thinking about best friend!theo, who considers marriage a death sentence, losing his mind when he finds out your parents are going to force you to go on dates with potential marriage prospects when you return home. leading to him persuading you to let him steal you away to italy for the summer so he can keep you out of your their clutches and away from the boys on their list who he knows won’t treat you the way you deserve
he's trying to find a way out of the whole thing whilst also showing you around his home and maybe theo should have known it was dangerous to let you into this part of his life he's given no one else access to but god, you're his best friend, practically the other half of his soul, and he can't imagine letting anyone else have this piece of him
besides, it doesn't seem like such a bad idea, not at least until a few weeks pass and there's a new kind of bloom in chest when he looks at you that only grows the harder he tries to fight it and the answer to your problems suddenly lies in a proposal he's too afraid to offer
Reminded by someone else's post so here are some pictures from Glastonbury Tor in 2015. The Tor is often associated with summer solstice and the 3rd photo is from the midsummer gathering of a druid organization called OBOD. The horn player turned and played in the 4 directions calling the opening of the ceremony.
Happy solstice, everyone!
Flying Barney, June 27th, 2010.
Look at that face!! Happy, happy puppy! We were on holiday, camping in the far south west of Wales. From our tent down to the sea, it was a 10 minute walk across fields... Every morning, we'd get up early, before it got hot & make our way down to a little hidden away beach for a paddle - or, in Barney's case, a swim. Heaven!
Some more from the same holiday... This was taken right outside our tent, it was a lovely quiet campsite, we were pretty much the only ones there, so Barney was loose most of the time:
Near the start of the path from the campsite to the sea:
Border collies like to queue up when they play. The 2 collies behind Barney here just... magically appeared when we started playing fetch. They came from different ends of the beach but both saw a person playing fetch with a fellow collie dog & decided to come join in. The one in the middle competed with Barney for the ball (he let her win most of the time - he was always very polite with "girls"!). The one in the back spent her time herding Barney & the 2nd collie. Never spoke to the owners of either other dog, never learnt their names but we all spent a happy hour together.
Semi-wild Welsh ponies grazed the cliffs near the camp site.
Our evenings were spent watching the sun set behind Ramsey Island & looking for seals & porpoises out hunting fish as the tide turned.
