CPE312 Day 14

Today is a so called “wellness weak”, but for me, it turned into a day full of hectic activity and learning. Instead of taking a break, I decided to focus on tasks that would move me closer to completing my projects and academic requirements. The morning started with me diving into revisions for our Data Profiling System, particularly addressing the improvements recommended by Sir Carl. I explored new techniques and tools to enhance our system’s functionality, excited by the challenge to make it better. Every small breakthrough felt like progress, and it was rewarding to apply new concepts directly to our project.

Later, I shifted my focus to another subject, PIT. I worked on a circuit simulation activity, testing designs and running multiple simulations until I got the desired results. It was a bit technical and time-consuming, but it was also a reminder of how much I enjoy hands-on learning in engineering. To wrap up the day, I headed to the city to canvass prices for components we need for our Sumobot project. Comparing options and taking notes on quality and affordability was tiring but necessary to keep the project on track. Though it wasn’t a “restful” day, it was fulfilling. Every task brought me closer to completing something meaningful, and that’s a reward in itself.

Ended my day by picking fights with Brassius, Iono, and the Elite 4 (minus Amarys who is probably still at her flight range). Crispin...he still hasn't figured out that Sunny Day strats don't work when the opponent is bringing a Walking Wake as their Water Type. Drayton and Lacey actually had some bite to them, especially since my team's not the best against Fairies and the Drayton battle saw me lose Bowbot early to some bad luck with that being my biggest Dragon counter besides other Dragons which is of course a double-edged sword.

Did finish off with a Close Combat against Archaludon because Sumobot is awesome!

ASME Sumobot Competition

February 12, 2021- April 2021

In a team of 4, we manufactured a Sumobot that competed against our peers. We used a LiDAR, UltraSonic, and 2 IR sensors, and an Arduino board to make it fully autonomous.  Our Sumobot won the competition, proving to be durable and fast.

We began design stages virtually, with CAD and electronic ideas. Together we decided components and principles we wanted to use. Our chassis had a very small clearance with the ground, attempting to inhibit a competitor to flip us/gain an advantage by being underneath us. We used the largest size dimensions and centered our weight close to ground; big and heavy but not top heavy - harder to flip. The use of castor wheels assisted our bot in spontaneously changing direction. We wanted our bot to be as smart as possible so we used 3 different sensors. This did make coding more challenging and time consuming with calibrations and debugging. We created two slots for the back wall and lid for easy access to the electronics. The lid printed too large, without enough time we made a duct tape lid which was not efficient.

Future improvements: more secure mounting of sensors, more organized wiring, a 3D printed lid. All of these improvements amount to more time allocated for manufacturing.

They do robot combat a bit differently in Japan. Sure there's no spinners or hammers, but the speed is incredible, and the different AI types make for some amusing bot behavior.

The #rewards in life are never fair to others. Over the last two weeks and the next few more I will be on a large project that is short of accolades. There isn't a cheering section or constant pat on the back. Attaboy!. So, I write about this almost every post. It about not looking for the rewards from others. Ekipa are the most popular polish YouTubers with over 17 million subscribers on various channels. Recently they have published their first music album. Our job was to create the animated music video for "Na Zajawce". We had complete creative control of the project from the creative concept, script to execution.

Premise

After the catastrophe caused by the fall of the gigantic radioactive meteorite, the whole Earth is covered by water. Ekipa's members survived the apocalypse but mutated into the dinosaurs because of the radiation. Now they travel the newly created ocean in the soviet mech that looks like a giant sumo wrestler. This prototype goes by the name of SumoBot. Little do they know, there's one more passenger on the mech. And he is ready to hunt them down.

Purple Chalcedony (New gemsona)

So I was redesigning my first two gemsona OCs, Yellow Topaz and Moonstone (renamed it from Zircon) while watching a Sumobot conpetition at school. Then I had an idea of making an another gemsona.

This is Chalcedony and I'm still bothered by her color scheme so it's possible that I'll change her color scheme and/or where the colors should be.

I planned her design to be inspired by some Lone Ranger elements. But when I redrew her again, she looks beautiful when I made her design inspired by gothic lolita fashion and feather hats.

I imagine her as a classy, mysterious, and an optimistic softie that can also turn into a bad bitch. Because her weapon is a scythe.

This is the scanned raw version from my sketchbook and you can see some designs such as her without her hat and her gem.

I can also imagine her shape-shifting into a persian cat that sleeps in porcelain bowls and probably live in your cupboard.

The colors are directly from this picture of a Chalcedony so yall have an idea on where the colors came from.

(I can post the new designs of Yellow Topaz and Moonstone if I already made a digitalized versions of both)
