“jaime did it mostly for self preservation” “he did it bc he was ordered to kill his father” are not only blatantly incorrect and borderline illiterate reads of what is in the text but idk why people find it unfathomable that someone like jaime would want to prevent thousands of people from violently burning alive. like it is not actually a difficult moral equation which is why it is at the center of jaime’s arc and his relationship to his society because he realizes that the ethical constructs of westeros seem to be in opposition to this very obvious moral choice as seen by how the situation could even escalate to the point that it does through the enablement of the tyrant by the respected institution of the kingsguard and the uncritical upholding of the honor system over an actual coherent moral code. same with the scorn he receives for killing what everybody acknowledges as an objectively horrid tyrant who harmed innocents and violated law that knights are also sworn to protect and uphold and actually contradict by not acting against.

Like god forbid we allow alternate forms of education. God forbid we allow social protest. God forbid theres an option to take children out of abusive school enviroments without being thrown in prison. God forbid there's alternate options for disabled children that don't force them into 'special classes' if the state thinks they're too disabled or given no accommodations if it thinks they're not disabled enough.

The moment it comes to a kid's autonomy and not being forced into actively harmful environments? Its right back to 'think of the children 😱' conservative bullshit and workhouse apologism. I can't really give a coherent explanation for it, just that something about Kris as a person gives me nostalgic vibes which fits my impression of the childhood friends to lovers trope... smth about it just feels nostalgic. Like I said, idk if that makes sense, it's mostly ✨️vibes✨️ I guess. Alternatively, I'd like to give them hurt/comfort with Seeun (kinda forcing this bias on Kris rn) in which Seeun takes care of and comforts Kris. I just feel like this would be perfect. <3 Third, just for the sake of being evil (as I am iykyk) I'd like to throw in a love triangle with Anton and Jungwon. They are going to either 1) fight to the death and the winner gets Kris (plot twist, I k!ll them both and take Kris🥰😇) or 2) they finally make up (their fight over Kris has been going on for a while yk), become friends and Kris gets both of them🥰🥰🥰

Lys was simply made for e2l fics and it's such a fitting trope that I would literally d!e to be able to watch this play out in real life like a movie. It would be dramatic, comedic, and you'd go on a rollercoaster of emotions, probably cry throughout 40% of it but it's all worth it in the end, since they FINALLY fall in love and accept it and live happily ever after.
