as quickly discussed in the TumblrClan Warrior Cats post that you have reblogged, the warrior cats naming conventions are detailed and rather interesting.

As a simple overview, in case you do not know, Warrior Cats is a book series about. Cats who are warriors. They follow the 'warrior code' and fight other cats for land and stuff. The usual. There's a bunch of kitty drama too, don't worry. Anyways, there are different 'clans' in Warrior Cats, most notable being ThunderClan, the most... 'bravehearted' (?) (i only say this because we follow their perspective in most of the books) clan, living in the forest.

TumblrClan would be a clan, a group of cats living and hunting in a specific area, likely the online multiverse or whatever. Therefore, their naming conventions would be similar, yet likely a bit varied than what we get in the books.

For naming conventions, a kitten is given a prefix when they're born, typically descriptive of their appearance or initial personality. As the reblog game suggests, we both got the prefix 'cringe.' Therefore, we, ignore my phrasing, popped out of the pussy being cringe, or were forecasted to be cringe. That's our prefix, which follows us throughout our lives. We will forever be Cringe.

*note, if one were to take this prefix as a physical descriptor instead of emotional or metaphysical, perhaps the named cats were cringing or squinting. I don't know.

Now, for the second part of the tumblr prompt: the suffix of a cat's name. This changes throughout their life, and depends on their role in the clan. For example, when a cat is still a kitten, they'll have the suffix 'kit,' when they're an apprentice, (learning how to fight, forage, or heal,) they'll have the suffix 'paw,' and as a Warrior, Hunter, or Medicine cat, they'll have a more freeform suffix: they'll be named after anything a cat knows in nature or body, such as 'pond,' 'bramble,' or 'heart.' It's likely that the cat will retain this name throughout the rest of their life, unless they either leave the clan and gain their own name, (unlikely, this'd usually happen if they were shunned,) or were promoted to leader, wherein they'd get the suffix 'star': more on that later.

To sum that all up, I'll use my own Warrior Cats Name as an example: Hollyfrost.

Holly is my prefix given at birth. It describes something, not especially about my appearance, but instead about my origin: I am associated with the holly plant. Not going into my warriorsona lore right now.

Up until I was six months old, I'd have the name Hollykit, as the prefix kit describes my age. As an apprentice, or from six months until I was full grown, I'd have the name Hollypaw, once again denoting my age.

Once I am full grown, I have a more permanent and less standardized prefix, my name is now Hollyfrost, and will remain as such. This name came about because I was born in winter, have a whitish speckle across my fur, and am associated with snowfall and the freeze.

I imagine TumblrClan names work in the same way, and the options dictated by our follower number are our adult suffixes.

Considering we were both given the same name, I can find a few possibilities for how that would happen, considering we were in one clan: tight-knit and rather individualised in terms of naming.

1: You came before me, but went missing before I was born, and was thus named after you to memorialize you. You then came back, and we held the same tension, yet being recognized as the same people. In this, we'd likely be siblings of different litters.

2: We're from different TumblrClans. There are likely a few sects, as a clan as big as the population of Tumblr simply couldn't exist; there'd be too many cats to take care of off of the land. Thus, considering the landscape of Tumblr, it's no surprise that two kits could be christened the same name, and thus, may very well meet.

3: We were born of two rival cats, both of which wanting to outshine the other with their offspring. Thus, we'd be in eternal competition to either outshine or kill the other, though may form a friendship despite the circumstances.

4: In a similar vein to number three, we are siblings in the same litter, born to an asshole parent, making their children compete for success. Therefore, as we grow up, the only way to form our own identity would be to either succeed to leader of the clan and make thine own name "Cringestar," or kill the other and take "cringecallout" as our name, and ours alone.

Knowing the structure of Warrior Cats and the conflicts it creates, I'd say one or four would be the most likely options.

Sakamoto (Nichijou): Someone who is clearly not meant to be a parent but still ended up as a role model to two chaotic girls. Pretends to be serious and responsible but secretly is goofy. Also cares despite seeming annoyed

Kyle Hyde (Hotel Dusk) tired guy who's clearly not being paid enough to deal with everything, but does it regardless.

Marco Pagot (Porco Rosso): he is the exact same as Kyle so that's enough of an explanation

Mio Naganohara (Nichijou): struggling artist with a quick temper who still cares regardless. Very shy about her art. Also pretty poetic about the beauties of life

Mia Fey (ace attorney): would fight to the death for the ones she loves, quite literally.

Guzma (Pokemon): Apparently we have the same MBTI. A pretty good leader who had all his dreams crushed and never properly recovered. Also didn't have good parents.

Adaman (Pokemon): idk how to describe it, just trust me bro
