so the reason we're going to france is bc my dad booked some gigs at festivals there and it's gonna be interesting bc i haven't been in that position (experiencing music festivals as a family member of a performer) since probably like 2018 so this will be my first time as an adult. and also i genuinely have no idea how folk festivals in france might compare to folk festivals in canada in terms of organization and general culture & vibe. so i'm trying not to construct an image in my mind of like. the 2016 edmonton folk festival bc a) we will not be in edmonton and b) i am not 13 anymore. i'm curious as to how it's actually gonna play out tho much to think about

Zhanna Yurasova, simply known as Zana, is an odd individual. She doesn't like talking to others much. Other than the occasional word or two, she's almost nonverbal. There's not anything physically wrong with her. The root of her speech predicament can be traced back to her time in Pijha's realm during the Seven Day War.

The Seven Day War took place over three thousand years ago. Vernin, one of Pijha's children and the god of knowledge and mischief, was angry that his half-sister was receiving more attention and praise from Pijha. Vernin believed himself to be better than her and that he deserved more. He tried to have her killed and sparked a war between the gods. Some were on Vernin's side, and some were on his sister's.

Pijha, upset that his children were fighting, sent away all creatures in the godly realm. Except one. A human hybrid known for her strategic approach to things and a no-nonsense attitude. Zana.

Zana was placed as the general of Pijha's army of sent to quell the infighting. She did this very well. So well, in fact, that Vernin had to resort to his fail-safe. He consumed the gods on his side and used their powers to banish the gods that opposed him. He, in turn, was stripped of his powers and sent to the human world. Pijha has used a large potion of his energy doing this and fell into a deep slumber.

Zana refused to leave Pijha's side for quite some time after this. She spent three thousand years protecting Pijha while he slept. In his sleep, Pijha accidentally sent Zana to the human world.

Now, she lives in SummerFolk Hills as their quiet but well-mannered librarian.

Bumping into Alya B. Honasan while having a quick breakfast. Alya’s accomplishments span various fields, including writing, editing, and performance. A survivor of breast cancer and depression, she has emerged as a resilient advocate for mental health awareness and environmental sustainability. She is also a devoted dog mother.

At the Ateneo, she pursued her passion for literature under the tutelage of professors like poet Emmanuel Torres. Her literary and cultural studies pedigree has significantly influenced her professional trajectory, allowing her to do writing and editing work, especially with the Manila Chronicle, the Philippine Daily Inquirer and https://www.thediarist.ph

Recently, she authored "Binibining Pilipinas: Beauty Ever After" (BPCI, 2024), a comprehensive chronicle of the rich history of the Binibining Pilipinas pageant over the past six decades. In it, Alya highlighted the cultural significance of pageantry and reflected her deep appreciation for popular culture and narratives that shape Filipino identity.

Mentored by National Artist for Theatre and UP Professor Emeritus Antonio Mabesa, her acting credits include powerful performances in Gorky's "Summerfolk" ("Mga Bakasyonista"), Rizal's "Fili," and various plays by the Palanca-winning Floy Quintos, including "And St. Louis Loves Dem Filipinos," "Collection," and "Fake."

In addition to her professional endeavors, she is an avid Iyengar yoga instructor, embodying the principles of mindfulness and well-being she passionately advocates. She is a proud member of the BTS Army, which proves her enthusiasm for contemporary culture and her ability to connect with diverse communities. Alya inspires many with her resilience, creativity, and commitment to positively affecting the world.

dr. jekyll -- he's fine??? best when served with whatever the fuck srb was doing and both are grappling against each other like they were begging to be cast in a 90s adaptation of women in love

his role in summerfolk which i don't remember much of but it wasn't boring the material just wasn't there

mackers -- well. rare misfire from the master but never boring

falstaff -- actually falstaff/prospero/trigorin are tied for me all iconic takes on notoriously difficult characters that made them HUMAN imo

FRANK well. he is the one i saw with my own two eyes but also the one i found most emotionally resonant
