Back at work after a trip that was half family work and half vacation. Each month I make a master monthly to do list in my #todo book. I start a new list book at the start of the year when I start my #planner. This is a place where I make lists and notes of all sorts. I break my list into three parts: #deskwork #sewing and #ongoing and I put deadlines in a contrasting color. I leave this open on my desk and refer to it daily. Finished this cute turquoise #assiut dress and it’s off to a new home! I used one modern #assuit shawl and lined it with aqua Lycra/spandex blend. I finished the neck and arms with bias tape. Lunch time pause to finish off #coloring this #Mandala from my book, “Color Theory.” Going to demo several of the techniques I used on a future YouTube video. Spent quality time last night working in my latest book “Color Theory with Pencils & Mandalas” — putting together some samples using different techniques and testing different pencils. This #mandala center demos dimension with shading. I used #prismacolor #scholar 60 pencil set. Mostly because I find it easy to pull the colors I want from my “Crazy Cat Lady” pencil roll. My best Bargain - day 6 - #bpsewvember - I have three stands. I use them as dress forms, but in actuality, these are really affordable store display forms. I have a small and this is large.. for sewing customers a different size and shape, I’ll add padding to get the shape I need. And these can be found for less cheap!! This one has a name BFF (basic foam form) and she cost me $36 — what she is wearing is a costume that I’m doing a refurb on for one of my clients #dressform #studiodavina

Instead of sewing today , I’m diving into some writing. My writing process begins with a working book title and a notebook. I’m working with the same team who created “Becoming a Belly Dancer” - @alisha.wz @sarashrapnell and @poppymaya. I use plastic kitchenware to gather my #tribal and #ethnic jewelry into complete looks to “grab and go” for #bellydance #gigs - today I’m organizing and cleaning.
