{12/3/17}: Started off the day with brunch at.. I forgot the name haha. Then Jessie went to her conference, while we went to the Coca Cola eye! Got to chit chat over some yummy drinks and pastries~ then we went to stlcop alumni night.. and stuffed ourselves w free appetizers 馃槀. Then spontaneously went to this mini amusement park where we rode this crazy slingshot + swing rides!! Swings were actually SO scary... like way more than the slingshot 馃槺 but it was fun! #happydays #day1349

Abby, I hope your birthday was as lit as our first year living together 馃敟馃敟馃敟 I'll never forget all the crazy times we had, and I'll always cherish our bonding nights over face masks, onesies, and praying for the basics. Stay classy, my friend (hopefully this time you didn't puke in front of the stlcop garage). (at Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis)

Submitted by "Confused and Hurt" "I've tried so many times to reach out to my roommate. I always ask when she's free to meet up and make an effort to talk to her. At this point I feel like giving up. I don't know why, but she ignores me completely and asks like we were never friends. I called my mom for advice, and she told me just to ignore her and pretend like it's not a big deal. People are so different from each other, and some people are just not meant to be in your life. This is a hard realization, but my mom also told me this is how life is. Going through things like this will make me a more well-rounded person and will prepare me for bigger and worse situations in the future."

Submitted by "Lost a Friend" "Some time ago my roommate and I got into a fight because of what another girl spread about me. We talked and I thought we settled everything, but she kept being passive-aggressive and even spread rumors about me herself. I've tried talking to her but she keeps pretending there's no tension between us. It's gotten to the point where she doesn't even acknowledge me. I feel bad for her because she can't voice her opinions to me and refuses to even try to keep our friendship going. I would just like to know what is going through her head and why she's acting the way she is. She told me once that she was "jealous" of me, but that's not a good excuse to cut of a strong friendship. I have lost one of my best friends, but I guess it was for the best. College has shown me that there are so many different people out there in the world, and it's best to keep your true friends close to you and not let anyone else bother you. Friendships will fade, and you will just have to move on."

When I was first diagnosed with postpartum depression, I thought that it was a sign from the universe that I wasn't fit to be a parent. I spent months struggling to do the most basic, "natural" things and felt like a failure in all of them including breastfeeding my child. Fortunately, with the help of my family, a therapist and effective medication, I came to accept that I was not doomed as a parent. For me, there is nothing "natural" about the act of parenting - it is constant and frequently challenging work and takes time and practice. However, it also comes with amazing rewards: the warm glow you get the first time your child says, "I love you, Mommy", the pride you feel when she helps another child up after falling on the playground, and the excitement you feel when she shares her hopes and dreams with you, even when they include growing up to be a "bird" or a superhero :) I know I am far from being a perfect parent; what I am, though, is a parent striving every day to be better. This gives me hope.
