how about: stina, your shared bedroom, & “i didn’t know i could love someone as much as i love you”
My Sleepy Girl
Stina Blackstenius x fem!reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Stina watches as you stifle your yawn for the tenth time that night. You continue to watch the movie in front of you with your head resting on your wife’s shoulder, pretending that you’re into the film when you’re realistically just trying to keep your eyes open.
The past few weeks have been exhausting from traveling back to Sweden for euro qualifications and then back to England to get ready for the game against Bristol City. The two of you have barely gotten breaks, including your first off day which was today.
With your jobs taking up so much time, you both wanted to go out and get all the things you needed done right away which turned out to be a lot of things.
You still wanted to spend a little time tonight with your wife so you offered to watch the movie Stina has been begging to see. You didn’t realize you were so tired until your eyes began to feel heavy and the screen started to become blurry.
“Älskling, let’s get you to bed.” Stina finally gives in, having watched you accidentally doze off for a minute. You quickly sit up and fix your posture so you don’t look so slumped.
“No. You’ve been wanting to watch this so we’re finally going to sit down and watch this movie.” You say determinedly, blinking your eyes a few times to adjust them.
“But you’re tired, min kärlek. You need to sleep.”
“I am not tired. See, my eyes are wide open.” The blonde rolls her eyes seeing you staring at her with a piercing gaze. She wraps her arm around your shoulder and pulls you back into her in a soft embrace.
“Whatever you say.”
Not even 10 minutes later your soft snores can be heard as your head is laying on your wife’s shoulder. Stina looks down at you with an adoring smile, watching your nose slightly twitch as you peacefully sleep.
She gently slips out from under you and moves to pick you up so she can take you to bed. You sleepily hug onto her body like a koala and allow her to walk you into the comfort of your guy’s room.
“But we didn’t finish the movie.” You mumble softly while your wife places you onto the soft sheets of your shared bed. The tall girl smiles and places a sweet kiss on your forehead, making you hum in joy.
“Don’t worry about it, solsken. We can always finish it another day.” She whispers, watching you get curled up into a little ball and snuggle up into the blankets.
Once Stina slips in next to you, you drift over close to her. So close the tips of your noses touch.
“I’m sorry about the movie.” You whisper, breaking the comfortable silence. Stina’s soft hand reaches over and brushes your hair behind your ear, soothing you even more into slumber.
“I didn’t know I could love someone as much as I love you.” She murmurs as her eyes trace over every freckle and beauty mark on your exposed skin.
You lazily smile at her with your eyes still closed before nuzzling your face into her chest while wrapping your arms around her comfy form. Stina sighs in bliss as she rubs your back up and down before slowly drifting off along with you.
Stina never knew love could be as powerful as it is until she met you.

Leah Williamson x Reader x Arsenal Women.
word count : 2.8k
this was meant to be a blurb but oh well
warnings : mentions of death, swearing, it's kinda sweet...?
“While we have valued your skill addition to the team, we cannot find any reason to retain you and that it why we are terminating your contract, effective immediately; other teams will bid for your purchase by the end of the month.”
That was the last thing that you heard until you stopped listening. The room began to feel small. It was spinning, your head just immediately began to throb. Combined with the need to throw up was the cherry on top. You blinked at your agent, who was stone-faced but determined to fight for you, in a plea to let you leave. He nodded and leaned in to talk to you. “Go, kiddo. Find the girls, I’ll sort this out.”
You scramble out of the room, not caring what the board thinks. You run; fast. Tears are cascading down your face, hot and frustrated ones. Your legs knew where to run, where to find your beloved girls.
//
19 and fresh out of your first senior Lionesses call up, was a day you didn’t think would come. You were on the plane back home from the 2023 World Cup a little gloomy; a text from Leah changed the whole day around for you. It was a simple one, curt and just what you expected from the North London girl.
“Welcome to Arsenal.”
You were playing for Brighton Albion right now, while you loved it there, Arsenal was your well-known dream. Going through the academy was the best thing that ever happened to you but when you didn’t get moved up to the first team and instead bought by Brighton, you immediately made it known that if ever they were interested, you’d even transfer for free (your agent did NOT like that.)
The girls cheered and clapped, celebrations were in order for the youngest Lioness. They popped champagne (you sneaked a flute, Alessia winked at you), food was eaten with more enthusiasm.
When you stepped on that pitch for the first time as part of the First Team, you cried. Leah made fun of you for a week but you didn’t care. Your dream was now your reality. You made it. Your parents passed away when you were 14 from a car accident, they were both die hard Arsenal fans, it was your fathers dream to see you in an Arsenal shirt with your last name on the back. You were at this facility that day, that day was the hardest day of your life. Today came a close second.
//
“I’m sorry daddy.” You whisper, fresh tears pricking in your eyes. You push open the changing room door and walk in, the girls immediately quieten down when they see your tear-stained face.
“You’ve only been gone a half hour, you miss us that much?” Leah jumps up enthusiastically and walks over to you to pull you into the changing room.
“Leah, shut up. What’s wrong, kleintje?” Viv asks, pulling you into her arms. Everyone’s mood changes when they realize they’re sad tears.
“They’re getting rid of me.” You say quietly, muffled into Viv’s chest. She kisses the top of your head, rare affection from the Dutchwoman, before pulling your head away from her chest.
“Say again for me love?”
“They’re selling me, they fired me.”
“They can’t do that.”
“They just did.”
You’re crying again, now passed to Beth’s arms as Viv, Leah, Alessia, Katie, Lotte and Stina begin to march out of the room angrily. You beg them not to, crumbling to your knees.
“Please, you shouldn't have to fight for me. They’re just throwing me away…I-I thought I was good enough to b-be on the team! Like a fucking whore, sold to the highest bidder!” you’re heaving, their eyes soften and they rush to you; Leah getting to you first. She kneels before you and pulls you into her arms, cradling your crying head against her chest.
“Hey, stop that. They’re not selling you, we will make sure of it. They can’t, not like this.”
“What if you can’t? What if you can’t stop them?”
“We never play football again, darling. It’s that simple.” Piped in Alessia, anger seething behind her eyes.
“I couldn’t make you all do that.”
“Watch us. Every single one of us. I might bleed North London but no one treats my family this way. You’re our baby, no one messes with this family.” Leah said, everyone in the room nodding their heads in agreement.
“What did your agent say, darlin’?” asked Katie, coming up beside you to rub your back just as your agent walked in.
“You can ask him.”
“Cut the shit, Tony. What did they say?” Leah pounced on him, he only shook his head slowly.
“I told them that the transfer window was long closed. Turns out that that doesn’t really matter when you fire a player; they’re just sold like any other player that can be sold. I know you girls are mad for her; please don’t do anything stupid like all quit football altogether.”
“How the hell did you figure that out?”
“I’m an agent for a reason. I’m also her guardian, I know you lot well enough to know you’d do something like that for my Y/N.”
“Why the fuck are they selling our best forward then?”
“I don’t know. I’ll be damned if I don’t find out.” He walked over to you, the girls help you stand.
“I will not stop until I find out why, kiddo. I promised your father I would take care of you, I intend to do that. Do you trust me?”
“With my life, Tones.”
“Atta girl, I know you’ll be in good hands with these girls. I’m sorry, but training will have to be at home till I can find out why you’re out of a fucking job. I love you, Martha wants you over for dinner on Saturday; bring her some of your cookies will you? You lot are invited if you’re interested.” he kisses your forehead and walks out of the room, already calling people on the phone.
“Come on baby, let’s get you home.” Beth cooed, Viv immediately grabbing all your things from your cubby.
“Pack her a bag and take her to mine, she stays with me till this is over.” Leah tells the two, they nod and usher you out before you can make any form of protest.
The drive to your apartment was a quiet one, Beth sat in the back with you while Viv drove. You could tell she was mad, her jaw clenched as she was mumbling under her breath. You reached over an arm and grasped her shoulder, she visibly relaxed and looked at you through the rear-view mirror.
“We’ll figure this out, lieveling. Don’t you worry.”
//
Arsenal Women look to sell Y/N L/N to the highest bidder in a sudden dropping of her from the squad. Teams like Manchester United and Bayern Munich are among those highly interested in the prodigy forward from North London.
//
“Hi angel, the guest room is all set for ya. You’re welcome in my bed if you’d rather; fair warning, I am a snorer.” Leah winked at you, helping you take your bags into the house.
“I know you do, Kiera told me at camp one time.”
“That sneaky woman. I’ll be having a word with her, pet. Come on in, make yourself at home. The rest of the girls are on the balcony, they really invited themselves over you know; how rude, coming into our home like that!”
Our home, she said. You really didn’t need to worry with these girls, they’ve got your back.
//
Leah had to drag you to training although technically you couldn’t participate. It made your heart ache, being there but not being able to play. Jonas shot you a sorry look, allowing you to steal a football and kick it around on your own. The girls were all feeling sorry for you, one of them always coming over to check on you each hour.
Lotte walked over after their 6 a side scrimmage, spraying you with her water bottle before you shot up and chased her around the pitch.
You finally caught her, cursing her long legs. She merely side hugged you, kissing your warm, sweaty forehead.
“That take your mind off things for a bit, little bit?” she asked, her choice in nickname made you smile.
“It did, thanks Lotte.” You lean into her and say, both of you watching Katie spray her water bottle at Beth and before you knew it everyone was doing the same. It made you heartily laugh, all the girls more than happy to get their shirts soaked if it meant little bit was smiling for just a little bit.
//
“I’m afraid I can’t let you in here, Ms. L/N.”
“She’s with me, Ben.”
“I’m sorry Leah, she can’t be on the training pitch. Boss’ orders.”
“Well, she’s coming with me and we’re going to see about that. Come, Y/N.”
You trail behind Leah as she walks with determination to Jonas’ office. He’s in a meeting, she simply does not care.
“I’d like to know why she can’t come to the training ground and whose idea was it to do so.”
“It came from upstairs Leah, it was on my table this morning. I’m sorry.”
“You didn’t even try to do anything about it? She’s still a part of this team!”
“I’m sorry Leah, she isn’t. She can’t be here.”
“Go downstairs and put your boots on, Y/N. Un-FUCKING-believable.”
“Leah, I’ll just get an Uber and g–”
“I said, go downstairs and put your fucking boots on. Now.”
You walk out of the room and do as she says. She comes back out to the pitch 20 minutes later with huge smile on her face, winking at you.
“All sorted darling, nothing to worry about. Sorry if I scared you.”
You run and hug her, she merely smiles wider and kisses your head.
“Thank you Leah,” you whisper, only meant for her to hear.
“Anything for you, my love.”
//
“What are we feeling for dinner, darling?” Beth called as you were sitting in their living room playing Fifa.
“I don’t care, but a pizza sounds fucking delicious right now.”
“Language! Leah is a horrendous influence on you. Sausage and banana peppers?”
“Sorry, mum. Yes please.”
Beth walked in and rolled her eyes, picking up the takeaway menu stack near the tv.
“What is this that I hear that I’m a bad influence?”
“Leah!” you yelled, jumping up from the couch and jumping into her arms. You had grown quite attached to the older woman, her fierce protective nature from the start of your journey of international football along with the move to Arsenal had made you fall in love with her. It was a secret you were willing to take to the grave if you got to enjoy her and not risk losing her.
It had more to do with the age gap, it wasn’t monstrously large but it would turn heads either way with you being a teenager still. You turn twenty in less than a week anyway, maybe if you could muster up the courage you’d tell her.
“Hello, pea. Beth bullying ya?”
“No, she said my swearing is because of you. But we’re getting pizza!”
“That sounds lovely, angel. I love pizza, pizza loves me. Wanna see if you can beat me at a game while we wait?” she says, pointing to the paused football match on the tv.
“What’s in it for me?” you tell her cheekily, grabbing a second controller for her.
“You’ll have to beat me to find out, doll.”
Viv walked in, standing with Beth as they watched the two of you playing.
“So, who’s gonna tell them?” Viv asks bluntly.
“They’re right knobheads the pair of them. It could be written on their foreheads and they’d miss it.”
//
You were more than happy to have a little cake and a song for your birthday. Years without parents who died around your birthday made it a sore subject. Tony and Martha made it better though, both of them really did try their best to make sure you were well cared for and for that you were forever grateful. No one texted you all day though, you’ll be honest, it made you a little sadder. You were just about order some takeout when Leah walked into the house with balloons, cake, the girls, and much more. Katie led the chorus for ‘Happy Birthday’ so offkey you were sure your ears were genuinely bleeding. She pulled a party hat on your head and kissed your forehead, holding your face in her hands and she whispered, “Happy Birthday, little bit.”
You were crying, touched by their kind gesture. Only Leah knew the extent of why birthdays were a little sore for you, a proud smile on her face as the rest of the girls busied themselves with laying out the food and putting the decorations up. She smiled at you, eyes full of love like you were the only one in the room.
She walked up to you with the cake as Stina lit the candle, her bright smile on her face.
“Make a wish, pretty girl.” She said, you closed your eyes and made your wish. You blew out the candle; the cake was handed off to Viv.
She pulled you into her arms, kissing your nose. She had that same look of pure adoration on her face; you were scared of asking the question itching on the tip of your tongue. Luckily, Leah asked it for you.
“Happy birthday, special girl. Can I take you out on a date sometime?”
“You have no idea how long I’ve been wanting to ask you that.”
“No time like the present, kiddo.”
She leaned in and kissed you softly, your lips molding perfectly to hers. The room cheered loudly, Beth yelling at the top of her lungs while Viv looked like a proud parent.
//
“Did your uncle ever mention that he was suing the guy who got into that accident with your parents?”
“No, I thought they didn’t know who it was.”
“Well, they do. He knows you too.”
“How the hell could he know me.”
“He’s the scumbag who hired you then fired you.”
“What are you saying, Tones?”
“When the lawsuit came in and the names were revealed he realized that someone leaked the information he tried so hard to keep buried and your name was in there. He thought you figured it out and were coming after him through your uncle. So, he fired you. Probably thought that would send a clear message that he could ruin you.”
“Tony, this is a lot to take in.”
“I know, kid. You leave it to me, you hear? Especially leave your new girlfriend out of it. She’s great but fucking scary.”
“Tony, it’s on speaker!”
“I know where you sleep Tony.” Leah supplied happily.
“Shit. Please kid, between the two of you only yeah? I love you.”
“I love you too, Tones. Send Martha my love.”
“Sure thing. Be safe, please?”
Click.
“What the hell am I going to do, Lee?”
“We’re gonna fight baby. Every single one of us. We got ya.”
“Tony literally just told you, you couldn’t kill the guy.”
“I will if I have to, you’re my girl now. You’ve always been my girl but now circumstances have changed. I know a guy who knows a guy; I’ll do it with my bare hands if I had to.”
“Tony was right, you are mad scary.”
//
Arsenal Board member sentenced to 10 years in prison for countless charges. The Plaintiff, Y/N L/N was rewarded with an undisclosed settlement for damages that caused the death of her parents 6 years ago, which turned out to be a massive coverup. Her position as forward on the Arsenal Women’s team had been reinstated effective immediately.
//
“We did it, little bit.” Lotte hugged you, the rest of the girls filtering into your home. Okay, it was Leah’s and she did just ask you to move in with her but it was nice to have someone to share a home with.
“I’m so proud of you, kid.” said Katie.
“You’re stronger than you look, Y/N/N.” said Stina.
“I have pictures of you on the stand!” said Alessia.
Their words were drowned out by the sound of a certain blonde and blue eyed, Milton Keynes accented, Lioness captain that was praising you.
“You did perfectly today, pea.”
“Thanks Lee. I couldn’t have done it without you. All of you.” You turn and face all the girls and continue.
“Without you all, I don’t think I would have been able to get through the past few weeks. You’ve all shown me what real family looks like and I can’t thank you enough. I love you all from the bottom of my heart.” You were crying, wiping away tears before Alessia yelled “Group hug!” and you were wrapped up in many arms.
Once they let go, Leah came up behind you and kissed your cheek. You lean back into her, rubbing her strong arms that were around you.
“Thank you Leah, for everything.”
“Anything for you, my love.”

merry christmas eve besties under the mistletoe II s.blackstenius x reader
"oh they decorated!" you noticed right away as you wandered into colney for training, amanda by your side having driven you as the two of you often took turns since you lived in the same complex.
"ha! that is going to be fun." amanda nudged you and pointed to the random tufts of fake mistletoe hung up around as you both made your way to the changing rooms, music already pumping away in the distance.
"oh if you wanted a kiss why didn't you say!" you teased, kissing her cheek as she pushed you away with a roll of her eyes, having adopted an older sister role of sorts since you'd both moved to arsenal this season.
of course you were already welcomed in by your fellow national team mates, grateful to know some of the team on your first day as lina and stina both wasted no time showing the two of you around and making sure you settled in.
stina in particular you'd always been quite fond of, the two of you often spending time together on national duty you were hopeful that it might continue to build into something a little more than friends now you both played for arsenal.
you'd liked her for a couple of years now, more of a silly little crush than anything else that you always assumed was one way. well you did, until the world cup.
you were all out as a team celebrating your bronze medals when stina had pulled you away from the group claiming she didn't want to go to the toilet by herself, only within seconds of the two of you having a moment alone her lips were on yours.
the kiss was messy to say the least with both your bloodstreams pumped full of alcohol, though you never got a chance to see where it might have lead as a very drunk frido stumbled around the corner and crashed into the two of you, stina practically running away the moment she did leaving you to look after frido and with a head a mess of thoughts.
you'd waited to see if she'd bring up the kiss, she never did.
afraid she was just too drunk to remember or worse she'd purposefully chosen to forget, you kept it to yourself and remained grateful it didn't change how the blonde acted around you.
especially now at the same club you found yourself spending even more time with her, though rarely one on one it was generally in a group setting she still gravitated to your side, pairing up for drills and sitting beside you most chances she could.
if you didn't know any better you'd swear sometimes she flirted with you, showering you with praise and compliments followed by an awkward little smile or hug before she'd race away and leave you wondering if maybe she did remember the kiss.
then reality would sink in and you'd remind yourself that this was just how stina was, how she'd always be and that just friends seemed to be your destined fate together.
hearing your phone start to ring you nodded for amanda to enter the changing room as you speed walked a little more out of earshot of the music pumping from inside as you clicked accept and moved it to your ear.
"Vännen!" you smiled hearing the familiar accent ring through the phone. "hello frido." you chuckled, dumping your bag by your feet and leaning your back against the wall behind you.
"hello frido. god you sound so english!" the woman gagged making you laugh and curse at her in swedish. "sorry should i have said it in spanish? hola puta!" you teased as she clicked her tongue at you and you could only imagine the way her eyes would be rolling on the other end of the line.
"i'll be having alexia speak with laia if she's going to continue to teach you only bad words in spanish!" the blonde warned jokingly though you really wouldn't put it past her to do so. "how is the knee Gumman?" you smirked as she swore at you with a huff for the nickname meaning old woman.
"still attached to my leg, we are getting there. very slowly!" frido sighed as you frowned sympathetically, having been looked after by the older girl ever since you'd joined the national team years ago you cared for her very deeply so to know she was unable to play at the moment was painful.
"how is your crush on stina?" your sympathy melted away at her teasing tone. "she is so confusing, it kills me!" you groaned, looking around to make sure you were alone as frido prompted you to elaborate.
"when it is just us she is so sweet. always getting things for me like my food or my bag or my boots, pulling me to sit with her on the bus, always complimenting me and hugging me and i think she might like me back. but she is that way with everyone!" you sighed, rubbing your spare hand against your face and noticing a few of the girls start to file out of the change rooms for training.
"but she has not kissed everyone Vännen. tell her how you feel!" frido reminded softly as you sighed. "she does not remember that, or if she does then she has chosen to forget, and i do not wish to make a fool of myself by bringing it up or ruining things. i have to go we have training, i will call you tonight?" you offered, wanting a better chance to catch up with the girl who agreed before you ended the call.
now one of the last to get ready you hurried down the hall and into the change rooms, dropping down by your cubby and hurrying to change into your boots, stripping off your hoodie and tossing it behind you.
"did someone sleep in this morning?" you glanced up to meet bright blue eyes and an amused smile. "no i was speaking with frido." you returned her smile, lacing up your boots and rummaging around for your drink bottle with a frown.
though before you could worry any further it appeared in front of you in stina's tight hold, you taking it from her and standing with a grateful smile. "tack själv!" you sighed and craned your head up to kiss her cheek, walking out of the change rooms and missing the way the blondes whole face lit up bright red and she hurried after you.
"the decorations are nice." you smiled as she caught up with you, the clacking of your boots loud against the polished floors as stina hummed in agreement.
the morning passed by with nothing out of the ordinary, everyone pausing just before lunch to watch laura do her first run on the grass, both you and stina quite close with the austrian defender cheered loudly and proudly.
breaking for lunch everyone returned to the change rooms to swap shoes, the afternoons media session studying the weekends opponents not requiring cleats.
"mistletoe Snygging!" you barely had time to look up before katie had almost tackled you to the bench, faux bunch in her hand and held over your head as she pressed a wet kiss to your cheek and you pushed her off wiping your cheek.
"who taught you Snygging?" you laughed as she grinned and nodded to lina before racing off to find another victim. "i never understand that." you looked to your right to meet stinas frown. "what?" you questioned, slipping your hoodie back on over your training top.
"mistletoe, the kissing. seems silly!" stina shrugged as you only hummed. "i think its sweet, maybe a little silly but still fun." you smiled softly, looking up as vic and kyra raced past, vic having 'accidentally' dumped her water on the australians head.
"ah! stop that, go change you are all wet and its freezing." you warned the younger girls who ignored you with a shrug, kyra aiming her bottle at vic who ducked at the last minute causing kyra to spray her bottle all over you.
"sorry!" the australian apologized with a wince as steph grabbed her and you sighed waving her away. "here." you felt a tap to your thigh and looked up to see stina offering you her own hoodie which you gratefully accepted after peeling off your own soaked one.
you tried not to dwell on how it felt to be wrapped up in the large bundle of material, drowned in the scent of her shampoo and the woody tones of her perfume which tickled at your nose and allowed your body to settle.
"won't you be cold?" you questioned as she changed out of her long sleeve into her short. "some of us have real scandinavian blood in us, don't feel the cold." she teased as you pinched her and she laughed, offering you a hand up.
you expected her to let go of you once she pulled you to your feet but to your surprise her arm settled over your shoulders pulling you into her side as she walked the two of you toward the cafeteria.
"are you going home for christmas?" the blonde asked curiously as you gave her a strange look. "we booked the same flight back!" you laughed, all four of you travelling home together at the end of the season having booked the tickets only a couple of weeks ago.
"no! i mean to your families house." stina corrected, cheeks tinted slightly pink as she handed you a tray. "oh! no, my sister is hosting everyone this year." the two of you conversed about your plans, laura joining you as you both pulled her into tight hugs of congratulation and stinas arm left your shoulder.
filing into the media room after lunch it wasn't anything new when stina tugged on the back of your her hoodie to signal you sit beside her, your head falling to her shoulder as you chatted to alessia in front of you.
the room quietened as jonas and the coaching staff arrived, everyone settling down and paying attention throughout the entire presentation.
when the lights flicked back on a couple of hours later the room winced and chatter resumed as the coaching staff left and everyone started to stretch out tired limbs and do the same.
wandering back toward the change rooms to grab bags and head off for the day the mood was upbeat, everyone tired but excited to be done for the day, a group invitation of going out for dinner thrown about as some accepted but most declined with the weather outside worsening.
"ah ah ah!" you jolted to a stop as a hand planted on your chest stopping you in your tracks as stina ran into the back of you and apologised, katie blocking the two of you from entering.
"mistletoe!" katie smirked nodding upwards as you rolled your eyes. "didn't see you harassing anyone else for a kiss mccabe!" you chuckled, trying to go around her as she blocked the doorway again.
"not me. the two of you, go on! its bad luck not to have a little smooch." katie grinned wolfishly wiggling her eyebrows, waving off a few of the girls who yelled out from inside for her to leave you both alone.
"katie come on, move." you groaned trying to shoulder her out of the way without succeeding in moving her an inch. "stina! don't want bad luck do ya?" the irishwoman grinned over your head to the taller girl behind you who up until now hadn't said a word.
"i do not care and i do not want to kiss her katie, move." her words were blunt and hurt you much more than you cared to admit, katie not missing the way your face changed to convey so and quickly moving out of your way as you hurried inside.
"hey Älskling-" you heard amanda sit beside you and place a hand on your shoulder with a concerned look as you shook your head and pushed away her hand. "can we go please?" you murmured quietly grabbing your bag, cheeks hot with humiliation as the older girl nodded.
pulling off stina's hoodie you shoved it into her hands without a word or a look in her direction and pushed past her, ignoring her calls after you as you followed amanda out to the car, hearing kim and leah rip into katie for embarrassing the two of you and trying not to pretend you cared.
"vänta en minut!" footsteps pounded after you as amanda turned and spotted stina hurrying after the two of you, squeezing your arm and saying she'd wait for you in the car, leaving before you could even say another word.
with a sigh you stopped, allowing stina to catch up to you and find her breath for a moment, nodding for you to follow her into one of the meeting rooms for a little privacy.
"i'm so sorry, it came out wrong." she rushed out quickly, hands playing with the strap of her gym bag as you shrugged. "its fine stina, no need to be sorry." you forced a smile and turned to leave as she moved to grab your wrist.
"please, hear me out." she pleaded as you gave her an odd look but nodded, gesturing for her to continue as she took a deep breath. "okay. i just-" she paused, clearly struggling with how to continue.
"at the world cup, there was one night after the win when we went out partying. we were very drunk and you looked so happy and beautiful and...free." your cheeks blushed a little at her words not expecting them.
"i saw you dancing with the others and not with me so i took your hand and told you to come to the toilet with me-" your chest tightened at her words, not daring to believe you were really hearing this.
"-but really i just wanted to kiss you, with the alcohol in me i felt like i had all the courage i never had before." your breath stopped entirely at that.
"and so we..." she trailed off rubbing the back of her neck. "-we kissed." you finished for her as she gave you an incredulous look of surprise. "you remember?" you nodded at that and her face seemed to fall.
"this was a mistake." she shook her head and turned to leave as now you took hold of her wrist and pulled her back. "no, please finish." you asked, voice barely above a whisper as she hesitated but eventually nodded.
"-we kissed. then frido interrupted and you looked embarrassed so i left, then we never spoke about it so i assumed you were just too drunk and thats why you kissed me back." she admitted quietly and you couldn't help but let out a peal of laughter.
"what is funny?" "this. you, me, all of it." "i knew this was a mistake."
"no no! i remember the kiss yes, but when you left and never mentioned it i thought you were too drunk to remember or that you'd maybe chosen to forget." you bit your lip as stinas eyes widened.
"i like you but i didn't think you liked me back." stina blurted out, tips of her ears burning bright red as your eyes bugged. "i like you too, i didn't think you liked me back!"
"so we-" "-we both remember." "but we-" "-we both didn't bring it up." "and we-" "-we both like each other."
at that a silence built between you, both searching one anothers faces for any signs of insincerity in your confessions. suddenly stina let out a groan, cheeks red with embarrassment as she buried her face in her hands.
"we are very stupid." "so stupid."
at that you both shared a smile which built into a laugh, the taller girl pulling you into a hug as you melted into her, the air around you starting to crackle with an odd feeling as your laughter died down and you craned your head back to look up at her.
"hey stina." you spoke as she raised an eyebrow. "mistletoe." you pointed above her head with a small smile as her eyes flicked upward and she let out a laugh. "katie said it is bad luck, right?"
at that she ducked her head to press her lips to yours, your mouths slotting against one anothers perfectly as you relaxed into her, balling her top in your fists as your head spun like a top.
this kiss was very different to the last. her lips were soft and welcoming, and she kissed you so tenderly as if you might break if she wasn't careful, one hand cupping your cheek to deepen it slightly, testing the waters as her tongue swiped against your bottom lip and you parted them slightly to allow her tongue to slip into your mouth.
pulling away after a few beats of silence passed the two of you blushed and refused to look at one another, though still pressed together there was very little other options.
"oh you are joking!" you leapt away from one another and looked to the door where amanda was throwing her head back with a groan, the two of you sending her strange looks as she clicked her tongue.
"you both could not have waited till next season? i owe frido money now!"

Lilo’s Sparkle
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mum! Alessia Russo x Child! Reader
Warnings: fluff, mention of injury, very very short.
___________________
You held your head up high, making sure your eyesight was level with the barricade of Alessia’s arms around you.
Your mummy was rocking you, holding you in a small confinement of blankets and an pink sweater. It was cold in Birmingham, but so was every other game your Mummy’s team played at. It was the same at Manchester, and London was no different. The only chance was the people. Auntie Ella only picked you up from your new preschool when she was down South, and you and Mummy would sometimes meet for orange juice at Auntie Ella’s favourite cafe when you were in Manchester.
But today you were in Birmingham, which was a often occurrence. London was your new home. You were accustomed to Manchester, and the weather in England was pretty standard across the country, so there wasn't much to adjust to.
“Do you want to go see Kyra with me, Lilo?”
You looked over at your Aunt Stina. She was perplexed, confronted with mixed emotions. You had teary eyes from the overstimulation, so you just wanted a cuddle.
“Is Stina okay, Mummy? Does she need a hug?”
There was cheering everywhere. Mummy had a very wide grin, and rosy cheeks similar to yours, except you were cold and she was exhausted. The 120-minute frenzy had left you feeling fatigued in your seat on the bench. It was a lot to ask a three-year-old to sit quietly without fuss without the company of her Mummy and her Aunties.
“How bout you ask to see if she wants one, sweets?”
You nodded.
With the comfort of Kyra in the first half, and Leah in the second, you were pretty much well-behaved. But after your favourite Auntie — though Stina Ballerina and Lee Lee never liked you saying that — Frida went down and stretched off the pitch, you instantly grew angsty and agitated. This was only exemplified with Mummy was subbed on in place of.
You ran over to Stina, yanking softly on the woman’s shorts.
“Do you need a cuddle, Auntie Stina?” You asked, fiddling with your zipper as you spoke. Your hood was up upon your Mummy’s discretion, the media attention on you the foremost of her worries.
“Oh, I always need a hug from you, Lilo, älskling.”
“Okay! Thank you!”
Stina knelt down at the feeling your body heat holding onto her calf, swiftly picking you up and cradling you in her grip. Vivi came up behind you, wearing a matching Arsenal jumper, fitting her medal over your neck.
“You scored the winner, Auntie.” You proclaimed, engulfing Stina’s jersey next to your cheek. “You are a superhero Stina. I think your a sparkle.”
Alessia’s giggles were heard not far from where you stood, the thought of you talking about people being a ‘sparkle’ endearing to her.
“Wow, Lilo darling, you think Stina did well?”
“Mummy, of course! She's a sparkle, remember?” You looked between Stina, Vivi, and Mummy. “Mummy and I were calling you a sparkle on the bus after you gave me a cookie, remember? Thank you, Auntie, you really are a star.”
It was considered your thing. To call someone a sparkle was your view of an utmost compliment. You are a star, superior in all ways, and for Stina, she hugged you a little tighter knowing you relished her hard work.
No amount of compliment could outshine a sparkle.
“You are too kind, Lilo,” Stina responded, her blush prominently painting across the bridge of her nose. “Thank you, but you are the biggest sparkle of all.”
You were now pressing your face against the woman’s cheeks, reaching out to play with Mummy’s collar. “Thank you!”
You eventually pushed away from all the celebratory chaos, waddling over to Lee Lee, and Kimmy, knowing they’d provide some serenity to your hyperness.
They were on their way to receiving the trophy, and when you found your way squelched between them, Lee picked you up, placing you inside the trophy with a plonk.
Everyone laughed and cheered as you were lifted into the air, celebrating flambountaly for their sparkle.
Not only as individuals, but as a club.

a/n: just a little Idea on my mind...
Tumblr media
Pairing: Stina Blackstenius x FRAWNT!reader; Arsenal WFC x reader.
Summary: Arsenal signed a new and mysterious player but it's seem that some of them already know her
Type: Fluffy as f-
Warning: me who give you a surprise fic but don't finish an other 😭
word count: 1746
-----
Everybody knew Stina was a rather private person, and everybody was okay with this. Things didn't change even when she was transferred to Arsenal.
After the World Cup, she was rather surprised to be welcomed with the news of a new transfer. With Amanda, who signed for the gunners just before the tournament, they were trying to guess which sort of player could be their new teammate.
While the girls were getting ready, they heard someone knock on the door, and all the girls looked at them. You were there with Jonas, waiting for him to introduce you to your new team.
"Girl, this is Y/n, our new recruit. I'll let her introduce herself and get ready for training." He announced to them. "And don't worry, they kind of looked scary, but they don't bite. Well, maybe Katie can." He said to you just too loud to be heard by the Irish girl who protested before he left the room.
When the door got closed, you had all eyes on you, and you guessed it was your time to start to speak.
"Hi, I'm Y/n Y/l/n; I'm a full back. I played for the PSG, and I play for the France national team." You said trying to not stutter and give a bad first impression. The girls didn't have time to say anything before Amanda came to hug you.
"I knew you would follow me. You can't get rid of me." She joked, making you chuckle lightly. After that, the rest of the room came to welcome you. Stina being the last one, everybody noticed your change when you shook the striker's hand.
"Well, isn't that Mrs. Blackstenius?" You asked loudly and the Swedish player rolled her eyes.
"Happy to see you too, Y/n." She replied sarcastically, which made Lina and Amanda laugh quietly.
"Do we have to worry that they will rip each other's heads apart?" Lia asked Lina.
"No, don't worry, they played together back in Montpelier." The second Swedish informed them.
During the training, everyone saw something; you were close to the Swedish players, but even more so with Stina. Sometimes girls could hear you make jokes, to which the striker would just roll her eyes before a smirk appeared on her face.
After training, it was time to go back home. "So can you tell us how you ended up here without us knowing anything?" Amanda asked when the only ones in the changing room were the three Swedish players and you.
"I asked Johanna to pick me up at the airport, and she also drove me here. Which means—" You looked at Stina and said, "We'll have to go to her home before we go to ours."
The striker didn't complain and just grabbed her bag and your hand before leading you out of the room. You stayed there until you reached her car, and she had to let you sit on the passenger side.
"I hope you like your–" You didn't finish your sentence before her lips were glued against yours. She only broke it when oxygen became a necessity.
"I missed you. You don't know how much I'm happy that you finally joined me." She confessed.
"I'm sure you'll have all the time to show me this after we get my things from Jo." You said with a mischievous smile.
The next few days were strange for the Arsenal girls. It was not difficult to talk to you; you were rather open about everything. That helped them learn more about you and how you were so friendly with the Swedish players. But something was still on almost everyone's minds: you said that you had a wife, but some of them heard you shamelessly flirt with Stina.
"I don't think it's a good idea to let Y/n flirt like that with Stina." Steph proposed to some teammates while they saw you telling what seemed like a good joke, judging by your proud face and the laughing face of the Swedish woman.
"Maybe they're just good friends," Caitlin said.
"Friends don't look at each other like they did." Lia said, pointing out how much they saw you do the heart eyes to the blonde.
"You should see how Stina looked at her when we were training today." Viv said as she joined the group.
"See? Even Viv noticed it." Steph said to her national teammate, obviously not replying when the Dutch asked her what she meant.
The girls were about to say something when they saw you walking near them to join Kyra and Vicky, who called you for something.
"It's time." Steph said, and the group quickly stood up to have a little talk with their teammate.
Stina was doing some exercise and entertaining a little chat with her Swedish teammates, and Frida, who joined them just after you left, when she saw the girls stopping in front of her.
"Is everything okay?" She asked when she noticed the expressions of her teammates.
The girls exchanged glances to see who would talk first. When she felt that nobody would, Leah took things into her hands. "Stina, I—no, we think you need to stop what you and Y/n are doing." The captain said, earning a strange look from all the Scandi girls.
"What do you mea–" Amanda started, but she was cut when you came back from your little chat with the youngies.
"Hey Blackstenius, isn't it funny that I'm the French one but Eiffel for you?" You said with a comical wink, which made Lina and Amanda burst into laughter while the striker just blushed very hard. "Okay, now I have to go." You said this before leaving, leaving the girls completely speechless.
"What just happened?" Caitlin asked.
"I think we will need to have a talk with her too. She can't just do that." Steph said.
~~~
This evening, you were cooking when Stina suddenly came to you with an amusing look. You looked at her with a confused expression while she just laughed at something on her phone.
"Hey, what is it?" You asked a little jealous to not be in the confidence.
"The girls came to me today. They told me that you need to stop flirting with me like that. They find it very inappropriate because you have a wife, and it's very irrespective to her."
"Well, too bad. I love to flirt with her in front of everyone, even if they don't know who she is." You replied. The blonde took your hands, wrapped them around her waist, and placed hers around your neck.
"I know you want to tell them, but you can't deny that it's funny to see them freak out." She pointed, making you chuckle.
"Okay, but we will have to tell them soon because I started to feel a little impressed with their bad looks." You said this before pressing a light kiss on her lips.
"Yeah, I know. Don't worry, we will–" She was cut off by the doorbell, making her look at you a little confused. "You waited for someone?"
"I invited Jo, but she shouldn't have been here for at least thirty minutes, I think." You replied while you made your way to the front door.
"Maybe it's your wife." Stina joked.
"Oh, welcome, my lov–oh." In front of you were Steph, Caitlin, Lia, and Leah. "Well, good evening, I think." You said and let them enter, a little unsure of what was happening.
"Älskling (Darling), who is this?" Stina said coming out of the kitchen. "Oh. Well, good evening... I think." She said to the girls.
The girls looked at you, then at her, more confused than before.
"What's happening here? And what are you doing here?" Leah asked you.
"Well, I can ask you the same thing. We were expecting Jo and Zećira, but I think you're welcome too." You replied.
"Wait. Can we please restart it slowly? First, what is Y/n doing here, and second "Jo and Zećira"? Like Kaneryd and Mušović from Chelsea?" Caitlin asked.
"First, we live together; second, yeah; and to finish, what are you doing here?" Your wife was more confused than angry.
"Well, we want to see you, and—wait! Did you say that you live together?" Lia asked.
"Yeah, I mean, it's okay to live with my wife, until there is a law that I don't know yet that says the opposite." You replied with a little bit of sarcasm in your tone.
"Your wife?" They all asked at the same time.
"Surprise," Stina said, showing them her ring.
"Why is it the first time we see this?" Steph asked this time.
"She usually leaves it home when she has to train because she loses things easily." You replied, making your wife throw a pillow at you.
"Since when?" The Swiss woman asked visibly more calm than the others.
"Three years now, but I already told you that last week." You said.
"No, until a few seconds ago, we thought that you were married to some random woman, not one of our teammates." Leah said.
"Okay, it's not that I don't want to talk, but I need to finish cooking, so I let you with her." You said heading directly to your previous location.
From the kitchen, you could hear how the girls didn't stop asking all sorts of questions to the striker, and you were mentally laughing just by imagining the face she should make at this moment. Yes, you didn't really yell everywhere that you were engaged to the Swedish player, but it was never really taboo every time someone asked you what your relationship was with her.
The meal was just ready when you heard the front open and close a few seconds later and heard your wife's footsteps coming to where you were. Being taller than you, she wrapped her arms around your torso and rested her head on top of yours before taking a deep breath.
"Please don't let me reply to those questions alone next time, please." She said dramatically, making you laugh.
"I'm sorry, mon amour (my love), but you nailed it, like always." You replied and turned around to face her. She was about to kiss you, but you gently put your finger on top of her lips. "I think I heard someone ring outside." You said.
"What do you–" she couldn't say something before both heard the ring bell a second time. The blonde rolled her eyes but finally let your body.
The Ugly Green Emotion
Part Two [SMUT!]
Tumblr media
TW: soft top stina, cunnilingus, praise kink [yahoo enjoy this por favor] [drop some comments, lmk yalls thoughts!!]
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, you emerged from the airport and hailed a taxi to take you to Stina's apartment. As the taxi made its way through the familiar streets of London, you couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia wash over you.
When the taxi pulled up outside Stina's building, you practically leaped out, eager to see her again. With a quick thank you to the driver, you hurried up the steps and rang the doorbell, your heart racing with anticipation.
Moments later, the door swung open, and there stood Stina, her eyes lighting up with joy as she saw you standing there. Without a word, she pulled you into a tight embrace, holding you close as if she never wanted to let you go.
“I've missed you so much,” she whispered, her voice filled with emotion as she pressed a gentle kiss to your lips.
“I've missed you too,” you replied, your own voice thick with emotion. “I couldn't wait to get back to you.”
Stina pulled back slightly, her eyes searching yours with a mix of surprise and delight. “I didn't expect to see you tonight,” she admitted, her voice tinged with excitement. “What made you come back early?”
You smiled, feeling a rush of affection for Stina as you reached up to brush a stray strand of hair from her face. “I missed you too much,” you confessed, your voice barely above a whisper. “I wanted to surprise you, and… since I have a few days off, I wanted to spend them with you.”
"You know," she said softly, "I've been thinking about all the ways I want to welcome you home."
A shiver ran down your spine at the suggestion, anticipation coursing through your veins. "Tell me," you whispered, your voice barely a breath as you leaned in closer to her.
With a playful glint in her eyes, Stina leaned in close, her lips brushing against yours in a tantalising kiss. "Oh, I plan to show you, min kärlek," she murmured, her voice sending a jolt of desire straight to your core.
“Show me then, lovely,” You wrapped your arms around her neck, letting Stina’s hands circle your waist before picking you up into her arms. With a soft laugh, you wrapped your legs around her waist, pulling her closer as your lips met in a passionate kiss.
Stina's touch was electric against your skin, sending shivers of pleasure coursing through your body as she carried you towards the bedroom. With each step, the anticipation grew, until finally, she laid you down on the bed, her eyes dark with desire as she hovered over you.
“I've missed you so much,” Stina whispered, her voice husky with desire as she trailed kisses along your jawline. “I've been thinking about this since I saw you in that dress.”
A low moan escaped your lips as Stina's hands roamed your body, her touch sending waves of pleasure radiating through you. “I've missed you too,” you gasped, your voice filled with longing as you arched into her touch. “Fuck, Stin, please…”
With a soft chuckle, Stina's lips trailed down your neck, leaving a trail of fire in their wake. “Please what, pretty girl?” she whispered, her voice dripping with desire as she nibbled gently on your skin. “Tell me what you want.”
“Touch me, please,” You bit your lip, trying to keep it down and keep some sense of composure. You knew it would be physically impossible, there was a reason why you had racked up a lot of ‘late to training’ warnings. Most of these came after the nights you’d spend at each other’s houses.
Stina's lips curved into a wicked smile as she looked up at you, her eyes dark with desire. “Oh, I plan to touch you,” she murmured, her voice husky with need as she trailed her fingertips lightly over your skin. “But first, I want to hear you beg for it.”
Your breath hitched at her words, desire pooling low in your stomach as you felt yourself growing wetter and wetter. “Please, Stin,” you whimpered, unable to hide the desperation in your voice. “I need you to touch me, to make me yours.”
“I’m sorry, älskling, but I didn’t quite hear you,” Stina murmured in response. God, it felt like she was everywhere. Her hands gently traced patterns on your hips, drifting lower and lower whilst she placed kisses and gentle nips where her fingertips had been. “God, I love knowing that I'm the only one who can make you feel this way.” She glanced up at you, and you swore to whatever otherworldly figure that was listening that you could have died a completely fulfilled woman right then and there when she made eye contact.
“Please,” you gasped, your voice filled with longing as you pressed yourself closer to her. “I need you, Stin.”
With a soft laugh, Stina's hands roamed your body, igniting a fire within you that burned hotter with each passing second. “You're so beautiful,” she whispered, her voice thick with desire as she trailed kisses along your jawline. “I could spend forever worshipping you.”
Stina's fingers deftly tugged at the straps of your bra, a mischievous glint dancing in her eyes as she revealed the soft curves of your breasts. “God, you're so breathtaking,” she murmured, her voice husky with desire as she leaned in to capture one of your nipples between her lips.
You gasped at the sudden contact, your fingers tangling in Stina's hair as waves of pleasure washed over you. “Stin,” you moaned, your voice a breathless whisper as she continued to lavish attention on your sensitive flesh.
With a soft laugh, Stina's lips trailed a path of fire down your chest, her hands teasingly brushing over your skin as she explored every inch of your body. “You taste so sweet,” she whispered, her voice thick with desire as she nipped gently at your skin. “I could spend eternity right here.”
Your breath hitched at Stina's words, desire coursing through your veins as she teased you mercilessly. “Please,” you whimpered, your voice barely a whisper as you arched into her touch. “I need more, Stin.” Then you properly registered what she said, an adorably confused expression on your face. “That wouldn’t be healthy… I mean, us athletes need protein, nutrients… and water…”
With a playful glint in her eyes, Stina's lips trailed lower again, leaving a trail of hot kisses along your stomach once more, chuckling at you thinking out loud. “Tell me what you want, baby,” she murmured, her voice husky with desire as she toyed with the waistband of your underwear. “You know you have to ask for it.”
You let out a soft moan, your body trembling with anticipation as Stina's hands roamed your body, “I want you,” you gasped, your voice thick with desire as you reached out for her. Stina could be mean sometimes; on some occasions, she’d tie you up and wouldn’t let you touch an inch of her, and the only time you could touch her, she’d blindfold you and ride your tongue for her own pleasure. On other occasions, she could be incredibly generous, like now, as she let you tug her closer by the necklace you had gifted her for her birthday last year.
Stina's lips curled into a wicked smile as she allowed you to pull her closer, relishing in the desire and urgency that radiated from you. “You're so eager, my love,” she murmured, her voice husky with desire as she trailed kisses along your jawline. “I want you too.” She pulled back slightly, eyes scanning your face. “I want to taste every inch of you, to make you scream my name.”
With a soft groan, you melted into her touch, your body arching against hers as she positioned herself between your legs. “Please,” you gasped, your voice thick with need as you parted your thighs.
With a soft chuckle, Stina's lips descended upon your most sensitive spot, her tongue sending waves of pleasure coursing through you. “I'm right here, darling,” she whispered, her voice filled with promise as she began to explore you with an intoxicating urgency. “Let me show you how much I adore you.”
“Oh, fuck,” you gasped, your voice breaking as she immediately had you spiraling into ecstasy with each delicious stroke of her tongue. “Don't stop, Stin. Please, don't stop.”
“Fuck, you taste like a dream,” she whispered, her voice filled with desire as she devoured you with abandon.
Stina's hands gripped your hips tightly, holding you in place as she continued to pleasure you with a relentless determination. “You're mine, all mine,” she panted, her voice thick with desire. She knew she should pace herself, you had all night after all, but you drove her insane. “No one else can make you feel like this, can they, darling?”
You could only nod in response, barely trusting yourself to string together some words, let alone a complete sentence. “Only you,” you managed to gasp out, “Only you, Stin.”
A satisfied smile played upon Stina's lips as she continued to worship you with an intensity that left you breathless. “That's right,” she whispered against your soaked cunt. “You're mine, and I'm going to make sure you never forget it.” She quickened her pace, and your eyes rolled back into your head, fluttering open to gaze down at your girlfriend.
“Please, Stin,” you whimpered, your voice trembling with need. “Please let me come.”
A mischievous glint danced in Stina's eyes as she pretended to consider your request, her pace slowing, making you groan and arch up into her. “Hmm, I don't know,” she teased, her voice dripping with desire. “Are you sure you've been a good girl for me?”
Your body writhed beneath Stina's touch, every fibre of your being yearning for the need to come. “Yes, yes, I've been good,” you pleaded, your voice filled with desperation as you begged for her permission to come. “Please, Stin, let me come. I need it so bad. Please let me.”
With a soft chuckle, Stina relented, her gaze softening as she leaned in to place a gentle kiss on your trembling thighs. “That's my good girl,” she murmured, her voice thick with desire as she quickened her pace once more, driving you to the brink before finally getting you there. “Come for me, min ängel. Come.”
As the waves of pleasure crashed over you, you cried out Stina's name, your voice filled with ecstasy as she brought you to the peak of bliss. “Stina,” you gasped, your body trembling as you surrendered to the overwhelming sensations coursing through you. “Oh god, Stina, I love you.”
Stina held you close, her arms wrapped protectively around you as you rode out the aftershocks of your orgasm. “You're so beautiful,” she whispered, her voice filled with adoration as she pressed gentle kisses against your skin. “I love you too, so much.”
Tears pricked at the corners of your eyes as you looked up at her, a smile on your face. "You quite literally brought me to heaven and back," you whispered, your heart overflowing with love for the woman who knew just how to bring you to the height of pleasure and back again. You reached up, gently bringing her face down to yours, kissing her softly. “Thank you for always taking care of me.”
Stina smiled down at you, her eyes shining with love as she brushed a strand of hair from your face, “You know you don’t have to thank me.” She littered kisses all over your face. “I’m really proud of you. Top five in the Ballon D’or? Insanity.”
“What’s insane is that you weren’t nominated, min kärlek,” you said, a serious expression on your face that made Stina chuckle before hiding her face in your neck, your hand instinctively coming up to give your girlfriend some hair scratches as you continued on your rant as to why Stina should’ve been at least nominated.
And when you withdrew your hand, again subconsciously as you tended to do hand gestures whenever you got like this, Stina lifted her head, “I agree, babe, I agree, but could you keep this… “ She grabbed your hand, and placed it on her hair. “... here?” When you deadpanned at her, she offered a sweet smile. “Please? I love you? And your amazing hair scratches?”
You sighed with a smile, pulling her closer to you, the two of you content with just existing together.
So this is love-Stina Blackstenius
Stina Blackstenius x reader
Tumblr media
Description: In which reader realizes she’s in loveee with her girlfriend.
Warnings:None just fluff and possible some bad writing.
A/N: this is my first woso fic so be niceeeee please and I’m also JUST A GIRL.
˚ʚ♡ɞ˚˚ʚ♡ɞ˚˚ʚ♡ɞ˚
You and your girlfriend,Stina have been dating for around 4 months, you both being introduced through your friend Katie. You were childhood best friends,and you moved to London to work as a sports photographer. Katie and you were totally opposite while she was rather loud,you were shy and quiet that’s what made Stina fall for you.
You loved how passionate Stina was about football and when she was on the ball she was the true definition of a baller. She always had you memorized and in awe at how much of an amazing forward she was.
“ You know there’s other people on the pitch right?” You looked to your right and there stood your girlfriend. You looked at her and smirked.
“ I know,but this girl catches my attention all the time.” At that the older woman rolled her eyes and pushed you gently. You noticed that look in her eyes. They one that was filled with so much love and you looked like hung the stars.
“ Oi love birds,if you're done flirty we need Stina back for training.” Yelled Katie, you rolled your eyes and turned to look at your girlfriend and pressed a quick kiss to her lips and pushed her away.
**
After training you waited for stina by your car and when you saw her your heart skipped a beat. You knew you loved stina. She was the love of your life.She was your home, but what if she didn’t feel the same about you?
You were so lost in your thoughts that you didn’t see her come up to you until she started pulling you into a hug.
You let out a deep sigh,and closed your eyes when you were brought into her arms. She ran her fingers through your hair, something she knew always calmed you down when you were upset or something was bothering you.
“ Are you okay min kärlek?” She asked softly and you nodded your head and pulled back to give her a kiss.
“ Yes baby,I’m just super tired.” You said and forced a smile. She didn’t believe it,but nodded her head. She didn’t want to push you.
**
When you arrived back at your apartment Stina knew something was bothering you. You seemed distracted and lost in your own thoughts.
“ I’m gonna go take a quick shower then put my clothes to wash. I'll be right back. Then we can order something okay?” You nodded your head and smiled at the older women.
While she was away you go to think. Stina knew everything about you. How you didn’t like coffee because the taste was disgusting or how you didn’t like when your food was touching. She remembered your favorite snacks, foods,and your favorite flowers.
Everything was just so loving, and sweet with her. She made you feel safe and loved. Stina made sure to always show you how much she appreciated you for always supporting her when she was super busy. She always knew when something was wrong,and she knew just what to say when you were feeling so down.
Once again, you were so lost in thoughts you didn’t hear Stina enter the room or feel her sit down next to you on the couch.
Your girlfriend cupped your face and you snapped out of your thoughts.
She had that look again.
“älsking, are you sure you're okay?” She questioned softly,and nodded and took a deep breath.
“ Stina.” You said seriously and that caused panic in the older women.
“ I’ve been thinking, when I’m with you I feel at home. I feel so safe and you make me feel like I’m the only person in this world that matters.You're the first thing on my mind in the morning and my last thought before I go to sleep. You know all my favorite things, even the little things, and I love how passionate you are about football-“ you took a deep breath before you continued.
“ What I’m trying to say is that I’m in love with Stina,and you don’t have to say it back but-“ she cuts you off with a sweet loving kiss,and you both start smiling and when you pull back. You looked into her and saw that same look again.
“I love you too, you big dummy.” She replied softly and pulled you in for another kiss.
It’s safe to say that night you fell asleep with a smile on your face and with the girl you love in your arms.
Who knew being loved by the right person was such an amazing feeling.
ok… i don’t know why but i get secret relationship vibes from stina.
what if reader is new to arsenal, she transfers cause of stina, and nobody knows their dating/married… reader says her girlfriend/wife’s name is emma (which is stina’s other first name) and all the girls keep bugging reader to meet her or see her at a game. then something happens when it’s like team game night where reader slips up and calls stina ems or emma and everyone’s like 😮
Meet The Wife
Stina Blackstenius x fem!reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Baby, time to wake up. You have to get ready so we can get our drills in before the game.” You say softly, moving the blonde’s messy hair to the side and rubbing your thumb up and down her cheek.
“I’m too sleepy.” Your wife grumbles into the pillow, making no movement to get up. Standing up, you sigh making it sound as if you’re just going to leave her bed but her wishes are soon destroyed when you yank the covers off her body and onto the floor.
“What was that for?” Stina exclaims, now sitting up in bed with an annoyed look pointed at you.
“Good, now that you’re up you can take a shower. You stink.” You fake grimace while folding the blankets that were on the ground. Too caught up in your head, you don’t notice the tall blonde towering over you from behind. Cold hands rest themselves below your shirt, causing you to jump in place.
“Maybe you can join me in the shower, kärlek.” She suggests, nipping at the skin of your neck as you shakily continue what you’re doing, trying not to give in.
“Nope.”
“Ugh, really? You’re going to turn down sex?” The taller girl throws her head back, groaning at your denial. All she needs as an answer is the stone expression plastered on your face. Your wife sighs and walks over to the closet to pick out her outfit for the day but not without mumbling under her breath in her native tongue.
“C’mon Stinky Blackstenius.” You joke which the other girl doesn’t find as amusing. She huffs and goes into your shared bathroom, slamming the door. “Ooo Stina Black-stinky-us. Much better.” You announce over the sound of the shower starting.
“I want a divorce!”
“Good game out there, speedy. Glad we snatched you up before anyone else could.” Katie pats your shoulder, passing you to get to her cubby.
Your transfer was pretty sudden but long-awaited, having played for Vittsjö in Sweden. You and Stina met each other when you both debuted on the national team. It both took you a while to admit your feelings for one another, but now here you are, married for 5 years.
No one knows besides your family and a few of your national teammates who’ve accidentally caught you making out in a storage closet. It’s not that you don’t want people to know, you both just enjoy your private life with no interruptions.
“It wouldn’t have been a tough choice anyway. I’d choose Arsenal in a heartbeat.” You proclaim, stripping out of your sweaty jersey.
“Why here?” Vic asks the question everyone is secretly wondering.
“The whole spirit here, the fans, the overall club just outshines the others, and I guess the people here aren’t too bad either.” You yelp as Kyra pokes behind your knee, making your leg weaken and almost make you fall. “You’ll regret that.” You point your finger at the younger girl with a scold.
After your shower, you’re brushing through your hair and gathering everything up in your bag, getting ready to leave as soon as possible to be able to lay around and relax with your wife. Just as you’re about to sling your bag over your shoulder, a sharp gasp stops you.
“Is that a ring?” Steph shouts, grabbing all the girl’s attention. Stina watches from afar with a small smile as the team hounds you with questions.
“Since when?”
“Who’s the lucky gal?”
“You’re engaged?”
“I didn’t even know you were seeing someone.”
“Okay, okay. Yes, I have a ring, no, I’m not engaged.” You answer to which all the girls frown. “I’m married.”
An uproar is held all around the locker room along with several more questions. You sigh with an exhausted smile and answer short questions to the best of your ability.
“Her name is Emma and we have been married for a few years. She’s the light of my life and I could never ask for a better person to wake up to in the morning and go to bed to at night.” Everyone coos at the new information, all finding out their new teammate is in love while Stina looks across the room with a love-sick smile on her face.
“Can we meet her?”
“Maybe one day.”
A few weeks later, the pestering never stops. Every day before a game the girls beg you to bring your wife to one so they all can meet her. You and Stina snicker over how oblivious they are to the wife being her.
It was someone else’s turn to host movie night since Beth and Viv’s place is being occupied by a very wild puppy that wouldn’t allow a quiet movie time. Stina surprisingly offered, the house being big enough and the living room having many different seating arrangements.
“Are ya comin’ to Stina’s tonight for our annual movie night?” Katie asks, watching you do your squatted reps.
“Of course. I couldn’t miss if I wanted to.” You breathe out, setting the bar in its original spot. Katie quirks her head in confusion but shakes it off, moving to start her turn. As your head flips around, you catch your wife’s gaze set on your ass with no shame. You wave your hand to wake her out of her trance which it does but also makes her flush and turn back to her workout.
As 7 pm began to approach, many of the girls began showing up, all bringing snacks and beverages. Some of them asked why you were so early, so you just made up an excuse saying Stina needed help with setting up and they all believed it.
About half an hour later, everyone is here and settled in their designated spots. You’re currently scavenging through the kitchen looking for your candy that you bought. You huff before walking over into the living room.
“Em, do you know where my candy is?”
“Em?” Alessia quips confusingly.
Leah quickly puts two and two together and jumps up to hug both of you awkwardly with Stina still sitting down on the loveseat while you’re standing.
“Why didn’t you tell us sooner?” She asks angrily, hitting both of you on the backs of your heads.
Multiple of the girls remain confused besides Viv, Lia, Kim, and Steph who are all smiling in their spots, waiting for everyone else to figure it out.
“Can someone explain here for those of us who don’t know what you’re talking about?” Kyra groans, not liking being out of the loop.
“Our new friend here has a wife we haven’t supposedly met before and her name is Emma.” Leah tries explaining, but the girls remain silent and confused.
“Stina’s first name is Emma! She just called her Emma even though no one else does. You guys comprehend?” The English Captain rushes out, waiting for everyone’s heads to shift. Soon multiple gasps are heard and you’re both quickly crowded by everyone.
“Everyone give my lady some space.” Stina interrupts, pulling you into her lap suddenly, making you shriek. “We get this information might be a little shocking but now you know.” She shrugs, smiling lovingly at you before kissing your cheek.
“A little shocking? Maybe try something bigger than that.” Beth scoffs with her arms crossed.
Once everyone gets their questions in, you all settle on a comedy movie and cuddle into someone. You remain seated in Stina’s lap with your head rested against her shoulder. She randomly kisses any part of your skin she can reach, enjoying not having to hide as much now.
“I have a question for you.” You whisper, turning your attention to the Swede.
“And what would that be?”
“Where’s my candy?” You whine from your lack of snacks which your wife finds adorable. She reaches beside her and pulls out a familiar colored bag.
“I had it ready with me right here, älskling.” Her hand holds up the bag away from your reach just as you’re about to grab it. You huff in annoyance and slump down into your previous position. “I need a little convincing to let you have these.” Stina smirks before perking her lips.
You roll your eyes at the once-shy girl who never wanted to show affection in front of her friends. Your hand grips her jaw, angling her face so you can smash your lips against hers. She hums into the kiss and soon traces her tongue along your bottom lip, but just before anything starts, a whistle grabs your attention.
“Oi lovebirds, get a room. We don’t wanna see you two swapping saliva.”
“Kyra, that is strike two, you better start running.”
Tell Me of Your Grief
Tumblr media
Stina Blackstenius x Reader
Summary: The fourteenth of March brings back some rather difficult memories, and you don't always make the healthiest decisions. Stina intervenes.
Word count: 4.4k
A/N: sorry it's been a while, I've started uni again which means my writing is somewhat slower! With some luck I'll be able to get things up once a week? But that remains to be seen... I promise this is hurt/comfort and not just pain btw.
Warnings ⚠️: discussion of death, self harm behaviors (mild), angst angst angst
------------------------------------
You woke up that morning to a text from Jonas saying you didn’t have to come to training.
It felt weak to admit it, but part of you was relieved. You knew Katie must’ve talked to him, which was mortifying if you let yourself think about it too much, but she knew you needed this day to yourself.
It was the anniversary of your best friend’s passing—five years in the making. You hadn’t told many of your teammates what happened, or why you became so withdrawn and somber the week around the 14th of March. It was too difficult to explain. All of the dramatics that surrounded the event, the pain, what you had done wrong, what she had too, it was all still too delicate for eyes you didn’t completely trust.
You hadn’t even told your girlfriend Stina yet. You’d meant to, really, you had, but the days slipped by and there never seemed like a good time to do it. You knew it would ruin any good mood you were in, and honestly you enjoyed having Stina as your respite when the rest of the world seemed to be knocking against your skull. But it felt wrong that she didn’t know. It felt as though you were hiding something from her, even if it wasn’t intentional.
“Hi baby, I’m not feeling well today so I won’t be at practice. Don’t worry your head when I’m not there. It’s nothing too serious, though, so I’ll be back tomorrow.” You spoke into your phone, recording a voice note to send to her so she wouldn’t be left in the dark about where you were.
Stina was a worrier, something you yourself could understand, so you always made the effort to let her know if you were running late or not going to something. Otherwise you’d inevitably get a call with her anxious voice on the other line.
It was early, too early for even Stina to be up. The sun had barely begun cresting over the horizon, casting a slight glow to everything. You wanted to go back to sleep, particularly since you hadn't slept all that well to begin with. Your back hurt from being tensed all night as you were plagued with anxious dreams. On your palms were the remnants of nail indentations—some of them bloody from how hard you had been pressing.
You turned on a podcast and closed your eyes, hoping the sound of human voices would lull you to sleep. It must've worked for a little while, because the next time you opened your eyes it was truly morning, and the podcast had switched to another episode.
The dreams had continued, unsurprisingly considering your waking mental state, and the extra hour of sleep you might be able to get if you closed your eyes wasn't worth it. So you got out of bed, throwing on a pair of leggings and a sweatshirt to go for a run.
You weren't typically a runner—in fact you were practically ethically against doing it as a hobby—but it was useful for clearing your head. And with no training today, it would feel good to get out for at least a little while. So you blasted your music and took off into the streets of London, completely lost in your own world. Nobody spoke to you, nobody looked at you.
By the time you had finished, you were sweaty, red-faced, and exhausted. The endorphins began to flood your system as you stripped and started the shower. You turned it almost as high as it could go, hoping for the burn against your skin. You hissed, stepping under the spray, and tears sprung to your eyes. Your skin immediately began to redden. But you didn’t move to lower the heat, instead grabbing your shampoo, gritting your teeth, and bearing it.
“Morning, Blackstenius.” Beth called, clapping her on the back soundly as she wandered into the locker room.
Stina expected to find you there, sitting by your locker getting changed into your kit and reading your book as you always did, each morning. But you weren’t there. Your locker hadn’t even been touched. She furrowed her brow, then remembered that you had sent her a message earlier. Maybe you had asked her for a ride and she hadn’t seen? Maybe you were going to be late today? Maybe you had some kind of appointment you’d forgotten about until the last minute—you were notorious for that.
“Morning,” Katie said, sitting down next to Stina on the bench and pulling her kit out of her bag.
“Morning, Katie.” She replied, opening her phone to look at her message.
She brought the phone to her ear, confusion and concern filling her chest as she listened to your voice. Though your words weren’t all that worrying, she could hear in your voice that things weren’t right.
“How’s she doing?” Katie asked, having heard your voice coming from the phone. Her voice was cautious, something unusual for the Irish captain.
“Did you know she wouldn’t be here today?” Stina asked, confused as to why Katie seemed to be clued in to your mood before her. Maybe you had sent her a similar message? She was your best friend, after all. The two of you made a ridiculous pair—her loud and aggressive, you nearly silent and composed—but you’d known each other longer than anyone else on the team, and everyone knew Katie would do practically anything for you.
Katie was quiet, glancing around at the other girls in the room. Now Stina was worried. Even though you had told her not to be, that it wasn’t anything serious, she couldn’t help it now that Katie was acting so strangely.
Once it was just Stina and Katie in the locker room, Katie answered her question.
“Listen, it isn’t my place to tell you anything. You know how private she is…” Katie sighed, rubbing her temples. “I can’t believe she didn’t tell you, probably didn’t want to worry you, the idiot,” she mumbled under her breath to an increasingly concerned Stina.
“Katie.” Stina said firmly, “What the fuck is going on?”
She wasn’t usually one to swear. But where you were concerned, the possibility that you were hurting, and had hidden it from her, that warranted much more than cursing.
“Today is difficult for her, very difficult. That’s all I feel comfortable saying. But if you want to go, Jonas is going to understand.”
Stina’s heart was in her stomach. Images flashed through her mind, a thousand different horrible things this could mean.
"Difficult?" She questioned, "Katie, is she safe? Do I have to be prepared for—"
"It's not like that, she isn't in physical danger."
The answer wasn't reassuring to Stina, who now felt a little ill at the thought of you home alone today. She should be there with you. Someone should be there, if you didn't want her (God, she hoped you wanted her, trusted her). The urge to press more information out of Katie was strong, but Stina held herself back. Katie was right—you needed to tell Stina yourself. Otherwise any insight into your head would be forced entry, a violation of the trust you had both with Katie and with her.
So Stina simply nodded and looked back at her phone to reply to your message.
Okay, I hope you're feeling all right. Can I swing by later and bring you something? I'd love to see you <3
She wanted to give you an option to say no to her visit—though she would prefer to just go over there now. At least now if you didn't answer before she showed up she could say she had reached out.
You waited until the water ran cold to get out of the shower. Your skin was raw to the touch, and still a subtle red color after you had dried yourself off and began braiding your hair. You could hardly stand to look at yourself.
You threw on the only clothes you could stand on your skin—a pair of soft sweatpants and fuzzy socks—along with Stina's old Häcken hoodie she left at your place a few days ago. It smelled of her which comforted you even if she wasn't here.
Your phone dinged with a message. Upon opening it, you saw Stina and Katie had messaged, and that you had two missed calls.
"Eat something." Was all your message from Katie said.
She knew you, and knew you wouldn't want to eat today. But you had to.
You went to open Stina's text when your phone lit up with another incoming call. It was from Sandra, the mother of your friend. She did this every year, and every year you told yourself you wouldn't pick up. It wasn't healthy for either of you—it reopened wounds that were barely scabbing over as it was. She inevitably cried, and asked why you had left her daughter alone that night, and you bit your lip raw trying to keep quiet and apologize.
But even though you knew the script, you picked up the phone.
"Hi," you said, your voice noticeably smaller.
You heard a sigh of relief on the other end.
"How are you, Sandra?" You continued, your fingers picking at your lip anxiously. You felt it start to bleed and did nothing.
"Are you still in Limerick?" You continued your flood of questions, waiting for her onslaught to begin.
A few minutes later, once you were on your tenth question and you'd switched from your lip to pressing your nails into your bloodied palm, you heard her begin to cry.
You weren't sure how you managed this every year. Memories of the funeral flashed behind your eyes, and how you hadn't been allowed to stand near the front with the rest of the friends and family. How Sandra had wailed, and smacked you across the face in the parking lot. You stared at your kitchen backsplash and just listened.
"Why, why did you do it?" She cried, and you bit the inside of your cheek.
"I'm sorry." You whispered.
"You left her alone, you killed her, you always brought her home expect that one fucking night and look what happened. It should've been you, it should've been you, you don't deserve this—"
And so it continued. Tears streamed down your face as your brain began to shut down as a defense mechanism. You just felt numb. Nobody else existed in the world except for you and this woman whose life you had ruined. No Katie, No Stina, Nobody that gave you their love and wanted you here. You didn't deserve what you had, not your success where it should've been your friend's, not your team, not your girlfriend. You were an imposter on this planet, a thief.
It turned out that going over to your place wasn't as simple as it seemed. Stina tried asking Jonas if she could be excused from practice, but he insisted that she stay just for an hour. Arsenal had a match with the Spurs in four days and Jonas wanted to go over strategies with the forwards. No skipping.
So Stina stayed—looking at her phone every thirty seconds for a text from you. There was nothing, and it freaked her out even more.
Whatever Jonas was saying, none of it was registering. She would ride the bench if she had to, it didn't matter to her now. Her leg bounced nervously, and Viv looked at her with concern on her face every couple of minutes. When Jonas went outside to take a quick call, she turned to Stina and immediately asked after her.
"What's wrong, is it something with Odi?"
Stina nodded, her tight lipped expression telling Viv all she needed to know. She gave Stina a look of sympathy and glanced at her watch, clearly wondering when the meeting would be over as well.
"Odi, something's wrong with her?" Beth butted in unabashedly.
You'd gotten the nickname for a few reasons: you'd danced for years as a child as a ballerina, which showed in your play. You were showy, and graceful, not the aggressive type. Like a swan, someone had once said to you—and the swan lake association stuck: Odette, or Odi for short. Arsenal's dancer.
Jonas re-entered the room before Beth could ask any more questions, saving Stina the struggle.
"For Christ's sake, let the poor girl go," Beth called out as Stina checked her phone for the hundredth time.
Jonas sent a look Beth's way, but decided to be merciful.
"Alright, Blackstenius, you're excused. But I'll be seeing you tomorrow."
Stina practically ran back to the locker room, throwing her kit into her bag and getting changed as fast as she could. A steady sense of dread was building in her. She decided to call you as she left the training grounds and walked to her car, hoping she could catch you and tell you she was coming. It would soothe her mind just to hear your voice.
But instead of your voice on the other end, Stina was met with the busy signal. That confused her even more—you weren't a fan of phone calls necessarily, and she knew your parents would be working now, so it was unlikely they would have called you.
She tried once more, hoping she had just happened to catch you at the tail end of a call, but you still didn't answer.
You had barely hung up the phone with Sandra before the tears began to pour from your eyes. It was as though time had made no difference and you were hearing of your friend's death for the first time. All the pain, all the self loathing that had fallen down upon you then still crushed your shoulders with its weight.
Your phone dinged again—a message from Katie.
Respond to me or I'm coming over there myself.
You didn't want Katie here. She had been there in years past, and for her to see you no better despite the time and therapy you put in, well you couldn't handle the shame.
I'm alive and well - see you tomorrow at training
You replied, knowing if you told her you were fine and left it at that she might kill you herself.
You giggled at the thought of her huffing and puffing at you, demanding you take better care of yourself like a surrogate mother. When your mother wasn’t around, Katie did a damn good impression of her. You never got away with anything if Katie had a say. You laughed through your tears, feeling like every nerve of yours was on a razor's edge.
A knock at the door barely registered in your mind as you wandered over to the couch, wanting nothing more than to curl up in a ball and waste away for the next twelve hours. Your head was beginning to hurt from all the crying, which only soured your mood further. For the first time you had the thought: I don't want to be alone.
You thought it must’ve been a hallucination, the way Stina appeared in front of you.
Stina wasn’t sure what to expect when she knocked on the door of your apartment. She had spent the entire drive over worrying about how she could find you, partially cursing Katie for giving her just enough info to get her mind going in a million unhelpful directions. The fact that you weren’t texting her back hadn’t helped either. The road before her blurred as she drove without thinking, her body getting her to your apartment building on instinct.
The elevator dinged at each floor and with it her heartbeat increased.
When you didn’t answer the door it dropped.
“Hello?” Stina called out, having opened the door with the spare key you had given her a few months ago. She cursed herself for not staying with you last night when you looked so weighed down, so tired. She’d let you convince her you were fine—something she wouldn’t do again anytime soon.
When she turned the corner from your kitchen into the open space of your living room she spotted you. There you were, curled up on the couch in a small ball, silent.
“Did you hear me knock?” She asked softly, approaching you.
You didn’t reply, didn’t even look at her.
She slowly reached out a hand to place it on your head gently, when you turned and looked at her. It frightened her—the look in your eyes. She hadn’t ever seen them so empty.
“Stina?” you whispered, confusion present in your tone.
“Yes, min kärlek, jag är här.”
She put a hand softly on your face, cupping your cheek.
“You’re really here?”
There were tears beginning to gather in your already red eyes. Stina felt her throat constrict. You’d been crying, clearly a lot by how swollen your face was.
Stina pulled you up and into her arms easily, shifting you so she could sit on the couch with you in her lap.
“What’s wrong?” she asked gently, remembering that you had said once that hearing her speak her native Swedish calmed you down.
You wiped your eyes, lip still trembling slightly.
“Did Katie say something? Or Jonas?”
Stina wiped your cheeks with the pad of her thumb, brow creased with worry.
“Katie said today was hard for you, that’s it. Promise.”
You went silent, thinking.
“I was going to tell you. I promise, I meant to. But it just never seemed like a good time, or I just wanted to avoid it as long as possible…you see, Katie met me not long after it happened, she was there, it’s different. I didn’t trust her with this and not you on purpose. She can’t help but know.” You shifted off of Stina’s lap, curling in on yourself next to her so your skin wasn’t touching.
“I hate myself for it. I do, really. And every time I tell someone, they might hate me too, I know that. And I just couldn’t bear it. I couldn’t give you the chance to hate me.”
Stina put a hand on your shoulder, biting her lip to contain a small sob when you flinched away from her. It was as if you weren’t even there in front of her. All of the grace and kindness and light that had been there just a few days ago seemed to have been swallowed by darkness. To hear you say the words ‘I hate myself’? Stina could cry at the thought of it. Those were words that should never come from your mouth. It was like a knife in her ribcage.
“Min söta… älskling”
“Don’t call me that,” you sobbed, putting your hands over your eyes and hiding your face from her.
"Snälla, låt mig hjälpa dig, please, I want to help.”
You shook your head, face still obscured from Stina’s view.
This was horrible. Stina felt as though she’d eaten something rotten the way her stomach churned. She was helpless, completely in the dark. Here she was, the person who was supposed to take care of you and love you, and she could hardly do anything. All she could think to do as you cried quietly was pull you into her side and rock you slowly. A melody popped into her head—one her mother had sang to her as a child when she was ill.
Stina softly sang, trying not to feel embarrassed by her voice. You were beginning to calm, your hands dropping from your face to her shirt, holding it close. By the time she was finished, the room was quiet, empty of your cries. You were clinging to her, your face buried in the crook of her neck as if you were ashamed of the comfort you needed.
“What was that song?” you asked, voice hoarse.
“It’s a lullaby. I can’t remember the name.”
Stina felt you nod against her skin.
She opted not to say anything further. You were exhausted, she could tell. Anything you wanted to say, you needed to volunteer.
After a few moments, she felt your grip on her shirt tighten.
“When I was nineteen, my best friend died.”
Whatever Stina had been expecting to come out of your mouth, that wasn’t it. She sucked in a breath, trying to remain unaffected. You needed her strength.
“We had been friends for years, since we were kids. And we’d gotten in this huge fight over something… uni I think. I had an offer to play professionally. I had been drinking, so had she. And I always walked her home, always, when she had been drinking. The way to her house was a bit sketchy, you know? So I figured two people were better than one if anything happened. But the things she said to me that night… I’d never been so upset in my life.”
You took a breath,
“So I refused to walk her. She didn’t press, just turned up her nose and walked away, didn’t even say goodbye. And I waited for my bus. The next morning I get a call from her mum—she’s been killed.”
Stina could barely trust herself to breathe.
“I let it happen, I’m the reason she died.”
“No—” Stina began, but you cut her off.
“When they held the funeral, I wasn’t allowed to say anything. I wasn’t allowed anywhere but the very back of the church, because they all knew it was my fault. And still, they know it, they remind me of what happened, what I’ve done. I stole her life!”
“Stop!” Stina demanded, her face flushed with anger. You were taken aback by her passion, and quieted. “You did not steal anything, you didn’t kill her, it isn’t your fault!” She grabbed your hand as you pulled back from her.
“You lost your best friend in such a horrible way, and nobody checked in? Nobody held you?”
You opened your mouth to speak, but this time Stina silenced you.
“I want you to tell me what you mean by ‘they remind you’ of what happened.”
You refused to meet her eyes.
“It’s not good. Not for me or her… she calls me, my friend’s mom, to talk.” You hesitated, but explained the routine to your girlfriend when she fixed you with a look.
“That’s…” Stina seemed at a loss for words, “you are the strongest person I know. And you rake yourself across hot coals for a crime that isn’t even yours. For a woman who wants to see you suffer, who can’t accept your healing. That isn’t right. You did not kill her. That is someone else’s burden to carry.”
You burst into tears again.
You must’ve fallen asleep at some point, because the next time you wake up you’re in bed, and Stina is wrapped protectively around you. Her warmth encases you; she holds you more protectively than usual, her arms shielding you from the world.
Eventually the two of you get back up, though not before Stina wraps you in a crushing embrace and lets you know she’s staying for a couple of days. No negotiating.
She makes dinner, you clean. It’s the first time you’ve eaten all day, and you think she can tell by the way she watches you intently. You feel cared for, and it’s a little overwhelming. Stina doesn’t let you out of her sight save a few trips to the bathroom and one brief call from her sister that she has to take.
You didn’t expect things to shake her up so much.
She helps you clean the wounds on your palms, grimacing at the sight of them once you unfurl your fingers for her. You try to tell her you can deal with them yourself—especially with how much it seems to upset her—but she isn't having it. You see her set her brow and concentrate on cleaning and bandaging the damaged skin, tears only glazing her eyes as you hiss in pain.
Eventually you convince her that you're fine enough to settle down on the couch and watch a movie. She insists on having you in her lap—something that you find equally as comforting. Stina isn't typically all that tactile, but now each moment apart from you seems to worry her.
You're about halfway into the film and slowly drifting off into her chest when you feel her whisper something into your skin. You think she assumes you're asleep (and you nearly are) but you make out her voice slightly.
"Tack Gud att du är här." She repeats it, and soon you can feel the drops of her tears hitting your shoulder.
"Stina…" you whisper, repositioning yourself to face her.
"förlåt" she says, wiping her eyes.
"You don't have to be sorry… It was an intense day." You press a kiss to her cheek.
"I was so worried," Stina starts, and you figure it's best not to interrupt her, "when Katie said that you might be struggling, I couldn't think of anything else. You can't hurt yourself anymore, please." Stina takes your bandaged hand.
"If you were gone one day, I don't know how I'd cope."
"You don't have to worry about that, ever."
"You are the most important thing in my life." Stina's lip trembles, and you wonder how you're managing to keep it together.
You pull her into another kiss, lips sore from how you had abused them earlier. The pain reminds you of the struggle of the day, but Stina's hand holds the depths in front of you at bay.
"I'll always be here." She promises.
You begin to think of something lighter. Of an ounce of forgiveness. Of a year that does not revolve around the rising and setting of the sun on this one day. A moment of peace afforded to yourself. The thought passes your mind—you do not deserve this. You instead think of love.
