A/N: Writing this mostly for me as a comfort since my dog just died, but I'm letting you guys enjoy it as well. It is mostly just a love letter to Steddie and miscommunications. You're going to see a little bit of my weirdness in this. Also, a little bit of a love letter to Trans people, too. I love trans!Eddie.
Leah Henderson stood in the mirror as she stared at her reflection. It was strange how she loved the way she looked, but at the same time, she's always doubted that anyone but her would ever find this attractive. She was wider than she was tall with boobs bigger than. . . Well, actually, she didn't think there was anything bigger than her boobs. Boobs. Boobs. Boobs! Leah giggled. What a funny word. She twirled around, her skirt flaring out and grabbed her boobs in her hands. Gah! Why were they so goddamn big? She flipped her curly auburn hair over her chest and boinged one of her curls before putting it over her lip like she had a mustache. Leah nearly screamed when there came a knock on her bedroom door.
"Leah?" Her brother's voice floated through the door. "You've been in there for a while. Are you sad because you knocked something over with your boobs again?"
Leah sighed but smiled fondly anyway. Dustin could be a nosy pain in the ass but he meant well. She opened the door, being reminded again that she was the same height as her much younger brother when they came face to face.
"No, butthead, that's not it," Leah said and pouted. "I miss Steve and Eddie. I kind of wish I went with them."
"Look, I miss them too, but we hang out with them enough as it is, especially you," Dustin said.
"What's that supposed to mean?" She asked with a scowl. "Aren't you the one who's always up their asses?"
"And you're the one who always interrupts their date night," Dustin said.
"I do not! They just started dating! They don't have an official date night yet!" Leah said. "They're the ones inviting me to hangout!"
"Leah, why do you think they went away on vacation? If you were there, you'd just make things worse for them and for yourself," Dustin said.
"You mean like I always do, apparently? They were so goddamn tired of me that they had to run away to fucking California to get away from like Joyce did, their own personal monster from the Upside Down?!" Leah exclaimed, tears in her eyes.
"Leah, that's not what I meant!"
Leah slammed the door in his face, locked it, and threw herself on her bed as she broke down in tears. Maybe Dustin was right. Maybe she always makes things worse. It's why Steve and Eddie left. It's why their father had left. It was all her fault. She ignored the knocking on her door and proceeded to cry into her pillow until she fell asleep. She continued to ignore Dustin for several days, and even on the day that Steve was supposed to return with Eddie. She had spent days agonizing in her room over it. She did spend too much time with Steve and Eddie, hoping for something that clearly would never happen. She decided to change that. She was almost out the door to leave for her date when Dustin stopped her.
"I'm so sorry, you know that's not what I meant. I was just trying to give Eddie and Steve the privacy that they deserve after all of the attention Eddie got," Dustin said, his lip quivering.
"I know, Dusty, I know you didn't mean it," Leah said with a sigh. "Look, we'll talk later. My date is waiting for me. I just need to move on. Just move forward from Steve and Eddie. They do deserve privacy."
"Why are you making it sound like they're your ex? Or maybe you're in love with them," Dustin chuckled, and Leah bit her lip as his face fell in realization. "Holy shit. You're in love with them."
Suddenly, the door burst open. Eddie strolled in with open arms, a wide grin on his face.
"We probably should have gone straight home first, but we wanted to stop by and see our favorite Hendersons. . . Well, don't everyone come running to greet us all at once," Eddie said. "What's going on here?"
Leah rolled her eyes and brushed by Steve as he was coming in.
"Jesus, what's her problem?" Steve asked.
"Who's that guy, and why is she getting into his car?" Eddie scowled, his face pressed right up against the window.
"That's her date," Dustin replied.
"Her what?" Steve and Eddie asked as they watched her drive off.
Steve whirled around, shutting the door, and placed his hands on his hips.
"Why was your sister so upset?" He asked, and Dustin winced.
"It's kind of my fault," he replied.
"What did you do, you little shit?" Eddie asked as he turned on him.
"It wasn't what I was implying at all, but it kind of sounded like I was implying that you ran away to California to get away from her but really it was the assholes in this town. And I might have said that it would only make things worse if she were there, but only like as a third wheel scenario. Those situations suck!" Dustin exclaimed.
Eddie shrieked, took off Dustin's hat, and began hitting him with it.
"It's the complete opposite, you asshole!" Eddie exclaimed.
"Stop! Stop!" Dustin yelled, and finally Eddie gave him back his hat.
"We're completely in love with her, but we thought it would freak her out if we asked her to join our relationship," Steve sighed.
"Oh shit! Oh. Shit, I fucked up big this time!" Dustin exclaimed.
"You sure did," Eddie glared.
"Look, she's going on a date with another guy thinking that you two want to be as far from her as possible, but the truth is that you two love her and she loves the both of you! I made her think that it was the worst thing in the world, but I swear, I didn't mean to hurt her," Dustin cried.
"We know you didn't, buddy," Steve said. "You need to calm down and tell us where they're going."
"She didn't say," Dustin said meekly.
"Okay. So, we either look all over town or we wait here," Eddie said as he paced the living room.
"There is a third option," Dustin said.
"Which is?" Steve asked.
"Call El and have her look for Leah," Dustin said.
"Nope! Not only would that be a violation of her privacy, but it would also be using El's powers for our own personal gain. Not very wise," Eddie sighed. "As much as I don't like it, we're just going to have to see what she decides when the date is over."
"And if she falls head over heels for this guy?" Steve asked.
Eddie sighed and placed his hands on Steve’s hips.
"There's no way she'd choose some stranger over Steve Harrington," Eddie replied. "No fucking way."
Leah sobbed as she walked home, shoes in hand. She should have known it was too good to be true. He was so nice to her, so understanding. He had been the first guy she had liked since Steve and Eddie, but she should have known that he didn't really want her. She prayed for rain to wash it all away, but it was a clear night, not a dark cloud in the sky. When she got home, her mother's car wasn't there reminding her that she was working the night shift. Eddie's van was still there, which meant Steve and Eddie were still there. Leah cursed her rotten luck. She couldn't let them see her like this, and she also couldn't go into the house like this either. She walked around the back of the house towards the garden hose, wincing when she bumped into the patio table. Leah wiggled out of her dress. She turned on the water and started spraying down the piece of clothing that was soaked in pigs' blood. Suddenly, the back door flew open, and Steve came out wielding a bat while Eddie held out a chair.
"Leah?!" Eddie and Steve yelled, immediately dropping their weapons.
"What the fuck happened to you?" Eddie asked.
"Okay, so, this looks bad," Leah said. "But this is isn't my blood."
"I don't think that makes us feel any better!" Steve exclaimed.
"Well, she's not hurt," Eddie said.
"It's pigs' blood," Leah said, rolling her eyes as she wrung out her dress. "Yeah, I think this is ruined. Probably my underwear, too. Can you guys fetch me my robe?"
Eddie and Steve sighed before sharing an angry look with each other.
"Carrie," they said together.
"Was it your date who did this?" Eddie asked.
"Yeah, turns out the whole thing was a joke," Leah laughed darkly.
"Name. What's his name?" Steve asked.
"It's - I'm not going to tell you," she replied and sighed. "It was just a prank. Can someone please fetch me a towel and a robe?"
"It was assault!" Steve exclaimed.
"Look, I just want to rinse myself off so I don't drip all of this blood all over the house, go inside, take a shower, crawl into bed, and have a good fucking cry! Okay?!" Leah snapped.
"Of course, baby," Eddie said softly. "I'll go get you those things."
Leah rolled her eyes and started taking off the rest of her clothes. She sprayed herself down and flipped her hair over to get that, too. Steve quickly turned around. When Eddie came back, he quickly yelped and put his hands over his eyes.
"Do I look that ugly naked?" Leah asked.
"No!" Steve and Eddie exclaimed.
"I want to bite your thighs," Eddie blurted out.
Leah blushed, having witnessed Eddie in action biting the things that he liked.
"Yeah, okay," Leah said awkwardly, unsure of what to do with that information. "Towel?"
Eddie blindly started to walk over to her. Leah sighed before walking over to him and slapped his hand away from his eyes. He yelped but handed her the towel. She dried herself off, and once she was finished, she handed Steve the towel. Leah turned around to find Eddie holding the robe open for her. She turned around and put her arms through. She felt Eddie's arm wrap around her waist, his fingers brushing against the skin of her belly, and he closed the robe before tying it off. He pulled her closed her hugged her tightly, brushing his lips against her ear.
"I'm so sorry, sweetheart. They're going to burn in hell for what they did," Eddie whispered.
"Thank you," she whispered.
"I'll dispose of your clothes," Steve said, kissing her cheek.
"Thank you," Leah said.
Eddie wrapped an arm around her and led her inside. Dustin caused them both to yell when he jumped out at them. He was holding out Tews. Leah held a hand to her chest, glaring at her brother.
"You know very well, Dusty, that Tews is NOT an attack cat," Leah replied.
"What happened?" Dustin asked.
"Ask Steve when he comes back inside," she said. "I'm going to go take a shower."
Eddie followed her to her bedroom, where she started pulling out a large black and yellow night shirt. Just then, they both heard the sound of Steve explaining what happened to Dustin.
"THAT SON OF A BITCH!" Dustin yelled.
"Where the hell are you going?!" Steve asked.
"TO COMMIT MURDER! HE WANTS TO SEE BLOOD?! I'LL SHOW HIM BLOOD!" Dustin yelled.
"I guess you don't want hot chocolate then, Conan," Steve said sarcastically.
"With the little marshmallows, please," Dustin said.
Leah bent over laughing as Eddie did the same. She walked into her ensuite bathroom before popping her head back out again.
"Could you come with me?" She asked Eddie.
"Into the bathroom or into the shower?" Eddie asked.
"Whatever you want to do," she shrugged.
Eddie followed her into the restroom and watched as she took off her robe before hopping into the shower. He stood outside the shower awkwardly for a moment, trying to decide what to do before he heard her sniffling. Eddie immediately stripped down and stepped into the shower. He turned her around and pulled her into her arms, cradling her against his chest. She cried for a while as he held her before she pulled back and looked at the scars on his chest.
"Do you miss them sometimes?" She asked.
"My breasts? Nope, not at all," Eddie grinned. "Why are you asking?"
"I don't know because sometimes I hate mine," she replied.
"May I?" He asked, motioning towards her breasts.
"Yeah."
He cupped them gently, holding them up.
"When you hold them, do they feel like yours?" Eddie asked.
"As mad as I get at them, I also love them, so yeah, they feel like mine," Leah replied.
"Whenever I held mine, they never felt like mine. I didn't hate them. It just felt like they didn't belong there, you know," Eddie said.
"Maybe they're somewhere out there helping a woman who's in a similar situation," Leah said.
"That's a nice thought," Eddie grinned softly. "I fucking hope so."
"After you told me and Steve, I kind of questioned myself for a while. I still am, and while I don't believe I'm like you, it's nice to question it, to not feel like you're just one thing, and maybe I'm not. There's just this fluidity to it, I guess, and when I look at you, I question myself, but in a very good way. I think it's so beautiful, and so are you," Leah said. "I'm really glad you're a part of my life, and I really hope that I didn't scare you and Steve off."
"You didn't, sweetheart, you could never," Eddie replied.
He leaned his forehead against hers and let the water wash over them, the conversation with it. Suddenly, Eddie leaned back again to look at her.
"You broke a glass with your boobs again, didn't you?" He asked.
"Eddie!" She snapped before sighing. "Yes."
Once they got out of the shower, they dressed and wrapped their hair up into a towel. Eddie winked and hip checked her on the way out of the bathroom. Steve was coming in with a tray of snacks and drinks as they were leaving the bathroom.
"I made hot chocolate and popcorn. I also got you those big marshmallows that you like," Steve said, placing them on the nightstand. "I grabbed some pretzels, too."
"Thanks, Stevie," Leah said.
"Do you want us to stay?" Steve asked.
"Do you want to go?" She asked.
"We always want you around, I just thought you knew that," Steve said, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Yeah?" She asked, biting her lip.
Eddie plopped onto the bed and pulled her in between his legs.
"What our boy here is trying to say. . .do you want to be our girlfriend?" Eddie asked.
"You both want me?" She asked and he yanked her fully in to his lap.
"Hell yes," Eddie said.
Steve sat down on his other side, resting his head on Eddie's shoulder. Leah smiled when Steve pouted and widened his eyes.
"Please?"
"You don't have to beg. . . Unless you want to," Leah laughed. "Yes, I'll be your girlfriend."
Leah cupped Steve’s chin and gave him a kiss. She smiled as she leaned back, her eyes twinkling mischievously.
"Excuse me? Don't I get a kiss? I'm the one who asked?" Eddie asked.
"Hmm. . . Let me think about it. . . ," Leah giggled.
Eddie growled and pushed her back onto the bed as he began tickling her sides.
"You little minx," Eddie said and moved to kiss her but caught her cheek instead. "Leah!"
Leah giggled before pulling Eddie into a hard kiss, wrapping her arms around his neck. He broke the kiss and brushed her nose with his while Steve collapsed on her other side.
"I like your shirt. You look like a cute bumblebee," Steve said and kissed her cheek.
"It's new. I got it because it reminded me of you and Steve," she blushed.
"Do you hear that, Eddie? We have our own shirt," Steve said, his eyes lighting up.
"I heard," Eddie said, his own eyes twinkling.
"I love you both," Leah said fondly.
"I know," Eddie said seriously.
"Eddie Munson! You did not just Han Solo Me!" Leah gasped and pushed him off the back. "Take it back and tell me you love me!"
"I did tell you, baby," Eddie cackled from the floor.
"I love you!" She said furiously as she looked over the side of the bed.
"I know!"
"Eddie! Damn it!"
Leah grabbed her pillow and began hitting Eddie with it.
"You know, he did the same damn thing with me!" Steve exclaimed as he looked over the side with her. "Eddie, if you don't be honest with her, she's the only one who will ever get to see my bare ass!"
"I'll be good!" Eddie said, sitting up and cupping her face. "Sweetheart, you make everything so much better. You make us better, and we are so maddenly in love with you. . . I love you."
Leah smiled and cupped his face right back. She leaned forward like she was going to kiss him but paused right before his lips.
"I know," she whispered and Eddie pouted.
"I love you!" Steve laughed.
"You know, our hot chocolate is going to become cold chocolate," Eddie said, rolling his eyes.
So, now here they were, sitting on her bed drinking cocoa and tossing marshmallows into Eddie's mouth.
"I have to ask. When did you realize that you loved both of us?" Steve asked.
"Oh, that's easy," she said softly. "When my dog died a few months ago, and you guys never left my side. I don't think that I would have gotten through it without you. You only made it better."
"I came late into her life, but Shadow was a great dog," Eddie said fondly.
"We're never leaving your side again. . .I mean, within reason," Steve said.
"We have to go to the bathroom at some point," Eddie said, and Leah giggled.
And later that night, she fell asleep between the two men that she loved, her heart lighter than air and feeling like she could whatever horrors the world threw at her with them by her side.

𝓒𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝓞𝐧𝐞: 𝓣𝐡𝐞 𝓥𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝓞𝐟 𝓦𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝓑𝐲𝐞𝐫𝐬
The loud beeping siren was almost deafening, practically echoing through the entire lab... Those remaining have barely recovered from the recent massacre, and all Eleven wanted was out...
As the lights flickered, leaving an eerie atmosphere in the dark hallways of Hawkins Lab, the distorted and monstrous figure yanked up one of the scientists before the squelching of blood and guts being torn apart was all that could be heard from that wing of the lab.
"Something is coming... something that is hungry for blood..." Mike spoke, leading the Dungeons and Dragons campaign with a dramatic tone.
"It lurks in the shadows, stalking its prey..." Mike continued before Will spoke up, a mixture of fear and curiosity laced in his tone as the young brunette sat up straight.
"What is it!?" Will asked frantically, Dustin being quick to respond.
"What if it's the demogorgon?" He asked, his words slightly slurred into a lisp from his missing front teeth.
"It's not the demogorgon!" Lucas soon added, trying to calm Dustin and Will before Will Byers sat back in his seat with a worried expression.
"Oh no... we are so screwed if it's the demogorgon!" He whined, Lucas trying to reassure Will once more before Mike slammed down one of the playing pieces in front of the party.
"Ah... But it is an army of troglodytes, they are storming into the area!" Mike announced as Lucas leaned back in his seat a bit.
"Told ya..." He said smugly, his lips curling up into a rather proud smirk as the others let out a small laugh of amusement... and relief...
Well, that was until Mike's expression went cold... His jaw dropped slightly as he looked over his shoulder in fear, it was just enough to strike the same placebo of fear into his friends.
"Wait... do you guys hear that.?" He asked, breathing becoming slightly laboured and Mike glanced around before ultimately looking at the others with wide eyes.
"The stomping... Boom... boom... boom..." Mike said as Will brought his nervous hands up to his mouth, gnawing at his nails for a moment as the suspense grew.
"BOOM!" Mike then shouted, his voice enough to cause the others to jump before he picked up another piece.
"Those vicious stomps came from... The demogorgon!" He shouted, placing the large and rather gangly monstrous piece in the middle of the table before the others shouted and moaned with disapproval.
"Ah... We are in deep shit now..." Dustin said as the others glanced over at Will, waiting for his action.
"What are you gonna do?? Will, quick!" Lucas shouted as Will grabbed at his dark hair in panic and worry.
"I-I don't know!!" He whined out, glancing around the table before reaching for the dice.
"What about a fireball??" Dustin suggested in a frantic voice before Lucas nodded.
"Yes! Good idea, fireball him!!" He added, watching between the table, the others and Will in a panic.
"But... But I need to roll at least thirteen or higher! I can't do that!" Will panicked, holding the dice in his hands but not yet shaking it.
"Come on! Don't be a pussy! Roll the dice and fireball him!!" Lucas insisted before Mike slammed his hands down on the table causing it to shake slightly.
"The demogorgon is tired of your silly human bickering!! He begins to stomp towards you! Boom! Boom! Boom!" Mike shouted, nose scrunching slightly as he yelled.
"Okay! Okay!" Will said, tossing the dice finally. From his frantic throw, the dice flung off the table as the others quickly got up to search for it, desperate to know what was rolled...
"mike... mike..." the soft echo of a voice from upstairs was practically muted by the party's frantic scrambling and screaming in their search for the dice.
"Mike!" Karen called out from the top of the stairs, one hand resting on her waist as she looked at her son with disapproval at how late it was.
"Mom! We're in the middle of a campaign!" Mike shouted up at the woman before Karen crossed her arms over her chest.
"You mean the end?" She asked, glancing down at her watch before pointing to her wrist.
"It is fifteen after..." The woman reminded her son before walking away to clean up dinner.
Sighing as Mike glanced back at the others, he scrambled up the staircase to his mother in desecration.
"Mom! Just like... fifteen more minutes, please!" He begged, determined to finish their campaign that night before Karen shook her head.
"No, Michael... It's a school night, I just got Holly to bed." She said, obviously not budging on the curfew.
"You can finish next weekend." Karen added as her eldest son came down the steps, primarily curious with all the sudden shouting.
"No, mom, please! This campaign took two weeks to plan, how did I know it was going to take ten hours??" Mike asked as Shepherd raised his eyebrows at his younger brother.
"You've been playing that stupid fantasy game for ten hours?" He asked, his tone relatively judging as he reached across his mother to take a twisler off the table.
"It's not a stupid fantasy game!" Mike defended as Shepherd let out a small snicker, swatting his brother slightly with the twisler.
"Sounds like a stupid fantasy game..." The eldest Wheeler sibling said, feeling like he was no longer entertained by the situation as he walked back upstairs to his room.
"Sounds like a stupid fantasy game..." Mike mumbled in a mocking tone before turning to his father.
"Dad! You think just fifteen more-" he began before Ted looked up at his son with a serious lack of amusement, all of his focus on the television he was trying to fix.
"I think you should listen to your mother..." He commented in a relatively monotone voice before Mike scoffed in disbelief.
Downstairs, the others were getting their jackets on while still looking around for the dice.
"Found it! Uh, does a seven count..?" Will asked, holding the dice in his hand before Lucas glanced over at the boy.
"Did Mike see it?" He questioned before Will quickly shook his head as Lucas grinned.
"Then it doesn't count." Lucas said, patting Will's shoulder slightly before they went to go upstairs.
"Hey! Guys, you want this?" Dustin asked, holding up the box of pizza they had gotten earlier that still had a slice left. Both shaking their heads, Will and Lucas continued to make their way upstairs as Dustin let out a small sigh.
He knew exactly what he was going to do with the pizza...
"He's nice and all... I mean, kinda, but I just-" Nancy spoke into the phone, having had an on and off situation with Hawkins golden boy, Steve Harrington. It was kind of a 'will they, won't they', but Nancy found herself not really feeling the relationship... At least, something in it didn't really seem like, well, her...
"Nancy! Hey..." Dustin greeted from the door, trying to get his best friend's older sister's attention.
"There was some pizza left... I was wondering if you-" Dustin offered before Nancy gave the young boy a pitiful smile and closed the door to her room.
"Brutal..." Shepherd commented from his doorway, leaning against the frame with his arms crossed.
"I wouldn't let it get to you, though... She is always a bitch." The eldest Wheeler commented, walking over to Dustin before opening the pizza box.
"I'll save it for her... I'll even tell her it's from you." Shepherd said, taking the piece before beginning to eat it himself.
"But you're eating it..." Dustin said, obviously a bit deflated as Shepherd smirked at the boy.
"Oops..." He commented with a full mouth before walking away, Dustin letting out a sigh as he closed the now empty pizza box. As he walked downstairs, tossing the empty pizza box into the trash, Dustin thanks Mrs. Wheeler before heading outside with the others.
"Your sister has a stick up her but, and your brother is a royal jackass." Dustin said, picking up his bike.
"They always do..." Mike commented before Dustin spoke up again.
"Not Nancy... She used to be cool." Dustin added, him and Lucas taking off on their bikes before Will stayed back for a moment to talk with his best friend.
"Seven... It was a seven..." He said, Mike glancing over at Will with furrowed brows and obvious confusion. Pursing his lips slightly, Will began to elaborate.
"The roll... It was seven, so it looks like the demogorgon got me..." He said, beginning to pedal off to catch up with the others.
"But, anyway... see you tomorrow!" Will said rather cheerfully before disappearing into the darkness, the front garage light flickering slightly after Will left causing Mike to glance up at the light for a second before turning it off.
While the three continued to pedal away on their bikes, it didn't take long for Will to catch up to Dustin and Lucas... However, it was right before Lucas was pulling into his own residence, his house being the closest to the Wheeler's.
"See you guys tomorrow!" Lucas called out, biking up his drive as Dustin and Will came to a much slower pace to make sure Lucas got inside alright.
As they waved briefly to their friend, Dustin glanced over at Will with a wide grin.
"I'll race you... The loser has to give up one of their comics." he said, Will sighing at the bet as if he were thinking it over before quickly taking off before Dustin even had a chance to get his feet back on the pedals of his bike.
"That's not fair!!" He called out, trying to catch up to the young Byers boy before Will glanced back over his shoulder with a wild smile.
"I'll take your X-Men #134! Have it at school tomorrow!" Will called out, riding off into victory before Dustin sighed in agreement. Pedaling towards his own residence, the curly haired brunette was obviously defeated.
As for Will Byers, his high didn't last for very long... Letting out a thrilled and prideful laugh as he made his way home, Will was caught off guard by a long and gangly figure in the centre of the road.
With a gasp and a brief shriek, Will fell off his bike before glancing back at the monster; the one who was now obviously following him.
The young Byers boy began to run, taking off towards his own home as he struggled quickly to open the door. Slamming it shut with a panic, the loud barking of his dog made Will panic... Nowhere even felt safe, and when he knew he couldn't hide... he had to fight...
Taking off through the back entrance, Will ran to his family's shed and locked the door before scrambling for the gun... Thank god he knew a little bit from Jonathan...
As Will tried his best to load the rifle, he aimed it up at the door with full preparation to attack whatever came in... whatever he thought would force its way in...
Well, that was until the lights began to flicker, the lock slowly sliding off the runner before dropping as the chains left a deafening clank in his ears...
Then, silence... Will was gone, the mysterious entity was gone... it was as if nothing was even there to begin with...
The sound of snoring and television local news filled the trailer as the police chief, Jim Hopper, laid asleep on the couch.
The entire place was a wreck, the family still grieving over a loss that happened years ago... however, they all had their own way of grieving.
"Eat. I'm not giving you any money for breakfast at school." Sylvia said, tossing the plate of hardly heated up Eggo waffles in front of her younger sister.
Sylvia was the eldest of the Hopper children, and with their father's drunken nature lately, it seemed as if she was taking on a mother role.
"They aren't even warm." Savannah said, poking at the waffles with her fork before Sylvia rolled her eyes.
"You know how to use a microwave, don't you?" She asked, gesturing over to the small box that may or may not be plugged in.
"You know you can be a real bitch, don't you?" Savannah snapped back at her older sister, getting up with her plate and walking over to the microwave.
Visibly annoyed, but opting to bite her tongue, Sylvia grabbed the remote from the floor as she turned off the television and tapped her father's cheek.
"Dad, it's seven." She said, the man simply groaning and turning himself over dismissively.
"Screw it, be late... I don't really care." The vibrant blue eyed girl said before glancing over at Savannah.
"If you want me to drive you then hurry up... I'm not waiting forever." Sylvia said, grabbing her bag and making her way out to her car to wait on Savannah.
Sighing, the younger of the two remaining Hopper siblings pulled her Eggo from out of the microwave and walked over to her father, setting the plate in front of him.
"Hey, dad... You have to get up, okay? You're gonna be late." She said, Jim grunting before finally sitting up and looking at his youngest.
"Ugh... Hey, Savi..." he greeted, scrubbing his face with his hands before giving his daughter a small smile.
"Here... Eat some breakfast. I love you." She said, handing him her waffle before pressing a kiss to the chief's head.
"You off to school? Where is Sylvia?" Jim asked, sitting up and fixing his jeans that he wore carelessly to sleep the night prior.
"Outside. Being a bitch." Savannah said as Jim raised his finger at the girl.
"Hey! Watch that language!" He scolded, though Hopper wasn't exactly the best role model...
"It's true..." Savannah mumbled, heading outside to her sister's car where Blondie was already playing at near full volume.
"Geez, can you turn that down a little?" Savannah asked, reaching for the volume the second she got in the car before Sylvia swatted at her younger sister's hand.
"What are the rules in my car?" She hissed, glaring at her sister with an icy cold glare.
"Don't touch anything..." the two said in unison, Savannah's voice far more deflated as Sylvia nodded.
"Once you can drive and you have your own car, you can touch the radio." Sylvia said, lighting up a cigarette and pulling out of their rocky driveway to head towards the school.
Back inside, Jim was a bit upset with the wakeup... Not that he didn't love Savannah, he did more than he loved himself; more he was upset with how strained his relationship with Sylvia had become...
Sighing as he dragged his hands along his tired face, Jim Hopper got up and made his way to the washroom. With an already opened, yet half full can of beer, Jim downed the rest of it before stripping down to get his morning shower.
The water was a bit cold, mainly because he was the last one to shower that morning... as the chief scrubbed his short hair, Jim kicked off the water with the back of his heel before getting out soaking wet.
Water trickled down his body onto the floor as Jim dried off rather carelessly, his new focus being the pack of cigarettes that laid on the kitchen sink.
Opening them, the chief sighed when he noticed at least five were missing from the relatively new pack, deciding he needed to talk to his girls once they were home.
Placing the end of the cigarette between his teeth, Jim lit it up before carelessly swiping some deodorant on his armpits before getting himself dressed.
He was really looking forward to his morning coffee and contemplation at the station. However, there were other plans for him...
Glancing down at the table, Jim found his plate of Eggo waffles before feeling his heart sink slightly... Ultimately, however, the man couldn't help but smile.
Meanwhile, Joyce frantically searched the couches in her home for her keys as Jonathan helped to make breakfast.
"Where was the last place you had them, mom?" Diana asked, shuffling through the keys that hung up on the wall before Joyce let out a relieved sigh.
"Found them!" The woman said, shaking the keys as her two eldest children let out a sigh.
"Sit down and eat, mom... Really quick before you go, okay?" Jonathan said, moving some eggs from the frying pan onto a plate for Joyce before the woman glanced between her two children.
"Where is Will? Didn't either of you get him up yet?" She asked as Jonathan and Diana shared a brief glance.
"I was letting him sleep in a bit..." Diana said, Joyce running her hands through her hair with a bit of frustration.
"You know he is hard to wake up! Because of this he will be late... Will?" Joyce scolded before knocking on the door to her youngest son's bedroom.
"Will? Wake up, honey..." She said, slowly opening the door to reveal an empty room.
"Will did come home last night... right?" Joyce asked, Diana shrugging.
"I had a shift, mom... Jonathan was supposed to be here..." the brunette said as Jonathan soon went quiet, sinking down a bit as he continued to divide up the eggs.
"Jonathan? Did Will come home last night?" Joyce asked, her tone stern and mixed with worry for her youngest.
"I-I don't know... I wasn't here, I picked up a shift, too... I figured we could use the money!" Jonathan said, shrinking with a defensive tone before Diana turned to her brother.
"You mean to tell me you weren't even home last night? Jonathan, someone has to be here!" Diana scolded, pursing her lips slightly before glancing at their mother.
"He probably stayed at the Wheeler's... I'll give Karen a call." Joyce said, trying to keep some optimism as she went over to the phone.
Watching from the table, Jonathan and Diana listened to their mother's poorly hidden worry before trying to focus on their own food.
"We can get by if you don't pick up a shift... I wouldn't pick up a shift if I knew I had to be home when Will got back..." Diana said, picking at her eggs with a fork as the slight clinking sound scratched at her ears causing her teeth to hurt.
"I thought I would be back in time... Besides, Will is a smart kid, he can look after himself." Jonathan defended as his sister almost immediately rolled her eyes.
"No, Jonathan... He is twelve." She said, their bickering being silenced when Joyce hung up the phone.
"He... probably already left for school... I'm sure everything is fine." Joyce said, trying to calm her worry before picking up her purse.
"Actually, I'm gonna head out... Hurry up, you two are going to be late." Joyce said, quickly leaving the house as Jonathan let out a sigh.
"I'm gonna make some flyers... Just in case, okay?" He said as Diana rolled her eyes at the boy.
"Oh, now you're going to be a worried brother... real nice." She commented, sarcasm leaking through her tone as she got up from the table and grabbed her things to head off to classes as well.
As Mike biked up to the school with Lucas and Dustin, they kept their eyes open for any sign of Will... It wasn't until they found his spot empty on the bike rack that they felt the sudden drop of each of their hearts.
"He didn't bike here..." Lucas commented, chaining his ride up before Mike sighed.
"Maybe he walked? He might have gotten here extra early..." He said, a bit of hope in his voice. They were all obviously worried for Will...
"You know he is so paranoid about being late." Dustin added, adjusting his bookbag before Mahi and Ezra approached the two.
"Hey guys! Have either of you seen Will yet?" Mike asked, Ezra furrowing his brows for a moment with a bit of worry.
"We were actually coming to ask you the same..." he said. For Ezra, the thought of Will not being here managed to really break him... There was some sort of caring he had for the young Byers boy, but of course it was only that of friends... right?
"I'm sure he will be here... Or maybe he just isn't feeling good." Mahi tried to reassure the boys, gently placing her hand on Ezra's shoulder.
"Yeah, you're probably right..." Mike said, giving the girl a small smile. He was grateful to have Mahi as a friend, she was always so caring for the boys.
"Well, well... what do we have here?" A voice spoke up, one that the group knew all too well...
"I was watching something about a freak show with my parents last night, and I was wondering who would win... We have here, dark knight... frog face... toothless... malnourished... and freckles..." Troy said, gently pushing each kid with their respective insults.
"I think toofless will win." James said, mocking the slight lisp Dustin had before the two began to laugh.
"Don't you two have someone else to bother?" Savannah asked, walking up to Troy and James before raising her eyebrows at the two.
"Aw... and what is a little cop girl gonna do? Tell on us?" Troy taunted, Savannah taking a step closer to the two with little fear.
"I said go. You'll be late for class, but I'm sure you'll still fail it anyway." She snapped back, Troy and James simply rolling their eyes before walking away.
"You don't have to barge in everytime they bully us..." Lucas commented, Savannah turning around to look at the others.
"I don't? Looked like you all were just gonna take it... besides, I needed to get as far away from my sister as possible." Savannah said, already done with Sylvia for the day.
"Where is Will?" She asked, noticing the missing boy before Ezra looked down with a bit of hurt.
"We don't know... I guess he didn't come home last night and no one saw him." Mike said, glancing over his shoulder with a hope that Will would at least show up.
"Come on... We are gonna be late." Mahi insisted, helping to usher the others inside the school to their first class.
"So... Did he call?" Barb asked, rushing over to Nancy the second she saw her best friend in the hall.
"Keep your voice down!" Nancy hushed, glancing around for a moment before nodding.
"We talked... But, I just... Steve is great and all, but I just don't think I feel the spark I should." Nancy admitted, walking over to her locker.
"It's stupid... Just, forget I said anything. I know he likes me, so I guess I'll just see where it goes." The Wheeler girl insisted before Barb rolled her eyes.
"Come on, you are going to be so cool now... At least Steve wants to actually take you out and everything... Your stupid brother acts like he doesn't even want to be seen with me." Barb said, letting out a sigh.
"That's not true... He is probably just keeping a low profile because of how public everything was with Heather... I know Shep likes you." Nancy insisted, glancing over at her brother who stood with Tommy and Carol.
"When are you planning on telling her? Or are you just gonna keep riding it cause Shep's got a crush??" Tommy taunted his best friend, arm slung rather carelessly over Carol's shoulder.
"On Barb? You're fucking joking... It's only ever been a dare, my friend." Shepherd said, glancing over at his sister and 'girlfriend' before letting out a small sigh.
"What's your problem?" Sylvia asked, walking up to the three before her glance quickly landed on Tommy only to soon look away back at Shepherd.
"Shepherd has a crush on his little dare girlfriend..." Carol pouted, popping her gum slightly as Shepherd sent a glare at the strawberry blonde.
"Not a crush. Say, how about we invite her to Steve's party? I'll break the news then." Shepherd said, smirking slightly. Of course he banked on his friends being entirely too drunk to even process his feelings when he was around his sister's best friend.
"Right... Well, I'm gonna be late for chem. Good luck on your little crush, Shep..." Carol said, pouting her bottom lip out as she gently patted the boy's shoulder. Soon, the strawberry blonde turned to kiss her boyfriend as Sylvia clenched her teeth slightly in jealousy.
Of course Carol was her best friend, and at least publicly she had to respect the relationship she had with Tommy, but the situation was far more complicated than that.
"I'll see you." Carol said, pecking Sylvia's cheek playfully before heading off to her class, Shepherd glancing between Tommy and Sylvia.
"You keep your mouth shut... And I won't tell anyone about your little crush." Tommy said, taking Sylvia's hand and leading her away.
"It's not a crush!" Shepherd called out to the two, shaking his head in disappointment before heading outside to smoke before class.
Feeling the cool tile of the washroom walls against her back, Sylvia let out a small whimper that was quickly engulfed by Tommy's mouth.
"Quiet..." He mumbled, returning to their intense kiss before Sylvia pushed him away for a moment to breathe.
"We need to stop this..." She whispered, fingers anxiously tangling in Tommy's dark hair before ultimately returning to the needy kiss.
"Hmm- yeah... you sure sound like you want to stop this..." the boy replied, his words muffled by the kiss before allowing his lips to trail down Sylvia's cheek and jaw so she could talk.
"No... s-seriously... she is gonna find out, and... and I'm starting to like you..." Sylvia whimpered, her voice breathy and low before Tommy pulled away to look at her.
"Yeah? Well, I like you too..." He said, quickly returning to the kiss.
That was all they were... A lustful release, an exciting new opportunity... Tommy wasn't going to leave Carol, and Sylvia... she was searching for feelings she lost...
Walking into the station, Jim Hopper was already focused on the box of donuts that sat on the table, opening it up and humming softly to himself as his hand circled the delicious balls of dough before ultimately picking up a powdered one.
"Morning, Chief." Officer Powell greeted, both him and Officer Callahan having their feet kicked up on the desk as they read over some reports. The station, being, well, a police station gave a rather relaxed environment... At least for the employees.
"Oh good, you are here..." One of the station's secretaries said, rushing over to Jim as he nibbled on the powdered donut.
"Not now... Mornings are for coffee and contemplation..." He said, instantly dissing the woman's words before she continued to rush after him.
"No, Jim, you are not understanding... Joyce Byers is here, her son is missing! This is-" The secretary said, trying to rush after the Chief before Jim snapped at her rather annoyed.
"Coffee. And. Contemplation." He said, pausing when he saw Joyce in his office before she quickly turned around. The poor woman looked distraught and stressed, and to be completely honest, Jim felt his heart crack a tad bit.
"Hopper! I have been waiting for at least an hour for you to get here... Will is missing." Joyce said, still shaking from the stress of a worried mother before Jim sighed, ultimately walking over to his desk and sitting down across from Joyce.
"You don't think he ran off... When was the last time you talked to Lonny?" Jim asked, his instant thought being that Will may have ran off to be with his father. He was young enough to at least be curious, and at the mere mention of her ex, it seemed as if Joyce's eyes lit with a flame of absolute loathing.
"He did not go to Lonny. I know my Will, he... he is a sensitive kid..." Joyce said, still shaking as she wiped the staining tears from her cheeks with the sleeve of her jumper.
"Well, Joyce, you don't know that... Will is a boy, he might need that male figure in his life... I think you should reach out to Lonny and see." Jim said, Joyce leaning forward in her seat with a bit of anger.
"The least you can do is look into it... Think about Sara..." Joyce said, finally getting up and storming out feeling as if she did not reach any sort of solution.
Chewing on his bottom lip as he watched Joyce storm out of the station, Jim brought his hands up to his face before dragging them along his flesh before leaning back in his chair... He was obviously hurt that Joyce had the nerve to bring up Sara, but at the same he could understand the parental worry.
Benny's Diner, the real hot spot in Hawkins... For the elderly.
As the diner was fairly full, bustling with the retired community here for their morning brunches, Eleven found a back entrance to the building with the welcoming scent of fried and greasy diner food.
Her stomach growled, causing a slight pain of hunger from her recent lack of food. As Eleven found her way to the kitchen, letting her nose lead the way, she saw a single boat of fries just sitting on the counter, completely unattended...
Taking a handful, the young and curious experiment began to shovel the fried food into her mouth, the saltiness hitting her tongue as she chewed them into a mush. Albeit, not the most healthy of food, Eleven was desperate nonetheless for the chips that she was devouring desperately.
"Hey!" A voice shouted from the dining room, Eleven glancing up with a few stray chips hanging from her lips to see an angry Benny starting to storm towards her. Grabbing the boat, Eleven took off running before being caught by the restaurant owner, the boat of fries falling onto the ground as Eleven looked up at the man with complete fear.
"What are you doing here, son?" Benny asked, Eleven still shaking and obviously distressed... Maybe even lost, and Benny let out a sigh as he backed away from his intimidating and angry demenior to a much calmer one.
"You hungry? Where are your parents..." He asked, Eleven simply nodding without knowing what else exactly to say.
"Alright... Come on, son..." Benny said, leading the girl back into the kitchen before closing off the metal divider so none of his customers could see Eleven eating in the kitchen.
"Remember to do the homework tonight, I will be collecting it first thing tomorrow!" Mr Clarke said, a small group of children gathering around his desk as the remainder of the students left.
"Did it come?" Ezra asked, obviously very excited as Mahi glanced between her friend and her teacher.
"Yeah, did it?" She asked, folding her hands in front of her with anticipation. It was the look of disappointment and defeat on the teacher's face that made the kids feel a bit deflated, it wasn't until Mr Clarke grinned at the kids that Mahi jumped with excitement.
"It's here..." He said, gesturing for the kids to follow him to his office as they quickly filed behind him out into the hallway.
"What if we can talk to space!" Ezra said, obviously not expecting the radio to reach that far...
"What? Are you gonna talk to aliens?" Savannah teased, nudging the boy slightly as Ezra shrugged.
"What would you even say to an alien if you could talk to them?" Mahi asked before Mike let out a small laugh at her question.
"Beep boop..." The brunette answered his crush, Mahi looking over at Mike with shock and amusement before looking down to hide her obvious smile as she laughed.
"That's a robot, dumbass!" Dustin said before Lucas glanced over at the curly haired boy.
"Well, have you ever talked to an alien?" He asked, Dustin looking down with defeat before Lucas spoke up again, this time with a bit more pride in his voice.
"That's what I thought..." He said as Mr Clarke unlocked the door to his office, the kids quickly rushed inside.
"Careful now..." He warned them, Mike quickly picking up the headphones with the intention of putting them on before he looked over at Mahi, handing them off to her instead as Mr Clarke smiled at the obvious attraction the two had.
"What a gentleman you are being, Michael." Mr Clarke said, giving the boy a small nod as Mahi sat down in the seat and Ezra was quick to mess with the dials.
"So how far can this thing actually reach?" Ezra questioned, glancing up at his science teacher for a moment before Mr Clarke leaned against the door to watch the kids.
"How far do you think?" He asked before Savannah spoke up eagerly.
"Across the country!" She answered, Mr Clarke shaking his head as the young Hopper girl's jaw dropped.
"Across the ocean?" Savannah asked as Mr Clarke smiled.
"Close... Any more guesses?" He asked, Savannah taking a moment to think before grinning slightly.
"Australia?" She asked, the teacher nodding his head as he pointed to the girl, the kids obviously shocked at the reach of this extraordinary walkie talkie.
"Ello? Are there any kangaroos?" Mahi asked in a poorly conveyed Australian accent into the microphone, Dustin quickly moving in to speak into the microphone as well.
"Ello mate! If ye got any kangaroos, respond now!" Dustin shouted in the same poorly conveyed accent before Mr Clarke glanced back out into the hallway.
"Alright, alright... You guys are of course allowed back in here whenever you want. Just let me know, and I'll-" He began before seeing Chief Hopper and Officer Callahan walking down the hallway causing his eyebrows to furrow.
Hopper made his way towards Mr Clarke before seeing the exact children he was looking for, Savannah feeling her heart sink at the fact her father was even at the school... And especially with Will not being here... Especially with Will basically missing...
"You six... I need you to come with me..." Jim said, Officer Callahan smirking as he watched the children leave the room.
"Come along, little piggies..." Phil taunted, obviously trying to pull the intimidating bad cop attitude as they walked out of the room.
"So... Will Byers, he never went home last night... I need to know the last time each of you saw him." Jim said as Savannah furrowed her eyebrows at her father.
"In other words, you think we have something to do with his disappearance?" Savannah asked, crossing her arms before Phil spoke up.
"I don't know... Do you?" He asked, Jim instantly raising his hand in disapproval at his employee before Phil sat back in his seat again.
"I just wanna know if he said anything to you, or if you might have any idea where he might be..." Jim said, Mike being the first to speak up.
"He left my house last night and said I'll see you tomorrow... He was definitely planning on being here today." Mike explained before Dustin and Lucas nodded.
"That's true... And I was supposed to give him my X-Men #134. If he was getting that today, why would he not show up unless something happened?" Dustin reasoned before Ezra glanced over at the boy.
"You really think something happened to him?" He asked, obvious fear and worry in his voice before looking down at his hands as he began to rub at his knuckles nervously.
"How about you girls?" Phil asked, looking over at Mahi and Savannah.
"I saw him Friday when we were all leaving school." Savannah said, putting her hands up in defense before Mahi nodded.
"I saw him then, too... He didn't say anything about wanting to leave." She said, Phil and Jim sharing a glance for a moment before sighing.
"Okay... Go back to class." Jim said, dismissing the kids as Ezra stayed back for a moment.
"I just wanna know... Is he like, gonna be okay? Will has to still be alive, right?" He asked, eyes beginning to tear up with worry and fear.
"I just need to know he is going to be found and he is going to be okay..." Ezra explained before Jim let out a small sigh.
"We are gonna try our best, alright? Right now he is just missing..." the chief explained as Ezra nodded slightly.
"Go on to class, alright?" Jim said, getting up to bat Ezra's shoulder to give a bit of comfort before the boy got up and dismissed himself as well.
The day went by fairly stressful, I mean, how could it not? This was a missing child... and that was how the police found themselves searching the Byers residence for any sign of where Will may have gone...
Stricken by curiosity and a slight pull, Phil found himself going towards the outdoor shed before glancing back over his shoulder at his colleagues that were still searching the property.
A dim, red glow shone from a small hole in the wall... it was really only noticeable if you looked directly at it for an extended period of time, and when Phil walked over to the hole it felt as if his hearing began to dim.
Hardly even able to hear himself breathing, Phil leaned down to the small hole before completely laying flat on the floor of the shed as he reached into the burning red hole.
"What the hell are you doing?" Officer Powell asked, shining his flashlight at Officer Callahan before Phil quickly sat up.
"Huh? Oh, nothing... Just looking." He said, standing up to dust himself off before Calvin furrowed his brows to look at the hole, dismissing it and walking out of the shed.
"Nap later, we are working now." He called out over his shoulder, Phil simply raising his hand up to acknowledge his colleagues words before glancing back at the hole as if to mentally note it.
Holding up the card, Shepherd tilted his head at Barb... This was getting beyond tedious, just helping her study... And, of course, he wanted more...
"Oxygen..." Barb answered, Shepherd rolling his eyes at the girl before he set the cards down on his bed and moved closer to the redhead.
"I get it... You know all of this, do you really need to keep studying?" He asked, allowing his fingers to lightly dance along the girl's arm slightly before he trailed his hand up to the nape of Barb's neck.
"Yes, Shep... I came over to study..." She said, the girl's tone stern as if she wasn't planning on budging before Shepherd rolled onto his back with playful defeat.
"Come on... At least let us make it interesting..." He whined, quickly sitting up once an idea hatched, eyes gleaming with a mixture of playfulness and lust as he scooted himself closer to Barb.
"What if... you get it wrong, you have to take off an article of clothing... you get it right, I have to take something off?" He suggested, pulling lightly at Barb's jumper as his fingers danced along the flesh of her freckled stomach before the girl pulled away.
"Shep..." Barb said softly before the boy pulled away, respecting her in that moment before he sighed and lifted up the flashcards again.
"Fine... But you have to at least make this fun for me... Especially since you're so smart you aren't getting any wrong..." He flattered, picking a relatively difficult flashcard and holding it up.
"Iron." She said, Shepherd pouted slightly as he flipped the card over.
"Oh... No, it's actually Francium... Fe is iron." He said, gently pulling at Barb's sleeve with a smirk before the redhead shook her head.
"I meant Francium." Barb quickly defended before Shepherd shrugged at her.
"That isn't what you said, though..." He teased, tossing the cards up as they began to rain down around them as he scooted closer to the girl.
"I'll let it slide, though... You have these memorized." Shepherd told Barb, gently placing his hands on her waist as he brushed his lips against hers.
"Take a break, won't you? You have been working so hard..." He whispered, Barb letting out a sigh as she ultimately gave into the kiss. Relieved to feel the affection from Shepherd, Barb felt completely at ease...
As for him, this was getting far deeper than he had ever anticipated it to be. He was falling in love, and he was falling hard...
"I love you..." He finally let slip, not even realizing his mouth reacted faster than his mind as Barb furrowed her eyebrows at him before pushing the boy away.
"You what?" She asked softly, gently bringing her freckled hand up to cup Shepherd's cheek before he shook his head.
"Nothing... Don't worry..." He said, quickly returning to the kiss again.
How the hell was he going to explain this?
As Eleven continued to eat the fries on her plate, Benny sat across from the girl still not able to get much out of her in the ways of talking.
It wasn't until he saw a bright light outside that he got up, expecting to have to turn away customers stopping for a late night snack. Of course, it didn't take long for there to be a banging on the door as Benny unlocked it and opened the large glass diner door slightly.
"I'm sorry, we closed half an hour ago..." He said regretfully before the woman showed him a badge, revealing she was with Child Youth Services.
"Oh, my apologies..." Benny quickly said, bowing his head slightly as he opened the door a bit more to let the woman in.
"He is a bit skittish... I didn't really tell him you were gonna come here, so if I could-" The restaurant owner began before he was abruptly cut off by a bullet to his chest, falling to the ground in a pool of blood.
"Get her." The woman said, Eleven froze in fear from the gunshot before she saw the exact man she was trying to escape from coming inside, causing the girl to run off. Being caught for just a moment by one of the men, Eleven tilted her head causing the man's neck to snap as he released her from his grip and fell to the ground limp.
Rain poured from outside as thunder cracked, Eleven getting away in just enough time before swinging her arm back behind her to bend the handle of the back entrance door to keep it completely locked.
Again, she was on her own...
