I like drawing, except for that stressful part where I suddenly start noticing all the mistakes. Often enough it escalates into hours of frantically trying different things, hoping one of them might randomly work

Why am I like this? Like this is 67% zoom and that is my actual hand. I'm basically drawing them life-size at this point.

the curse i have is I love drawing skeletons but i.... can't draw skeletons. especially the phalanges, carpals, and metacarpals (or the metatarsals & tarsals). They're very complicated structures so it's harder to simply them. The ulna and radius are difficult as well, especially since they TWIST OVER EACHOTHER. LIKE WHAT IS THIS??

To be honest, I haven't been able to draw shit recently. The stuff I have, I've struggled with. I've been working on this Radioapple comic for a little while, but I dont really like how it's turning out-

I'm posting this anyways, I'm going to redo this. Probably in a more sketchy style so I don't give myself more wrist problems then I already have-

I like the concept of the comic, just not the execution, hopefully I'll get the full thing out to my liking soon enough :p

It’s ok to do these things with original characters!

💜Give your character a bright and colourful design! Use all kinds of patterns to make them stand out! 💜Have the character’s personality reflect on their attire. If the character is lazy, have them wear clothes that don’t match! 💜Make the character bigger, or skinnier, etc! There are plenty of real body types that you should experiment with! 💜Adapt your character to the way real people talk, or to the way anyone who inspires you talks! 💜Give your character a mental disability. As long as you know how they work and how real people may behave with them, and if you won’t portray them in a harmful way, you can create your own depiction of it! 💜Pronouns pronouns pronouns!!! 💜Give your character a trait you want them to have just for fun! It doesn’t even have to tie into the theme of your world and story, it just has to make sense for the character as an individual 😊 In all my years of character designing and writing, these are just a few of the things I’ve learned to get comfy with. Hopefully this inspires someone to create lots of unique characters! Boost this so others can see!

So art block reclaimed me for another few months BUT knock on wood I think it's subsiding. I started a new brainrot page too :)

Hopefully I can get around to doing some of the drawings I said I was gonna do (pokemon teams, fanart, etc) IF GCSEs don't get in the way or if art block doesn't decide to fuck me over again. For now, have a snippet of the freshly started brainrot page :D (feels refreshing to draw in my sketchbook again, last time I added any art to it was January 18th..)

Gotta remind myself not to overdo it when looking at beautiful art. There's this special golden zone where you're the most inspired and motivated by other people's art but it's so easy to slip into overwhelm and get demotivated :(
