Seriously, I just lost a big chunk of a few of my projects. I have no fucking idea how or why, I have basically zero IT skills beyond turning it off and on again. Opened Symbiosis and found the last half of chapter two and some things I had written for later chapters missing. I can’t find In My Skin AT ALL and everything else has suffered something similar to Symbi. It’s not just my projects though, there is a bunch of stuff that has either gone all fubar or is missing completely. Do you have any idea how annoying it is to find the Starbound save you have spent at least a hundred hours in is suddenly not loading?????? Ok....I have vented. The only thing I can think of is that when I hit update and shutdown last night something went wrong. I texted an acquaintance but he has not an explanation but said he will come over after Xmas to check it out. That said I will still be dropping the Symbi update in the next few days, but I am going to have to rewrite the last bit from scratch.

Nothing else, wish me luck.

And its fucking broken, the battery dies within 3 hours (no matter how much i use it) and it literally is taking a 30seconds to a minute to open any app or load anything on said app.

So I was getting annoyed and decided to dig into my laptops guts myself to see if I could diagnose what was wrong. It wouldn't be the first time I've done so, just not with this one. I found the case was deformed by what looks like heat, like partially melted, so thats one thing. There was also a sneaky little lose cable, which I reattached. One good cleaning later and putting everything back together and TADA!!!! nothing...nada...zip...Im officially dead.

Im still going to get it checked by a pro. But at this point I'm fairly sure I'll be needing a new computer and that means I have lost everything, all that work, gone. If thats so then...while I have a bunch of other projects in mind but as for all the current projects...I dont know.

Lesson for the future. Always, ALWAYS keep my projects saved on an external hd...

i left my awakening campaign unfinished like 5 months ago and now i'm wondering why. was it cos i started the whole tez playthrough to cope & escape to when my cat got sick and then dropped it when she died and everything just went still? or was it cos the next quest would have been the blackmarsh which in my opinion is the most boring one? well today i picked it up again and remembered the real reason. i dropped my computer mouse on the floor one time too many and it broke so i can't right-click with it & da is a pretty right-click-heavy game :(
