Coronavirus Pandemic: Trump Asserts ‘Total’ Power to Lift Lockdown

Donald Trump, going against the governors and legal experts, has asserted ‘total’ authority to lift the nationwide lockdown owing to the Coronavirus Pandemic. “The President of the United States calls the shots,” said Mr. Trump arguing with reporters during a combative press conference. Contrary to that the U.S. Constitution proposes the states to maintain public safety and order.

Acknowledging the fact that the United States has become the global epicenter of the Coronavirus pandemic with 587,815 confirmed cases and 23,654 people have been died, ten states on the U.S. East and West coasts are developing their plans to lift their firm stay-at-home instructions.
