this blog because I’ve recently become a step mom to three beautiful boys.  

My story starts about a year ago when I fell in love with my partner.  I know this is cliche, but he was everything that I wanted in a partner. Strong (but not too strong), supportive (just the right amount) and loving (sometimes more than I can handle).  

I never wanted to have children and now? Now, I was entering into a relationship with a man with three kids and not only that, an ex-wife too.  

I was living by myself in a 1400 sq. foot townhouse with three bedrooms, 2.5 baths and my dog in BC. He was living in a 1800 sq. foot house with his boys, 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths and his three boys (50% of the time) in Saskatchewan.  When we decided that long distance love wasn’t for us anymore, we decided that I would move to Saskatchewan and after a few years, we would move back to BC.  

When I relocated to Saskatchewan to be with him, he sold the house that he owned with his ex wife and we moved into a 900 sq. foot apartment with 3 bedrooms, 1 bath, 3 kids (50% of the time) and my dog. Talk about  massive change!

It’s been about 5 months and I’ve had some triumphs and stresses with this change and I thought it would be a good idea for me to start documenting these moments for me to reflect on in the future and who knows? Maybe help someone else that may be in the same shoes as me!
