truly truly ecstatic over the fact that Oliver and Ryan seem to be on the same page about telling a story about a close intimate platonic relationship between a queer man and a straight guy. like yeah obviously it would be very cool if Buck and Eddie got together but do you know how tired I am of "the gay best friend is in love with the straight protagonist" trope? its exhausting and is ALWAYS a byproduct of heterosexuals writing gay people bc they think every gay person has to unequivocally be in love with the nearest straight person. it's so frustrating watching the audience treat the gay character as pathetic or desperate or at worst predatory or misogynistic towards the straight protags female love interests. that does way more harm than good and I'm happy we're all on the same page about that

underrated thing about buddy daddies is that we know it's all going to be okay. literally the whole first sequence of the show is a flashforward showing how they prioritize miri above all else and are a happy (dys)functional family. without the flashforward there'd be more fear about what's gonna happen to them as a family but this show isnt ABOUT the assassin shit it's about this ragtag family overcoming all the odds and despite it all theyre gonna turn out okay

how do you think the show should handle buck feelings realization if they go for buddie because my only issue with the last episode was how much it, like, friendzoned eddie in bucks pov. (that's like a pretty minor issue obviously, like i'd always rather have bi buck and no buddie than nothing, and i agree that if both of them went from identifying as str8 to dating each other it would feel like a wattpad novel lmao.

I think Buck isn’t really going to Get It until Eddie dates a man himself, because to him Eddie is a non-option; he’s unattainable, and unless Eddie shows with undeniable clarity that he IS an option Buck is never going to examine how his feeling for Eddie could be something more.

In the meantime I love seeing Buck discover himself through Tommy so I’d wait 5 more seasons for Buddie if they decided they needed that.
